Traveling the US whenever I find a Texas Roadhouse and if it's located where I'm staying I always have to enjoy a delicious and priced just right. However, this evening I had my first disappointing meal. I ordered an 11oz sirloin. Consistently I have always found the meat, tender and juicy until today. My wife ordered her steak without seasoning due to dietary requirements. Both steaks were cooked correctly however my steak was also mistakenly prepared without seasoning. The manager had a new steak prepared which took 15 minutes. The steak was cooked correctly however I had all I could do to chew the meat. In addition, the meat was riddled with several tendon like strands and chunks of gristle. I should have returned it but my wife was just about to finish her meal. I did show the server the uneatable chucks of steak and the response was "well some pieces of meat are like that". In the future I will make several cuts in my steak and take a bite to make sure the steak is edible. read more

This is not my first interaction with this restaurant that has gone this way... but tonight I took my sons here. I checked in online and it said they had a 20 min wait. We got there in 15 min, checked in and waited... waited some more and waited more. Over an hour later I went to ask. They gave me all sort of excuses. Over 2 hrs we were in the restaurant. I asked for a box and some rolls... waited and waited. We finally left. Make sure you have PLENTY of time if you want to eat here. read more

Awful, awful experience here. I took my wife here for her birthday, and it's not as good as other experiences I've had at different Texas Roadhouses'. I told the waitress it was her birthday and she responded "okay" and walked away. My steak was so undercooked that the fat could not be cut. I had to send it back just to get it to medium rare. My friend and I had very high hopes of satisfying my taste for steak (don't eat too often) and her taste for ribs... we were both disappointed. In fact, I was so disappointed that I will not bother going back. Her ribs were dry. My steak was under seasoned and dry. When we complained to the manager on duty, he made us feel we were inconveniencing him... He stood there with a blank, bored expression on his face, never saying a word until I told him that he's making me feel as if I'm annoying him, so I'll just eat the steak that I have... at that he livened up A BIT, but for sure if he had a class in customer service, he must have failed miserably; OOOR he was having a bad day. Since I don't know which one it was, I have to rely on my experience, which was awful. He didn't seem to understand that he's there to make sure we have a good time, a good meal and feel welcomed - he wasn't doing us a favor by listening to us. There are too many restaurants in the area to try - sometimes you only get one chance with a customer and he botched that opportunity. He brought me a steak that I should have gotten the first time - it was juicy, seasoned and visually appealing. My friend tried to deal with the dry ribs by getting some bar-b-cue sauce, but that didn't work. When I pointed that out to the manager, there was no offer to replace them or to bring her anything different... FAIL!! He simple removed them and said "OK" when she told him he could take them away. FAIL!! We had both been to this franchise in other cities and loved the food and atmosphere, but the manager at the Chantilly location has rendered this franchise as an "out of town" spot for us. It's a shame we have to avoid a restaurant in our area that we have enjoyed in other places. Oh, and don't get snookered by signing up at the door for the mailing list and expect your free appetizer coupon in time for that visit. It might work for you, but it didn't for my friend. read more

My boyfriend suggested Texas Roadhouse while we were in the area yesterday. I was doubtful as a vegetarian I would be able to enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised this was not the case. Although, the vegetarian and fish selection is limited there is enough for vegetarians like myself. Our service was outstanding and want to compliment our waitress who I think was named Nika. Our bread basket with some fantastic cinnamon butter and drinks were never left empty. Although my fish and chips were okay I thought the appetizers and mash potatoes I ordered were delicious. Our waitress did in all fairness warn me that the fish and chips was not their best fish. She suggested the salmon. If I go back I plan on making meal of the appetizers and sides (or trying the salmon like the waitress suggested). Overall a pleasant experience. (I can understand why it was so crowded on a Thursday night.) I also thought the quality of food was better than the price point (which is always a bonus). read more

Honestly, I didn't have high hopes when a group I was to join for dinner chose Texas Roadhouse. Arriving a few minutes early, several of us had drinks at the bar. Very nice bartender. Mostly the group was drinking beer which seems to fit this place best but they did a very respectable job pulling together a couple of martinis and a glass of wine for our more discerning drinkers. The peanuts on the floor are a little outside of our normal atmosphere but once you get in the groove, it's OK. Interestingly, the bar tab seemed disproportional high in relation to the dinner tab (not that either were high by normal area standards, this place is very reasonable). Dinner at our table included my order which was a rack of ribs, plus three steaks, and two salads. The salads and the rack of ribs won out over the steaks. The ribs come cooked to death, way beyond fall of the bone. Good sauce and the fries on the side were well seasoned. I requested coleslaw as my other side item to find that they do not have coleslaw which is the ideal side for ribs but the side salad was very fresh and well dressed. Overall, the restaurant was clean, well run, friendly staff, cold beer, and a good menu. I'd recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

My co-workers and I visited this place today. I had been here before for a birthday party and couldn't remember if I liked the food or not. I vaguely remembered that I was not impressed. However!! Today I got the Grilled Chicken Salad and this salad was delicious. I dad it with Italian dressing. Mmmmm... so good. My co-workers all enjoyed their food as well. Good for groups. I stopped in late one night expecting a bad mask but was more than happy. Finally a place that knows how to cook a steak medium without burning it. The steak was well seasoned but not overly powerful with flavor. The French fries were also good. Perfect combination with the fries. The service was ok but it was near closing and I understand that the server was finishing up side work. He was exceptionally nice and attentive enough to get the job done. The drink was refilled within reasonable time. He was a hard worker because he went back into the kitchen to help out and the manager? Came over to take our order. This is our favorite steakhouse in the entire DC metro area. We've eaten at Capital Grill and Ruth Chris and they both great too. But for an amazing steak at half their prices, Texas Roadhouse in Chantilly is number one in my book! The 20-ounce bone in rib-eye is my personal choice every time. They consistently cook the steak perfectly, and it's so tender you could cut it with a spoon. The charcoal grilled flavor is off the charts great too! The house salads are crisp, fresh and delicious. The green beans are da bomb. Add to that a staff of servers and managers who are friendly, helpful and kind and it all adds up to the best steakhouse on our list! Highly recommended! read more

We had a medium group here on father's day, 5 adults and 3 kids. I figured we'd have to wait but when we got seated it was a a little booth with a two person table next two it in the walkway. I mentioned how crowded it would be to the person that seated us and was told that was all they had. I even made suggestions like "well could we move to a bigger table before our entrees come out?", but I was still told they had nothing. I asked for the manager and said the same thing and got the same answer. How does a place like this not know how to seat large groups of people? The food was mediocre at best, ribs were fall off the bone soft but didn't have much flavor. The steak was just okay. Potato was undercooked and over salted. My wife ordered green beans and she ended up with a bowl of mushy green things with pieces of bacon. It didn't look good and was greasy. Other than the table thing the staff was good was good to us and I gave the waiter a 20% tip. read more

As you can tell by the reviews, this place gets better with time. Been here at least a half dozen times and never had a bad experience. Rolls are excellent--sides are fresh, not frozen. Veggies still have their "snap." The onion rings are a great appetizer...you only need the small one. Steaks always cooked to order. Have tried other items like catfish and chicken, and they were also good. So give it a try. A good value, and in my view, quite good among the "chains." Would return here before going to Outback or Logans, for sure. And it takes us a bit out of our way to get here from Manassas, and we bypass others along the way. read more

Have not had a bad server yet ( we have been 15-20 times the last 2 years) Finally got to try the prime rib which was solid and good for the price. I have to start trying new things but I keep going back to either the ribs or the rib-eye steak. We had a great server last time named JET. Also had a pleasant take out experience a couple of months ago. My only complaint would be the waste of to go materials. I do appreciate how hard they are trying to maintain the integrity of the food when ordered to go but they went a little overboard ( I am not a hippie ) Have to try this place for lunch and happy hour to see if they can maintain their lofty status with me. read more

I'm not a fan of Country Music, but other than that, they do everything else very well. I think that children will probably get a kick out of the staff dancing. There are warnings on the door about peanuts and peanut dust ... you get a bucket of peanuts and I guess some people throw their shells on the floor instead of in the empty bucket provided -- whatever. If you're allergic to peanuts ... be forewarned. The dinner rolls are great, and they were provided when we were seated, which was great. I don't completely understand the point of "pick your steak from the case or order from the menu." They didn't have any T-bone steaks on display, anyway. It reminds me a little bit about that bit from The Restaurant at the End of the Universe where the cow introduces itself to the diners ... but i digress. Waitress arrived promptly for our drink orders. Everything came back very quickly, drinks were refilled before they went empty. I tried the deep fried pickles, served with ranch dressing and another dipping sauce. A bit too salty for me. The side salads were very nice, and a decent-sized portion. The steaks were great. My wife had the filet, and it was tender and juicy and very flavorful. I had the T-bone steak, and it was served hot, cooked correctly for medium rare, and they brought me creamy horseradish on request. The chili side dish was OK, and the baked potato was good too. The prices are reasonable ($19.99 for an 18oz T-bone; $18.99 for an 8oz filet, each with 2 sides). It seems kid-friendly from the number of families that brought theirs. Overall, we've always had a good experience when we go to Texas Roadhouse for steaks. read more

We visited the Texas Roadhouse in Chantilly for the first time a few days ago. I found the experience uniformly excellent. The crowd waiting for a table was enormous, and I didn't mind waiting because of what this implied about the food and the service. This was fully borne out. The food was excellent. My prime rib, full rack of ribs, and all sides were superb. My wife's seafood dish was equally superb. My MARTINIs were superb. April the bartender is a true artist and a world class bartender. I have to give a shoutout to the extraordinary staff. They work under extremely stressful conditions, doing very very hard work, but they are all cheerful, friendly, responsive, helpful. No frowns or tired looks here. All of this contributes to a festive atmosphere that can elevate ANYONE's mood. It shows excellent training. Jackie the manager deserves a major award for excellence. They have my strongest recommendation. read more

BEST STEAKHOUSE IN THE AREA! The ribeye is to die for!...Super flavorful. I love the seasoning they use! You can pick out your own hand-cut steak. They have fresh-baked bread (that is truly baked fresh) and peanuts! Many side choices to choose from...I love the loaded sweet potatoes and steak fries (recommend getting a side of honey mustard for the fries - really good!) Cactus blossom is also really good! Also highly recommend the ribs and chicken critters. Sweet tea is amazing! Pina Coladas are super amazing! Many mixed drink and beer options. Have huge beer mugs! Very reasonable prices! Much more reasonable than other restaurants and quality is not nearly as good. MUCH better than other places like Outback, Sweetwater Tavern, and other Great American Restaurants. Husband and I walked over to the Texas Roadhouse after a horrible experience at the Applebee's next door. (See my review on Applebee's before you decide to eat there) I took my husband out for his birthday. We were seated in less than 2 minutes and we had a very nice server. (Felix) This was my first time at Texas Roadhouse and I loved it. The rolls were fresh out of the oven and their cinnamon butter is amazing(so good that we asked for more) My husband ordered a sirloin which was juicy and cooked to perfection. If I had known it was going to be that good, I would have ordered a sirloin too. I ordered the chicken critters (chicken fingers). There were 6 critters on my plate and I ended up taking 4 of them home. They were huge. The chicken melted in my mouth and the honey mustard was thick and had a great taste to it. The next time I want to go to a sit-down restaurant, I will come here. read more

The service kinda sucks and the atmosphere is a little bit on the dirty side, but in terms of price and taste, this is our favorite place to get a steak. The food always comes out quick. I've been to Texas Roadhouse for lunch a few times and had a good experience. This time I decided to take the family for a Saturday dinner. There was about a 15 minute wait, but I actually expected it to be longer. While we waited there were plenty of peanuts to snack on with no worry about dropping the shells on the floor. As we were greeted to walk to our table, the hostess stopped at the refrigerator case with steaks in the window. I didn't quite understand what she was saying, but I think she was offering an option to select my own steak from the window. Not understanding, we moved on and went to our seats. The booth we had was nice and roomy for the four of us and we were greeted by a really upbeat server. I don't remember his name, but he was excellent the whole evening. Now to the meal. First off, the hot yeast rolls they serve are outstanding. I could just eat about 10 of those and call it a day. Not really. I'm a ribeye fan and thought to get the 20 oz. bone-in ribeye, but since it was my first time here for dinner I decided to get the smaller ribeye with a side of ribs, so I could sample more of their offerings. The steak was cooked perfectly medium as I ordered and the sides (salad and green beans) were just fine. The ribs had a decent flavor, however they were actually a bit dried out. I got some extra BBQ sauce to moisten them as much as possible, but they were really dry. Not a problem though, as I had plenty of other food to go with my cold beer. In the end this was a pretty good visit to the Texas Roadhouse. I'm sure we will come back again. Next time I will stick with steak and order the bone-in ribeye. Maybe I can choose it from the glass case too. read more

Love this place. Great food. Steaks, appetizers, salads. Everything is great. The bread rolls are delicious- served with sweet butter that makes my mouth water. They have good sides as well. I'm a sucker for loaded potatoes, much less loaded sweet potatoes. The Cactus blossom, their version of a bloomin' onion, is awesome. They also have some of the best fried pickles I've had in NOVA. If I'm not feeling a steak, I'll actually get the appetizer platter for a meal. The rattlesnake bites are a spicy treat. The outside is a well groomed restaurant version of the Alamo. The inside is a typical roadhouse feel except it's clean! Which is huge for me. If it's your birthday, the wait staff will prompt the patrons to give you a loud yeehaw while you sit atop a saddle they bring to you. The manager, who's name escapes me, has been there a while and runs a tight, it seems. He's always bustling around to the tables saying hello. The waiters and waitresses are great and are always personable and quick with the refills. The price is typical of a steakhouse. It's a better deal then places like outback, that's for sure! read more

Went here on a Saturday evening, just a little after 5 and was surprised how incredibly busy this location is. I thought that since it was still early that we wouldn't have to wait, but we were quoted a 40 minute wait and could barely walk in the door because it was so packed. The only reason i didn't give a 5 star review is because the waiting area is awkward and poorly managed. People congregate in front of the doors and it's difficult to enter or leave, especially if you have children. From what I've read, this is pretty typical for this location. We only had to wait 25 minutes, though, so that was nice! I understand why the wait was so long, this is the only restaurant of this type in the area. Although they were busy, the service was great and the food came out quickly. I had the Dallas filet with a side salad and a loaded baked potato. It was fantastic and my steak was cooked exactly the way I like. We will be back and hopefully we'll find a better time to visit with less of a wait time. read more

I have been going to this Texas Roadhouse at least once a week for over three years and just love it. I love the food and the atmosphere. I go with my wife and a friend and we are glad to be recognized as regulars.We linger after dinner and we never feel rushed to leave our table; the place has a nice, easygoing atmosphere. Manager Chelsea is always very friendly and nice, and I've never had anything but compliments for her staff. Let me echo the praise for the fried pickles. THEY. ARE. AMAZING. :) If I'm so happy, why four stars? Well...there are a couple of things they could improve: 1) The green beans are mushy. I've seen them on other tables and someone in my group ordered them just yesterday, and they're AWFUL. I couldn't even get up the courage to try them. 2) The service is definitely spotty from time to time during their rushes. Saturday nights, for example, are usually extremely busy. I try to avoid the restaurant at those times. 3) The dancing has GOT TO GO. I agree with another poster when they said they feel second-hand embarrassment. read more
