The only small complaint is that it can be a bit crowded depending on the day BUT still worth it. Being that it's in Midtown (close to Times Square), I was surprised how affordable it was...and they give you A LOT of food. Everything was delicious.

If you want a quick chicken teriyaki, this is the place to go. It reminds me of the chicken teriyaki chain that is found inside malls. I got the bento that comes with chicken teriyaki, spring rolls, dumplings and salad. I also prefer the noodles for an extra $1 rather than rice. The spring rolls are very bready, if not in the bento, I wouldn't get it. The chicken teriyaki is sweet and moist. Service is quick. Restaurant has a few counters and tables for those who want to eat in.

Ordered: Chicken & Beef Teriyaki (~$13): served with steamed rice with cabbage; light teriyaki sauce Aya's take: Super quick service! I ordered it online and it was ready within 5 minutes when I went to pickup. I'm going to be honest, my expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised with 1) the portion of meat you get for ~$13, 2) the flavors were super satisfying and balanced, and 3) the quick, friendly service! Both the chicken and beef were tender with some pieces being more crisp than others which I liked; chicken is definitely the better one of the two. I loved that the rice soaks up the teriyaki sauce and the cabbage adds a fresh element to the meal. Pretty solid overall!

$9.89 for a hot meal for two cooked on the spot in midtown Manhattan, New York City? Get out of here! They had specials on this relatively new branch of Teriyaki One, one of 15 in the NYC metropolitan area. Wife and I ate here not once, not twice, but three times during our weeklong stay in the big Apple. They had a $9.89 special with teriyaki chicken over rice and cooked cabbage. And they didn't skimp on the chicken soaked in a delicious teriyaki sauce, as the whole package weighed 2+ lbs., and could serve two adults. Cooked in front of you while you wait. Also had the $12.49 chicken bento, and the $13.49 shrimp bento boxes. The spring rolls and pot stickers were on the soft side and not cooked at a high enough temperature to turn the bottoms brown with crispness. Only seven tables, all but one of them two person tables. 6-minute walk to our timeshare condo at the Manhattan Club. They also had a $10.98 teriyaki chicken/shrimp combo special which came with 10 shrimp. The teriyaki shrimp plate comes with 20 shrimp. Not the tastiest shrimp around, but for $10.98 who's complaining? Cheaper than Panda Express with triple the amount of chicken. $9.89 chicken teriyaki today, but $8.89 chicken teriyaki in January 2023 when they opened. Right across the street from Benihana but double the chicken at Teriyaki One for a third of the price.

Came to this small little spot near midtown during the week for lunch. I did an order pickup, as you can place an order for pickup on their website. My order was ready within minutes, which is great for this area, because pickup at other restaurants in this area can take up to an hour sometimes. I ordered the chicken bento box for lunch. It was a pretty big portion, which was nice, because I was able to have leftovers. It came with teriyaki chicken, brown rice (you also have an option for steamed rice or upgrade to noodles), a small salad, vegetables rolls, and fried dumplings. The brown rice and chicken were cooked to perfection. Everything tasted delicious and I'll definitely be coming back here soon!

Cheat Day goodness!!! This is so reminiscent of Sarku Japan in the malls which I haven't had for so long! The portions are really so big, and the teriyaki is saucy and delicious. For a limited time the chicken teriyaki is $8.99 and the fried chicken dumplings are $4.99 (basically $1 off each) for the grand opening. The normal prices are pretty good, especially for midtown Manhattan. There are beef and shrimp and salmon options available as well and you can combine two! They also have bento box options with eggs rolls and salad and dumplings, for about $14-18. Sushi rolls and poke are on the menu for about $8-$ 14 which I didn't get a chance to really look at but I will next time. The restaurant is very quick and there is seating, maybe for like 5-6 groups. It was pretty full during lunch time on a Monday. Definitely will be back!

This place tastes exactly like the Sarku or Sakio chicken places in food court malls. The chicken is juicy, the teriyaki sauce is well balanced, and the portions are pretty big. I usually get a side of extra chicken and then for $13 or so you get two meals.

I recommend this place highly. It's a great value for the quality. The cooked "Dyanmire" salmon sushi roll is delicious. There's always a line and a decent crowd in here. A good addition to downtown Brooklyn!

To drink, I had a Hot Organic Super Matcha Tea for 4.95. It was alright tea, and I wish teas were included in the price point, as otherwise, this place feels pretty traditional. In terms of food, I only ordered from the seasonal menu, so I'm not sure how the rest of the dishes are, but from what I had, I would go back for a light traditional meal. My appetizer was the Dashimaki Tamago/だし巻まき卵たま, or sweet savory omelet with daikon for $6.98. This came with three pieces along with a little dollop of grated radish. The pieces had a light sweetness to them along with a bit of savoriness. They were juicy and a bit bouncy while maintaining some softness. This was standard and good. My main dish was the $19.98 Beef Tan Tan Udon, or ground sirloin beef, spicy broth, baby bok choy, kikurage mushroom, scallions, and sesame seeds. While I have preferred udon from spots like Raku, the udon had a mild chew to it, and they were still good. The broth had a mix of sweetness and spiciness with a nice depth of flavor. The vegetables inside tasted fresh, and the meat added some richness. This was good as well. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go here, but the food was good. If you're in the area and looking for no frills Japanese dining in a more comfortable atmosphere at pretty decent Midtown East prices, I would recommend this place.

I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting.
