They simply cannot get things right. Filet salad comes differently every time I order it. Tonight my "filet" was nothing but a blob of fat( since when does a filet have any fat on it)! By the time they brought out a new piece of " filet", my salad was completely gone/eaten. The make manager chuckled as he says" oh here is the new filet for your filet salad, oh opps... guess here's your filet" chuckle chuckle " guess it started out as a Filet salad, now it's just a filet." I never thought I would give a chain restaurant a 5 star review...EVER...but.... This is one of the best meals out I have had with my wife in a long time. We got a gift card from our realtor on our home sale/purchase and took a lazy Wednesday evening to go get some dinner. This restaurant is BUSY...ALL THE TIME, but we were seated right away at a high top in the bar. The waitress(Emily) was there in a matter of seconds and took our drink and app order and in the meantime managed to remember all of our names. We were called by our names the rest of the time there. Our service was spectacular, and the food was great too, and delivered quickly. Even the franchisee came out to see us and introduced himself as well. We just came from here hoping to have a family dinner but after sitting and waiting for almost 10 minutes without service, we left. We asked the hostess that walked by while seating a new table in front of us, if she could find our waiter since it had already been 8 minutes since we sat down. Then my tea had 2 straw papers and a valve or something in it...My Steak salad was missing the bacon bits and red onions that come with it .. My husband picked a ribeye and ask for medium rare, when he got it it was rare and totally under cooked .... This is the second time that we have had problems there last time they didn't cook his steak enough either and when they brought it back to him cooked some more they didn't bring back his potato... the only good thing is the rolls which he loves ..... Went to Texas Roadhouse at 5:00 via waitlist. We ordered steaks with no appetizers. Finally received our plates at 5:38. The steaks were room temperature at best, chewy and dry. I love Texas Roadhouse. It's one of my favorite chain steak restaurants in Texas. This place is the only steak restaurant in a 20 minute radius so it is so crowded all the time and very packed with long wait times. I try to do the call-ahead to shorten our wait. The reason for the lower stars is simply because the wait is very long and the service is average and not as high-quality as some of the other locations. There's a Texas Roadhouse off the 121 in The Colony that generally is consistent with great steaks and good service. This location isn't as great, I'm assuming it's because of how crowded they are. I will still be going here whenever I can because I love steak and love the rolls with cinnabutter, but I do wish they'd open more restaurants and steakhouses around so it wouldn't be so crowded. read more

Disappointing visit. We've eaten here probably six times in the last month. And I'm happy to report the food and service have been enjoyable. Not so much this time. We ordered 3 filets, and they were all cooked appropriately, except my wife's steak was clearly a sirloin and not a filet. It looked and tasted different. We were seated at a booth in the bar and our waitress, Kaela, seemed to be a bartender. She was curt and not exceptionally friendly from the onset. My wife was empathetic and commented to me that she's pregnant and probably uncomfortable and been on her feet all day. At any rate, we didn't hear from her until the meal was done. When she checked in with us for dessert, she asked how everything was. I simply mentioned that her steak was not as satisfying. She assured us it was a filet and pretty much walked away. No offer to comp or discount or even offer a dessert to make the experience more positive. We were amiable and honestly did not complain except for responding when asked directly about our meal. What sealed the review was when some young kid, I wish I remembered his name, came over in the capacity of "a manager," I guess after being updated by Kaela, and actually said the words, "not all cows are perfect." I had to ask what he said again, because I couldn't believe it came out of his mouth. I rarely leave reviews but the smugness of this kid and indifference of the waiter/bartender/server demanded it. I'm a generous tipper, even with mediocre service, but I literally left my very first NO tip. And justifiably so. I doubt we'll be back. And if so, definitely not for awhile. I was surprised to see all the negative reviews on yelp... but now I understand why. What a shame. We were seated very early in the evening a little before 5 pm in what I would call the main thoroughfare right next to the hostess station. We sat there for 10 minutes while other people were seated and waited on and brought drinks, had their orders taken and we waited. I finally asked my wife if I should check with the hostess when a nice young lady checked in with us and said I'm not sure why you are seated here? Well it was a booth in a restaurant and we certainly didn't seat ourselves so we were perplexed by this question so I asked her why should we not be seated where we were and she said the area was not being covered. I didn't argue with the nice young lady but by this time we needed to order and get on to my granddaughter's dance recital so we decided to have appetizers as that might come more rapidly. They did not and by the time we did get them they were barely warm and very tasteless. My second and final time eating their bad food and the inadequate service. Please change your name from Texas to Tasteless Roadhouse. I only gave you 2stars because of the rolls and the waitress was nice but definitely clueless. read more

At every single restaurant in Prosper you can sit at the bar with your kid while ordering take out. This chain restaurant? Oh no. You have to bother some poor waitress and mess up her table for a to go order. I can sit at a table 18 inches from the bar with my kid for a to go order but oh no sitting at the bar in a chain restaurant is completely taboo. Other than that the service by waitresses is usually great except for that one "guardian of the bar stools" who missed her calling as a rent a cop. Food is what you expect from a national chain. Ok but nothing that's gonna bring you back once a bigger selection hits Prosper Update: so the manager responded with a link to go to their site to submit feedback. I do not live in Texas. Therefore, this was my first time eating at this location. I ate dinner here on yesterday, 7 July. The wait was about 25 mins, but that is expected and not bad for a Thursday night. The server, Michael, was polite and very attentive. I ordered a rib eye steak (well done) with carrots, a salad, along with a draft beer. For time in quite a while, my steak was cooked as I requested, no pink. My food tasted great. My wife and I have eaten at several Texas Roadhouse restaurants, but we will never eat at the Prosper one again. I have asked for my steak or ribeye to be cooked well done and I have had to send it back two times now. One time one of the waiters even got smart with me over my salad coming with my steak, not before, like it is supposed to, and he still works there. Today we tried again and ribeye cooked wrong again. The manager came by I told him and his answer was O ok. I give this restaurant only three stars. We ordered to go and I get the potato skins every time with the ranch but this time unfortunately they were so over cooked we couldn't even eat them. They were burnt and also had minimum bacon compared to normal. This is a generous picture because they ended up being Inedible. Now we know why we had to wait 40 minutes for our to go order. TLDR the food was OK but the service was a disaster. Our waitress took our drink order as soon as we were seated but she was very strange. Had to repeat a few items several times as she seemed not to understand what was on the menu. 10 minutes later, the waitress came back and asked for clarification on one of the orders. Another 10 minutes later and our appetizers were served but not our drinks. I asked the server where our drinks are and then a few minutes later the drinks were served. 45 minutes after we ordered, our entrees had not yet been served. I got up to find a manager (since our waitress disappeared) and a minute later, the manager brought out our entrees and said something like she'd check into why it took so long for the entrees to come out. The manager never came back. One of our kids fell asleep from waiting so long and never got to eat his food. I ordered a steak medium rare and it was served medium to medium-well. The waitress never came back to check on us so that I could point out the problem. We ordered a drink from the bar and the drink didn't show up until 20 minutes later and long after we were done eating. After waiting 20 minutes for the bar drink, I asked again to talk to a manager and a manager never showed up. After an hour and a half, we finally got the check. I expected something to be taken off of it, like the bar drink that showed up after we were done, or the entree for my kid who fell asleep. Nothing was taken off the check even though I complained repeatedly about the bad service and asked several times for a manager. read more

All in all, I think I could have a better experience than this one. This is the first time I've ever been to Texas Roadhouse. My boyfriend loves some of the other locations, so we both were really excited to experience it together. It started off great. Although it looked busy, we were able to be seated immediately. All three girls at the front were nice, friendly, and seemed to work hard. We got some fresh bread and butter, which was the best thing there, but it started to go downhill. First, our waiter asked if we would like more bread after getting us our drinks. We said yes, but we never got anymore, which was fine because he looked busy. We asked two other times for some more bread to him and another employee, and I think they kept forgetting it. It kinda irritated me because it wasn't too hard of a request to remember. He took our orders - my boyfriend likes medium rare steak and I like well-done. He repeated our orders, so I thought there would be no problem. However, when we got our food, we got the opposite of what we ordered. He got a medium/well steak and I got a medium steak. He ate his, but I sent mine back to be cooked longer. We had to wait awhile to get it back, and the manager brought it to me. It didn't look as good because they had to put extra sauce to keep the steak intact. Also since I cut into it originally, half was extra well-done and some other parts had pink in it. Speaking to the manager was also kind of uncomfortable. She asked some weird questions that neither of us really knew how to answer. Besides our steaks, we both really enjoyed our loaded potatoes (baked for me and sweet for my boyfriend). You can always tell how good a steak restaurant is by how they are able to fulfill your steak orders. When they get it wrong (horribly wrong in this case), I question whether or not I'll come back. Ate lunch at Texas Roadhouse at the Gates of Prosper today. Wait for a table was doable, 10 minutes, but there is not enough seating for guests waiting for their table. We were taken to our table and provided fresh yeast rolls, with cinnamon butter, along with plates for the bread. My plate had a piece of gum stuck on it! When I unrolled my cloth napkin it was dirty as well. I ordered from the kids menu as I was not super hungry - the Lil Dillo Steak Bites and a side of "fresh" vegetables consisting of broccoli & carrot slices. I was told I could only order the steak bites medium well or well done, so I ordered medium well. They were delivered and were burnt and so salty I could not eat them, and the vegetables were not al dente, they were almost raw. I asked for the vegetables to be steamed some more, they took them back and nuked them in a microwave and brought them back out shriveled up and dry. The Manager brought out the second order of steak bites, along with another dish of raw veggies. The second serving of steak bites was much better but I didn't eat them, because my husband had been kind enough to share his steak tips with me while I was waiting on my reorder. Who doesn't love this place? Every steak I've had is juicy and cooked properly! They just need to remember bakes potatoes need butter not just cheese, but yes cheese is good! Service is great- absolutely no complaints about the service! Food was pretty good as well. The reason for the three stars is because they are not adhering to the guidelines for Covid reopening. The restaurant was pretty much full. It's supposed to be rolled back to 50% and it definitely was more than that. I would say close to 80%. They do not stagger tables so you are sitting right next to others. Yes, they put plastic up between booths, but it still felt very crowded and not safe. Our table did not look clean and it was very apparent under the table had not been swept. Given what is going on I would expect the restaurant to be at least somewhat clean. I would not return due to this during these times. read more
