We added ourselves to the online waitlist that they recommended to make the wait shorter; we showed up and checked in and were told it would be a 10 minute wait, only one party was ahead of us. 30 minutes later we decided to check on why our table wasn't ready- magically the same hostess that checked us in says she cant find us on the waitlist, after another 15 minutes it becomes obvious that they gave our table to the wrong party. Their solution to the issue they caused?? They didn't have one they just added us back onto the waitlist and that our *new wait* was 45 minutes. Are you effing kidding me? You messed up and made ZERO effort to fix your mistake? BS, as they told us we had to be added back to the list they're letting people who came 20 minutes after us get seated, what a joke. Hamburger was way under cooked, other food was way over salted. I sent food back and waited and waited while the rest of the table ate. The manager doesn't do anything to engage with unhappy customers as I saw him at the next table re-delivering their wrong order with no apology and hardly a word. My drink order was wrong as well. The food was just bad. How can a restaurant that identifies as a steak place not know how to properly cook meat! From reading other reviews here it seems to be hit or miss. We went there a week ago Saturday for dinner. There were 4 of us and 3 of us ordered Sirloin & Grilled Shrimp and 1 ordered Sirloin & Ribs. Now listen I understand that turning over the table to get more people in and out is how a restaurant makes more money but we were still eating the appetizers when the salad came out, OK that isn't too bad but still rushing us. Then we were only 4-5 bites into the salad and the entrees came out and that in my humble opinion is WAY too fast even understanding as I do that they want to turn tables that isn't acceptable at all. We weren't just hanging and BSing so there was no reason for the super fast rush. Then we get the entrees.... I wanted mushrooms on my steak and I wanted it well done. The person that ordered the Sirloin and Ribs wanted onions. Well she got the mushrooms (Which she is allergic to) and I got no mushrooms and it was medium rare at best. And to be brutally honest the shrimp had no flavor and a poor texture too and we all agreed on that point! I ordered 2 orders of prime rib meals at 8pm, they took my money and accepted the order. I drove from the tip of port Jefferson to get this food. I'm outside waiting it's now about 840 as my order was said to be ready at 845. I get a call a few minutes before it's ready saying they can not make the order as it's a weekend only. I brought up for that whole 40 minutes period they could of called me sooner to let me know so I can order from else where. If it's a weekend only iteam then put a disclaimer or better yet take it off your menu on weekdays as that's misleading. Smokehouse burger was an extreme disappointment. I had been there couple of months ago for steak and ribs and it was delicious. Would have given 5 stars. Thought they would be able to do a good burger. I ordered medium rare. 1st burger was well done and 2nd was medium well. I didn't want to go through 2 more burgers for the chef to get it right. Yesterday I ate at Texas Roadhouse in Selden. The service was exceptional! The food was cooked to perfection. I was meeting someone there for dinner and was running late I forgot my mask in my car and stated Oh I will go back to the car for my mask. The hostess stated no problem we have one for you. Service was good. Food was terrible!!! Large rack of ribs were charcoal black. My prime rib was not cooked right. I wanted it m/r. It was Med well!!!!! Waited so long didn't pay to send it back. Never again!! Prob the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Received wrong order. Burger paddies were black and burnt. Had to throw out my food when I got home. No one answers the phone When ordering online the system doesn't tell you how long pickup times are, only after ordering. Was told 25 mins. Upon my arrival employee told me 5 or ten mins late. Got my good 25 mins later. When I got home my order was incorrect, paddies burnt and black. Food was inedible and had to throw out Tried calling for over an hour and a half but no one ever answered. Next morning I was finally able to get though to someone. After waiting on hold for a manager he promised to make it right......guess what? He never delivered on his promise. I will say I love the food here and the prices are very reasonable but our server Michelle (an older blonde woman, we were told there are two Michelle's) was SO rude to our table. She forgot drinks, gave us an attitude when we weren't ready to order appetizers, rushed us to then order meals, judged one of my friends for not getting gravy, and proceeded to ignore the table for the rest of the night. This was on 2/9/21 and she really needs to be talked to by management. So many of the staff are so sweet and helpful and it was upsetting to have a bad experience at a restaurant my friends and I enjoy. Place went downhill fast. Been here many times and loved it, this should have been a great experience as it usually is. However, it was not. It started off fine, I was seated by the bar, which was OK cause hockey was on. But also was with my older parents and it was pretty loud for them. Hostess didn't notice that? But that's fine. At the table (our first visit and last to this restaurant) were were set in the bar area: the sever did not come over so the Bartender eventually came over for our drink order. Finallyyyy the server came over, I said I wanted an appetizer but my wife want her salad (which comes with her dinner) early so bring our main coarse out together but after the appetizer and after II have the salad (this is normal if one person wanted an appetizer and others did not) then the main coarse. Meant to write this review Wednesday, but I was so stuffed and fulfilled that I fell asleep, this is one of my favorite restaurants for my favorite meal, ribeye steak, had a few hiccups in the past, with our food, we like our food very hot, we communicate this at the start of our meal to the server, gotta say most servers don't give a hoot, but not Brandon at the Seldon Texas Roadhouse, he we quick to reassure us he was coming through, and he did, with flying colors, our food was hot and the steaks at the correct temperature, Brandon told us he usually works out of the kitchen, but was given the opportunity to work the floor, well, he did a spectacular job and earned his wings, his first time out, we had the occasion to meet the owner Christina, congrats by the way on the special gift God gave you, hope the baby is well, well Christina please keep Brandon out servicing customers, because very few have what he has, he cares, Thanks Brandon, see you soon, on our next visit. read more

The same old fried bar munchies, potato skins, poppers, spicy chicken bites. The martini's are very small and not standard size. The margaritas really huge but I didn't have one. Terrible. Did you know there is a 4 beer maximum, and if you order the tall beers then it's a 2 beer max? We ordered our food and requested that our steaks not be put in before we got our salads. My husband was on his 4th beer and we had not been served anything but bread; when he was told he reached his maximum on drinks. The manager told us its a family restaurant and their policy is no more then 4 drinks. We asked if we were loud, disrespectful, or belligerent and were told no but it was their policy. Not much of a review writer..BUT, I had to. I've been to this Texas Roadhouse about 3 times hoping for a better experience each visit. Yet again, the food took over an hour to come out and was all over cooked and cold. We had to box everything as soon as it came out and leave. I've been to plenty other Texas Roadhouse locations and have even worked for one. This is by far the worst location I've been to. Managers are unapologetic and not hopeful. Employees are rude. I tried asking a server for Togo boxes and she looked at me and walked away. In result, I paid $160 to give our food to the dog. Upper management really needs to address this location. First timer here and I have to say I was impressed. We were on the wait list which didn't take long to be seated. We were seated and the table was clean and the restaurant adhered to COVID protocol. They had barriers between each table and everyone was seated within good distance. The environment was cool, loud but not so loud that you could not engage in conversation. I enjoyed the vibe. The waiters/waitresses all wore their masks. Our waitresses Michelle was super sweet and attentive. They even did a dance which I thought was fun.. The owner of Texas Roadhouse brought our drinks and she was awesome very welcoming and pleasant. The food was very good and everyone enjoyed themselves. The chicken fried chicken was delicious as was the steak. The mash potatoes were amazing as were the appetizers. The rolls were freshly baked and very good. We will definitely be back!!! Call ahead wait list was fantastic. Told us when to come in and we were seated immediately. My kids were raving about the bread with cinnamon butter (which was amazing). But I had to keep asking for it and others were getting it as they sat down. We sat for a very long time with no drinks. We ordered an appetizer and then a while later our meals. 45 minutes + later we got our meal (but that's a long time to sit and wait with nothing). No appetizer and my meal had bacon on it, which I had previously asked that they don't add. I mentioned the appetizer and they said they'd put it in but the reasoning for getting it is to not sit with no food while waiting for the meal. They sent back the potato skins with bacon and later they brought me another but this time the bacon was under the cheese on the potato skins instead of on top. I understand because of Covid things may take longer but this bordered on ridiculous. We were going to get dessert too but the kids even wanted to leave. I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

We always enjoyed this restaurant chain. We love the food. We have been to many different locations. We had dinner here a few weeks ago & it was our first time at this new location. We were highly disappointed with the state of cleanliness- it was DIRTY! The staff seemed overwhelmed & busy running around, trying to keep up with reservations & seating never mind proper cleaning & social distancing. The employees did not wear masks, at all & No social distancing inside. Ppl sitting at the bar next to each other, like Covid didn't exist. Also using the same old laminated menus, ours were were sticky & gross...definitely not wiped before passing among guests. This made us second guess everything around us including our table...was it properly cleaned before we sat down...? They pack em in there!!! A feeling we haven't experienced in a long time. It seems the management here has a very lax attitude about the Covid protocols & cdc guidelines. First time here ever! I was shocked it was packed on a Thursday evening. There was a little mix up with my order and they went above and beyond to fix it and make me happy. The wait was about an hour and my children were being a big naughty so we took the order to go. The bread is so soft and the cinnamon butter was delightful.
