Placed a to go order for two Diabla chickens and paid 41$ the order didn't come with any tortillas after they had said it comes with the order. I had been waiting for 30 mins in the restaurant for the order almost fell asleep on their couch. We will not be coming back. We were a group of 9 and had 2 handicapped yet they were not accommodating. Even after trying to see if we can get switched to a spot we saw was Empty and remained empty the whole time we were dinning. Apart from having the waitress move two of our friends to get to a closet behind them twice and a third time we finally spoke up as they were eating. Service was horrible. Food was alright. Definitely not worth coming back after the treatment we had. Do not recommend. read more

We were with a group of 8 so I was too distracted to take any pictures. Everyone was real happy with their selections. I ordered Tacos Del Mar with one shrimp garlic sauce, one fish spicy lime sauce. They weren't able to split it so ended up with just the shrimp garlic sauce - didn't disappoint. Fresh and delicious, rice and beans very tasty too. Food was excellent! Worth 4-5 stars. Service was not great. The server brought our tortillas after we were over halfway done. When she finally brought them over she said sorry she has a bigger group. She went to get our check. Never came back. Finally another server noticed and came and got it got us. I mentioned to her the service was bad. She told the manager who comped my margarita. That was nice. Ordering from this place on DoorDash continues to be frustrating. They always have to call to clarify the order. For example they always have to call to ask about sauce on enchiladas. Service was very difficult came on a Friday not too busy service was very slow and one of my friend's food didn't even come out till the end after dinner. Although we've split the check multiple times before this time it was extremely difficult charged us for different things that we didn't order and got our order mixed up when we tried helping figure it out the worker had attitude and raised voice and just wanted us to pay whatever and leave. I have been up for work for a few weeks being near Hotel walking distance. I have gone a couple times first time it was ok i had the caldo de pollo not my fave because tomatoes in it not traditional. On that note gave it a second chance with a co worker and the green chile rellenos so delicious . Service ok , lil pricy and servers nice but not as perfesional my co worker ordered a hot sauce and she charged me and co worker each $1.50 for it . I didnt order the sauce co worker did. Girls should have have given us common courtesy and mention the $1.50 charge in my opinion made the restaurant lower class and shady . read more

I went to this restaurant for a family birthday dinner and was wowed!! As soon as we walked in this amazing sweet young lady named Mia greeted us with a big smile and wrote down all of our accommodations. She was very kind and attentive, she walked us to our table and got us everything we needed. The street corn enchiladas were so good!! Went to their new location expecting the same experience as before and was pretty disappointed. We went during a slow time only 3 or 4 other tables occupied, drinks took forever and when they were brought they forgot acouple. 15 mins after being seated we weren't giving menus so I went and grabbed them from the hostess stand. She finally came back and we ordered our food which took longer than usual but in that whole time she never came back to check on us to see if we needed refills on drinks or chips which we did need. But all that could of been excused if the food was like before. Ordered the Camarones Jalisco and man did they get skimpy on the shrimp and the tortillas which before seemed like they were hand made was some regular tortillas. Not sure if they're cutting corners to save money or new management but yeah not worth the drive anymore. read more

I don't think I've ever had this bad of service. It was terrible from the beginning to the end. The hostess told us it was a 20 min wait but we were actually seated about 45 min later because she was seating other people that got there later before us. It wasn't like she forgot or didn't see us because she would look directly at us and then still proceed to seat other people. We didn't get seated until we stood right in front of her. When we finally got seated, someone took our drink orders and those came out quickly. Our server (receipt said Gabby) took our orders for food and then completely disappeared the rest of the night. She never came back lol I noticed the other servers around us were checking on their guests so maybe it was just our server...? I am not sure what was going on with our server, but no one came around and asked us if our food was okay or if we needed anything else. We needed napkins and water but since our server never came back we asked someone walking by for napkins which they forgot to bring us. I asked a second person for napkins and they finally brought us some. To top off our dining experience, we waited around to get our check but no one ever brought it. We went back to the front desk, told them all the items we ordered, and paid. As to the food, it was nothing to rave about. It was just okay, nothing special. Just had lunch here today. Can't say that I will return. We sat in the bar area. Unfortunately we could hardly be waited on. (The restaurant was not busy). After getting the waitress attention we waited again. We ordered water, drinks and food at the same time because it took so long. Water was brought and we waited. Drinks were delivered, mine was not correct and we waited. At no point were the customary chips and salsa brought. Finally food stated arriving. The first order was not anything we order. The second belonged to us. We waited more for the next two orders and reordered the first one again. My friends pretty well had finished their meals when mine arrived, totally wrong again. Went in on Friday with three of my coworkers sat at the bar order a few drinks, 20 minutes later decided to order food, bartender took order, after a while we asked to check on food and she said food was coming, 40mins later we asked again, she said food was coming again. About an hour passed by, the owner Gabby was around, we asked to check on order. She came back and said order did not go through, owner just laughed, didn't offer an apology or did anything about, just stood there. I love this restaurant so much I think there has been a change in ownership likely which caused the food to be different for just a bit but I came back a month or two later after the not so great experience and I was pleasantly surprised the food is back to great tasting the drinks are always amazing and the server/bartenders are so sweet! To say our experience was horrible it is an understatement. We arrived and the hostess informed us the bar area was self seating. We selected a table and no one bothered to offer food or drinks for 15 minutes. We went back to the hostess and asked for a table in the regular area. We were seated and from there it was another 40 minutes before we were approached for our order. At this point 3 parties that arrived after us had already ordered and 1 party was already eating. Another 45 minutes later I wave down a random waitress who then gets our waiter. He informs us that the kitchen "never got our ticket". Almost 2 hrs and you were clueless that our order wasn't processed and didn't bother to apologize . So We tell him we don't want the food to get us the check l, and for our surprise he charged us for all our drinks. Not a single one comped no apology, no food. So here is my honest review. ambiance is the first thing you notice and it's nice, clean and updated inside. We went for lunch today, it was our first time here. We don't live on that side of town so we didn't really know about it until we saw a coupon in the mail. They were fairly busy for lunch and didn't have a lot of workers, this is the norm now since Covid it seems. We waited 10-15 minutes for a booth. We sat down and they had already placed complimentary chips, salsa and cabbage salsa (kudos). There were just two of us but if they had filled the chip basket up, they wouldn't have had to refill it as fast, because we were hungry and ate them quick. My husband commented on their salsa and how good it was. We ended up getting it refilled 3 times before we were done. He ordered the Super Burrito with pork ( carnitas) and it was soooo good and tasted like they simmered it for hours. Someone's review said to try the habanero sauce on top, so next time! I had a Chili Relleno lunch plate, it was not as exciting and a bit small for the (lunch special) price. Just an FYI, they are most often made ahead of time and reheated which is why I've never gotten them crisp (except in Dublin ).... The waiter was very nice and so was the cashier woman at the door. They refilled our drinks and chips on time. I was also told by the woman to try the Corn Tacos next time. She said they were very flavorful so we will go back and try them. It was our second time eating at Tesoro on Lander. They seated us quickly both times and took our orders in a timely fashion each time. Both times it took about 30-40 min. to get our food. My husband and I shared a steak with shrimp molcajete. The food was great overall, with the exception of the guacamole that we ordered for an appetizer yesterday. It definitely wasn't fresh, it was yellowish-brown and had an overwhelming taste of lime. Next time, I will ask if it's fresh before ordering. There is no excuse for not having fresh guacamole with abundance of fresh avocados available in they valley. I expected the waitress to credit us the cost of the guacamole after she inquired about why we didn't eat it. We made it clear that it wasn't up to our expectations but no credit was given, just a half-apology. read more

The drinks are amazing here and the food is good too. However, the service is terrible. Our server wasn't very attentive and seemed to be distracted. We ordered drinks and didn't even get them until almost 20 minutes. After she served us the food, she dipped and never circled back to see how we were doing. She never checked back if we wanted another round of drinks. Which we did. When it came to the check just tried to hand it to one of the children at the table so she can rushed somewhere else. I understand that she's dealing with other tables too, but it seemed like she didn't care. Customers are aware that servers automatically get the gratuity that is added to the bill, especially with larger parties. So, as a customer it feels like servers are doing the least because they already know they're going to get tipped. The restaurant experience is usually 60% service, 40% food. read more

Went last night for a friends birthday. The table wasn't ready. The staff that serviced us were rude. A heads up ladies the windows are clear so when they brought a plate out and the one that ordered it was at the restroom the server made a comment and a rude face walking back into the restaurant (we were in patio). I work in San Diego, and I promise you this restaurant's food is on par with authentic Mexican dishes close to the border. Caldo de pollo was amazing, chicken flautas were awesome, and the Sol Y Mar was by far one of the best dishes I have eaten. My wife and I went two days in a row - no exaggeration.
