    Blackened fish tacos

The Blackened fish tacos were delicious. A perfect blend of sweet and savory! The clam chowder was rich and creamy.

Great spot in downtown bar harbor. Beautiful inside with chery paneling and cool vibe. Service was quick and fiendly. They have an excellent selection of wines encompassing spain, France Austria , USA etc. the wife had the lobster diner. I had the fish tacos which were also excellent. The haddock is perfectly grilled and blacked and it's served with pineapple, blueberries an aioli and a second sauce. The combo was a delight of flavors and textures. One of the best fish tacos I have tasted. Ended with the crème brûlée excellent also

This place has a really good breakfast and quick service. My husband and I have enjoyed this spot every time we try it; it's in a great location right downtown and a few steps from the park. This is a great little spot for a quick bite before you get on the trolley or do whale watching. I've had lobster benedict and lobster oscar here, and both are delicious. Most recent visit was lobster oscar with asparagus and potatoes. So good! My husband had the western omelette, which he also enjoyed a lot. This spot is worth a stop!

Crazy expensive. We were seated right away during lunch hour no wait. Food was good but very pricey. Oysters Rockefeller was $22 for 4 pcs. Service was straightforward.

Came here to try the steamers as was told had to have steamers in New England. I don't think I'm a steamers person, would have much preferred them fried! Lol. Nice restaurant, more of a fancy atmosphere going on compared to other BH restaurants we ate at. Clam chowder was good, felt it was missing a little bit of seasoning and bit too thick. Had the blueberry brûlée for dessert which was very good better than the pie I had tried elsewhere. Good French fries.

Perfectly cooked medium rare ribeye and veggies. My wife ordered the seafood Alfredo and it was very good and loaded with fresh seafood. Atmosphere was cozy and warm as we enjoyed dinner next to the large windows looking out at a rainy evening.

Food was ok and the steak and lobster was good I ate with a group and just went by what others around me said price is fair for the area

The beautiful flowers baskets by the windows got my attention. I ordered the blackened Fish Tacos which were so flavorful and delicious! We also ordered the Lobster Roll and my friend said it was really good. We had the window seats overlooking the harbor. Service was great!

Best meal we had in Bar Harbor. The food here is something else. We ordered the lobster boil, lobster tacos, and haddock tacos. The fish tacos came with blueberry pineapple salsa which was delicious. If you like quality seafood, you'll like this place. The service was great as well. Check it out for yourself!

My daughter and I stumbled into this place on a rainy afternoon. The waitress was absolutely delightful. She saw we were freezing and suggested the perfect gf meal for me on a day like this, tomato soup and lobster grilled cheese. Wow, amazing and being gf I don't remember the last time I had a grilled cheese with lobster no less. My daughter tried the beer flight and fish tacos, she was quite pleased. Give this place a try it was great.

Amazing! Delicious early dinner after biking in the park all day! The haddock was divine and bolognese for my husband equally delish Our server Sammie - wonderful! Key to a restaurant experience. A must try! A repeat worthy spot - even for vacationers

Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. Every fish is paired with meat. In a lobster town. Truffle aioli on a lobster roll are we in 1987? The apps arrived and the nausea followed immediately. My wedge salad had sweet blue cheese dressing I didn't know that was possible, but here we are -- with a random glob of whole grain mustard on top. For what reason? No one knows. My daughter ordered the pork belly and scallops. The scallops arrived the color of miniature marshmallows not a single sear on them, just pale, flaccid little jellies sliding around the plate. My husband ordered the garlic shrimp which inexplicably contained olives, capers, rock-hard chorizo, and a salty broth. The bread course: three pieces of sourdough for $12. One of the butters was sweet. My sister's salmon arrived on two separate piles of colored gloop one green, one reddish pink decorated with little ornamental dots in a plating style that I haven't seen for 20 years. Something on the plate was allegedly broccoli slaw. It was large, cold, oxidized florets with brown edges that no one touched. My husband's filet came with beet mashed potatoes that were ice cold and inedible, and a steak so chewy it couldn't be cut and was raw in the middle. My daughter's seafood pasta arrived in what I can only describe as a glop of beige glue with fish suspended inside it. It looked like oatmeal that had absorbed the ocean. She was given a cracker and a fork, which I assume was meant to be ironic. I canceled my entrée after the apps. When we asked our server where the halibut was from, he said "I think it's fresh." When we asked about the salmon, he said "I think the Atlantic Ocean, but I'm not sure." That was the end of that conversation. We are well-traveled. We live in New York City. I am a chef and my sisters husband is a chef. We have eaten all over the world. This was the single worst meal any of us has ever had in our collective lives. Every dish had no fewer than 47 ingredients, none which complimented each other. The owner seemed genuinely shocked when we explained what had happened, which was perhaps the most alarming part. He refunded us, and we appreciated that. But the refund did not cover my daughter spending the night sick. Hire a new chef. Write a new menu. Edit ruthlessly. Less is more. A lobster in Bar Harbor does not need truffle aioli!!It needs butter maybe some lemon? We were absolutely shocked this place has good reviews.

The view? Lovely. The vibe? A little... off. The place has that "it could be nice if someone cared just a bit more" feel -- not bad, just lacking that spark (or maybe a good interior refresh). My husband, on his noble quest to sample every lobster bisque in Maine, declared this one the worst of the trip -- and trust me, the man takes bisque seriously. My beet salad with picked lobster was actually quite good, fresh and nicely balanced, which saved the meal from total disappointment.
