We are visiting Jacksonville for the weekend and saw the breakfast spot Terry's since my name is Terri I wanted to try this spot. A waitress came and sat us less than arm distance to the garbage can. In the picture posted I moved my chair but I was right next to the garbage. The couple right behind us she sat in a booth that was available. As she comes over scraping food into the trash right by my face, I asked could we move. She looked aggravated and said it's going to be a minute.As my partner and I sat in disbelief I tried to figure out why we are being treated so rudely. I don't want to think it's because we are an interracial lesbian couple. The longer we sat there the angrier we became. I asked my partner did we hold hands walking up? Did I touch you while we waited. Wondering if we did anything wrong, and the answer is NO. Maybe our sexual orientation wasn't an issue, but that's all we could think of for the way we were treated. We went on Mother's Day this year. Despite being seated immediately and placing our orders quickly we waited over an hour to receive our food (not very fun with an impatient toddler). My mother and I had eggs with our meals. My daughter and husband did not have eggs. Not even in the useless chinstrap mode. Not the servers, not the cook, not the bus boy. 2) The staff constantly touched their face, hair and customers. Next they cleared dirty plates. Lastly, they brought another person their food. Sadly, they never washed their hand, or even used sanitizer. This place is unprofessional, rude and dirty! We got there about 12:30 and the place was half full. Wanted to try somewhere new and this won out over the BBQ place across the street. There were 3 waitress's. One who seemed to be doing most everything, one who i think might have been in training and one who literally stood around and did nothing. At one point we even asked her if we could get some silverware and she just looked at us with a deer in the headlights look, so we got up and got our own silverware. The food was okay, nothing special. the mac and cheese had no flavor at all really. Pork chops were actually pretty good, the biscuit could have knocked someone out if you hit them with it..... We were there for 45 minutes and not once did anyone stop and ask us if the food was okay or if we needed anything, sure could have used a refill.. The only time we saw our waitress again was when i went to pay the bill... No thank you, no how was everything, no nothing... I wonder if these waitress's think some of us are cheap and thats why we don't leave big tips, or if they realize their service was lousy and that is why they did not get a good tip. We have been eating at Terry's for maybe 8-10 years now. It is a breakfast and lunch place only. They have changed hands a few times and the cooks have come and gone. The food is fair your normal breakfast menu. We normally eat here on Sunday mornings. Now I have seen an uptick on reviews so I thought I would give it another shot. I ordered my usual breakfast sandwich that I always got. It was just like it always was Ok nothing special. I do like an good omelet too now. But, like almost everywhere else the eggs are cooked and then the filling is added later. That makes for a two part omelet. That's what I don't like about places that do this. So it's a sandwich for me. The wife always gets the canned corned beef hash and eggs. They are even cooked the way she likes them sometimes. So maybe I will return and maybe I won't. read more

This is NOT fancy, foo-foo, or trendy; it is good, solid, traditional. Tables are seat yourself and line forms at front door. Counter seats are also seat yourself, even when others are waiting for tables at front door. Recently expanded but still expect a crowd around noon weekdays and most of the morning on weekends.
