What an amazing and easy car buying experience. Scheduled my test drive online for Saturday afternoon, confirmed by email and by call. Joey met us and explained how to use the car. We went out on a 30min test drive, without any of the Tesla staff present. After the test drive Joey was able to answer all the questions we had. I felt confident that this was the right car, and the right time to order. Joey closed the purchase in what seemed like 5mins - confirming which specifications I wanted and walking me through what are the next steps to take delivery. I had an unfortunate experience with a test drive. Other reviewers have mentioned that there are so many cars in the line to get service and the parking lot is tiny that some have even damaged their cars trying to navigate out. I had the unfortunate experience that the car I was set to test drive was parked all the way to the right next to a curb with very little clearance and there was only one lane's width when trying to get out of the parking lot with a sharp turn due to long line of cars. Since it was not a car I am used to, I turned the wheel to avoid the other cars but hit the curb with one of the back wheels. Now it was technically my fault, but I have not curbed a wheel in over a decade and they should have parked in a better spot, pulled the car out for me knowing how bad the parking lot is, or asked me to wait until the line of cars was gone. One of the managers said that he was standing right behind the car as I got in to pull away and was watching as there was a possibility that it could happen. Unfortunately, I was on the hook for $1,500 for the wheel and tire even though I was going about 2 MPH. They worked with me on the total, but that was the most expensive test drive I've ever taken. The rep I was working with (Lydia) was nice though so an extra star for her. Just an unfortunate set of circumstances and definitely soured me on continuing with the buying process for the Model Y Performance. Made an appointment to have my ac clicking noise checked on my model 3 and bad smell from ac checked. Figured I would try this place since it is brand new. First, no one greets you, you have a seek them out as they are in a separate side office. Second, they mention they are a small center and wait times are long. (This will be there excuse for anything I ask after). Ultimately said it would take a few hours and wouldn't do any good unless they can actually hear clicking. Recommended I record the clicking and send them the file. I asked if they could install a new filter instead but got the long wait excuse again and that it would cost over $200 bucks. Lady was a bit snooty/ short tempered about it all. I just bought the filter for $30 and will do it myself. I will use the Costa Mesa servic center moving forward as lake Forest service center is not equipped with decent customer service.. read more

I had by far the worst service I've gotten from a Tesla Service center. I went in one day at 11am and was told it would take about a day, only to see later that day that the app changed the estimated completion time to the next afternoon. No message was sent to me about the change. The next day, I waited for the notification to say that my vehicle was done with servicing, but it never came. I messaged through the app asking about an update for estimated completion time and did not receive a response. I had left some things in the car, thinking it would only take a day, so I messaged again asking if I could retrieve those items. Again, I received no response. Only when I messaged again questioning why I was not getting a response and leaving my phone number did I get a call, the next day. When I went to retrieve my things, I asked if I could get an update on a new estimated completion time, and it turned out, they were waiting for parts and did not inform me. They said they would provide a new estimated time through the app as soon as they had a better idea. Later that day, I still had not received a notification or message updating me about the estimated completion time, so I checked the app, which showed that the new estimated completion time was in 4 days! An assumed one day job had turned into 7 days. Thankfully, it was ready 2 days later. However, once I picked up my vehicle, the map was frozen and wasn't detecting that my vehicle was moving. When I input a destination, it started from the service center, which I was no longer at. I also noticed that some of the drivers profiles were missing. I had thought to try a scroll restart to try and fix everything, but when the car turned back on, everything had gone. Now all the drivers profiles were gone, including my vehicle name. All the driving settings had reset. I tried messaging the service team through the app again and got no response. I called the service center to explain my issue and all they told me was "I don't see why it would've done that. There's nothing we can do". I asked what could've caused it and they said that maybe it could've been when the new key card I requested was being paired to the car. This didn't make much sense to me for being a cause of data resetting. So, I scheduled a new appointment with a different location for a mobile service. They called me shortly after and after I explained what had happened, they told me it was a firmware issue and that the data may be restored with an update, but to manually restore driver information and monitor if it happens again. I asked if pairing a new key card could've caused it to get clarification from the call I had with the Lake Forest location, and they said it could not have been caused by pairing a new key card. They reiterated that it was a firmware issue that happens to Tesla owners sometimes. Overall, this one phone call was more helpful than the entire week I spent dealing with the Lake Forest service center. I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

Why does Tesla hire kids at all their service centers? Attitude and arrogance is all you get. To the service team: it would be in your benefit to realize that maybe, just maybe, customers who have been working with cars longer than you have been alive might know something you don't. read more

My right back reflector was missing on my one month old Tesla M3, I wanted to schedule service but they wanted to charge me $175, $15 for the part $150 for service charge to come to my house to bring the part. I decided to get the part and do it myself , I called and left 2 message for the Tesla service located on 25471 Arctic Ocean Dr. Lake Forest , since no one returned my voice messages, I drove there almost a month ago , a lady by the name of Sophie came out took pictures and told me she will txt me let me know when the part will be ready for pick up , it's been a month and nothing, no follow up txt telling me when it will arrive or that she did order it and no txt that the part arrive, it's been a month, this is the worst service I ever got ,this is not the first service I get from this place , I had to replace the glass roof of my car the glass got damaged by an object not sure how and had to pay $1,200 to replace, very cold service , they don't bother to follow up with you and this time I still don't have the part , I have been driving a BMW most of my life and decided to change and get a Tesla, the car is amazing!!! The service I got until now is very disappointing, really bad to a high class car like that , I am wondering if it's only the Lake Forest one then I should look for another place in my area or all the Tesla service places are like that, hope someone had service somewhere else and can tell me where to go cause this is ridiculous read more

This facility couldn't be bothered to address my issue with the left mudflap pinhole which wouldn't allow any fastener to stay secure, just putting in the slightest amount of inspection effort would have revealed the issue. They returned my car filthy inside and out after keeping the car longer than the quoted one day turn around, not even a courteous paper mat, just left dirt all over with scuffs on the door. They kept it the entire weekend and then had the audacity to say they would charge me a storage fee for being 2 days late to pick it up because I had not planned for it to take this long and had to deal with work. My Uber credits didn't even work during the duration since the window is way too short which doesn't accommodate scheduling issues and I had to get a ride myself. They took forever to bring my car out because this tiny facility is so jam packed full of cars being repaired, they had to move 5 vehicles before they could get to mine. This facility needs to be reevaluated and moved to a more appropriately sized location, customer service needs major improvement, and the service team needs to not lazily give up so easily when a customer specifies a problem. This wasn't an issue at the larger facility in Irvine where I picked up the car, everyone appeared overworked in Lake Forest. read more

I was able to call and get in for a test drive THE SAME DAY within 30 minutes from when I called (amazing). Although I may not be able to purchase the Tesla I test drove until next year or so... My 12v battery light came on while I was driving home and it said it needed to be replaced soon. After getting home and reading about the issue, I did not feel comfortable driving in it. I went on the Tesla app to make a mobile appointment but the soonest appointment was 12 days away! I looked online and found the Lake Forest Service Center which is much closer to where I live so I decided to take it in without an appointment. They told me I did the right thing by bringing it in. Everyone I encountered was extremely nice and helpful. All my questions were answered and they took my car in right away to replace the 12v battery. Why is it when we go to a dealer we convince ourselves we MUST ACT all relaxed but things can actually be a little chaotic? On top of that, the idea of walking into an electric car "store" like Tesla which was a bit different from your typical dealer. Maybe it's just me. In my case with the team at Lake Forest Tesla, they were helpful from the time I walked up. The store manager and sales team were friendly, got me going in the right direction, answered my questions and kept me informed of what was going on each step of the way (Jake helped me). Everyone seemed interested and attentive to all of the guests who were there (and it was pretty busy). They follow safe and sanitary guidelines as well. Maybe we all won't have the same experience, even with the same person, but for my first interaction with Tesla...thank you Lake Forest Tesla team. read more

I couldn't believe how easy and not stressful this large purchase was, obviously I was a little nervous at first considering the amount I was about to spend on a Tesla Y. Was greeted by a nice guy. From there it went downhill. No parking available. With appt, service writer stated we need to keep your car all day just to look at 1 item. He said all his bays are full of cars. Then. Mr. Musk,, dont accept more appointments if this location cant keep up. Big building, in the wrong place with no amenities around. No loaner cars, but stated that on the day before an appointment. Uber credits, is that the alternative?. I bet I would have burned through that just trying to pickup my kid from school. Do not go here unless you have a 2nd car. 2 out of the 3 employees I dealt with had no clue about cars. But they were great at punching keys on that laptop. I was very happy with the excellent service I received when I purchased my Tesla about 3-4 months ago. I feel that they could have done a better job thoroughly checking the car before it was delivered because there was some issues shortly after purchasing the car. It is very difficult to get ahold of a rep when calling the main number. They are always very busy which is wonderful but they could use more help. The few times I brought the car in to be serviced there was a long line of customers waiting to be helped and there were no loaner cars available but Uber vouchers were provided. Tesla Lake Forest has limited space and should expand to a larger location such as Irvine Auto Center. I understand there are limitations with Covid but I have a car with another manufacturer and there is always someone answering the phone, several people available to assist, and a loaner car is always available. read more
