I took my grandson to TdB last week. As usual, TdB did not disappoint. The food was delicious. Our waiter, Marvin took exceptional care of us throughout the meal. I will be requesting him to be our waiter again when we return. The gauchos kept the delicious meats coming until we were stuffed. Our favorites ate flank steak, filet and bacon wrapped filet, picaña and beef rib. Honorable mention goes to parmesan chicken. The only meats I don't recommend are the garlic or spicy picaña as they tend to be tough; tasty but hard to chew. We were too full for desert as we ate four baskets of Brazilian cheese bread with our meal. read more

The online reservation options via Open Table had us worried because there wasn't a slot available until 7:30 pm, but our party of two arrived a little after 5:00 pm on a Saturday and we were immediately seated. The salad bar was beautiful, but actually had limited options. There was a small charcuterie section, a couple of cold salads, and a side bar with lobster bisque, Jasmin rice, au gratin potatoes, and mushrooms. The decor was warm wood grains meets delicate crystal lighting. Very upscale vibe with white linen napkins, cobalt blue water glasses, and oil lamps. Our server was very attentive and met every request with a warm response. He patiently answered our questions and explained the situation with the roaming meat carvers. Now for the reasons my review isn't rated higher: Parking at the Mall St. Matthews was a nightmare! Think Christmas time on a movie with angry drivers stealing parking spots. There was plenty of meat readily served, but it was all bland without seasoning, and mostly at room temperature. It was very busy, loud, and hard to hear the carvers when they approached the table making offerings. I never knew exactly what I was agreeing to eat. Desserts are served à la carte, the server brings a tray of plastic replicas to the table and explains the offerings. We selected flan and pecan pie. The pecan pie, was supposed to be served warm, but it was delivered cold. Our server replaced it with a new slice that was heated, but it still wasn't worth eating in my opinion. I picked the top off and our server took it off our bill. From the moment we entered, met our server where he described refreshing limeades to the time he detailed each of the desserts, there was never a menu or price list offered. This was a one and done experience for us. We didn't eat any foods that made us want a second portion. We didn't enjoy the unknown, or guessing pricing. We hated the parking nightmare. But hey, if you are looking for a new experience, or if you want an atmosphere that makes a great photo opportunity, Texas de Brazil - Louisville may be what you are looking for! read more

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We came at 530pm on a Wednesday evening. We had no wait and it wasn't super busy. We also made it for Happy hour. Yippee! It is pricy but if you can eat a lot is it so worth it! The spicy filet mignon was amazing! I ate so much of it! The lobster bisque was also outstanding! Their salad bar is large and they have lots of meats! They can come by very quickly and it can get overwhelming at first but they do slow down. So.... Let's deep dive and do a very thorough review. This is a new restaurant, only open a few weeks... and they have some serious growing pains, mainly with their staffing. The service was good, but our waiter was overwhelmed. I've seen faster, more attentive service at the Waffle House (no insult intended). This is a major chain upscale restaurant and they didn't even have a bartender working. So on service, they get 1 Star. The food was excellent, especially the meats. The salad bar was also decent, but it was haphazardly laid out and didn't have that OMG factor you see at other Texas de Brazil places I've been too. On food they get 4 stars. The restaurant is very nice, modern decor and well lighted. The waiting area is almost nonexistent, and there was a crowd at the door. We made reservations and were seated within 20 mins of our reservation time, that should be better. On ambiance they get 3 stars. Overall, it was OK. For the price, I expected a much more polished dinning experience. I will come back in 6 months and see if things have improved. For right now, my over score is 3 stars. read more

This was my first experience at a Brazilian steakhouse and I wasn't sure what to expect!! We did the whole "experience" which included the salad bar... we definitely didn't need it. We were saving up for the big meal so we got very little from the salad bar, but they some different options and a variety of soups as well. Before we could even turn our card to green we were already being served meats! Everything tasted so good!! The different steaks were my favorites. We really enjoyed our first experience here! Went with my mom and husband, both of whom got the meat service (I did the salad bar option, which includes the hot sides--lobster bisque, sautéed mushrooms, seafood stew, etc.). Husband especially appreciated the sauces on the salad bar--he got two saucers of chimichurri to pair with meats. I loved the roasted garlic and Israeli couscous salad. In terms of meats, the table's favorites were garlic sirloin, tri-tip, filet mignon (the one not wrapped in bacon), beef rib, & flank steak, plus the house special. My mom commented on the dryness of the chicken but was otherwise pleased. The meat service was relentless--it seemed to never not be offered table-side. Our server was very attentive. The table also received delicious crispy fries, creamy mashed potatoes, cheesy bread, & cinnamon banana, most of which went uneaten, but not because it wasn't great (but because the meat-eaters were prioritizing meat). We used a 25% off coupon for one entree for signing up for emails, which basically meant we got a free cocktail. My $7 happy hour wine lasted the whole meal. Tip: don't order an Old Fashioned unless you want the midwestern version with a smashed maraschino cherry. Double-check your check, too--we were initially mischarged (my salad bar "lite dinner" was charged as a meat dinner, a $20+ difference) but it got corrected quickly when I noticed. Texas de Brazil is always a treat and I'm glad that Louisville finally has one! It's $53 per person, so it SEEMS expensive, but really, if you think about it: all you can eat steak/meat kabobs AND a nice salad bar to get all you fixin's! Anyway, we went for my wife's birthday, and us and the two kids all enjoyed the food and experience. Service was spot on, as per usual. The restaurant is beautiful and the salad bar was fantastic. My preferred meats were delicious. The reason for the three stars, the service. Not once did I flip the red to green, which is what the staff should look for? We sat down from the salad bar, and it was a swarm of meats and most rudely, the constant interruptions were NOT requested. One of the carvers was in such a hurry in my slice almost dropped, and I had to catch the slice with my bare hand another server carved so close, grease dripped on my purse and myself. I was constantly shifting from side to side during the swarming is not to have grease drips. I understand the type of service you offer, what I would say, is pace the service and wait and LOOK for the indicated green/red tag that you are known for. No one is going to starve waiting for a bite of meat, you are sacrificing the customers dining experience by pacing it at a speed that is not enjoyable. read more

I really wish I remembered her name to give her a shoutout. The serving staff also we've very nice and made sure to offer you every time they passed. The service was all over the floor but did not come to our table but every 10 minutes or so. Multiple times the chicken was raw. The steak was very tough as well as poorly seasoned. And medium tonight meant a totally reddish blue Chewy cut..even the filet was very tough. The staff was very off and extremely slow. I believe to their credit a manager came to our table and some cooked chicken was delivered but that was all. The beef was very low quality. Have been to this establishment before but tonight was very unfortunate. Will be a long time if ever we give this restaurant another stop. read more

This was our third time going, and unfortunately, it keeps getting worse. The salad bar was good; however, everything else was very disappointing. We've visited Texas de Brazil in multiple states, and this branch is simply not at the same level. We started with a few cuts of meat, but then service suddenly stopped. It took a very long time for rounds two and three, and they barely came around. We essentially paid $60 per person for the open bar and just one proper round of meat. In addition to everything, the staff isn't properly trained to cut the meat, the floor is always dirty, and this is the second time they've gotten my outfit dirty. Definitely not worth it read more

Their variety was limited compared to other Brazilian restaurants, and we repeatedly had to yell for the servers to come to our table. We purchased the $79.00 order to go which we included the lamb chops (AMAZING) and the picta(also AMAZING). I met the manager, Gyasi, who was very attentive, took my order and when I explained that my wife was ill he gave her a slice of cheesecake on the house !!!!! Overall the experience was worth it. Our waiter Marvin was amazing and made the night great. Our biggest complaint was they seemed to have overbooked their reservations. We had one for 7:30 and didn't get seated until after 8. The salad bar was very good with many options. Lobster bisque was a good change. The appetizers were great especially the bananas and the bread. Our favorite meats were the bacon wrapped filet and the sausage. Some of the meats were cooked VERY rare and had so much blood they were in my opinion not eatable. But if you like raw meat then you would like the flavor. We went here for our anniversary. They asked us multiple times if we were celebrating anything to which we answered that we were. Once we were seated it took probably between 5-10 minutes before our server arrived. The server later accidentally spilled champagne on my wife and me. (Accidents happen so we were understanding.). A manager then came over and talked to us and apologized but in a very odd way. He then offered my wife a black napkin which I thought was an odd consolation? The meats were delicious. However, there were some cold cuts on the salad bar that had turned color which did not look appetizing. In the end we were given no complimentary dessert or anything for our occasion. Why did they even ask us then? We were offered nothing except a black napkin for my wife to use both for the spilled champagne and our anniversary. Very odd! read more

They were asked not to serve my wife alcohol and a mocktail was ordered. It was very clear a drink should NOT have alcohol. The bartender was honest and said when asked that there is alcohol in that drink. The manager said they would fix this and nothing happened. They even removed the reservation from OpenTable so one had n record of it. This was our second visit to the chain the first being in Scottsdale, AZ. I think this brand new location is stepping on its own toes and means well but does not even follow up after a major mistake for us. Be careful when ordering a mocktail because you will likely get alcohol. Boo. Bummer. We left without finishing our dining experience. read more

If I was able to give zero stars I most definitely would. Horrible! My family very much enjoys Brazilian steakhouses. Any trip we take, we always look for one to go to and we have a regular one we visit at home. We were elated to hear we were getting more in our home area. We made a reservation for 8 adults and a toddler, 22 days in advance. When we arrived a rude female manager told us we had to move out of the way, preferably outside and wait for our tables to be put together. 15 minutes later we asked about the table and were told again, they were just now getting ready to put tables together. Over 30 minutes past our reservation time we finally were called to go to our table. Our group was shoved into a table that was too small and also crammed into a corner that had a folded door sticking out in the way, effectively blocking part of our table off. There was no way for them to get up from the table once everyone was seated and absolutely no way for the gauchos to get to them with the meat. They also placed the the toddlers high chair at the end of the table, and then proceeded to tell us to move the child every single time someone came near the table. They ask if medium rare was fine as that is all they serve, we said yes as that is what all of these establishments do. The salad bar is lacking greatly in options compared to others we have been to, I was very disappointed in that as I usually love to make a big beautiful salad before these meals. They do have a hot bar, which I do not eat from as it is all high starch filling food, so cannot comment on that. For far too long, no gauchos came to the table. They went all around us, but not to ours. We finally had to ask for the cheese muffins and fries for the toddler and potatoes for the table ( we also asked for the plantains but they stated they had none) as we still had none at the table. A lengthy time into our visit the waitress finally started making them bring meat to the table and they proceeded to only serve a couple near the end and never attempted to get food to the the rest of the table, even when being asked to, they would just go to another table. In a room near us as we sat there waiting for meat that was not coming, we discussed that there was a whole room right next to us that was empty and we mused that it must be for reservations.....in the time we were there no one was seated there until right as we were leaving. And it was exactly the amount of people as seats so yes presumably preset for their reservation, so I know they know how to actually do that. They just did not for our reservation. We at some point actually shifted our table ourselves in an attempt to create at least a sliver of space so they would serve the people on that end, but getting gauchos to the table was a feat. It required us waiting forever and then having to have a member of waitstaff make them come back there. To make it all worse, EVERY SINGLE TIME they finally did bring something it was one extreme or the other. The meat was either BLUE rare or it was well done. So even though it got there, it was disgusting. My "meal" ended up being a pitiful salad, cheesy muffins, one piece of spicy filet that was over cooked, and sparkling water. After fighting for so long to try to get any meat, we gave up and one person at the table ordered dessert. She stated that it was inferior to others of the same type at other locations and she declined to eat it. This has been the biggest disaster of a meal. The same bitchy rude manager from when we got there, came to the table with our check, prompted by our waitress-not us, because even she new it was all bad, and manager lady proceeded to blame everything and everybody....basically saying a bunch of nonsense instead of just sucking it up and saying she was sorry the experience was awful and that is not what they want it to be, like she should have. There were no offers to make it right it any kind of way, just telling us we need to come back and try again when they are not busy. It was just salt in the wound to listen to her basically bitch that it is hard to handle a restaurant when it is busy. We will not be back. We will continue to take my business to Brazeiros Louisville, where we are seated comfortably, the service is on point no matter how busy we are, and the food is always great. This place needs a major over haul and definitely needs intensely better managers and staff. They also need a better location with more space. I have no words to explain how truly disgusted I am with the whole experience. read more
