We order from here A LOT for work. Like, at least once a week, probably closer to twice a week. It's usually for 3-8 people, so a fair amount of food, and we'll get it delivered or convince someone to pick it up. There is no online ordering like at their other location in NE Dallas, so you have to call it in. With our larger orders, there is something inevitably wrong or missing, from no plasticware included to entirely wrong meals. But it tastes good and is consistent, so we keep going back! Nice decor...small dining area caters more to a party of 2 or solo diners. I ordered my staple Thai dish: pad kee mow. To change things up, I also got chicken dumplings. The dumplings were quite yummy. Not sure what seasoning they used but it had a wee bit of a kick to it. The pad kee mow was nothing to write on and on about. It was good but could have used more zing. I assume they have to make things as neutral as possible when starting out (for those who are not used to Thai flavor). It would be nice if they can ask how spicy the food should be. I've been back a couple of times now even though it's out of my way. I like it. Although, each time they have been out of soy chicken. While in town for NYE finding Thai 2 Go was such a relief to my group of friends who were all hungry and tired and needed fuel to get us through 7 hours of dancing (LIGHTS ALL NIGHT!!! Whoo!). I was a bit wary because of the uninspiring generic name (sounds fitting for a mall food court) and the minimalistic bright green decor screamed "we're trying to be hip" so I expected "american-ized" Thai food. But once I opened up their menu I was proven wrong. I didn't study the menu too long, but I immediately noticed certain menu items that are not typical of a fast-casual Thai restaurant. Like ROTI CURRY! A flaky flat bread common in SE Asia (think SE Asian version of naan) served with curry dipping sauce. In addition they had a variety of curry dishes to satisfy most cravings. I ordered vegetarian pad thai and the roti curry. Delicious! As expected. As pad thai should be (not like Malai Kitchen. See my review).The roti was soggy, but I was just glad to eat it. I honestly can't recall how everything really tasted as I ate most of it cold, at 3am whilst drunk, but with a name like "Thai 2 Go", it definitely exceeded my expectations. read more

3.5 stars for how close it is for those of us who work at UTSW, above average food, and convenience. Kudos to them for understanding what busy office folks want on their lunch breaks. The thai has been consistently pretty good, considering they are essentially a fast food thai restaurant. I've had the pad thai with chicken and it was really flavorful spices, with chewy noodles and crisp veggies. Also had the pad see ew with beef, which was not as good as the pad thai, but again above average in tastiness for to-go thai. The curry puffs were gobbled up fast. Because it was in a to-go box, some of the flakiness of the phyllo dough didn't translate from all the moisture in the container. It's mostly curried potatos and very little minced chicken, but tasty nonethess. The pickled veggies it came with were also a great accompaniment, but they were room temp, and not cold like it should've been. But I think that's to be expected from a to-go place. Don't for get the iced coffee...it will knock you off your feet with it's sweetness. I think some people wouldn't like this if you're not into ultra sweet coffee drinks. This was definitely more dessert-like, and you get a whoppin 12 oz. I had to keep putting new ice in it to dilute, so it lasted all day. Their to-go boxes are very sturdy, and manage to keep the heat of the food inside for quite awhile. One tip: call in your order ahead of time if you live/work 20 min away because they will have your order ready to pick up in that amount of time. Once I made the mistake of going with 6 others during lunch rush, placed our orders at the counter, and waited at least 25 minutes before all of us got our food. Been here a few times. The food is ok. Not going to go into a lot of detail other than to say that it's not bad for a quick meal or quick takeout since I live close to it, but there are other places around town that are much better if I'm in the mood to drive. Here I've tried the shrimp in a blanket (ok), roti curry (delicious), corn patties (pretty good), thai beef jerky (really good), tom kha (ok, but not my fave, had better elsewhere), beef stew noodle soup (pretty interesting soup - would order again) and pad kee mow (my staple order at any Thai restaurant - their PKM is ok, but not my fave either). As you can see, I've tried quite a bit and will likely go again, so I'd recommend it if you need something ok and quick. For something great, this is not your place. read more

Very good food, some of the best Pad Thai I've had, but now that they are so popular delivery time is taking longer! It used to take less than 30 minutes, but now it can take over an hour! Excruciatingly slow walk-in to-go service: I was told it would be 15-20 minutes, but it took 30. The manager told me that I should have been told 15-30 minutes because of my special order, none of which involved the way it was cooked. For my beef pad Thai, I asked for no bean sprouts and for the the addition of chopped cilantro, which I cannot fathom taking an additional 10 minutes to accomplish, especially since the cilantro was thrown in there whole, not chopped. The beef was stringy and gristly, and not at all tender. The only positive side is that the flavor is good and the spice level was what I was expecting. The good: it's on my way home from work, the prices are very reasonable, and the service was super speedy (it was 4 PM on a Saturday so I can not speak to busier times). Also the to-go portion seemed appropriate for the price though I didn't have leftovers. The vegetables were fresh. The bad: not much atmosphere, definitely wouldn't bring a date here or anything along those lines. The food was fine, certainly not bad but I've had much better. The ugly: I ordered the house curry which seemed like it should be a safe bet but the flavors involved were so disappointing! I have always appreciated the combination of flavors and the nice thick texture of a good Thai curry. This was as runny as broth. It had some spice but no other real flavor. Okay. I've tried the Pad Thai everywhere and this is as good as it gets! The fried vegetable rolls were delicious. Can't tell you about anything else on the menu, but I was totally satisfied and I'm a picky eater. The tofu was absolutely untofu-tastablelike! It had a great texture and the taste was really good, didnt have a problem eating it and wanting more. And, you know that sometimes tofu has the consistency of a rubber tire! Let me start off by mentioning, I love this place. Every Thursday for the past few weeks, I've been ordering the Pad Kee Mao with Chicken, with cabbage added. So today I decided to order this dish. I was so disappointed when my food arrived. I opened the container, and to my surprise there was no meat whatsoever, not even a smiget. Although I love veggies, I am NOT a Vegan or a Vegetarian. I LOVE MEAT, and cannot live without it. This totally changed my outlook on Thai 2 Go. The fact that I received a dish with no meat in it, made me ponder about ordering lunch from here on Thursdays in the future. On the upside, it was nice to be recognized by the driver who usually delivers my lunch to me on Thursdays, at my full-time job. He even recalled the address of where he usually delivers my food. I love Thai cuisine, and would sure hate to have to locate another restaurant, but it may be time for a change. read more

Second, I asked for no peanuts due to food allergy and she was rude and said there was none when the menu clearly states there is and when i came home, surely there was peanuts in my papaya salad. I decided to order some Thai for lunch today because it sounded so good. Chose Thai 2 Go because it was the only place in the area with Lad na, or "gravy noodles," which I was really craving. I ordered that and the beef salad to reach the minimum order total. The noodles were good but a bit too soft and broken, and wish they had a bit more char on them. It wasn't not spicy at all to me (I ordered level 3, but added red pepper, sriracha, and some ghost pepper sauce and then it was great). The salad was good, but I like the dressing with a little more lime. It was good, and I'd eat it again. read more

Thai2go is a great little restaurant. Good Thai in Dallas is hard to find. Either it is too expensive or just low quality. The food at Thai2go is fresh and simple but original too. For starters I had the Curry Puff. Its like a Southeast Asian knish. Delicate pastry (that was perfectly made) surrounding curried potatoes, chicken. I've never had anything like it and makes a perfect counter to its heavier, greasier fellow appetizer, the corn patty. The Tom Kha (Galangal - my measure of any Thai restaurant) was refreshing. I like it much spicier, but it must have been 105 degrees outside, so I wasn't disappointed. For the main course I ordered the Thai2go Curry. Its their house curry w/ mushrooms, bamboo shoots, beans and basil. It is super mellow - again, I missed the kick of a spicy curry, but it was so fresh and tasty I forgave them that. Some friends and I shared the deserts and I was blown away by the custard and sticky rice. This was like a great twist to bread pudding, but by now I was so full I only needed a couple of bites. I missed out on the Thai Coffee, but I'll get that next time. This will be a great place for lunches, even if it is a drive from my office. read more

Great food. I cannot recommend the Pad Thai enough. The serving size is just right. I wish that the dish came with peanut sauce, but I ordered the sauce on the side for no extra charge. This place was not good. I used a Restaurant.com certificate to come here so I didn't have high expectations to begin with. I ordered a Pad See Ew with Tofu and a Pad Thai with beef; two staple dishes for a Thai restaurant. If they get anything- they should get at least those things right. I got these items to-go, excited to eat it, and was so sad. I don't even know how else to describe how it tasted- it just did not taste good. I mean it wasn't like I wanted to throw up, but it really just was not good. It's like if I wanted to make Thai food myself at home and messed it up because I am not good at cooking. While I enjoyed this restaurant when it first opened, the quality of the food has vastly deteriorated over the last couple years. I used to be a regular costumer and get the Chicken Pad Thai and it was pretty ok... however the past few times I have received a block of noodles stuck together with almost no sauce and no chicken. Today I went to this place at the request of a friend, and got a curry. The curry had boatloads of salt and almost no flavor from spices. You're better off just driving a few blocks to the Oak Lawn area and getting much better Thai food. read more

I ordered via Yelp's EAT24 app at 12:36pm. It is 2:04pm and I still haven't received delivery. I called the restaurant 10 minutes ago to check and they said that it should be there, they would call the delivery driver (who left 30 minutes ago) and call me back. Haven't heard anything. Not looking forward to cold food. Won't order here again. Weird, because my coworker orders from here and never has this problem. This is my first (and last) time. The driver called me from downstairs at the information desk at 2:10pm asking me to come get it. He insisted there are no delivery instructions, even though my confirmation email CLEARLY states the instructions, so I know I included them. For some reason, when my coworker requests delivery, they are able to deliver it to her. I told him to take it back and called the restaurant to request a refund, which they said they would just give me without even asking why (I guess they knew). Disappointed. And hungry.
