I haven't had Terrace Fish and Chips in a while, the other location is closed so I was happy this one was still standing. It didn't taste as quite as good as I remembered but it was still yummy. I love the fact that the fish is made to order makes it so much better. The fish was crispy and crunchy. The grilled fish was delicious with grilled marks front and center. Fresh seafood, salad, and veggies! the "seafood" rice was funny because there wasn't any seafood in it... but still good. Lots of fried and fresh options available, even brown rice! I desperately wanted to find a good fried fish place. Terrace look good, so I ordered 2 fish sandwiches and onion rings. The portions of fish was generous but the fish evidently sat on a steam table since the lunch rush. It was so dry that it was inedible. Great place to get fish fillets in NYC with excellent portions and ambiance! I ordered delivery and the service was quite good as the food got delivered to me in perfect condition despite the thunderstormy weather. The food itself was very filling as they give a lot of rice and salad. The fish was quite good and flakey. You have the option of getting grilled fish or fried fish but I'd probably recommend fried more given the name of the place. Cute and casual seafood spot in the FIDI for somewhat cheap eats. I've been twice now. First time I got the grilled salmon and shrimp combo with seafood rice and asked for my salad to be put on the side. Second time I got the Cajun tilapia with seafood rice, salad on the side. Both times I paid less than $20. I think you get a good amount of food and it's not bad but it's seriously lacking flavor, and that's when it makes sense why they're so "cheap." It doesn't taste like they season anything. Even the cajun tilapia which could pass for fried fish because of how seasoned it looks, tasted like nothing. In fact, I originally thought the tilapia was fried so I asked for it and to my surprise, was told it only came grilled. They only fry flounder. I don't understand that unless they're using premade fillets. Also not the biggest fan of panko. Everything comes out super quick which could be seen as a pro but it's concerning at the same time. It was the closest at 77th pearl street and honestly, it was the most delicious place I have ever eaten fish at. Absolutely love this place! I was in the city on Mother's Day for work and found this place while looking for a quick healthy(ish) bite that wasn't overrun with mothers and children doing brunch. Got one of the lunch box combos, this one had salmon, fried shrimp, rice, and a salad. The shrimp were crispy and tender, the salmon was done perfectly and sized just right! Loved the rice with a little hot sauce, and the salad was crisp and fresh! Person behind the counter took my order when I was ready, had the food out in a jiffy, and was overall pleasant in every way! Best part was their outdoor seating is covered and out of the rain and the wind! And all this for right around $15 in the financial district (or close to it) of all places! While in the area recently I dropped in for a late lunch of grilled salmon and shrimp over a bed of mixed salad with balsamic dressing. The portion was huge and so worth the low price for seafood. There wasn't a big line and the lady at the desk who took my order was really sweet I got the combo C5 which was 2 fried whitey fish with chips and a side of grilled prawns. Sadly to say the side of grilled prawns were he best part of the dish. 8/10 The fish and chips were a 6/10. There was barely any meat on the fish which I was kind of disappointed about. A solid place for lunch around FiDi area! I used to come in the store and grab take out when I worked in the area. Few good signs were that it always smelled great in there and always packed. Even on rainy days. I have since moved job locations so not very walkable. I thought why not try calling to see if they deliver to Tribeca area. To my surprise they do deliver to my current job! I'm a fan of Terrace Fish and Chip! Serving large portions of fresh seafood - grilled or fried, and fast take out service makes this a great option for summer Friday lunches where you can eat outside and gorge on tartar sauce like its going out of style. I paid $9 for the fish and chips, which is pretty decent value/quality for the neighborhood. I received two big filets and rather tasty fries. It came with ketchup and tartar sauce. The fish was great quality and I liked the breading. However, next time I'd consider eating half and saving the rest - it really got to be an overwhelmingly huge portion by the end of the meal, especially since there isn't anything to cut the heaviness of the meal. Or I'll just opt out of fries (but what's the fun in that?) There are only 2-4 seats in the place and they aren't comfortable since there are usually a lot of people standing and waiting for their meals. They make each plate fresh, so wait times can be about 5-7 minutes. The menu also includes seafood burritos and sandwiches and platters, which I have yet to try.
