The Connections Cafe is located on the second level of what is really known as the Outpatient Center adjacent to the actual hospital. The Connections Cafe is not the main cafeteria - that's the Terrace Cafe - but, it offers a nice option for those having outpatient procedures and it's directly next door to the surgery waiting room. The cafe is open 7am-3pm daily. They pretty much offer the basics - coffee, beverages, pastries, snack-type items, light sandwiches, and mostly pre-made salads. The decor is relaxed and friendly. Most food items are on display when prepared. They do have an overhead menu and they also offer some counter items (like fresh fruits, chips). You can dine in here. They have both table and booth options. Being that this is a hospital, it's fully accessible and the employees here are definitely helpful. They do offer a variety of coffee options and it seems like the closer you get to a meal hour the more the options expand. Prices are reasonable and I'm generally pleased with St. Francis's food options in terms of taste and quality. If you're really wanting an expanded menu, you'll need to head over to the Terrace Cafe in the actual hospital. This really is nothing fancy, however, for those in-house it's a nice alternative. I enjoyed getting a drink and light snack before heading out to work (keeping in mind that this neighborhood also includes multiple restaurant options and a Dunkin' Donuts). Otherwise, the salad was good and filling. My husband had the Big Western Burger which he raved about (and he can be critical). The burger was specially prepared medium rare for him and it was cooked perfectly. He loved the bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce toppings. He gave the burger a definite 5 stars. The table we selected was a bit cold (it was snowing out). Every time someone came into the building, a blast of cold came in. We probably could have moved but the table was already set. The bar is 21 and over only, so leave the kids home. I'd recommend trying lunch. They have daily lunch specials.

(I wished.) It was a satisfying and tasty little breakfast. Other varieties of breakfast tacos include bacon, sausage or ham. But it's breakfast, and I'm Mexican, so I gravitate toward chorizo, which I think is always a good choice. Chorizo has never let me down. You can also get your taco on a flour tortilla, but let's be honest, there was no way that was happening. Corn tortillas are the way to go. Other breakfast things include a breakfast burrito (I'll be back to try that, yessiree), biscuits & gravy, and oats & toast. They also serve lunch items. I enjoyed my breakfast taco with a 16-ounce black coffee, which was great. What really impressed me: My taco and coffee cost $5 and change! What a deal! I felt like I was living in 2010. I did not know Tia's existed before today, and my discovery of it coincided with learning that my great tia (aunt, in Spanish) passed away yesterday. I was really surprised we were the only ones there except for another table. That's pretty much the way it was the whole time we were there the whole time. We decided to get a personal pizza and the salad bar option. I always like a good salad bar. Their salad bar was lacking quite a bit. They needed to put more lettuce in the lettuce bin and the lettuce that was in there was not looking very good and was basically empty in the pan. I asked if they could replace it or add some more. She did that, but instead of replacing it, all she did was dump new lettuce on top of the old stuff. The rest of the salad bar just didn't look fresh. Their choices were not as vast compared to other salad bars that I've been to. The salad dressings were varied and OK or acceptable, When our pizzas came out, they were just OK as well. For some reason, they threw too much sauce on the top of my pizza which was kind of strange and I had to scrape much of it off.
