We've been here before, the food & service has usually been good, but tonight it was a disaster. Both of us ordered the smallest sirloin, both medium rare. Mine came out medium well, no big deal, just sent it back for a new one. They brought me shrimp as a way to tide me over, except I don't eat seafood & I'm allergic to lemons which it was covered in (not their fault, but you would think they would ask instead of making me look like an ass). It then took 30 minutes before the waitress finally noticed that I never got a steak. I was fed up at this point, having gotten my fill on rolls, my potato & salad. Told them to just take it off our order & give us the check. The manager then brought out my steak, to which I said I was no longer hungry & his response was in a snarky & rude tone (something about how me sitting there didn't make me not hungry anymore). They packaged up my steak to go & compensated us for both of our meals, so we just paid for drinks. Totally fine. I'm not happy with the situation nor with the manager's attitude, but I am happy that we didn't have to pay for our meals. Overall, they're nice. Just be prepared for them to drop the ball & avoid that male manager if you can. Also I am NOT happy with non disclosure on the ingredients in some things. Who puts LEMON JUICE in corn? For a great meal in a very family friendly place I have to recommend the Texas Roadhouse. Probably one of the most laid-back atmospheres in the dining out world. Whenever we want to enjoy excellently prepared steaks, chops or chicken cooked to our exact liking and served with a smile the Roadhouse delivers. No worries about seating your party either. We call ahead with a headcount and try to arrive together so our wait is not too long. We let the seating crew know when we are a complete group and are usually down and ordering drinks within a few minutes after arriving. Don't pass over the Starters menu. It's unfortunate that I have to finally write a review like this for TR. This place used to be great but over the months it's done what most good restaurants do and stopped caring. When it's on point, it's fantastic food. However, that's only about 30% of the time anymore. It never seems to fail. Something always goes wrong; someone's food is stone cold, they forget our appetizer or side, we wait for 10 minutes before someone comes to get our drink order, or (like tonight) they forgot to put our order in and didn't catch it until we'd been sitting, unchecked on, for 30 minutes. Again. Every time I tried to catch the waitress she adamantly avoided eye contact with me. Finally, the manager came over and admitted what happened. It's unfortunate really but it's no longer worth spending $50-$70 (family of 4) just to roll the dice and more often than not, end up with substandard food. My personal limit for bad service is 3 strikes but because it's TR I gave them 6. It's just not worth it anymore. I can understand and have let things go on an extremely busy night but most of the time it's not even that busy. Very disappointed. Goodbye, Texas Roadhouse. What a shame. read more

This Texas Roadhouse offers good steaks and ribs in a lively setting. ATMOSPHERE: This TR is located slightly off Belton's main drag on Peculiar Drive. It has ample seating, but don't be fooled by this. This place is always packed, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. If you have a group, you really need to call ahead (they don't take reservations) to get in the queue faster. If you think it's safe to show up at 830PM on a Friday night, you're wrong. The place will still be very busy. SERVICE: The wait staff here are always friendly. I've had both table side service and sat at the bar, and both have been good. I do prefer to sit at the bar where I can view multiple TVs. You'll definitely enjoy being served by Holly Jo and Ali who are undoubtedly this location's best bartenders. If you can't have a fun conversation with them, you have the personality of a rock. FOOD: TR offers great steaks, ribs, shrimp, and chicken. I'd recommend staying away from the burgers because you can get those anywhere. They taste just fine, but if you go to a TR you should go for the gold. I particularly enjoy their Texas-sized combos. Nothing beats a medium rare sirloin paired with half a rack of ribs and a couple sides (the chili and caesasr salad are my favorite). I also recommend their prime rib which comes out very flavorful and tender. VALUE: TR isn't what one would call cheap, but it's not horrendously overpriced either. Had dinner last night (March 2, 2020) at this location. Great service, food was great. I had to send my chicken back because it was undercooked. They had a new plate out within 5-7 minutes and it was delicious! They were very apologetic about the chicken. I was also apologetic, as I hate complaining about an issue. But they handled it professionally and were courteous about it. Still gets 5 stars because of the way they handled the situation. Mistakes happen, it is all about how to react and resolve. For me to give a chain a 4 star means that they did a phenomenal job. They came real close to that, but not enough for me to feel comfortable with the 4. But better than 3. The skinny: They were supper conservative on their wait times. We got in with a party of 6 at least 30 minutes early than they quoted me, Call ahead was easy. The food was good and the service was attentive. You could tell that the trainers were still there. Excellent opening week. Some details: When I called in they quoted me 55 minutes. I got there 20 minutes later and they said, "sorry, but it is going to still be 50 minutes" I told them that it was ok, that my family wouldn't be there for 30 minutes. I got buzzed 5 minutes later. I continued to give up my table until they walked in and were seated immediately. Worked perfectly. The food was great. I would even say better than the competition in town. I got my daughter the Filet and she likes it M/R and against my wife's recommendations (she suggested that I order it butterflied m/r) I ordered it just m/r. My reasoning was that we normally have to send steaks back because they are over cooked. Well, this time we did send it back and have them butterfly it and it was still red in the center.
