I've been coming to roadhouse for years and the service is usually outstanding, but one particular time I came in for lunch... and the waitress brought us our drinks,took our order, and that was it. She didn't bring our food, she didn't bring ANY bread at all, and she never refilled our drinks. One of the managers had to assist us in getting our ranch and our refills since our waitress didn't. Texas Roadhouse is by far my favorite restaurant and we ALWAYS go there for any special occasion that's why writing this pains me. My friend and I ate there with our families after the movies one night. We live in Gainesville so it is certainly a treat to go there. First of all the booth we sat in had water dripping from the wall under the booth hitting my feet constantly. I did inform the manager and did not even get offered to change locations. Second, I am assuming because of the water there were these black bugs everywhere. One was on our table and I covered it with a glass, then my daughter pointed one out on the wall behind me and if that wasn't the worst thing, my daughter's friend pointed one out on my shirt. Bugs don't bother me normally but I was eating people. So, next my daughter and I order the steamed brocolli and we had to send it back because it was too hard. After everyone else finished their food we finally got it back and it was still hard. I just gave up. I had to remind my waitress to bring me regular butter on numerous occasions for my rolls. I have NEVER experienced something this bad and we eat at Texas Roadhouse at least once a month if not more. Yes the manager was nice and apologized but didn't offer a discount or anything. read more

We love this location in Sherman. Food and service is always good. Staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is good and what you ordered if not they fix it. We go there a lot. Discount for vets.only problem is food has way to much salt on everything pepper in the corn ruins it for most kids. We would come a lot more except for this. Very disappointed. Yelp said restaurant closed at 11:00. We arrived at 9:58 and were seated and thought nothing of the time. Ordered appetizer and after waiting for 22 minutes, our salads came out. We asked server about appetizer and she said "were working on it but you came in at closing". Then the manager came over a few minutes later and said the cooks had already turned off the oil and it'd take too long to heat it back up and we could have a coupon for a free appetizer next time we come back and that she was going to take the charge for the appetizer off of our ticket (I should hope so since we didn't get it). She then said they were still working on trying to get our meal cooked. Seriously? No mention of anything for 22 minutes and then that? She made no effort to offer us anything in replace of the appetizer, no additional bread rolls or even a desert. Then, just as our steaks came out, the lights turned up brighter and someone starting sweeping right beside our table and you could see the debris coming in the direction of our food. We asked for him not to sweep next to us so he turned around and continued sweeping just in the other direction. Ugh! My husband asked for extra brown gravy for his mashed potatoes and then was told he couldn't have any because they had already thrown the gravy out within a minute of finally getting our food. It was a nightmare of an experience. There was another server sitting two tables down from us filling salt containers sneezing repeatedly while we were trying to eat. Not satisfied at all with the lack of communication from management or server until we had already been waiting over 20 minutes and not happy that something as simple as desert wasn't even offered because we were going to order that as well. MY DEAR GOD THE STEAKS ARE KILLER!!! Cooked to perfection just the way I ordered and done right the first time. The sweet tea is true Southern style sweet tea (that means it's really sweet to you yankees out there). Only think you have to worry about are the peanut shells. They're everywhere. Wow!! This was our first time in and let me tell you they were GREAT! From the moment we walked in and until we left they were super friendly! And it wasn't just us that they were friendly with it was everyone around! The manager came over and visited with us about of first time in and gave us a coupon for next time we are in. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE. !!!!!! I thought this was the best place in town to get a steak. Well that has changed. I have given them every chance to change my mind but it just gets worse and worse. I order the same cut of steak every time the 16oz rib eye I get it cooked medium. The steak was so raw I thought it was going to moowww. It had so much salt it was all I could taste even after I told them go easy on the seasoning. And so greasy nasty This place is not worth the price at all only reason why it got 2 stars is the wait staff was so friendly even after it took an hr to get my to go order. I will NOT be back. I'll just cook my own steaks. For a place that cost so much seems like it would be better. I don't know who their grill master is but he or she needs some more schooling. Staffing is something to be considered. I have no idea who is at fault, but when a party of three sits at the bar and is having a good time on a Monday night only to be disappointed by a lack of an appetizer that may or not have been ordered by the server or may or not have been made by the kitchen when our food comes out isn't a great start to a meal. The food that comes out is also wrong and not enjoyable to the guests also adds to the stipulation that there is a fault some where. I've had good/great experiences here before, maybe just wait a few months to return to make your time worth while. read more

We eat here a couple times a month as it is my daughters favorite place to go. Sometimes the wait can be very long and it gets crowded around the door when its to cold to wait outside. The serves and food is very good and worth the wait. read more

I visited Texas Roadhouse, 2773 US Hwy 75 N, Sherman, TX on Thursday evening, 5-21-2015 as a single patron. I was seated quickly and my order was taken appropriately. When my food arrived, the meat was not cooked enough [as I had asked for well done and it was still bleeding on the plate]. My waitress took the steak back to be cooked longer, leaving remainder of my food and drink on the table, I told her I would go to the restroom and return, and hopefully my steak would be ready. When I returned to my table, all my food and drink had been removed and the table reset for four persons. I was so shocked that I just stood there a moment, contemplating what action I should take. I then sat at the newly cleaned table and waited for my waitress to return with my steak. The manager, herself brought my steak and stopped, looking at the clean reset table. I said, "Yes, I went to the bathroom and when I returned, my food and drink had all been taken away and the table cleaned and reset" The manager offered to leave me the steak and go get me the remainder of my food anew. I had to repeat to the Manager three (3) times what food was removed from my table with my drink. By that time I was so humiliated in front of all the other patrons seated around me that I told her to just put it in a box to go and I would leave. She left with my steak and after waiting 20 minutes at the table, I thought perhaps I should have followed her to the front, so I went to the front desk where I was checked in. After about five (5) minutes, the waitress who had initially waited on me came to me and said, "I think the manager is boxing up your food for you, but I'll go ahead and check you out." I never saw the ticket so I asked, "What is the amount?" When she told me the price, I asked, "So what are you charging me for?" She looked at the ticket and said , "It's .. oh, wait, she might want to ..let me go talk to the manager." She left and after another 20 minutes of waiting, I left the place. The humiliation I experienced in front of a restaurant full of people makes me want to never set foot in another Roadhouse again and tell all my friends of my experience. I am still angry about the whole issue, that such a well-known restaurant could treat anyone with such indignity. You would think that untouched food, and silverware still rolled in the napkin, along with the fact there was not a ticket or checkout folder on the table would be enough indicators that the individual sitting there would be returning. We eat here all of the TIME. it is consistently consistent cold salads steaks are fantastic and a great value. The wait and bar staff are great. COLDEST BEER IN TOWN.or anywhere for that matter. The ubiquitous Texas Roadhouse is just about everywhere in the Metroplex now. The Sherman version is pretty much par for the course. While the food has always been pretty consistent the wait staff seems to be a little friendlier than the other one we frequent in McKinney. Our last visit, however, the around the hostess desk near the front door seemed to be more unfriendly than the waiters and waitresses. They're the first impression of a restaurant guest so you'd think any restaurant would consider friendlier personalities to be an asset. Like most Texas Roadhouses, the wait is a little on the uncomfortable side, free peanuts notwithstanding! The crowds waiting to be seated mill around near the door making it next to impossible to get to your table when one finally comes open and, if you're the least bit agoraphobic you'll understand, rarely give you space. All in all, this TR is a cut above with consistently great food, great table service, but the front desk attendants could stand to be a little more on the customer-friendly side rather than merely socializing with each other. Hey, I know it's a job and you want to have fun but if it wasn't for the people who frequent your restaurant those jobs wouldn't exist. read more
