The Mrs. and I had lunch at Thai 7 Bistro yesterday. Thai 7 is located next to Bruxie on the very competitive Birch Street promenade in downtown Brea. Having only been open since October, Thai 7 Bistro appears to be making an impact on the Brea culinary scene based upon the reviews from my fellow Yelpers. We arrived shortly before noon. There were four other diners and the place was pretty quiet. The footprint of Thai 7 is pretty small and the decor is minimal but comforting and welcoming. The menu is pretty extensive and has many of the dishes you'd expect from a Thai restaurant. There are also some fusion dishes offered such a Pho and calamari. The Mrs. and I stuck with our go-to Thai favorites to share. I ordered the Panang Curry with beef with a mild spice level. If I'm trying a new Thai restaurant I often start with mild because many times mild isn't really that mild. Thai 7's just had a small hint of heat. The flavor was rich and the beef was tender. The Mrs. ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and a medium spice level. Our waitress let us know that their medium spicy is pretty spicy. So we opted to go mild on the Pad Thai and use chili on the side. It worked out perfectly. The service we received was excellent we genuinely felt like the staff wanted us to be there. read more

Tried Thai 7 Bistro for the first time and loved it!! My wife and I ordered take out and enjoyed each dish. The Chicken Pad Thai was right there with my favorite pad Thai dishes I've had. The flavor was on point with juicy chicken, peanuts, and lime. We also ordered the yellow curry with tofu. Their yellow curry had a great depth of flavor with the creaminess of the coconut milk and a nice mild curry flavor. To top it off I got the Thai iced tea, always a great drink! The service was quick and friendly, our take out was ready in a quick 15 minutes! Highly recommend! read more

Decent thai restaurant located in downtown brea -- Came on a sunday afternoon and we were able to be seated right away. However, I would be weary of coming with a big group because seating is a bit limited - had a group of 7 and we had to be split up. Service was good and food came out fairly quickly. We got the pad thai w/pork and green curry with chicken. Total for those 2 came out to about $32. Pad thai was a little bland, and when the dish came out the noodles were hot but the pork was cold? Green curry had great flavor and vegetables were cooked perfectly. I would consider getting this again if i came back. read more

Came here randomly after grabbing some coffee at "Enchanted Coffee" (u should check it out really good stuff there) and was thoroughly surprised to find out this was replaced from the previous Vietnamese restaurant. Sai greeted me with a smile and provided a really welcoming environment. I ordered the drunken noodles with beef which i had made a bit spicier than their normal level. My favorite dish is the Pad Thai chicken. Although the seating wasn't very comfortable, the service was good. The prices are average.

This is a small 5-6 table inside seating and a small amount of sidewalk seating. They had mainly one server with someone else who occasionally helped. I have been to much larger restaurants that even had yelp waitlists who were extremely organized. The owners or managers were not very helpful with the one server. People were leaving because tables were not bussed and their orders were not being taken. As far as our order we did get three items but we were only 2 people. The server asked us what we ordered 3 different times while making sure she placed it in system correctly. The food came out in a reasonable time. The food that was ordered was the chicken satay, kai soi noodle soup with beef, and a crab omelette. The kao soi tasted good and the chicken satay was the standard dish. The crab omelette photo kind of speaks for itself. Ended up spreading out crab and using the kao soi sauce to add some flavor to the omelette they should have had some additional flavoring to add for omelette. If you are going to have a crab omelette as an off the menu item special, it should be special. read more

Stopped by to refuel after some intense shopping. This place is nicely located in downtown Brea, and serves really good food. The papaya salad was delicious and nicely seasoned. So glad there's a Thai restaurant in DT Brea where I spend a lot of time charging my car. Food is good. Service is good. Atmosphere is chill. Had the Salmon Curry tonight and it exceeded my expectations. The Salmon was crispy and the Curry was flavorful. Their rice is simple yet tasty and I threw some chili oil all over to give a nice kick. Previous visits I've had the Pad See Ew and the Pad Kra Pow (sp?) and they are both good. Everything comes out fresh to order and the service is great. They serve all the usual Thai favorites and is a welcome alternative to the other restaurants in DT Brea. read more

We had lunch there today. I ordered the Yellow Curry with chicken which was on the lunch special menu. It came on a plate and included rice. I do not like spicy food and was told by our waitress that it was not spicy. She was correct, it was not spicy. I enjoyed the yellow curry as it had a nice flavor to it. It included chicken, potatoes and carrots. I asked for some extra sauce as I love yellow curry sauce. They bought me some and I added it to my meal. Overall the meal was very good and I would recommend the Yellow Curry if you are looking for something to order. I am not sure if they could make it spicy, if that is what you prefer, but I am sure they can. read more

TLDR: food is great, but you end up with a hole in your wallet; very worth it if you don't mind that! I went to Thai 7 Bistro with my mom a couple weeks ago and got the papaya salad, shrimp pad thai, and red panang curry chicken for our main dishes. For dessert I had to get the mango sticky rice. Those four dishes were exceptional just as expected and came out fresh. Portions: The overall portions of each dish were adequate but still left us satisfied! However, considering the prices, we half-expected them to be just a little larger. The pad thai did the best with the portion. Price: Significantly leaning on the higher side; for 4 dishes we ended up paying ~$80 with tip. Service: The lady that took our orders and brought our food was quick and straightforward which is what I personally like from service. Ambiance: We sat outside and it was really cozy to eat warm food on a cooler evening! The food still stayed significantly warm for the majority of the time, too. Food details (wordy): The papaya salad was served in a good portion! It is so unique with its sour and very sweet notes to it, and it was a nice surprise for the base to be bean sprouts and cabbage rather than the classic lettuce (but lettuce was placed onto the side). I've never had a dish anything like it before and it just went so well with eating the rich panang curry. There are different options for protein for the red panang curry and we chose chicken. It also comes with a side of rice. This is a classic under Thai dishes and I favor the coconut-y vibe to it. There were bell pepper slices in the dish along with the chicken, however the quantity was a little less than expected. There was a big pool of the curry sauce left on the plate once we finished the food. However, because the curry sauce is so delicious, it still could be used for pouring over leftover rice or as a dip. The pad thai is always a need! Our chosen protein was shrimp. This is phenomenal as always and the portion was just right. I love nutty dishes :) Mango sticky rice is something I've never tried before and my first impression being from Thai 7 Bistro was great. The mango and rice are served warm and the rice seemed to be marinated with a translucent sweet liquid that had a deep flavor like that of brown sugar. The portion was normal for a dessert as they're usually smaller so you'll be able to finish it all after eating your main course. Overall, I recommend this place if you're comfortable for spending a little more than usual for quality food. This would be 5 stars if the prices were just a tad lower! read more

After placing my order and waiting 20 mins for a confirmation email that never came, I called the restaurant to confirm, and they told me they never received it--basically washing their hands of the issue and told me to call Yelp. Thankfully, Yelp/Grubhub customer service was actually really helpful. They contacted the restaurant directly, and suddenly the order had been received and was ready for pickup. Interesting... The lack of communication between the restaurant and the app was awful. When we picked up the order there was no acknowledgement of the issue which was very disappointing. read more

A simple request that cannot be filled. I have a severe peanut allergy. I needed something soft to eat and figure soft noodles. We ate here before when they were a Vietnamese restaurant and it was an utter failure. It was very greasy and did not have fresh ingredients. When you don't have fresh noodles or you leave the noodles out as a short cut they stick together so extra grease is to use to make your Vietnamese stir fried noodles. MSG is a must for but they place over did it! This has been our typical experiences with many Vietnamese places in north Orange County. Decides to try them out again since they changed their menu. Went into the resturant to order because I did not want them to incorrectly make my food. Ordered two orders of pad Thai and we said no peanuts. Well apparently they do not understand no peanuts. Sucks that both orders had peanuts. Sent my husband back to get a refund. They refused. We didn't eat here because it is not worth a trip to the hospital. read more

Our fried shrimp appetizer was still cold in the middle. They took it back and brought the same exact food we sent back with the bite we took still there. We didn't want it back but I understand they were trying to right their wrong but we really didn't want to just have reheated food come back to us. The pad see ew was charred on the noodles so it tasted burnt. The pho Tai was ok. The steak tasted a little off so I didn't eat any of it. Just the noodles and broth. Overall wouldn't go back. Love this place!! Service, food, and the ambience were amazing. We walk in, off the bat, the hostess/server was amazing. She was so sweet and happy to see us. Just felt so welcome coming in, which is so nice to feel at a restaurant. We order the Pad Thai with chicken and the Pad See Ew with beef. We got a heat level 3 and a mild. Which the server explained and recommended perfectly. Food was delicious, and my partner who isn't even a big Thai food fan says, "Woah, this flavor is really good" We sat outside, even though the inside was just as nice. My husband and I came here for lunch yesterday and we were greeted by the sweetest lady. She was so kind and welcoming! Their menu is pretty extensive, but we were craving noodles. So that's what we got! My husband got the chicken pad see ew and he loved it! He doesn't get his food spicy but when I tried a bite of his, it had amazing flavor! I got the beef drunken noodle and boy was that delicious. The flavor in that bowl was delicious!! My new fav as I typically get pad see ew. I'm glad I tried something different and enjoyed it! The restaurant is pretty tiny but they fill every possible space and make everything multi functional, we sat outside because the weather was nice, so it was great that they have indoor / outdoor seating! I'm not too sure if she is the owner but she was very accommodating to my family and I! She brought us our food because we asked for it to go, gave us napkins, checked on us to see if we needed anything. She went above and beyond! Great food, great customer service. I'm kind of a Thai food snob and know there are only 2 places in Orange County with good Thai food. My favorite is probably Siam Station in Irvine. This place probably gas the best Thai food in north Orange County. If you are in the area and want to have good Thai food, you won't go wrong. Prices are pretty much in line with Orange County and the food is fresh albeit not super fast. I could hear the chef furiously cooking in the kitchen. They just opened so looks like they are ramping up. Employees are super friendly and it's location is fantastic in downtown Brea. I actually got the Pho, which was decent wife and son ordered Pad Thai and Pad See U and both were tasty. Definitely will be back to try their curries and fried rice. read more

Found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out. So glad we did. The young lady who greeted and served us was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and modern. I love the Downtown Brea vibe. The menu was a mix between Thai and Vietnamese. Everything we ate was flavorful and delicious. We were stuffed and still had a lot leftover. Amazing, fragrant, and delicious Thai cooking in the heart of downtown Brea. Thai 7 is situated right on the main street and it's fairly cozy inside with nice wood tables. We got seated immediately and since the place just opened were greeted by the owners and they took our orders as well. My wife and I got the pot of Jasmine Tea (pretty pot, but was a little bland, could have used a second tea bag), the Tom Kha Gai soup, and the Tofu Panang Curry. The Tom Kha Gai was incredibly fragrant but not too rich with lots of lemongrass, lime leaf, and ginger flavoring the broth. Even came with very cute mushrooms! We also ordered the Tofu Panang Curry and the spice blend with the coconut milk based sauce was excellent. Very rich and heavily spiced (and not very spicy at all). Came here for lunch with my team and shared some dishes to try a little bit of everything. We started with the Rocket Shrimp for an appetizer, it came out piping hot with some sweet chili sauce? It was good. For mains, we got the Drunken Noodle with chicken, Tom Yum soup, and Shaken Beef. The drunken noodle was good but not very spicy. The soup was on the sweeter side more than sour/spicy. The shaken beef sauce was good but the meat itself was very small cubes and cooked a little too well than I preferred. Service was good and attentive, they refilled our waters promptly and checked up on us often. Seating inside is small and intimate but they have outside seating as well.
