We were in the area for an event and went to yelp for some guidance on Thai food. Thanks yelp for this recommendation! We ordered pad see ew, orange chicken and cream cheese wontons. The orange chicken and the pad see ew were amazing. You can actually taste the orange in the sauce and it was just marvelous. The wontons were tasty with a hint of curry flavor...just delicious. The inside is very cozy and colorful! The customer service was excellent and Taya was very nice and friendly! Glad to support a family-run business. If we are ever if the area again, we e will make sure to return here.

As always it is amazing authentic Thai food family owned. After a long day pick up my take out , little chat with owner and enjoying it in front of my house on a mild night. Excellent ! Peter

The food was amazing! It started with an appetizer: combination of egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and shrimp wrapped in crunchy noodles! Followed by coconut soup w/ shrimp, mushrooms, and lemon grass with a hint of lime on the soup. We also had Pad Thai and combination fried rice. Don't forget the fried banana for dessert! Oh so good!!!!!! Tony, our server, was great! He was very pleasant and very fast service was rendered. The ambiance was bright and cool. Place was inviting. When in town, don't forget to check out this place!

This place is amazing! Not only is the food so good, but the service is incredible. I've never had such fresh tasting crab Rangoon. You can't get service like this with delicious food everywhere. This place is a true gem! We even got premiere parking!

Delicious casual spot - the red curry (GF) was great and the owner was lovely. Even when he dropped the bill he encouraged us to stay and chat as he loves when his guests are enjoying good conversation. We had a great meal and felt very welcome.

A colleague/friend and I were on a lunch break and as we were walking perhaps down to another place, I pointed out Thai Boom which she had never been to, so we gave it a shot. Simply, everything was decently good. Especially the value aka the lunch specials we chose to go with. The menu is pretty large so I would be interested in trying some other items. There is inside seating only (the place is not too large) with table seating with partial booths. Interior is casual and decorated nicely. Service was good and adequate. Parking is street only (metered or anything you can find). On this visit we tried the following: Fresh Rolls - Shrimp, chicken, lettuce, bean sprouts, carrot, basil, cucumber, rice noodles, ground peanut in hoisin sauce. Fresh tasting, and good portion for two. Two large rolls cut in half. Enjoyed the hoisin peanut sauce. Spicy Eggplant (lunch special) - Purple eggplant, bell pepper, jalapeno, onion, chili, basil and garlic. It came with a salad and a portion of rice as part of the lunch special. Friend enjoyed this. Pad Thai Noodle w/chicken (lunch special)- Rice noodles, egg, green onion, bean sprout, ground peanut. This was ok, nothing too special as it was missing the right elements (salty, sweet, etc) but good enough. It came with a side of rice and a salad.

Craving Thai Food yesterday, so I ordered Pad Thai noodle lunch especial for pickup. It was my first time trying their food, the lunch especial comes with rice and 1 pc egg roll, and the noodle. The taste is good, but it was little bit too greasy.

BACK AGAIN & it was amazing as always. This time I tried the Orange Chicken and it was so good and crispy. I have never tried Orange Chicken as crispy as this place before. Soooo good!!

Mushroom in P2. Pad See Ew
    Yagmur E.

I ordered to go last night and unfortunately the Pad see ew has such different flavors than usual ones. I like the fresh rolls, great- our good old fresh rolls with peanut sauce. However the pad see ew was definitely different than expected. It had such a heavy flower taste. Definitely not regular sweet pad see ew sauce. And later I found mushroom in it. Never got a mushroom pad see ew before, wonder if it was mixed with another meal. It's really hard to go wrong with Thai food especially pad see ew, so maybe it taste good in the actual location and take out was a bit unfortunate.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive from the moment I arrived. When I checked in, the host greeted me warmly and had my table ready immediately, even though I had made my online reservation less than 10 minutes earlier. The waitstaff also regularly checked in on me throughout my meal to make sure I had everything I needed. I started with the Thai Limeade, which had a nice kick from the rum and paired perfectly with its zesty, tangy flavor. I also ordered the Brussels sprouts, which I was initially hesitant about because the dish is topped with an over-easy egg. My hesitation was completely misplaced because they were amazing! If you love garlic, you'll definitely love these sprouts. For my main course, I ordered the Crispy Pork Noodles, and flavor-wise, they were incredible. The crispy pork is paired with vermicelli noodles, watercress, egg, and chili garlic, creating a unique and delicious combination that you really have to try for yourself. Another thing worth mentioning is the portion sizes -- they are HUGE! And I'm definitely someone who likes to eat, yet I still brought home a ton of leftovers while leaving the restaurant completely stuffed. Sure, the prices are higher than what I'm used to paying for Thai food, but you have to take into consideration the location -- Beverly Hills on Santa Monica Boulevard -- as well as the fact that the quality of the food is top-notch. In my opinion, the experience and portions make it well worth it. I can't wait to go back because there were so many other dishes on the menu that I wanted to try. If you're a fan of Thai food, I highly recommend checking out La Ong for yourself!

Personally, I'm obsessed with the Lamb Shank Massaman Curry and Pad Thai. The curry might be the best in the city. It was kind of funny -- I was already thinking that, and the father of the family next to my brother and me said the same thing to his wife. And the Pad Thai? Super thin, almost angel hair pasta-like noodles. SUPER. GOOD. I've never had anything from here I didn't think was exceptional. And this is definitely the only Thai spot I feel that way about. Only minor knock: I picked up my Pad Thai today through GrubHub and the interaction was a little odd. The owner, I assume, wasn't friendly, and my order wouldn't pull up on GrubHub, which is on me. He's probably used to delivery service drivers, but still, ask human beings "How are you doing?" before interrogating them. TLDR: the food is amazing. GO!!!

The noodles were too thick, and the flavor was strange. The people in my group did enjoy the Pad Thai though, so that's one thing that's safe to order here. And the midnight chicken is amazing!!!! That's probably the only thing I'd come back for. Also beware of the metered parking in front. The waitresses also require you to enter you name and phone number after you order which I think is a waste of time, added unnecessary wait. Interestingly, the wait for the food once you order went a lot quicker. I enjoyed my boat noodles. Portions were a little smaller than if you went to Thai town, but I get that rent is expensive in this area. Bathroom is clean. Overall, I would not recommend coming here if you have post dinner plans because service is way too slow and not very efficient. Waitresses are nice though.
