My sister and I had lunch here last week, and like other reviewers said, the patio was beautiful and serene. I felt like I had been instantly transported to Sedona for a spa lunch- I'm serious! Our server (Jamal) was very personable and engaging. However, I wasn't very impressed with the rotisserie chicken & cranberry sandwich ($10) that I ordered. It was served with so much chicken that I never ended up eating it as a sandwich, but even with the cranberry and mustard, it was completely lacking flavor. I did like the veggie chips that came on the side. My sister said that her sandwich was dry and "missing something", which surprised me because our server recommended it. Honestly, there were so many options on the lunch menu that it was overwhelming and difficult to decipher what their specialty is. I will go back to try their wines and dessert- the atmosphere was so pleasant that it's worth another try. Such a lovely lunch today! The patio was hopping and I was meeting a girlfriend with whom I wanted to catch up in depth, so we opted for the quieter bar, but I can't wait to go back soon and enjoy the semi-covered seating on their lovely outdoor side. My friend and I shared the spinach dip - I am very picky about any kind of spinach-artichoke dip product- and I was quite pleased. I'd have liked the toast points a little less crispy, but that could have been because we were chatting and I let them linger longer (um...) than if I'd eaten all right away. Regardless, the dip was tasty. I wasn't super hungry so I didn't get anything else but my friend got a salad with salmon and quite enjoyed the fig vinaigrette which Chris had told me before she arrived was really good. Wonderful service as always and a great place to catch up with an old friend - or for a date maybe? Or to take your visiting MIL? I think everyone would like this place! read more

A Brookhaven gem that we have been coming to for almost 10 years. They have changed chefs a lot recently but the food has stayed consistent and we usually have excellent service. The wine menu is fantastic and they have a sommelier on staff (Chris) and he is very friendly and helpful. They do half-priced bottles on Monday nights. We come for lunch and dinner. The outside patio is beautiful day or night so make sure you sit there. Even in the winter it is enclosed and heated. Entreés range from $20+ and majority are very good. We tend to order our favorite Buffalo/Montana meatloaf but they have many other types of dishes like steak, fish and pasta. The menu is seasonal but we always enjoy the crispy Brussel sprouts- the dipping sauce is addicting. We tend to come here for celebrations or if we've had a rough day and want to have a nice dinner with a good bottle of wine. They have been very accommodating even with our toddler who has been coming since he was a newborn. If you don't love your entreé, come again and try another one. You can't beat the atmosphere. read more

Upscale casual dining. Terra Terroir claim to fame is their fresh, wholesome ingredients. The first time I went to Terra Terroir the menu was simple and different from other Atlanta establishments. Such lamb burgers rather that beef etc. However, now the menu has change for the better. Ditching the potato wedges for parmesan truffle fries and adding wraps was an excellent rejuvenation. I ordered the turkey and avocado sandwich, which was pretty good. The avocado tasted fresh and the tomato was nice a juicy. I would have preferred if the bread was toasted, but I'm sure the kitchen staff can make accommodations. The chilled cucumber soup was delish though. I'm defiantly coming back though for one of their lamb wraps. Everyone was eating them. On top of the good food, the service was very accommodating. I recently came to Terra Terroir with my 90 year old grandmother who could barely walk. From the gentleman serving as the host, to the waitress, the staff was extremely patient and made sure everyone was comfortable. I'll be back again. read more

The parking here is GREAT. Pretty sure this lot never gets full since it's in a strip mall. Don't let the outside look fool you. When you walk inside, it looks so different. Space - they have plenty of tables in the front, a cool bar with 2 man tables, AND a very nice area for the "outside" seating. The seating outside has a roof so it's a part of the restaurant but at the same time, we could feel the current outside temperature. It also has a fire place. It's kind of romantic when I think about it. Service - my party was a little late. Traffic was bad that night so me and my bf hung out at the bar. Every 10 mins the host would come track us down and ask if the others arrived. I should mention, the place was PACKED. So it was nice to know the Host had a good memory for people waiting/wandering around. When the others arrived, the host immediately brought them to us. By that time, all the 4 man tables were occupied (which was fine!). We just had to wait 20 mins. But a bar was there, we weren't complaining. When a table opened up, we were seated outside. It was really pretty. Definitely come to this side if you've got a date. :) Food We got the hummus & Brussel Sprouts as appetizers. These items are my favorite apps of all time. They were delicious. The hummus came with like 2-3 types of sauces. I can't remember. The Brussel Sprouts were done perfectly. That sauce was a great add on. I had the Seared Grill Salmon with Quinoa. The Salmon was good, but I wished it was a little bit more cooked. I rarely eat Salmon but when it was the only item I was really interested in, I got it! I recommend it but maybe done more rather than Medium Rare. I ate everything on the plate. Salmon had a special sauce. I forgot the name, but it complimented the meal. Oh and it was some greens in there. Nom nom. My bf had the Pasta - he said it was ok. Nothing special. I think he ordered the wrong thing haha. Bf's mom had the Chilean Sea Bass - she said it was good, BUT not the best she's had. She's also from Savannah, GA... so she's tasted fresh fish in the past. I don't know if Atlanta's restaurants can compare to Sav's fish plates. :P My other friends who are from the same town as her say the same thing. Bf's sister had the chicken- That looked delicious. This is my second time dining here and came recently to celebrate a friend's bday. We started with the Terra wing app - menu says 5 pieces, but we got 6 (Score!) It has a chipotle bbq sauce (reminds me of McDonald's thai chili dipping sauce lol) over the roasted wings and it was pretty good. Parmesan Truffle Fries - I have a weakness for fries...had to get this on the side. I could taste the truffle but it lacked Parmesan. I felt like I paid $6 for McDonald's medium fries. I had the meatloaf - it was a little dry and not very saucy. Just needed a little more flavor or sauce and it would have been a very good meatloaf. Also, the size of that thing was huge! I only ate half of it...veggies were also very good. My friend had the chicken pesto pasta and thoroughly enjoyed it. For dessert - my favorite part was the bread pudding! This is a strip mall surprise! One would never guess that this quaint little eatery would be tucked between a drug store and a dry cleaner. Both the indoor and covered patio seating options are cozy and comfortable. We ate in the patio for lunch. It was quite popular but I never felt that the businesses detracted from our experience. Our water glasses were always full and our food came quickly. I ordered the deviled eggs (with blue cheese and candied bacon- they change each day) and the crispy Brussels sprouts. Both were perfect. We had a happy, eager server. I would love go back on another day to see how the chef changes the deviled eggs and try other menu items on a bigger stomach. read more

I'm stuck between three and four stars. I rounded up, because my expectations were somewhat high coming in, so I realize that had I been expecting less I would have been upwardly surprised. First thing, this place is supposed to have a good wine list. They tout their Wine Enthusiast rating. Don't believe it. We ordered a Languedoc called "Cuvee des Collosses", thinking there is so much good, cheap Languedoc Roussillon flowing that a place with a good wine list would certainly have scooped up some with ease....no. This wine was not good, not bad, but not good. Just entirely uninteresting. Thinking I was being too hard, I pulled the wine up on CellarTracker and found it rated an 84, which is quite low for a wine of this origin and price point. This was not something a sommelier of skill who was paying attention would have ordered. That said. Highlights? Seared duck breast (crispy skin) salad and roasted date salad were both worth coming for. Negatives? Jamal never offered us any bread for the table. Not even with us ordering a charcuterie plate. Come on. Just cheap. Mixed: The bison meatloaf had an awesome flavor. They actually grill the meatloaf! This beats the Food 101 meatloaf (though you should never get it at Food 101, get it at Meehan's so you can have better draught beer and cheaper prices). The negatives were the temps. The meatloaf comes with a red sauce on it. Mine was cold. Also, I asked for the hanger steak set up (truffle fries and fried Brussels sprouts). The fries were likewise not hot, room temp. If I go back and my experience is similar, I will downgrade to three stars. read more

I was shocked to find such an enjoyable patio in the back of this restaurant. I would have never expected it from the fact that its in a strip mall but don't pass this place up based on looks alone! The patio is covered with a sheer net. There is a fountain in the back which adds a nice background sound. There are fans above almost every table to keep you cool as well. In addition, I saw some great round tables for groups. Great wine selection, but we were still not thrilled that they listed one of our favorites that wasn't actually available. We had the mushrooms as an app. Tasty but very rich. I probably wouldn't order again. My salad was OK but nothing special. However, while we were walking through the inside I did notice a variety of delicious looking fish dishes. The smell is a little dominating to sit inside. read more

My husband and I had dinner here on Wednesday night since we had no food at home and wanted to do something fun. I decided on this place after looking at the menu online - I could eat here often. We got there around 5:30/45 and were the first people seated on the patio, right next to the waterfall. The place was definitely busier by the time we left but it wasn't loud. We ordered the portabello appetizer, walnut pesto pasta, and grilled chicken and apple salad and loved everything. We were happy with all of it. We had the sommelier recommend wines to go with everything - I got a chardonnay and the hubs got a viognier. I thought the pairings were good - no harsh clash between anything. Service was also great, and everyone from the host to the person clearing dishes was warm and friendly. I suspect we will return soon... :) read more

After a very long wait, we had to ask the manager to send over the server to take our order. By 8:15, we still had not received our entrees and we had to leave at 8:30 for another appointment that evening. The staff were very unapologetic that our food never arrived. A Lucky Accident!!! Terra Terroir is a hidden gem. It is in a shopping plaza next to a Rite Aid & Steinmart, off Peachtree Road. It's funny because I do late night runs to Rite Aid all the time and have never noticed this restaurant and I was just shopping at Steinmart the other day and didn't even give this place a first glance. I took a day off to handle some much needed business and when I yelped restaurants near my home this restaurant came highly recommended. I was pleasantly surprised to walk in to this dimly lit oasis. I opted to sit on the patio and got my own little section to myself. The patio is like walking into a botanical garden. It has greenery and flowers everywhere. There are 3 nooks to the patio. One larger space and two smaller more intimate spaces. It has a beautiful fountain and fireplace for those nights where it's not too hot but not too cold. I was told that at night there are blue lights and candles that illuminate the space making it a very romantic scene. Here's a tip...call in a reservation to ensure you get the intimate seating outside. I'm definitely coming back for that experience. As for my drink and food. I was extremely pleased. My server, Will, was sooooooo friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I tried all of his recommendations and give them two thumbs UP. The Rose' was light and crisp and much needed in the early afternoon. Not enough to get tipsy but just right to start off the meal. As an appetizer, I ordered the Brussel Sprouts with the Paprika Aioli Sauce and when I tell you these two coupled together is like a tantalizing party on the taste buds. As my meal, I ordered the Mandarin Glazed Salmon with Sugar Snap Peas but instead of the Wild Rice I decided upon the Truffle Fries. Everything was cooked to perfection. The Salmon was moist and tender and the snap peas were delicious. My only complaint would be to add more Truffle to the fries. It would kick the flavor up that much more. Finally, the bathroom...It is the cleanest bathroom I've EVER been in. Like cleaner than the doctor's office.lol It was not just clean but it was new. For for this restaurant to be 13 years old everything form the flooring to the seating looks relatively new. This place is so unassuming from the outside, but it has one of the best patios I've ever experienced in Atlanta (the inside is very nice, as well) . I drive past it every day and have always been curious. I'm so glad I checked it out. The back patio is just beautifully done, you'd never guess you were behind a shopping center. Also a private area of the patio can be reserved for parties. We ordered the tuna tartar appetizer special - yum! My boyfriend had grouper and brussel sprouts. The fish was amazing and the veggies perfectly cooked. They also have a decent wine selection. The only reason I took off a star was my pasta was a little heavier than it needed to be, it came out completely covered in parmasean (and I loooove cheese, it was simply too much.) My friends and I had the BEST time here for a GNO for food and drinks. They had a bit of a problem finding my name but thats OK; it gave us a reason to hang out at the bar. And this is where I found my new favorite drink!!! I forgot the name of it but it's "summer" something and it was absolutely refreshing and delicious that I had 2 and now I can't remember it to save my life. The ambiance here is very warm and welcoming with a beautiful patio dining room with soft fairy lights and a water fall as the backdrop. It's absolutely stunning and thank goodness it didn't fall into the pretentious Buckhead scene. I appreciate that it's just a hidden gem with its own personality. We ordered: Crispy Brussel Sprouts - Who knew vegetables can taste so good? They were crispy and taste nothing like it's good for you :) It also comes with an aioli dipping sauce but because it's nicely seasoned, I don't think the sauce was needed. Bistro Mussels - One of our favorite dish of the night! It was extremely fresh and delicious and I remember sopping up the sauce with the sour dough crostini because it was that good. Great choice in bread so that it can withstand the white wine garlicky sauce. I highly recommend it. Crab Cake - The seasoning was fine but I thought it was too much bread in it for me. I couldn't really taste the crab as much. Not our favorite but it wasn't the worse crab cakes. Grilled Sea Bass - This was heavenly on a plate. I normally don't order fish when I go out just because it can be over cooked and too fishy that it'll ruin my palate. But this dish was superb that I would order it again. The grilled sea bass was cooked perfectly so it was nice, flaky and buttery with every bite. I absolutely love puttanesca sauce so it gave it that burst in flavor. Deconstructed Lobster Ravioli - This was one of my girlfriend's dish and thankfully she shared a bite with us for taste. This was a winner dish. There are real lobster in almost every bite you take so you know you're not cheated out of it. The sauce wasn't overwhelming and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Great flavor to this dish that makes every bite better and better in your mouth. Bread Pudding - OMG the reviews were not kidding when they mentioned about their bread pudding. Just WOW. It was so good. Nice and creamy with perfect pudding texture and not soggy. You must have a bite if you're here! We had such a wonderful time here and I can't wait to go back. You can actually have a good conversation among your group without having to raise your voice. It's a perfect place for lunch or dinner for a weeknight or night out for the weekend. It's also very casual so you don't feel like you have to dress to the T to dine here. I can't say enough good things about this place so you just have to come see it for yourself. read more

Had two experiences here - one, indoors, was pretty good, which, together with the good reviews, brought me back for the 2nd, a birthday celebration. The gentleman who took my reservation asked the occasion and the name of the person celebrating, as if he was writing this down. No mention of that was ever made again. I was told there might be a wait for a table on the popular patio, but only those with reservations could get us on the rain forest waiting list. When the four of us arrived, though, (Fri night at 7) we were seated immediately, table near the fountain; not many others were there. Things went a downhill from there. We ordered wine and the PEI mussels appetizer; our female server came back to tell us they didn't have our wine selection, and apparently forgot about the mussels. She sent Chris, the Sommelier, suggested an excellent alternative, and offered to split the upcharge. The roasted brussel sprout appetizer arrived, and we reordered the lost mussels. These were served in their coconut curry broth, but with no bread to enjoy it, even after we asked for some. Surprisingly, a couple of the mussels were closed. When we tried for a second bottle of wine, though, too bad: that was the last Sancerre. Try something else, for another upcharge. It doesn't seem like Broohaven's premier wine bar should offer a wine with dinner if it's the last bottle. Sommelier Chris, though, was there for a long discussions of Chablis and wine regions in France, which might have been designed to distract us from the long wait for our entrees. When they finally came, the Grilled Tuna, Glazed salmon, shrimp and grits, grouper special were excellent. We were celebrating a birthday, so decided to have desert. The server went to check; they were out of cheesecake, but she offered 4 other alternatives. We ordered one of each, but of course, they had run out of one of the others. The bread pudding, though, was a hit. When the bill came, it included charges for an extra bottle of wine we never ordered. The server corrected the overcharge, but the mood was spoiled. Food was good, maybe the server was having a bad night, but I don't think itwas worth a bit over $300 for the four of us. read more

Good lunch spot for people who work in buckhead. They seem to get good ratings, and have several awards and zagat signs on their wall. They have an outdoor area which is covered. No reservation at noon but still were accommodated. Sandwiches with fries were not bad for $12-15. Service was a little slow during lunch rush but the server did check up on us to apologize. Black bean veggie burger was ok, nothing to shout about. It was a mushy party which is weird, prefer my veggie burgers to have some stiffness to it. Goat cheese spread on the sandwich was overpowering for me, but if you like goat, you're all good. read more

The restaurant itself is nice....I really loved the ambiance! We live down the street and have been looking to try this spot for awhile. Located in a strip mall, it looks small from the outside, but they did a really good job utilizing the small space; it looks humungous inside. I really like the decor! Walk thru the restaurant to the patio area in the back, it's a welcome retreat to a bustling city. Unfortunately you will hear a few conversations due to the tight space, but overall, still very nice. The food---I had a grilled salmon salad (just picked a regular salad and added the grilled salmon) My salad was really good! It was a lot of spinach though, so thick I had to cut thru it like a thick juicy piece of steak. My husband had the shrimp and grits.... he said that it was not seasoned--- really bland. We also received hot rolls prior to our meal and while they were fresh, they were lacking in flavor, almost like they were missing the pinch of salt. The butter they served with it was frozen and the rolls unfortunately could not melt it. She only had frozen butter, so no butter for our rolls. The Deviled Eggs were okay, the blue cheese sprinkled on top gave it a much needed kick. Our drinks were the White Peach Lemonade.... they tasted like store bought lemonade w/ a squirt of peach syrup. We were not as impressed with the food as we were with the decor and space. The staff was super friendly and gracious! We will go back another day and try something else and update the review then, but for now....3 stars. Overall, the restaurant is nice and super quaint... but I wouldn't go back... It's okay, I think? I really did want to like it, but for the quality of the food and the service we received, I would get much much more for the price we paid. I would rather go to Roasters, to be honest. FOOD: I had the mussel app with a caprese salad as my dinner; my husband had the lamb chops. Unfortunately the sauce my mussels came in was way too salty to actually enjoy, the bread on top of the meal was not good either. One slice was burnt on one side, the rest weren't toasted at all. The balsamic reduction on my salad was very runny. It was more like a balsamic dressing or sauce, but not a reduction. My husbands meal was tasty, but the meal itself was too small. This isn't a tapas style restaurant; there was just not enough food on the plate for the price we paid. Speaking of prices, I don't think a caprese salad, mussels, and lamb chops (we didn't get drinks) are worth $70. Lamb was about the most expensive ingredient in either of our dishes, but not for the miniature ones that were on my husbands plate. SERVICE: The service was super awkward. The host was really nice and showed us to our table just fine. Our waiter came by, didn't say much, even after we asked a couple of questions about the food... A food runner came by and literally said "You want bread"... Lol. There wasn't much left to be desired after our dinner here... read more

This restaurant seems inconspicuous, and perhaps even daunting, from the street. It sits, unassuming, near the end of a nearly abandon strip mall at the busy intersection of Peachtree and North Druid Hills Road. The green neon sign over the door spelling out the name of the restaurant: maybe French words, that I know my mouth can't form without causing grave injustice to the language. "Tare-uh Tee-roar? Tur-rur? Terror?" I had driven by it at least a million times, always noticing and always wondering, but it always flitted from my mind before I could remember to look it up or think to stop in. But finally, I did. I don't know why it hit me one day, like a slap in the face, but my curiosity finally overcame my flippancy and my husband and I headed here for dinner. We've since returned multiple times. Inside the restaurant is like transporting to... a bistro in in Europe? I wouldn't know, I've never been to Europe. But it's what I imagine it would be like. It's cozy inside though - secluded and romantic. Modern, but still humming with old world charm. The wine bar in the back is cozy and inviting. It beckons you to sit close and murmur to your companion, or make friends with the stranger you now rub elbows with. The back patio: with the stone and the waterfall, the twinkle lights and live greenery, and heaters for nights when the air might give you a chill; the ambiance hearkens me back to my days of relaxing Autumn evenings at old Napa wineries and vineyards. In case you weren't convinced already: the food. Not only is the food just exquisitely delicious, but the menu is so thoughtfully put together - a balance of different foods for different tastes, and assembled in such a way that you can't help but smile. All these things come together to give you this feeling of plush decadence while still feeling so at home. You can sit at your table and feel happily spoiled, while still feeling like this is just an extension of your own dining room. It's a new favorite on my list for Date Night, or when my out of town friends and/or family come to visit. I am not a fancy girl. I didn't grow up with fancy things or going to fancy places. I'm going to start this by saying I feel bad giving it two stars because the food was decent, and it could be a three star BUT literally it was the WORST service I've had in a long time. I went here with a small group (6) for a friends birthday last night. Our meal took 2.5 hours, not exaggerating! They sat us at an awkwardly large table (seated 12-15) and through out the entire meal the manager sat at the other end of the table and went over schedules/tip outs with each server. I have never sat at a table and had the manager sitting 3 seats down from me going over things with a calculator, talking to staff etc, do they not have an office in the back? Another table he could sit at perhaps, it was truly bizarre. The food was decent, it has a healthy slant which is always good. I had some Mediterranean pasta with chicken which was fine, nothing spectacular (I suppose I could have informed the manager since he was sitting at my table...) other members of my group had a lamb burger which received the most accolades, and various salads. The bread pudding at the end was great. Our waiter was so slow. We did notice most of the clientele was 50-60Plus so maybe that works there? It is in a random strip mall, which ok whatever if the food is good etc, but it wasn't. I would never go back here by choice. read more

I love Terra! So convenient to the Brookhaven crowd, and a happy surprise in the Blockbuster strip mall. The food is great, every time I am here I try something new and I've never been disappointed. Prices are reasonable too which is great for lunch with friends visiting from out of town or meeting up for dinner! Terra also has weekday specials...one time they had my favorite, roasted chicken, for only $10 on that day's special... Jackpot! I believe the online menu lets you know what the specials for each day are. Really convenient. I noticed some negative comments about service in the below reviews and not sure what happened those times... every time I have gone, we have had knowledgeable and friendly servers. They also tell stories and inform you about special events going on... some wine tastings, beer tastings, etc... so cute! Except I have never been to a special event at Terra because they feel a little heavy on the pocketbook... although dinner and drinks ARE included I believe, $70 for dinner = slightly traumatic for this poorhouse dweller.. I saved the best for last...THE PATIO. OMG OMG OMG. It is the most beautiful thing in the world!!! To the point where my boyfrend and I, slightly tipsy, started discussing how we could have a wedding reception out there. They have heaters, but go on a warm day/night and you'll be better off. It's green, pretty, romantic, and has a waterfall! Did you read the part about how this place was in a strip mall?! Amazing. Downward spiral from the get-go! I decided to ignore my negative gut feeling about dining in a restaurant that is located in a deserted shopping center but... Wrong appetizer was brought out and it was brought out along with dinner. The wrong entree was given to my date and the waiter blamed it on us. He clearly put in the wrong order but didnt yake responsibility for it. The quality of the food was ok but I ordered the sea bass. This dish was not flavorful, at all. I appreciate the polite wait staff, the wine was good but it seems the only thing this place has going for it is the semi-outdoor patio that smells like W-D 40. I will not be going back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. read more

Terra Terroir is a great place for dinner when you can eat outside. From the street it just looks like any other strip mall restaurant, but it's so much more. This place is a gem not just for the food, but for the patio out behind it. Dining inside is fine, but that's not the reason I come here. I first tried it because it was mentioned in Zagat, and it was easy to see why after we dined there - a fine wine list, great food prepared with a twist to really make it unique and the patio! Let me explain, once you're ushered through the restaurant - which is very nicely appointed inside, I might add, to the patio out back, it's like you're not right off of Peachtree Rd anymore. Instead you're sheltered in this lush, plant-filled enclosure with trellises, water fountains, and attractive rock walls as your scenery. And my service has always been very friendly, knowledgeable and prompt - offering wine selections to go with entrees and recommending and describing in detail how the chef prepares different dishes. When eating there I've had the roasted beets and goat cheese appetizer (really well done - just the right ratio of cheese to beet for my tastes), the buffalo meatloaf (exotic, which is why I had to try it - and not a bit dry to my delight - plus the red pepper sauce on top was a nice diversion from the norm too), and the herbs de Provence chicken. Now, I'm a huge fan of rotisserie or roasted chicken in general, but the herbs seasoning Terra's dish were spot on. And finally, the bread pudding for dessert is not to be missed. As I said, the patio makes the whole experience that much better, so if you're going (especially for the first time), make sure it's on a balmy evening for maximum enjoyment. read more
