I am writing this review to speak of a certain waitress at the Texas Roadhouse in Walpole, MA. My mother and I went to this restaurant on New Year's Eve and our waitress was a lady named Christina. Christina was very kind, friendly, efficient, professional and very sincere. It was about 8:00 at night so she had probably already dealt with about 100 customers, but she made us feel like we were her only ones, and was sincerely interested in the small talk we engaged in with her. We have been there many times and have always had good experiences, but this was the best. Christina may very well be the best waitress I have ever encountered anywhere. I've been a fan of Texas Roadhouse, despite the overly loud atmosphere. I love a rib-eye steak. It's quite distinct in it's presentation, so when you're served one, you know it's the real deal. At a recent visit to the restaurant in Walpole, my wife and I both ordered the rib-eyes. We were both served either the strip steak or the sirloin. When we told the server, he brought them back to the kitchen and returned them back to us saying the chef said they were rib-eyes. At that point, I should have asked for the manager or just refused them and walked out. But I was tired and hungry and didn't feel like going elsewhere. On the way out we mentioned it to the manager who tried to make us believe the the strip steak is close to the cut of the rib-eye and that next time, we should go to the butcher counter and select the one we want. Listen clearly Texas Roadhouse.!!!!!!!!!! That's not how I work. I expect to receive what I order. Don't pull one over one me. Sure, the kids love to throw peanut shells on the floor, but did the food also land on the floor at some point?? We came in for something simple - ribs - which should be easy to satisfy. Instead we (my wife, my pre-teen and me) were all horrified by the taste. Giving you more than you can eat (quantity) does not substitute for taste (quality). This wasn't the first time we've been here, but it certainly is the LAST. Any place that keeps getting worse upon return visits needs to be avoided. Great bread and butter. Good atmosphere. My steak had a massive, inedible tendon through it. Worst steak I've ever had, at a restaurant or otherwise. I didn't eat it. I received a gift card, and we thought we would try it risk-free. It is very casual; so you can "come as you are." They have a barrel of peanuts with shells all over the place. The rolls are fabulous and very hot. I had the sirloin with a caesar salad. My wife had the $7.99 steak special. The downside: very loud country music blared constantly. If you want a quiet night out, go elsewhere. This is a fun place. I also had the sweet tea, southern style. Ouback is still number one for steaks. Better atmosphere and better salads. It is way ahead of Longhorn Steakhouse in my book. The service was fast and friendly. I will return to try some of the other menu items. My steak was excellent. Amazing drinks, food, and service at a very reasonable price. Everything here was amazing, our server was super friendly and checked in on us and satisfied all of our requests quickly. Went for a dinner out and decided on TR for a nice steak and a good atmosphere, both were delivered. It's a very family friendly restaurant with friendly service and the every 10-15 minute line dancing parade. Had a nice tall glass of sam Adams octoberfest and a sirloin steak, cooked perfectly as requested, not burned or charred up. The sweet rolls they give you before dinner are delicious and are complemented by a cinnamon infused butter. Also enjoyed an amazing fried onion blossom, which was perfectly crispy but not greasy, makes me crave another as I type. Prices were very good with the bill for two people who had multiple drinks, two steak entrees and an appetizer for $43 before tip...that's damn good. Only downside from this experience and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the fact the music is way too loud, especially during the line dancing by the staff. I wanted to enjoy conversation but that made it nearly impossible, inciting much of our talk to include the scattered "what?", and "excuse me?". I would definitely go back to the Texas roadhouse in the future for the positives definitely outweighed the negatives. read more

Caesar Salad ; very good, I also liked the nice touch of serving it in a very chilled plate Skewered Shrimp ; delicious went well with the provided rice, and I added a little extra Cajun spice that came with my sons steak and that made it perfect. One complaint on the shrimp, and this goes for just about every where that serves a similar dish : for goodness sake take the tails off the shrimp before cooking them. I hate to get my hands all messy doing it myself after the shrimp is coated in oil and spices. I think most places leave them on to have a certain aesthetic presentation on the plate, well the mess on my hands counters that point very nicely . Chile; very good Chicken fingers ; very good RibEye steak ; above average but not the best, that can be found at Joes Bar and Grill in Franklin. Mini blooming onion; identical to that seen in other establishments, my son liked it. Bread ; The hostess and waitress and the service manager did not fail to mention that it's cooked every 5 min .Oh Brother, I suspect that if any employee fails tell me about the rolls that person will be punished. I must say that I really liked the whipped cinnamon butter. The rolls are the very very light type and although very fresh I prefer French bread textured rolls more. The music is a bit loud for my taste and about once every 20min a group of waitstaff does some country dancin, and the music gets even louder at that time. The service was very good, but not fabulous. Like the look of the place ,Very rustic, very country. Bottom line the food is Very good, the atmosphere fun, it was very busy for 4:30 pm. My only real complaint is that the music is too loud. My main criteria for judging this is that I was having trouble hearing the people at my table speak. You can't go wrong with fresh bread with cinnamon butter and free peanuts! I always ordered the half rack of ribs with French fries and house salad when I come here. Texas Roadhouse is great. They have all you can eat peanuts and bring delicious dinner rolls with honey butter to the table. The music playing in the restaurant is country and the waiters dance to a choreographed routine every so often. I usually get the pulled pork dinner or country fried chicken. The pulled pork is super tender and I love that it comes with 2 sides. I get the house salad which is your typical salad with delicious croutons and egg and then the baked potato. I would recommend getting on the waitlist online since this place gets very busy on weekend nights. read more

We usually go here all the time. Today will be the reason we never come back. We came in at 12:30 they open at 12. We got told by the hostess it would be a 10 min wait. We stood there for 20 mins then asked if it would much longer and she replied with "we are just waiting on more servers to come it..... the times now 12:50 so they've been open for almost an hour. We said "why did you tell us 10 mins? if it was going to be longer we wouldn't have waited." And she said "I don't know how long it's going to take I assumed 10 mins" then we hear the heavy set Peter griffin looking hostess say "why do people come out to eat this early anyway?" Well we have a child that needs to nap during the day not that it's any of her business, but also 12:30 is more than a acceptable time for lunch which she should know working in a restaurant. Either way, this is it for us. We won't be back. And I'd suggest you guys try somewhere else. We ended up at Jake N Joes and had a good lunch. read more

I love this place. You do have to wait a long time, but I think it is totally worth it. No one I know has ever had a bad meal here. You can tell they care about the food because the dressings and the cinnamon butter are house made. You can see the steaks in a case when you walk in and you can even pick which one you want to eat. The food is fresh which cannot be said of all chain restaurants. The service has been consistently friendly. The only thing I find a little distracting is the waitstaff line dancing in the middle of the walk way. I know that it adds to the theme of the restaurant, but it can be frustrating when you need to get your waitress and you can see her dancing on the other side of the restaurant. The restaurant is loud, but I love the country music. This won't be for everyone, but you should at least try it once for the food if nothing else. read more

As roadhouses go, this one wasn't the greatest, but it was acceptable. I was there during a dead period, and the rolls were luke warm and way crunchier than they should be (i think they were last nights dinner rolls). We all know that we convince our friends and family to go to roadhouse so we can enjoy the rolls... so when they start off bad, it sets a bad tone for the experience. Went for drinks today as we do almost every week. Asked for Original Margarita with 1800 kick. Received Margarita with half 1800 and half orange liquor in my kick. These people dilute your drinks! Asked to give me Margarita without Orange flavor. They cant do it! Courtney the bartender became offended with my request, called the manager and ended up giving me half the kicker (half the 0z) of 1800 for $8 with an attitude. Ok. We swallowed it. But, my husband asked them for a Patron straight up and i thought they were going to have a seizure! She was giving me an attitude and dirty looks. This place does not care what you want , they do as they wish and they fly "our store policy flag in front of your face!" No customer service and their owner should be ashamed of his employees and ridiculous policies. Btw, there is a bad odor in the store, fruit flies at the bar, cranky waitstaff and inconsistent chef. Being that this is my favorite steakhouse and my fiancé's favorite place to grab a drink we were very disappointed with the service tonight. After a very long day I just wanted to be able to relax & celebrate the amazing mother my fiancé has been. She ordered her drink and waters. A few minutes after the waitress (Jesse) came over and after noticing that we were sharing the alcoholic beverage (more like me trying to see if I liked it) she grabbed it from my fiancé and states that because no one in the table had identification that we couldn't drink.. however I had my Identification and my fiancé had a very recent picture of hers. (She had a picture because like I mentioned at the beginning it was a very long day; after doing the Mother's Day walk for peace due to the loss of her brother my fiancé misplaced her pocketbook with identification ) None of these issues being anyone's concern but Jesse sure acted like she didn't care and as if she was very experienced although she didn't know what a "Razzle Snake" was.. but she couldn't look at the picture or even ask a supervisor to see if there was an exception that could've been made... we'll get over it... but it was very aggravating read more

Oh yeah, Texas Roadhouse, oh yeah. I love Texas Roadhouse. Seriously, and I'm a vegetarian. We lived really close to the Saugus one and I came down my tried and true order. Delicious margaritas and fried pickles. I really can't eat more than that here because it's sooo filling. I also like their side salads, blooming onion knockoff, and of course the delicious rolls. The meateaters seemed happy here too. Now, my Texas Roadhouse love declines 1 star here. The prices are good, it wasn't a huge wait (though we called ahead on a Monday and it was definitely needed!) but I bet it fills up on the weekend. The service is good but our waitress was kind of slow especially with 6 people. The line dancing is also very lackluster. They need a little more enthusiasm! Haha, I'll give them a break on that because I would be mortified line dancing. I think once they are open for a while, they'll get more in the swing of service and smiles. Our local TX Roadhouse has been a family favorite. Not fine dining but a solid value with consistently good food delivered with friendly and attentive service. The place gets a little hectic during prime hours and waiting (especially with children) with little room for folks to stand or sit can get irritating but with call ahead seating the wait is usually not horrible. read more

Thought I would go to a place that I was familiar with. However, this was truly a disappointment. The waitress "Sue" was attentive at first. Ordered a beer on tap, she came back and apologized that the keg was being switched out and it would be a bit. She then brought me chili and apologized again that it was taking so long. The steak came out and was supposed to be medium rare... it was grey in the middle. I was then told to take the potato off the plate while they would remake a steak. Ten minutes later, Sue came back with my beer and asked how everything was!!! I told her I was still waiting for the steak and she said that it was almost done... five minutes later the steak arrived and was done right. The manager came by and brought me a bag of peanuts and coupons for appetizers because of my experience. At check time, Sue went MIA... I found it odd that this place didn't open till 4:00 PM. Oh well. I had the country fried sirloin with the seasoned rice and the veggies. The steak was filling as it was huge. The rice was good, but the veggies were a little bland. We had ordered some deep fried pickles, and I was expecting deliciousness, but was presented with pickles so salty we didn't eat them. We also ordered cheese fries, and the steak cut fries came out with cheese, and what tasted like bacon bits. Passable, but probably won't order them again. While we were there there were two birthdays (someone check my grammar!) and they made the birthday kid sit on a saddled stool. Not something that I would do as a kid... or as an adult. read more

Our dinner at the Texas Roadhouse in Walpole this past Saturday was a most positive experience largely because of Colon, our impressive server. We had several questions about the many different cuts of steak available, and Colin was able to explain each in detail and also to provide his personal recommendations. Because of Colin's culinary expertise and descriptive skill, we also tried the ribs and the New York cheesecake! Both were amazingly delicious!!! Overall, Colin was patient, professional, friendly, upbeat, and most attentive. We had to drop someone off in Norwood and stoped for lunch on Sunday. We go usually to the one in Everett closer to home. So we had no doubt it will be a good meal for a quick lunch. The good were the buns in the beginning , ribs and loaded potatoes. Chilly was lukewarm , service was attentive but not that interested in serving us. I got my chilly before I got my drink . I ordered a cider in a bottle and the bartander took over 10 min to get it. We sat right next to the bar. Understandable if there was a full bar but she had three people sitting there. The cherry on top was prostate medicine comercial that was on tv on my husbands side . At first I though it was just a comercial passing but the whole time we were there we had to look at prostrate medicine and diagrams . That is just shameful. My steak was mostly fat and I understand that ribeye has fat but I barely touched it, my husbands got the 20 oz one and it was very burned on the outside he ate around it but left a lot as wells mash potatoes that came with it was warm at best. The manager did stop by very systematic and fast I just didn't want to ruin my day. I would suggest that you stop doing run bys tables because corporate makes you talk to all the tables , and actually notice people not eating their food and come talk to them like you care. I notice as we were walking in that there was no wait on Sunday and the place only 25 precent full. No wonder. Everett is always busy and their is a wait. Its a chain, there is steak and peanuts with country music. This particular restaurant has excellent service. As we were seated we were asked if we wanted to select our specific steak before we sat down or did we want a menu. The fresh baked bread is heavenly. Our server, Melissa was awesome. Oh Roadhouse, please enjoy this symphony of love. I am usually not one for chain restaurants, but somehow Texas Roadhouse has found its way into my top 5 places to eat. The meals might be expensive when you are looking at them in the menu, but once you get your food--your jaw will drop to the floor,and you will wear loosen your belt. The servings are large, and to be honest I will fast before coming, so I can really enjoy it. Although Texas Roadhouse is heaven on earth, it has 2 problems. The wait is usually long on popular nights, which to be fair is expected and there is call ahead seating. And the firing of Detrimi, who was always friendly to me and my group. He took pride in the work, he did-- if anyone knows someone better than Detrimi, they must be lying. But hey, all and all Roadhouse is awesome, especially the awesome blossom and the rattlesnake bites. read more

Went here for my cousin's 7th bday, and think it's a great place to eat for families with younger kids. Again, their dinner rolls never fail to amaze me (just be aware that they truly are calorific). I got the country style fried chicken w/ brown gravy and it was good (if you love American food). The server (s/o to Samantha) was alright! She noticed how much we loved the rolls and gave us some more extras to take home (fresh and just got out of the oven)! read more

Disgusting This steakhouse would not be my first choice for a place to eat out but I go with others who crave steak, so I go and take one for the team. Which is fine, but now for the third time I have had a meal so disgusting that it's left me queazy for a day. I don't eat steak so I have ordered the fish and chips or grilled salmon. Each time the fish, which was clearly frozen at some point, tasted well beyond its consume-by date and was either vastly over or under cooked. The fish and chips come swimming in a tide pool of grease so deep you could drop a line in it. The last time I got the salmon it was literally room temperature inside and more thawed than cooked. I sent it back saying that it would sicken me if I ate it, and rather than asking me if I wanted something else or taking it off the bill, they sent it back to the kitchen, where they simply seared it in a pan of oil and sent it back out (this was "grilled" salmon). The bottom was crisped to the consistency of glass shards. All that burning oil could not squelch the stench of fish gone bad and I could not touch it. When the waitress came to remove it, it apparently didn't seem unusual that someone hadn't eaten their dinner, and she didn't comment. Otherwise, note that if you know anything about good steak, you're not likely to get it here. (It ain't no Morton's.) The quality of the beef is mediocre and the preparation not well informed. As for the famous cinnamon butter rolls, they may be tasty going down, but once there, they will congeal into a painful piece of shot-put. -- read more

We went to the place for dinner the other night. First, the menu has calorie count next to the dishes, which would be awesome if the healthiest looking appetizer wasn't upward of 700 cal. It's like showing a picture of sunburn on your dating profile, doesn't win you points. So apps were out, I ordered a New York steak, rare. Ok it came rare. But the cut was impossible to cut through because of vein going right through it. So faced with the piece of low-quality meet, i tried the bar, and ordered one of the big margaritas (looked good on the picture, no calorie warning, thank goodness!). My order was easy on the ice, no sugar on the rim (this was a sweet margarita, that came with sugar apparently) - what I got is essentially half a glass, with sugar (it was late, the server was tired,no problem) but half a glass? Because you wanted to sell me a bunch of water and I didn't go for that? Anyway, i saw no passion for what they do in the eyes of employees, no desire to create restaurant an experience you'd remember or want to come back to. Food was greasy and the quality was poor.
