Really strange experience here back in November. It was a Friday and I added myself to the wait list during the day. Directly after work my fiancé and I went down to this location and we were told me could get right in. I was in a knee brace and waiting for him to park the car. I simply asked where the restroom was. The staff was going back and forth where to seat us. They were like we can sit you by the bathroom or in a table near the front. They were going back and forth for literally 5-10 minutes about this. My fiancé and I were just standing there stunned. We kept saying we don't care where you sit us can we just be seated? Finally the manager came over and was smiling crazily in my face and backed me into a wall. She was all in my face (during corona) and kept asked where we wanted to be seated. I said I don't care can I please have a seat?! My fiancé got pissed and said there is something wrong with these people we are leaving, so we did. If someone is ready to be seated and had a leg injury and says seat me wherever and you have open tables and it's their turn to be seated, sit them down. Don't go back and forth and make them feel extremely uncomfortable. Won't be back EVER again. I will go to the deer park location where they can handle themselves. read more

We order out at a restaurant every week. It's our "entertainment" so we will spend over 125. as a family and look forward to it. We have gone to Texas Roadhouse in Selden twice. The first time they told us our food was picked up already and then when we did get our food it was missing rolls (and you know, those rolls are really coveted) and sides. We did enjoy the steak. It was very good. We just chalked it up to a busy weekend night and decided to give them one more chance. Last night was my wife's 50th birthday and she wanted Texas Roadhouse. It was a weeknight (Wednesday) so i figured it will not be so busy. We get home with our food and it's missing my daughters sides and sauces the steaks were all over done except the kid's meal, which was rare (really?). This time we went back to pick up the sides and complained to the manager. He was indifferent on the phone. He emailed a $15.00 coupon(eye roll) Keep your coupon, sir. We will not spend our money in this restaurant again. If you are dining in, the experience may be better, but I do not recommend ordering to go. Spend your money elsewhere -- perhaps a smaller, locally owned business. This restaurant is just too busy to care about good customer service and if they don't step it up, will be going downhill fast. read more

The wait time for take out is ridiculous. We were told and hour and a half. We get there at the time they tell us and it is still not ready over 2 and a half hours waiting. This happens alot with this restaurant. Definitely won't be back anytime soon. read more

Took my wife to the Texas Roadhouse in Selden got there at 5:00 they said it would be a 35 to 45 minute wait we waited 55 minutes they finally text me we stood by the on Deck spot for another 10 minutes the hostess took our ticket walked us to a table and there was no empty table then the manager said there was a mix-up so we had to walk back to the on Deck spot and waited another 10 minutes for the new table. The waitress said hi on your waitress I will be right back we waited 15 more minutes for her to come back by that time I was dying of thirst because there wasn't even water on the table I ordered the prime rib 20 minutes later the waitress came back and said there's no prime rib left so I had to get the ribeye my wife had a coupon for a free blooming onion the waitress said oh I'll take a picture of it so I won't forget the check came and she charges for the blooming onion I did not have a good experience was going to talk to the manager but it probably wasn't worth it I feel like this place is mismanaged read more

The warm buttered rolls with cinnamon sugar butter begins the meal nicely. Try not to eat too many or you will definitely need a to-go box.

The chili was terrible. Bread with their staple butter was delicious. Smothered chicken was less than mediocre at best. But service at the walk up window was excellent. Either way was disappointed overall with food and won't be going back. read more

Visited this location for an early evening meal. My party and I where seated within five minutes after arriving. I ordered the chicken fried sirloin steak with loaded mashed potatoes. I was pleased with what I ordered. Good flavors and huge portions. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall I enjoy dining here. read more

I've been to Texas Roadhouse out in deer park so many times and have always enjoyed it. When this restaurant opened closer to our home I was so excited and I've been there 3 times since they've opened and each time has been extraordinary. Our most recent waitress, Jennifer, was amazing! She was on top of everything and served us quickly. The food is outstanding, steak tender as ever, cheese fries, baked potato, salads, I could go on!! Whoever runs this place honestly deserves a metal for worst run restaurant on Long Island. The manager that came up to our table was so out of reality it was embarrassing. I would never go back, never take my family, and NEVER suggest anyone I care about or even my worst enemies go there. Complete unadulterated SALT!!! WAY more than any place I have ever eaten at! Extremely disappointed! Some sides weren't even edible.

I couldn't have been more disappointed.. Although tasty its portion is so meager was like a kids meal.. For $19 you would figure you would get a hearty meal!!! This was honestly one of the must uncomfortable dining experiences I have ever had. I always loved Texas Roadhouse (the Deer Park one). It was always a good experience when I went to that location however, my experience at this particular location was awful. My waitress Paula was rude and said things under her breath, she took my order in which I ended up wanting to change as she left, I waited for her to come back with drinks, it took 6 minutes or so, I then asked can I cancel that order? I would like something else (she does not ask me what) she runs away to "see if they made it" and she comes back with it and says "it was made already" ... (I work in a restaurant. I know to tell/ask a manager my customer changed their mind, can you void it?) ... NOPE not what Paula does. I'm now stuck I'm with the order I didn't want. I'm more pissed that I had to pay for it and didn't want it and on top of that I didn't even like it so, I didn't eat it. After we saw her again we called her over to order meals, she only acknowledge me at the table, took my order and then proceeded to walk away without taking the person I was with, order? We were extremely confused. When we saw her again we called her over so my friend could order... She was actually mad and made it very clear! I'm a waitress and I work really hard to provide good service to my customers. I'd like the same experiences when I go out. I think it's import to be a kind waitress. If you can't, don't be one. I gave only 1 star because the beer was good. I ordered a Steak and ribs with green beens and steak fries. To say the food was over salted is an understatement, the green beans were mush and so salty I didn't eat more then 1 fork full. The dinner rolls that were brought to the table weren't even cooked the dough was raw in the middle. and lastly the ribs.....DRY DRY DRY. When asked how things were the wait staff told me sorry but we hear that a lot WTF fix it!!! Obviously a lower end chain. 2 thumbs way down. How does a steak house run out of steak? Went for the prime rib last night at 5:45 had an hour wait and no prime rib left. The rib eye had too much burnt flavor and fat brought most home for the dog. The side of onions and mushrooms had so much burnt flavor you couldn't taste the mushrooms or onions. The rolls were fresh but had little flavor , must have been the off set to the rest. First time there tonight and definitely the last time. Three 60+ adults went to this 'Big Brother' restaurant and I was not allowed to have another drink until I finished the last sip of my previous drink. Mind you, I ordered my second Bud Light shortly after dinner (and after appetizers) was served. This mind-boggling boondoggle 'corporate policy' apparently is to prevent the restaurant from being sued if a drunk patron gets into an accident after leaving the restaurant (that in itself, tells you what the restaurant is most truly concerned about) and/or to protect children from seeing/hearing adults over-indulging in drinks. In any event, not only is it Insulting beyond belief for a company to automatically assume that their clients are irresponsible drunks, but that it finds it necessary to have to put safeguards in place to protect other diners. On the other hand, I suppose it is fortuitous to know that since the restaurant thinks so little of its cliental, then it's probably a safe bet that you don't want to bring your family there. In any event, three questions immediately pop into mind on this imbecile policy: 1) wouldn't it make people drink faster if you can't have another drink served until you finish your entire previous drink, 2) if I walked there, would the policy still be in effect and; 3) since you cannot have another drink before consuming your previous one, is permissible for a bottle of wine to stay on the table while you're still nursing the one in your glass? As I prefaced in my opening sentence, I will not be patronizing the restaurant again. I prefer to spend my money in an establishment that has not appointed itself my moral guardian. PS: perhaps the restaurant should turn its attention to the amount of sodium contained in its food as opposed to being obsessed with the amount of liquid left in a customer's glass. read more

Let me begin by saying this review is not based off of the food. The food itself was okay. It is the service itself that was atrocious. We did not see our waitress for about ten minutes from when we sat down. The order-taking process was fine, but it was the time after that in which everything started to really tank. Service was inattentive, we were not even brought cutlery until we noted that we could not eat our salad. When the food finally did come out, sides were missing. Drink refills took too long, and the missing sides were mostly forgotten, with some sides not being received until our meals were over and it was time for the check. I don't really think this was the fault of our server, but more on the system in which orders are placed and delivered. It seems to just be a jumbled mess, in which sides that aren't directly on the entree plate get lost in translation, and sometimes never delivered. Overall, I would not recommend this establishment. We spent about two hours in the restaurant on a Monday night, which was surprising because we did not order appetizers or dessert. Something about this needs to be fixed, for the sake of all diners. read more

I have been dining at the deer park location and Florida locations for quite a few years not only do I frequent these locations to dine but I purchase a lot of gift cards every Christmas. I have always enjoyed Texas Roadhouse until I visited this location ! First of all before Christmas I went to this location for 10 gift cards. I was told that they do not honor the bonus cards that are advertised. ($15 bonus with $50 dollar purchase ) ! I left and went to the deer park location where they had the bonus rewards ! On my next visit to selden location I had call ahead seating . Got there called inside . They were very pleasant and called me back when table was ready. However when I went in , no table was ready and this place was very unorganized. Finally got a table. Again hostess and waitress were very friendly. Ordered drinks and food showed bonus cards for $15 dollars off per visit. 2 of us at table each using one as we wanted separate bills. Waitress felt it would be no problem . Manager came over. Very bad attitude would not honor both cards. Again explained to him 2 separate bills 2 cards. Never have I had this problem and poor attitude in any other locations. Didn't feel like arguing. Used one bonus card. This location needs a lot of work. Unorganized. Poorly managed. Wont bother coming back read more
