Tempura udon
Christine D.

The tempura udon was served hot and generally quick. The tempura was fried well so that it was not overcooked and the moisture of the vegetables and shrimp remained inside, while maintaining crispiness. Broth of the udon was also flavored well. It's a nice spot to come back to if you want a light meal.

Feeling like Teriyaki? I highly recommend coming to Teriyaki Time. Their food is better than the other Teriyaki places we've been to around Elk Grove. The inside is clean with ample tables and seating. Our go to dishes are the Chicken Teriyaki Plate and Salmon Teriyaki Plate. All Plates come with a side salad, an orange slice and a side of teriyaki sauce. Their side salad dressing is very good. I'm not quite sure what the white dressing is, but it compliments the salad really well. Today I decided to try their Yum Yum Chicken Plate which is deep fried chicken. The chicken was crispy and tender. I really enjoyed the flavor of this dish and recommend you try it if you're looking for fried chicken as opposed to grilled chicken. We usually place phone orders so we can get our food as soon as we get there. If you order in person, it takes a bit longer because they cook it fresh. So it's up to you. I have seen some people just using the dine in bottle on their to go dishes before leaving. Just buy their bottled teriyaki sauce. It's really good and helps support this local business.

Thai chicken, a must try! If you like spicy, get this!

I love this place! Always great service and quick! The thai chicken is my favorite and a must try. Honestly, that's the only thing I get there. It's spicy and delicious

The spicy Thai chicken is my favorite. Juicy and well portioned. I also enjoy the regular teriyaki. Service is prompt.

I can't believe I haven't posted a review of this great restaurant yet! Our family has been regulars here for years. Really great, quick teriyaki-style food. It's a super clean restaurant and their fresh ingredients are prepared right in front of you. Delicious, healthy options and their teriyaki sauce is sooooo good that they sell it by the bottle! Right off the freeway. Bypass the In 'n' Out and come here instead!

I've been coming to this teriyaki spot for a long time, but unfortunately, the food quality has noticeably dipped lately.

The menu has been well thought out and the presentation of the food is just gorgeous. Service is pretty good too. It's such a cute spot I love it so much. Cannot recommend it enough to be honest.

It's too soft and wet or half-cooked, with some grains still raw. We ordered Dinner Bento box Salmon teriyaki (not dry and teriyaki not too sweet) Tonkotsu (not overcooked dry that it's stuck to the breading) With the addition of spicy tuna roll (for my husband, too spicy), it would help if we are informed that it may be too spicy for some. Dinner Bento box Saba shioyaki (good moist, no fishy taste but a little too much salt) please adjust accordingly. Salmon teriyaki same as my comment above. With the addition of California roll, which is ok. Shioyaki sauce is good, that hint of spice and its combination with citrus is good for me. Tempura sauce is good too. The tempura batter mix is a bit on the salty side as well. Please do not change to burning or overcooking your food over time. Definitely be back.

Expect to wait an hour for your food after you have been seated. We arrived close to opening at noon on a Sunday and did not leave until 2pm which is when they close for lunch. We sat at the back right side of the restaurant which is where the AC is blasting so it can get very cold when seated here. We started with the Ika Maruyaki (Teriyaki grilled squid) and for $28 this was a miss. No tentacles were served and the squid did not taste very fresh. It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. It has a crisply light batter that is not too thick or oily. My husband got the tonkatsu curry and this always hits. The curry is so aromatic with the warm spices and the katsu is perfectly battered and cooked.

First off, the rolls were 50% off! So of course we each got a roll. We all loved them. I also got the taste of Himalaya which is salmon over a salt rock! Such a fun and delicious experience. The service was great. We were greeted and sat right away. Waters were promptly brought to our table as well. I would definitely recommend this location. The last time we dined in, my husband politely asked for spicy mayo a second time after she forgot to bring it with our food. She rolled her eyes at him, then came back and tossed the container of spicy mayo onto our table. We didn't say anything because we wanted to be respectful to the chefs and didn't want to make a scene. Our takeout experiences haven't been much better. On one order, they forgot an entire container that was part of our meal, so we had to drive back to get it. They called to let us know they had forgotten it but also told us we needed to arrive within 10 minutes because they were closing. They also regularly forget the spicy mayo on takeout orders, even though they charge extra for it, while it's provided at no extra cost when dining in. My husband and I used to come here regularly because we genuinely loved the food, but after multiple disappointing experiences with the service, we decided it wasn't worth coming back. The food is good, but good food isn't enough when you're consistently treated poorly. I'd rather chew a jean jacket than pay to be disrespected.
