I called ahead for seating and it worked flawlessly (for the first time). My party was seated almost immediately (and at 17:30, that seemed like a miracle). Server Benson was on top of it tonight!!! He gets 100 gold stars from my table! His friendliness, positive attitude, and smile were infectious! The bread basket and drinks were always full. The food was brought out at the appropriate times and tasted great! Everything was cooked to perfection (kudos to the BOH staff). Benson made this simple dining experience among friends over the top! This place was delicious and the service was fast and great! My daughter had the mini burgers, came with fries and she loved it. I had the BBQ pulled pork, it was bigger than I expected but it was good. My fiance had half rack of ribs and he really enjoyed them but wished he had more barbecue sauce. I can not say enough good things about this restaurant. The enjoyment began with their computerized digital reservation system. Using text messaging on my phone, we waited in the comfort of our car in the parking lot, until they texted us with an available table. No waiting in the lobby anymore! We were seated immediately at a very comfortable and roomy table, and ordered tall 22oz Ice Cold Beers in frozen mugs. They did not disappoint. Then, the 20oz Bone-In Ribeye Steaks were OUTSTANDING! Served with a plump & loaded baked potato, a bowl of spicy chili, and fresh bread. There was no sticker shock when the check arrived, either. The meal was fairly priced. This place is usually really good but when you are paying the higher prices these days and you can't even get a medium-well steak cooked right, it's not worth coming back. I'm pretty sure they didn't grill the steak at all. They didn't even sear it. We had two steaks 1) medium and one 1) medium well. They both came out medium. We sent one back and it came out the same. To add to that it was not seasoned at all. The fat on the steak was still white so that tells you the grill was not hot. I'm questioning if there is even a grill in the building at all. Usually you get at least salt and pepper but that didn't even happen. The steak was bland. This was my birthday dinner and let me tell you, I wish Club Paris was not booked. I'll take my money somewhere else. I took it home and hooked it up myself. I recommend not going here until they get a real cook or are honest about what's going on in the kitchen. read more

As a person from Texas we get a laugh when it comes to this Kentucky based restaurant founded in Indianapolis. From the country music blaring to the staff line dancing there are just a couple things that aren't "Texas" but you can't beat the food or the entertainment. I've been to serval location of Texas Roadhouse and they all are good! The Anchorage local is great! Staff is ultra friendly and really attentive. The menu offers a couple of things other locations in the lower 48 don't. More of local flare. What I notice about the Texas Roadhouse up here in AK is no one throws their peanut shells on the floor. Order a $230 worth of food from Texas Roadhouse to support a school fundraiser. After arriving at 7pm to pick up our order they claimed that we said we were in spot 2 and gave it to the wrong car. The patty was super salty in all three, it's either too much salt in the meat or the cook is cooking on a salty top, basically not cleaning the cook space off between entrees. Went here again for dinner last night and still think its good. I wasn't as hungry this time so I just had the pulled pork dinner. We went later this time...around 6:00pm instead of 4:00 and the place was packed. WE used the call ahead seating thing, and were seated immediately when we arrived with our confirmation number. We had an 18 month old baby with us, so we were hoping for speed (as anyone with a young child knows....hanging out too long waiting for food can spell disaster! ) She loved the rolls and I swear inhaled one. Dinner came very quickly so we plunked her in a booster seat and she went to town on her dinner. The place was very loud so when she got frustrated and started screaming you could barely notice with all the other noise in the building. As far as chain steakhouses go, this has got to be tops. I've eaten here a couple of times and the only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the steaks are under cooked. I've learned to get a medium steak, I need to order medium-well (which sounds wrong leaving my vocal chords). Whatever your preference in doneness, order one step above and it will come out perfect. It is also my opinion that if your uniform shirts say "I Love My Job", the wearer probably doesn't. read more

Terrible, slow service. Our waitress seemed tired and not in a good mood. Long wait for a draft beer, when I did get it, the beer was warm & flat. I complained to the waitress and asked for a different, bottled beer (Heineken). Again it took 10 minutes, she returned with a warm bottle of beer. You'd think since it's been in the single digit temperatures for the past 3 weeks in Anchorage, that the beer would be cold, but no-the slow waitress kept serving me warm beer. That was a waste of $7 because after 1 sip, I couldn't drink anymore... The salad came out with pieces of lettuce hanging over the sides of the bowl. My steak meal was over seasoned with salt... My wife liked her chicken fried steak, but her side dishes were also very salty... and the blooming onion had a lot of oil at the bottom of the bowl. We barely touched it because of the oil... It's another Texas Roadhouse serving steaks and other healthy fare. It's not a bad option when hanging out with friends and you just want to chill and chew. The onion blossom is pretty easy to eat and share. I once came in and accidentally ordered the prime rib instead of the rib eye and was really surprised when it came out. If you want a steak, this is a good start. The cuts of beef aren't always the best but they aren't terrible. One thing to be cautious of is the amount of salt in their food. The baked potatoes are baked with a skin of salt. Ugh. You can request an unsalted potato, do that. Good place to eat when you just want a steak and for ever reason don't want to cook one at home. The bread and butter they bring to the table will fill up the young kids super fast because it is amazingly delicious. I won't touch it. Good, not amazing. Very salty. They do what they say they do. Texas Roadhouse is a beloved go-to of a family of friends I know. They've taken me there, I've taken myself there, so I've experienced the food and service there pre-Covid19. I've also experienced them in the Covid era as a take-out experience. Here's the deal: Food: I have eaten mainly the catfish which I really liked, particularly with their house mustard dressing, which is a tasty contribution. If they were serving fish and chips, this would be the tartar sauce. The mustard dressing is a very good go-with the catfish. When you order a meal, you are given a choice of several 'sides' as in fried potatoes, baked potatoes, salads, etc. For me several of their sides are designed to fill you up but not necessarily satisfy your taste buds. Which brings me to: The Rolls. They are very proud of their rolls. Each customer gets from two to four rolls regardless of what they are buying. And these rolls are filler that tastes like filler. I find them less than tasty, and their texture is too doughy. But try and not get them set on your table or filling the bottom of your togo bag.... Chances are you can find something that will go down nice. For me it's the catfish. But there is no thing they do or provide which can't be found better done some place else. Bottomless peanuts. Like everything else, the peanuts are good, but after a few you no longer want to keep going. One negative experience. My friends ordered a togo dinner of catfish, and the order was provided without utensils and without the very nice mustard sauce. When we told Texas Roadhouse they sort of apologized and said the best they could do for us was give us a chit for a free appetizer. My friends were very nice about it but I found it unaccceptable. I'm not giving up on the place, but it's not a direct go-to for me nor should it be for you. read more

When I want to eat my weight in meat & those amazing bread rolls, I find myself walking into Texas roadhouse. Most entrees include two huge sides and will most definitely fill you up! Once we drove to our location we opened the bag and found out utensils were not included in the bag for us to use. Ate here with my wife, our son and his family. The best ribeye steak I've had in a restaurant in a very long time, maybe ever. The last few visits to the Old Seward location were frustrating. Last night, was no different. We call and follow their text instructions, wait for an hour in the car watching people park and walk right in. We go in and wait even longer while more people come in behind us and are seated first. Then they split our family into separate tables instead of together as requested on the phone and in person. At the same time watching other servers seat other families together by combining separate tables into a long one. Tonight, we walked in and confronted the girls working the door at around 9:00 pm. They claim a text was sent 20min prior. The text was sent with a 9:05 time stamp. They had sent the text just as we were in their face. F'n lying pos. Complaining to the manager wasn't very useful either. That idiot just stuck up for their dufuses screwing up at the door. That's just some of the problems we've had here. Don't get me wrong, the food is great. However, this issue's frustrating enough that we're staying away now. Like tonight we walked out and enjoyed some Kalbi Beef and other Asian food down the street. We usually leave a 15-20% tip for the server, but we're not spending another cent on this f'd up place. read more

I ordered two meals to go. For curbside pick up. When I arrived the order brought out to me contain three entrées instead of the two I ordered. Two of those entrées were completely identical. When I asked why there was an extra the server commented, "I don't know why you ordered two." I explained that I did not order two identical entrées and was never offered a quantity on the website when I ordered. This was not our first time here but it's been a couple of years. Funny thing is, we sat in the same seats! The hostess was very gracious, the waitress knew her menu and answered our questions with ease and a smile. The manager came around after and was very accommodating to our friend who had never been there by giving him a little gift bag of peanuts and a "y'all come back" card.
