    spicy steamed fish

My boyfriend and I were deciding on where to eat and we came across this Thai restaurant when we were driving around. It did not disappoint. We ordered beef satay, papaya salad, white rice and spicy steamed fish. the steamed fish was the highlight of the meal! We devoured it! Super flavorful! The lime, spice, savory, just overall a burst of flavor in every bite!

We got Tom Yum to go it was pretty good, would been 100% better in store. They were closing but still made it so amazing services. I will be coming back

When the hubs & I get some alone time to have a lunch date ~ which is so rare these days, we always like to revisit our comfort foods (aka foods the kids don't particularly fancy, on an average day). Lol So, for authentic Thai food, we immediately think..Thai Cafe! We particularly LOVE this Irvine location because it's conveniently located uber close to our home; in the Arbor Village Center, on the corner of Jeffrey & Walnut (near Sunmerry bakery & Taiko). We can literally go in & out quickly and efficiently. The staff is always uber nice and the vibe is so chill. The food quality has been consistent over the years, which is sooo important to keep the local loyals from coming back. On this particular lunch date, we decided to share a beef salad app. It's always so refreshing and has the perfect level of spice kick (we got medium hotness) and sweet & sour vinegrette. For entrees, we both shared our go-to boat noodles w/ thick rice noods. It's like the Thai version of our Viet pho. Always hits the spot, when we crave something soupy & flavorful. Lastly to round out our meal, we shared a chicken yellow curry (also, medium level hotness) cuz duh..when you think of Thai, you automatically think & crave curry. The 3 dishes together was uber satisfying and perfectly portioned for us both, without feeling like we overate ourselves into a food coma. Will always come back again when we get that Thai crave.

Been coming here for many years! Even during busy hours there's always had plenty of seating. Usually not too loud and clean interior. Also big parking lot in front. Our go-to's are: pad see ew and the pineapple fried rice. This time we ordered: - pad kee mao: popular dish for a reason! Not too salty, has a mix of chicken and seafood. On the milder side but pairs really nice with the thai chilies on the counter. - bamboo chicken: our first time trying this dish. Was a little salty for our liking so I don't think we would order it next time. Vegetables and chicken were really well cooked though. Definitely recommend a side of rice if you order this.

I haven't been here for a few years. We decided to have dinner here tonight while we were in the neighborhood. Food was as delicious as I remembered. Not sure why the low ratings on Yelp? We ordered the combination fried rice and chicken curry with bamboo shoots. Fried rice came with beef, pork, two shrimps, and fried eggs. That was very flavorful and so tasty. The chicken curry was perfectly seasoned and the chicken was tender. Wish they put a bit more bamboo shoots. Overall, it was a great meal. Restaurant was full for a Sunday late afternoon/early evening. Service was also good.

Plastic in our pad see ew

Found plastic in our food. The pad see ew was salty, the pad Thai was bland and the noodles were stuck together. The coconut soup was extremely sour like Vietnamese hot and sour soup. The wontons had a tiny pinch of meat inside. The icing on the cake was finding plastic in our food.

Friendly and good service. Was a little bit of a wait but nothing too crazy. The food is quickly prepared and piping hot off. Definitely can taste all the deliciousness the dishes have to offer. My favorite was the pad see eww. That's a staple I try when going to any Thai place. The pad Thai also had a flavorful taste as well as the combo fried rice. The restaurant itself was clean and not loud.

Stopped by for a casual dinner during the week. The plaza itself can get hectic at times but there was plenty of parking when we went. The inside is quaint but clean and we were seated immediately. The fried rice was tasty but it would've been perfect if it was cooked just a tad more. The noodles were seasoned well and was a healthy portion. Service was quick and efficient. Solid Thai spot, could see myself coming back soon.

This is a small little Thai restaurant in Irvine. It's very casual. The servers were nice and friendly. The menu is simple. We ordered beef pad see ew, house fried rice and angel wings. The food was ok. In an area where there are so many options for Asian food, the flavor really needs to stand out otherwise it's just mediocre. The taste was ok. I was hoping for it to be more flavorful. The angel wings were densely packed and dry. The fried rice had more toppings than rice and the meat on it was tough. I've had better pad see ew elsewhere. Overall, the experience was ok.

An amazing, unassuming gem in Irvine. My favourite Thai food spot -- no social media hype, no frills, just kind staff and awesome food.

This is a very casual restaurant and seemed pretty popular on yelp, so I decided to try it out. I came here with a friend early on a Saturday night and was able to be seated immediately. However, the service was a little slow. It took awhile to get our food and it seemed like quite a few tables were also waiting on their food too. I ended up ordering a phad see iw beef. It was not bad but not amazing either. However, they gave a generous amount of beef compared to other restaurants. The price was also not too expensive as well. Overall, I would come back again.

As a huge fan of Thai cuisine, I've found that it tends to be either absolutely excellent or a total miss .I've passed by Thai Café many times and finally gave it a try. The interior is simple and cozy. We ordered catfish, shrimp fried rice, and shrimp Pad Thai. The catfish was outstanding--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Pad Thai and fried rice were just okay. Portion sizes were generous, and the staff was kind. While the dining area was quiet, there were plenty of delivery orders going out. I'd come back just for the catfish!

We love this place!!!!!!! Hello, can someone post the latest menu please?

They don't have a website, you must come in

Anyone know if they are open for dining inside yet?

Went there three days ago and they are still not doing indoor dining. Thai Kitchen on Barranca is owned by the same family and they are currently back to indoor seating.

Anyone know if this place is still doing business? I tried calling today (Sunday, March 28, 2021) at 4pm and no one picked up. Called 3 different times. Online searches show business hours are correct and should be open...

    Yes they opened

Do the close early now or on Fridays? I went this past weekend at 530 pm and it was closed.

Take out service only since the pandemic started

Anyone know if they are open to dine in?? The phone # is busy....

They are not open to dine in. Only togo orders for now.

Did this place close? I keep calling but get a User Busy signal?? Please let me know.

They still open. My wife had to call several times to place a phone order. They probably just busy taking phone orders.

Can I still order stuff other than what's on the lunch menu during lunch? Or is the lunch menu really the only thing I can order from during those hours? I ask because I wanted some Tom Yum hotpot and they didn't have it on the lunch menu.

I think they will, I wanted the trout one afternoon and they totally hooked it up I'm sure they would do that for you too!

Why it closed? Does Anyone know? Thank you

They are open , just very busy

Does anyone know the phone number to this restaurant? I called and I get a busy tone.

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

Once seated, you'll notice the menu if full of items that you rarely see here in the USA but we have had in Bangkok. We ordered 4 items for 4 people even though in Thailand you always eat family style. I selected the first 3 and asked the waiter to select the 4th based on my first 3 choices. That was a good idea. I chose Kao Soi Noodles, Dry Boat Noodles, and Crab Fried Rice based on Yelp reviews. My server, Veerawan, chose Fried Fish Fillet in Spicy Herb Salad. The Kao Soi Noodles came with several pieces of perfectly fried crabs and a bundle of crispy noodles. Underneath that was a delicious yellow curry on soft noodles. The fried bits were not greasy and the coating well seasoned. The yellow curry noodles were so delicious and rich that I couldn't put my chopsticks down. The Crab Fried Rice should be mandatory. Instead of a stir fry of rice and eggs with some surimi, at Manaao the entire cap of the fried rice mound is covered with lump crab meat. At first I thought $24 was expensive, now I think it's a steal. Look at my picture! The flavor was spot on too, the rice was chewy, the crab flavor throughout but you also get mouthfuls of crab without the hassle of shells. It comes with a lime wedge but also this spicy, tangy lime sauce that just sends the dish to the moon. The name of the restaurant is lime in Thai so they are supporting their brand with this sauce. Bottle this stuff! The Dry Boat Noodle was our least favorite but not because it wasn't tasty. The ingredients were braised beef and morning glory and meatballs. Because we messed with the recipe and ordered it dry (I didn't want two soups) the meatballs were cold-to-room-temp and flavorless. The noodles were some kind of special noodle too, that required the soup to separate. This dish should not be ordered dry. It's an easy fix since we all splashed some of the broth they knowingly brought on the side to wake it up. The broth is rich and should not be missed, so don't skip on this dish just because it was my third out of four dishes. The Fried Fish Fillet in Spicy Herb Salad was the unexpected plot twist. This scored very high in all the major Thai flavor categories of spicy, sweet, salty and sour. You get the benefit of lots of snake head fish without the chore of avoiding bones. The coating on the fried fish pieces were coated in the delicious sauce. Since it's technically a salad underneath and the fish is mixed with all those fresh herbs and large cashews, you get a dish that is one-of-a-kind. I would order this again in a heartbeat. I wrote too much already so I'm not going to say anything about the service and ambience except they both get 5 of 5 stars. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Almost like the Cheers bar in MA where everybody knows your name. Kinda nice actually. What we ordered: 1) pad see ew with crispy pork - 5/5. The kids loved this so much we needed up having to order two. 2) garlic salmon - 4/5. Served over a bed of veggies. This one was à la cart so we had to order a side of rice. It's enough for one person. This was covered with garlicky goodness. My son was wanting more. 3) Panang curry - 5/5. Not pictured here. The staff was friendly and quickly greeted and guided me to my reserved table. The space was cozy and warm while having a minimalist vibe, but still had that small business owner feel to it. The menu had so many food options, more than some of the other thai spots around in OC. Here, you'll find some more rare dishes besides your more common and popular noodle and curry dishes. Dishes we ordered: - Crab Noodles: this was probably the most popular one for the table! Amount of crab was pretty good for the value and noodles were perfectly sweet and savory with the fried egg. Would definitely order this again! - Panang Curry with Chicken: this was also probably one of the best panang that I've had! The chicken was also very tender. Medium heat was the perfect amount of space that packed flavor with just the right kick to it. - Creamy Udon in Tom Yum Soup: just a little mild for those who don't want anything too spicy. While the crispy pork had good flavor, the pieces were a bit hard to chew. - Pad Thai: not usually my go-to dish because it's more sweet than savory, but this dish was pretty good. - Egg Rolls: perfect to share as an appetizer! Filling was well seasoned and rolls were lightly fried for a good crispy texture. With so many popular thai spots around OC, it can be tricky finding one that checks all the marks, but this one might have it all! Now I just need to make sure to save stomach space to try their mango sticky rice...

The inside ambience was modern, trendy, and really cute... although we were seated toward the back, which didn't feel quite as nice as the front dining area. Now onto the important part... the food Holy basil Wagyu beef - $22.99 | 4/10 This was unfortunately the biggest letdown of the night. I had read another review saying it wasn't their favorite, but still wanted to try it because my hubby loves pad kra pow and this seemed somewhat similar. Sadly... it missed the mark for us. The rice was very dry, the wagyu mince was dry and overly salty, and overall it was our least favorite dish of the night. Honestly one of the more disappointing Thai dishes I've had in a while. Would personally skip unless dry rice and salty minced beef is your thing. Papaya Salad + Soft Shell Crab - $18.99 + $2 | 8/10 This one was super tasty. We chose medium spice, and it had just the right kick. Great balance of sour, sweet, savory, crunch, and freshness with the papaya, carrots, peanuts, and dressing all working really well together. Definitely one of our favorites. Pad See Ew with Beef - $16.99 + $2 beef | 8/10 Really enjoyed this one. The standout was definitely the beef -- incredibly tender, probably some of the softest beef I've had in a Thai noodle dish. The noodles were flavorful, the veggies were cooked nicely, and overall just a very satisfying plate. Crispy Spicy Catfish - $20.99 | 8/10 Another favorite. Loved the crispy texture of the catfish with the sweet-spicy sauce. The bell peppers balanced it nicely, and I also loved those little peppercorn stems mixed in -- added a really fun flavor and texture. Very flavorful dish overall. Fried Calamari - $12.99 | 6/10 This one was just okay. Hubby and I always order calamari when we see it on a menu because we love comparing them from place to place, but this one came out pretty cold and didn't taste fresh out of the fryer. Could've skipped this one and not missed much. Overall: Service was very friendly and welcoming all night -- our servers were kind, attentive, and honestly probably what pushed the experience higher for us. for service. Food-wise, we enjoyed 3 out of the 5 dishes, so overall I'd personally land around 3/5 stars. A solid spot to try if you're in the area and wanting Thai food, especially if you're craving papaya salad, pad see ew, or catfish. Not sure it's somewhere I'd specifically drive out to Tustin for again, but I'm glad we gave it a try. Happy eats!

I ordered the Khao Soi Fried Rice and the Khao Soi, both with the spicy pork Thai sausage. The Khao Soi Fried Rice was easily a 10/10. It somehow tasted exactly like khao soi noodles but in fried rice form. They really captured the flavor of the dish perfectly, and the mix of textures from the crispy and softer elements made every bite great. The spicy pork Thai sausage was another 10/10. It had a ton of flavor, was noticeably better than the Thai sausage I've had at other Thai restaurants, and stayed juicy without being dry. The Khao Soi itself was a solid 9/10. The broth was rich, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. My only minor preference would be slightly thicker noodles with a bit more chew, but that's completely personal taste and not really a knock on the dish. Overall, everything was delicious and I'd absolutely come back for that Khao Soi fried rice alone!

The soup is somewhat viscous, creamy yet consistent. It had a somewhat rich but not overpowering curry flavor. Very nice!! The adults loved the crying tiger. We ordered it medium but could have been more tender. We hoped for a larger portion. We ordered the drunken noodle for the kids. The noodles had great texture and consistency . The veggies were fresh. The crab fried rice was fluffy and savory. The adults were asking where was the crab meat. We didn't see or taste any meat. Was it crab flavored rice or crab fried rice? The service was fast and attentive despite being crowded. Overall it is nice option for thai food.

Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The spices, freshness, and balance in the dishes were spot on. Each bite was satisfying and full of that bold, crave-worthy Thai taste. While the curry wasn't my personal favorite (the veggies were a bit undercooked for my taste), everything else more than made up for it. From the appetizers to the stir fry, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Service was friendly and quick, and the owner/chef is always welcoming. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Thai food. You can really taste the quality and heart in every dish!
