    Tempura udon
    Christine D.

The tempura udon was served hot and generally quick. The tempura was fried well so that it was not overcooked and the moisture of the vegetables and shrimp remained inside, while maintaining crispiness. Broth of the udon was also flavored well. It's a nice spot to come back to if you want a light meal.

Feeling like Teriyaki? I highly recommend coming to Teriyaki Time. Their food is better than the other Teriyaki places we've been to around Elk Grove. The inside is clean with ample tables and seating. Our go to dishes are the Chicken Teriyaki Plate and Salmon Teriyaki Plate. All Plates come with a side salad, an orange slice and a side of teriyaki sauce. Their side salad dressing is very good. I'm not quite sure what the white dressing is, but it compliments the salad really well. Today I decided to try their Yum Yum Chicken Plate which is deep fried chicken. The chicken was crispy and tender. I really enjoyed the flavor of this dish and recommend you try it if you're looking for fried chicken as opposed to grilled chicken. We usually place phone orders so we can get our food as soon as we get there. If you order in person, it takes a bit longer because they cook it fresh. So it's up to you. I have seen some people just using the dine in bottle on their to go dishes before leaving. Just buy their bottled teriyaki sauce. It's really good and helps support this local business.

Thai chicken, a must try! If you like spicy, get this!

I love this place! Always great service and quick! The thai chicken is my favorite and a must try. Honestly, that's the only thing I get there. It's spicy and delicious

The spicy Thai chicken is my favorite. Juicy and well portioned. I also enjoy the regular teriyaki. Service is prompt.

I can't believe I haven't posted a review of this great restaurant yet! Our family has been regulars here for years. Really great, quick teriyaki-style food. It's a super clean restaurant and their fresh ingredients are prepared right in front of you. Delicious, healthy options and their teriyaki sauce is sooooo good that they sell it by the bottle! Right off the freeway. Bypass the In 'n' Out and come here instead!

Our server was young and we could tell she hasn't been doing this long, but she put in the most effort to make our meal nice and I was really blown away by how hospitable and happy she was to be there. That is hugely refreshing and so hard to find anywhere today. She brought me a basket to put my purse in under the table because I don't put it on the floor superstitiously. Our water glasses were always full. We were genuinely able to relax and have a nice time. The kitchen, however, had gotten overwhelmed before we got there and my stepdaughter's chicken donburi took over an hour to come out. I really don't want to fault them for that because it was a very busy day, but it might be a good idea to hire an extra line cook for the next big holiday. I'm looking forward to coming back on a regular day because I'm sure it will be 5 stars! The rolls were fantastic and creative (they're labeled on my photos.) I forgot to take a pic of the Osaka roll but it was devoured by my fiancé so it must have been delicious! The miso soup was full of mushrooms and had great umami flavor. The Sake nigiri was some of the freshest I've had recently and was buttery and delicious. Japanese food is my absolute favorite and this place delivered excellent service and flavor.

Nice quantity of noodles and meat. 8/10 We love karaage and the Oroshi Ponzu Karaage did not disappoint. Fantastic crispy outside and smothered in grated daikon radish (however, there was another time we came here and it wasn't as crispy). 10/10 when it comes out perfectly! The service was good and friendly. - Homura aburasoba: delicious! The noodle was perfectly cooked to my liking - a bit firm yet still has a chew. The raw egg mixed with spicy pork was the perfect combo of creaminess and a little bit of kick. The bambu shoots and scallions gave a nice crunch to the dish. When I added vinegar and ground sesame seeds, the flavor totally changed (to the better!). The acidity from the vinegar gave a bright taste to the creamy noodle. - Original aburasoba: good. The noodle was perfectly cooked. The chasu pieces were tender and flavorful. It tasted better when I added vinegar, spicy sauce & ground sesame seeds to the bowl. - Ponzu karaage: the karaage meat was tender and juicy. We sat at the back right side of the restaurant which is where the AC is blasting so it can get very cold when seated here. We started with the Ika Maruyaki (Teriyaki grilled squid) and for $28 this was a miss. No tentacles were served and the squid did not taste very fresh. It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. It has a crisply light batter that is not too thick or oily. My husband got the tonkatsu curry and this always hits. The curry is so aromatic with the warm spices and the katsu is perfectly battered and cooked.

They poured a small portion of the curry on it but still the curry is very "weak". The piece of very thin beef was about 4"x4", very small portion...for $22. The $22 teriyaki chicken was the same...no flavor, just lightly deep in a teriyaki sauce. Luckily, we ordered two sushi rolls at $18 each. Otherwise, we would still be starving. The sushi rolls are good, not great, but standard. Any sushi restaurants can prepared the same. But, for the price of $18 per roll we ordered, we can probably get cheaper prices elsewhere. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting.
