The staff were great. Jared and crew were amazing in accommodating us with our dog as we just came from the dog park. We had the sampler platter with meat pies, hush puppies, egg rolls and boudin balls. Loved the taste of all except the egg rolls as it seemed like boudin balls stuffing all over again. We then split the crab and shrimp boil which had really good Cajun seasoning. Much better cooked-in taste than the "bag" places. The only reason I'm giving this place a four at this time is a lot of our shrimp(1 pound) was cooked a little too long making it tough to peel. Suggestion on the boils, have the crab boil(3clusters) with add on shrimp as the one cluster was not enough in the shrimp/crab combo boil we split. read more

My family had lunch here today, and overall, it was a mixed experience. Despite the restaurant being very busy, we were seated quickly, which was a pleasant start. We ordered the boudin egg rolls, and they were absolutely delicious--I highly recommend them. My son wanted to try the meat pie, but unfortunately, they were out. We opted for the buffalo wings instead, but they arrived without the buffalo sauce. Rather than sending them back, we asked for a side of sauce, but as expected, it just wasn't the same. I had the seafood gumbo, which was a bit too salty but still decent. It included four large shrimp, but I couldn't detect any crab meat, which was supposed to be part of the dish. The red beans and rice were also on the salty side but had good flavor and came in a generous portion. We had hoped to try the chargrilled oysters, but they were unavailable as well. The biggest issue was with the Cajun chicken pasta. Our waitress kept assuring us it was coming, but by the time it finally arrived, everyone else had already finished their meals. In addition to this, menu states that it is spicy but it was not, it was slightly bland. Additionally, we had ordered a side of house sausage that never came. While most of the staff was apologetic, our waitress seemed overwhelmed, possibly handling too many tables. Our drinks were never refilled, and we eventually had to get our check from the manager. I understand that the restaurant is newly opened and likely working through some early kinks, so I'm willing to give it another chance. Fantastic new place. We had the appetizers sampler with the best jalapeño boudin egg rolls. The oysters on the half shell were fresh big and meaty for only a buck each on Wednesday night. Man oh man! You want authentic Louisiana Cajun food in Texas? This is the place! Being a crawfish lover and always looking for places to try it out boudin and gumbo, I was certainly surprised! Walking in, you can tell people have been raving about this new two week old place, but it was sad to see people getting upset over it. Remember give new restaurants grace as they are all trying their best. Well, coming in knowing they just opened, I was certainly excited to try it out. Of course, we started out with 3 pounds of crawfish and we asked about spice and flavor and Jared (bartender) was like NOPE! We only have one kind of spice and flavor. I was like okay let's see how it tastes. The food came out in under ten minutes and it was like no other crawfish I have ever had! There was a small kick to it but the flavor was the taste of the bayou! Absolutely LOVED it! We ended up ordering another pound of as it was that delicious! We ended up meeting Phil and he was one of the sweetest people as he began to talk about gumbo. He was gracious enough to let me try a sample of it, and trust me, next time I'm starting off with that even though this time we had to try the boudin balls. The Oysters are amazing! The blackened red fish was slightly dry. The red beans and rice is tasty. The mixed vegetables were ok but the broccoli was fibrous because it included the stems that hadn't peeled. I will definitely go back for the oysters! Ask for your margaritas on the rocks. Week 2 of restaurant opening. We came early on a Saturday evening, arriving at 5:15. The word is out that this is a great place to dine. We were seated at the bar since all tables were full. The group behind us (5 people) waited at least 15 minutes. When we left at 6:30, people lined up outside. Comes off as a sports bar with lots of TV's. No liquor license yet. We ordered the cold Boudin Dip as an appetizer, and it had a smoked flavor. Entrees were Seafood Gumbo and Crawfish Etouffee. There was adequate serving for 2 people. The gumbo was tasty but not the base as a traditional Gumbo with a thick roux and the holy trinity. The sauce was a smoky seafood broth. The Etouffee had a delicious and creamy spicy sauce. On the 2 entrees they were a bit too salty- possibly the Cajun seasoning, but still quite tasty. It was a fun and delightful experience. Although not super traditional, we appreciate their effort to stand out with their own recipes. If we can navigate the popularity, we will return. read more

one of the worst restaurant experiences in recent memory... it was a Friday night at dinner- hardly anyone there, and one guy was doing "everything" (serving, working the bar, running plates), so the service was all over the place, and he didn't come back for 10 minutes after we got menus... the food took forever considering how slow they were, and my wife's shrimp and crab boil came out with only the potato, corn, and shrimp...the corn was cold, the shrimp was not properly cleaned and were over-cooked, and the crab came out about 20 minutes "after" i mentioned to the server that it was waiting in the window to be expedited (after the kitchen rang the bell)... i ordered the Jambalaya...by far the most disappointing meal at the table...it filled half the larger size bowl they put in, and had very little meat in it (even though it was supposed to be filled with chicken and Andouille), and cost $12... the two other people we were with also agreed it wasn't very good, and one of the two had eaten a lot of Cajun in Louisiana (she said the Gumbo was pretty bad)... everything about this place that night just said- "we don't care" (there was a very lackadasicle vibe the entire time we were there)... our portion of the bill was $37.50, which is insane for the quality they put out, and the service they offered... cannot recommend (Razoo's does better...even for being a chain)... read more

Cons: Upon entering the restaurant it was so cold inside that everyone was wearing jackets I came specifically for the crawfish and have to say I was disappointed, they were mushy and very small. The owner came by and said it was due to the cold weather and referenced them as soft tails. ‍ my husband order fried grouper and sent it back due to it having no seasoning and tasted like catfish, being that he is from FL I believe he can tell the difference. The owner came by and asked what was wrong we explained and he said he could not refund the fish it was $32. Then stated that is why there is salt on the table... The house sausage was cold at the center and returned... When I went to wash my hands there was no soap in the ladies room Had to go ask for some..... Pros The Boudin balls were amazing. Very delicious. The fried shrimp was very delicious and the their dirty rice was on point. Later the owner did return and apologized for coming across as he did and gave a refund on the grouper and house sausage. Walked away with a $70 bill including a tip for our waitress LaLa it was her second day training and she did a great job. Still on the fence as to whether we will return due to the fact that a family member who is from Louisiana recommended this establishment and all of her orders were great. First off, let me say that the food is incredible!! We have been twice and tried most of the appetizers, a few po'boys, the gumbo, both desserts and a lot of boiled crawfish and shrimp. It is all authentic and delicious. Some of it does take a while to get to your table, which leads to the rest of this review: The only issue that I've seen (both times) is that the wait staff...they are super friendly and very helpful...but they seem a bit frazzled and over worked. I have met the manager/owner (Phil) and he was a nice guy, but I've never seen him bus a table or help a server run food or seat anyone waiting to be seated, no matter how busy they were. And they are ALWAYS very busy. He just seems to be shaking hands and telling stories. We literally saw him wander the floor for 40 minutes, not once actually doing any work. The last time we were there, I met the OTHER owner. A younger guy that brought us our boiled crawfish. He introduced himself and we talked for a bit, and then he went back to help the guys that boil all of the seafood. I later saw him helping waitstaff and cleaning tables. As a long-time owner of a business with several years of restaurant experience, I am a little disappointed that one owner is hustling to ensure the success of this place, while the other kisses babies and spins yarns. It would be understandable if there were an actual front of the house manager, but there is not. So, while I do recommend this place for the food, I would advise that if you do go, please be patient with the hard-working staff, as they are not very well supported (yet). And to the venue itself, I recommend hiring a FOH manager to lighten the load for the servers (and one of the owners). read more

The crawfish was over boiled and not spicy, the blackened red snapper was barely blackened. The potato salad and coleslaw were bland. First dine in experience today. To put it kindly we were disappointed. The food was good, but not great. The cheeseburger ordered had no cheese. We ordered gator bites and stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. They were good, but not worth a revisit. The crawfish was good. The real issue was the service. Some of the worst I've seen in a long time. While waiting for our group to arrive the waitress was all over us, but when the last of the group arrived we had to try to find our waitress to get their drinks. She was over at the takeout bar chatting and gazing out the window. One of our party went and asked for our missing drinks but she didn't move. We finally asked another server to help us and she did. I found out later that the service has been an issue since they opened. Apparently they haven't figured it out over the last month. Takeaways: they do better with Door Dash orders, service is poor, and the food is good if a little uneven. We'll be headed back to Flying Fish for our crawfish cravings. read more

Finally after 22 people were at the door one guy yelled and action was taken. No apologies for the wait nothing. Ordered Boursin balls - came back we are out. Ordered oyster - out. After ordering with the limited menu two of our plates came out but they ran out of crawfish for our third plate. Set a timer and our food sat at our table for 19 minutes before the crawfish came out. Being from southern Louisiana you don't eat until everyone has their food Again no apologies. Waters were not refilled had to go do this ourself. Staff were too busy on phones Asked for our check after our table was cleared 12 minutes before. Food was half decent.
