This has been a staple in my family since I can remember. With a frequently rotating menu, you can always find something you will enjoy. I cannot remember a bad meal here. The staff has always been extremely kind and knowledgeable. The sommelier is wonderful and does a great job of explaining wines to beginners. This is one of those really weird and very overpriced restaurants. A bygone of a prior age, their food is middling at best and their cocktails are grossly expensive for the well-swill that they are. Ok, we went for lunch small menu but we had the daily specials which our waiter James suggested which was fucking awesome! Roasted Pork sammie with pineapple chutney and feta cheese omg! I literally almost snatched that sammich from my lunch dates hands and unhinged my jaw to shove down my throat, sorry this might be the ginger beer talking which was another great suggestion from James. I had the the daily tacos which was so yummy The marinade on the chicken made it so juicy and TASTY! And the truffle yummy ass fries man! Has the potential to be a top-notch fine(r) dining establishment but does not seem to be very well managed. Staff do not seem to be trained properly, leaving unused wine glasses on the table, not providing enough silverware for all parties, not removing dirty dishes, getting bar orders wrong, 3 pieces of bread for party of 4 (they did bring more when asked) etc. Restrooms are run down and poorly maintained. Waiter was nice enough, and claimed they were slammed (it was NYE) but they didn't look that busy. Lots of empty tables. Maybe they were short staffed. Best thing about the restaurant is the ambiance. Brussels sprouts which in the past were awesome came out lukewarm and poorly seasoned. (No salt/pepper on the table and waiter did not bring any when asked) Filets WERE properly cooked and salads and green beans were good. Veg Greek pasta was ok but nothing special. Passion fruit sorbet was inedible due to being so tart and needs to be tossed. Bread pudding was pretty good but nothing special. If ambience satisfies you, go there but go somewhere for good food and service. read more

As always, our dining experience at Terra Terroir was superb last week. The four of us shared the calamari appetizer, which was crisp and tasty, and served with a moderately zesty sauce. Our entrees included the pasta with large, robust shrimp added, and the sea scallops and shrimp special. We enjoyed perfectly made dirty martinis and a nice, crisp Sauvignon Blanc. We finished by sharing delicious crème brûlée and bread pudding. The ambience of the outdoor patio contributed nicely to our dining experience. Fresh air, a quiet atmosphere, and tables situated to facilitate conversation add to the pleasure to dining at Terra Terroir. Lastly, but certainly not least, was Icis's excellent service. Beware!! Worms in Fish!! I went to Terra Terroir for dinner with a friend and got the special. It was Black Drum fish with veggies. I had never had it before and was told it was a meatier fish, not light and flaky. When it arrived, it looked and smelled good. I had two bites and thought it was fatty for a fish. So, I flipped it over and there were visible worms all over the bottom and inside of the filet. I was in shock. Called the waiter, Barrett over and gave the plate to him. He came back over and said we are really sorry, this has never happened before. We are going to comp your meal, but please still consider giving me a tip. Unbelievable! I have just ingested something disgusting and all you are worried about is your tip?? We left and no manager or anyone was in site on the way out. We were in the back patio and they were all hiding from us as we left. I went home and threw up everything. I was physically sick for over a week and couldn't eat out again for a while and especially not fish. I called the next day to speak with a manager about it and asked for the owner to call me. To this day no manager or owner of this restaurant has called us to apologize or tell us they have remedied the situation. Their lack of caring and compassion is very concerning and does not leave confidence the issues are being addressed. Highly recommend you stay away! It took me a while to give this place a try. I've always heard great things about the place but judging from the outside, it didn't give me an inviting appetite. Like the old saying, "never judge a book from its cover," this place is a gem. I enjoyed an awesome lunch, then dinner, then celebrated my birthday here as well. They have an outside patio area, along with a private table with a fireplace that is like a cute nook. This place is definitely a surprise every time I visit. Everything on the menu is delicious. The salad, appetizers, and entrees. Though I would say the bread pudding didn't meet the par. I really enjoy this place and is one of my favorite spots at the moment. I was humiliated by the hosts in front of my family and other guests, mocking and suggesting we were lying about having a reservation for the patio. I had called the night before to make a reservation specifically for the Patio, as you cannot reserve the patio from the website. I received a text confirmation from OpenTable soon after, but I guess they forgot to note Patio on my reservation. I can live with a mistake and take a table in the front, but the disrespect ruined the night, my sleep and still hurts the following morning. It was to be a special dinner with our son moving to Europe this week. Our first time back to Terra Terroir in a while, we made the best of it, ordered great food and wine and tipped well (not the servers fault). But my son could see I was hurt by the behavior of the 2 hosts. We previously frequented the patio many times prior to covid, but not any more. The humiliation is not worth it. read more

First time hitting this little restaurant in Brookhaven. The atmosphere is solid with a small well organized seating area inside and a sweet looking patio outside. It was a tad warm for the patio but definitely an option for the future. The food and drinks were great. The charcuterie plate was very generous and perfect as a shared plate starter. I opted for the special - Filet - that was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The crust was exceptional and nicely pink in the middle. I also had a couple of the recommended drinks - made with beefeater and amaro which was a great option for a hot summer day. It was not cheap but what is these days. They do have dessert but between the starter and main we could not go there. All in all a very nice first visit. read more

The restaurant is quite unassuming from the outside but upon entering it's nicely appointed. I came here for a work dinner and we were seated outside on their patio. I'd been here twice before and had always sat on the inside but the exterior is nice too. We had a small issue with a hanging plant that was dripping water onto our table but they handled it quickly. Their menu changes based on what's in season so keep that in mind. The two times I'd been here previously neither of the dishes I ordered before were on the menu. This time I went with their arugula salad with fresh figs, goat cheese, candied pecans, roasted butternut squash, and a blood orange vinaigrette. I opted to add chicken to my salad. The table ordered several appetizers. I tried the wild mushroom flatbread and it was very good. I really enjoyed my salad too. The grilled chicken was juicy, the figs were delicious, and I could have eaten a bag of those candied pecans by themselves. I had the white peach lemonade to drink and I'd definitely recommend it. After placing my order and reviewing and verifying the order was correct via phone call I arrived disappointed. The order was incorrect, corrected via receipt, and recorrected yet again. I left a minimum tip for the additional wait and inconvenience. I arrived home to find that they charged my card way more than was on my confirmed receipt. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this restaurant. The outside is so deceptive of what you're walking into. It's in a shopping center that is somewhat dead at times. The restaurant has a really nice patio outback and it's decorated nicely. The food is pretty good too. I ordered the chicken dish and it was very flavorful. It came with a side of brussel sprouts that were burnt. I wouldn't order them if I needed a side & I love brussel sprouts. The restaurant was really busy for a Monday night & the service was good. First, let me say I have been to this restaurant many times. Taken out of town guests here, ordered carry out during Covid shutdown. My husband and I were there last evening and had a terrible experience from start to finish. It began when I noticed my water glass still had lipstick on it from whoever used it last. Then after about 10 minutes our server finally appeared and took our drink order. It was a very long time before we got water or our drinks. Our server apologized. We ordered a shrimp appetizer and our entrees when he delivered our drinks. About 40 minutes later our meals were delivered. Of course, we asked the person (not our server who had gone AWOL on us) who delivered our food to make sure that our appetizer was canceled. Finally, we had our food. I was starving. As I was "trying" to cut into my chicken I had a bad feeling. My feeling became reality when I opened my chicken breast to see that it had been delivered to me "medium rare". Our server came to the table when he saw our food was delivered. He saw my chicken and said he would send the manager to speak to us. I was still very hungry. Manager, Phillip, pulled up a chair and apologized and offered me a new meal to take home with me and encouraged us to order complimentary desserts. It was very pleasant sitting outside there so we decided to take him up on his offer, so we each ordered a dessert. Bad move on our part. It took forever on the desserts too. We asked for the check and our server brought it to us and let us know he took off the bad dinner and ONE of the desserts! This was not what the manager offered. They cleary need to get their act together. We just paid it so we could just leave. It was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. After the delayed drinks and unedible dinner you would think the server and/or the manager would have been all over trying to make things better. In my opinion the whole dinner should have been complimentary. My husband really didn't enjoy his, since I just sat and watched him eat. Also, at no time did anyone ask if we would like another drink. I understand that it is a tough time for restaurants but so many things could have been done differently to redeem this evening. Needless to say, we will never go back and could not in good faith recommend this place any longer to anyone else. We were going back to try the new menu which was released only two days ago. It is artsy and beautiful. I love love love the outdoor patio. It has an indoor outdoor experience from the moment you walk back there. You feel like you stepped into another world. Last nights dinner was very good . I highly recommend the brussels sprouts appetizer as they were done more perfectly than any other brussels sprouts I've had it any other restaurant in Atlanta. We both had vegetable plates that were deliciously seasoned, and my son recommended the Downton drink special. Used to be a favorite but the restaurant stopped catering to vegans . I got food poisoning. I went here with a friend for the first time yesterday, Friday, July 15th. I had the steak. It was served to me barely warm. Red flag. We arrived at 12pm, only an hour after the place opened -- and there were only a handful of people in there. Regardless, there is no reason why the food should be cold. About 3/4 in to finishing the steak, I started getting painful sharp cramps in my stomach. I excused myself to the restroom and had diarrhea. To be clear: I had nothing else to eat that day until that point. I stopped eating the food. About 15 hours later, I'm still suffering from diarrhea. Now that I see the restaurant's health score, I'm even more sure that the steak had E.Coli or was contaminated in some way. I wouldn't come back here again. And they're lucky I don't have another medical issue because food contamination is no joke. Some folks get really sick -- and sometimes die from this kind of stuff in their system. read more

The biggest surprise you will find in Brookhaven. This amazing restaurant is located in a strip mall and looks like nothing on the outside but when you walk in you will be amazed at the beauty of this space and the outside garden area. This is a hidden gem in Brookhaven! We have been coming to Terra Terroir regular for years. It is one of our go to places for dinner and drinks. They have a very small bar but a huge very affordable wine menu. They typically feature a wine each night as well. The special is always the way to go but the regular menu has some great highlights in my opinion. The brussel sprouts are always a fantastic way to start, the dipping sauce that accompanies them is lick the plate good. I am a huge fan of the grilled artichoke and the deviled eggs. Recently the deviled eggs were made with blue cheese and candid bacon... soooo good! For entrees, like mentioned above, I typically go with the special however I am a fan of the tortellini (add shrimp), the shrimp and grits and the lamb lollies (these are on the appetizer menu but make an excellent entree as well). All pastries and desserts are made in house! Go check this place out and give it some love. read more

Beautiful outdoor ambience...just be forewarned that along with the trees and nature, you will also surely see large crawling roaches enjoying the outdoors with you. And, the waiter said they don't spray for bugs! Other than that, the menu, food presentation, wine list, and service is quite nice. We didn't take pictures of the extra little creepy crawlers on the floor, on the wall, and even on the booth cushions...but we had multiple opportunities. Really enjoyed this neighborhood gem in Atlanta's Brookhaven neighborhood off of Peachtree Industrial near the MARTA station. Easy parking and set back in a quiet strip mall where the now Total Wine occupies space. We had a large group that the restaurant easily accommodated in the back courtyard with fans/air conditioned. Very pleasant and peaceful atmosphere. Very easy to order off the menu (without Prix Fix for over 10 people). Staff was nice and friendly. Food came out timely for a business lunch, was of the proper temperature and the waiter easily split the bill a million different ways without complaint or issue. Would highly recommend. read more

Terra Terrior has been in the same location but has expanded over the years. It's been years since we ate there. Same gourmet dining in a wonderful indoor/outdoor garden with a water feature and fireplace and heaters. Service is really good and prices are reasonable. Wife here few times, first time for me. Old dude host was nice. Sat in the patio. Server dude a bit ... brusque, like he's from New York. Not overtly rude but def not southern hospitality. No pic of the mushroom flatbread but it was good. Earthy with rosemary and other herbs, reasonable portion. Wife got the chicken. Decent. Sauce a tad salty but other items underseasoned so the combo was fine. I got the swordfish. Texture of fish was nice but really no seasoning at all. Just looking for a little salt and pepper. I'm guessing the avocado like butter was supposed to round it out but it still needed more salt. I would come again to try some other dishes but otherwise not too impressive first visit. I wanted to love this place. And in some respects, I do. The people are friendly, and the indoor/outdoor dining area is unusual and charming. Normally, we're a sit at the bar couple. I love small plates. But this place was new and we didn't see the bar until we were seated at a table. Like I mentioned, the garden decor was charming. The down side was the good. It was good, but not great and did not merit the price point. I tried the vegetarian version of the Peas and Carrots dinner. My dinner was a fist sized portion of risotto decorated with peas and carrot purée. It was good, not great, and at $19, could have been a little more on the plate. Hubby got a salad with salmon which also tasted good but the portion of salad was more appetizer than entree. For the atmosphere, it's a pretty place. For value, it simply didn't fill the bill. read more

Check out their website and you'll be surprised like me that the inside looks so totally different than the outside. Love their space. Warm & cozy. Soothing music. Wine bar in the back. Great patio space, too. Came here yesterday for lunch. Had a hard time deciding what to get b/c everything on their menu sounded wonderful - and healthy (an added plus plus!). Reasonably priced, too (most dishes under $10). My friend raved about the buffalo meatloaf so both of us got their "Buffalo Meatloaf Sandwich" ($9), which is a slice of farm-raised buffalo meatloaf & sauteed onions with tomato pesto & provolone cheese, served warm on a whole wheat bread. Very tasty & even slightly spicy. Had a choice of sides and we opted for their mixed greens salad w/ balsamic dressing. Pretty generous portion, too. I would definitely order it again - but after I try all their other yummy-sounding selections. Service here was wonderful, too! Everyone from the owner to the host to the servers were all so genuinely nice - and with great smiles, too! They really added to the warmth. Oh yeah - I have to make a comment about their unisex restroom. I had a moment of olfactory confusion & disconnection because it smelled so delicious in there -- the smell of food cooking! Ha - I'm assuming the restroom is right next to the kitchen or something. As a regular patron of this establishment, I can say it has the best quality food and very creative!! I love the ambience and normally the cocktails are superb. There is a little limited selection now after Covid but the bartender was so super to remember "woman in red" Cosmo Our server was a five out of five! Grouper was the BEST! The only complaint we had (and we would've given a five star )was we called ahead because we had a last-minute opening and they said come on we don't need a reservation because we are only 20 minutes away and when we got there we got a little flack from the manager who made us stand there for awhile, couldn't remember he just spoke to us , while he determined if he had space and there were very few in the restaurant. Was just unnecessary and uncomfortable especially when we dined and left and the entire inside restaurant seating was still empty. I have always loved Terra Terroir, but I wanted to drop a note based on their impeccable quality during Covid. We got takeout from them for our anniversary dinner and it was fantastic. They do have a limited take-out menu, but the person who answered the phone walked me through the entire menu and made helpful recommendations (the crab cakes were maybe the best I've ever had).They were extremely accommodating, safe, and prompt, and the food tasted perfect even after it traveled home with me. We dined here, party of 4 with prior reservations. The patio is PHENOMENAL. We really enjoyed the ambiance. Our waitress was Marguerita, and she was very good. Finally, an establishment that understands that hard butter doesn't spread on bread well. Thank you, thank you, for serving softened butter, that was a nice change. The specials change regularly, so you really don't know until you get there, what's on the "special" menu. The servings are modest in size, but HUGE in flavor and preparation. If you believe in quality over quantity, you will love it. If you're looking to get "stuffed", that won't happen. Extra kudos to the burger and the filet mignon, which was FANTASTIC. We had such a wonderful time at Terra Terrior. From start to finish a wonderful evening and date night. We didn't have a reservation so we had a small wait, and sat at the bar for cocktails. The bartender was friendly enough but after sitting and having a vodka tonic, beer, and mussels we opted to sit at a table. Which is unusual for us as we Always sit at the bar. Maybe it was just an off night for him but it only got better as we went along. The outside terrace was absolutely lovely! It had twinkling lights and soft trickling of water in the small pond in the back. We ordered a bottle of Ben Marco and decided to split everything we ordered to try it all. The wine was lovely and our service was without a doubt top notch. We ordered the beet salad to start with goat cheese and candied pecans. Probably our favorite. We also ordered the Filet Wellington and vegetable plate with Brussel Sprouts, Green Beans and Butternut Squash! All delicious! For dessert we had chocolate and it was very rich and tasty. Overall a delicious and wonderful experience, who knew all that splendor was hidden in a rinky-dink shopping center next to McDonalds and a RiteAid !! Will be back! read more
