Everyone who came in after me got their to-go orders before we did, people were seated 45 minutes after we got here and got food before we got our to-go order. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm very happy to see that Thai Chef seems to be back on track and doing much better now. The place is always full and they've remodeled the dining room. I've had the best luck with their 'house favorites/specialties' menu. The sushi can be a bit hit or miss...but is solidly in the hit department. Normally my wife and I enjoy dinner here. It is very busy and seems to be doing well. That said, maybe because their takeout business has boomed (my guess) tonight's takeout left something to be desired. The summer rolls with shrimp were split open and the insides were spilling out. Not well packed at all. And the rice I received for my red curry seemed old- hard and tasted very bland. It's about time Cibolo has great taste of Thai dishes that my family can enjoy and decent on prices. One of my favorite dish: Muu Supp Pad Prig Bai Grapow with crispy Kai Dow. Follow up with Thai ice coffee bubbles drink (Delicious). Met one of the Thai Chef (Rocky), great personality. Oh YES, he can cook!!! Folks, I made a minor complained about their bubble drink tapioca is too chewy. They fix it the way tapioca should be soft and not too chewy. Awesome little Mom n Pop restaurant. They have Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, and even American Chinese food! We had the sushi, massaman curry, and my daughter loved the sweet n sour chicken! Everything was on point and better than expected. I'm used to sub par combination Asian restaurants, but this one is actually really good. Decided to try on a whim. Food was amazing!! We had the California Roll before lunch was served and was very tasty. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and my daughter the Chicken and Broccoli both came with choice of soup. Food was amazing! Only negative was place in small we happened to go during lunch time and we did have to wait for a table then once seated waiter kinda forgot about us for a bit. This place is a hidden gem for great Thai food and is the only Thai restaurant I go to in the San Antonio area. The food is always cooked fresh to order and I've yet to have a bad meal since Chef Rocky took over. Consistency is important and he ensures what leaves the kitchen is consistent and fresh. While I have not tried the entire menu, I've made it through all of his house specials and most of the staple Thai items. His Thai Curry is one of my favorites and is excellent with seafood. The sushi is another area Rocky does right every time with sashimi grade fish. Rocky does not compromise, takes pride in what he does and produces the best Thai food in the San Antonio area. We have gone here a few times in the past couple of months, and found the food to be okay, same with the service. The last 2 times we've gone, the service wasn't very good and neither was the food. My husband noticed that the portion sizes have gone down (but the prices remain the same), and it seems like their recipes change from one visit to the next. Could be that different chefs are there at the times we happen to visit, but we don't feel that there should be such a noticeable difference in the food. Our most recent visit will be our last for a good long while. We ordered the crab rangoon appetizer, which we usually do and usually enjoy it. This time it was greasy, chewy (almost tough), and there were 2 or 3 pieces which looked as if they'd been made with too small of a wonton wrapper. Not the uniformity nor the taste we've grown accustomed to. The fried rice was not "fried" at all. It tasted like steamed rice with a bit of oil and a little bit of egg in it. No veggies, and worse no flavor. My husband had the mongolian beef (his usual), and he said it wasn't nearly as good as it had been. The meat was cut into chunks versus the normal small slices, he said it threw the texture off completely. The folks at the next table sent their food back for lack of flavor, so I know it wasn't just us. We hardly saw our waiter after he took our order, never came to even refill our drinks, and we must have waited 20+ minutes for our check. It used to be a pretty good place, and it might become a good place again, but not until they get some things figured out. read more

Thai chef has the sweetest staff. The food has huge portions and they have a variety of different food, from curry, sushi, noodles. I had the lettuce wraps and they are so flavorful! I've never had lettuce wraps that came with rice but it had good flavor! Plus it was in the crunchy side, which is my favorite. The only reason I took a star off is because when I tried to cal in my order the lady that answered didn't understand what I was saying, but that didn't stop me. What a treasure this restaurant is! A friend and I had pot stickers, chicken pad Thai, and the sticky rice mango. The pot stickers were very hot and crispy. The chicken pad Thai was so flavorful. I've never eaten pad Thai that was so savory. I enjoyed each bite. The sticky rice mango was a perfect way to end a meal. Each meal was decorated in such a lovely way on the plate that it hurt to eat something so pretty. The murals on the wall were gorgeous which made this the most beautiful Thai food restaurant that I've been to. I will be back and would recommend anyone to try it. read more

I love this restaurant. The curries are amazing, the noodles are wonderful, and they have the best egg drop soup. I have not tried the Chinese food or the sushi or pho, however I hear great things about the pho and my husband really liked their sushi. As a vegetarian , i really appreciate the tofu option for most of their dishes. I love Thai food and am usually disappointed with the quality of Thai food in the area, but this is by far the best. From the outside it just looks like its going to be an average sushi place. It was a wonderful surprise when we walked in. It's beautiful inside so cozy. Everything we ate was fantastic from apps to dessert. The Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoon, Eel Roll, Taj Mahal Roll, Schertz Roll, and Nigri Octopus. It was so good we had to get an Eel Roll to go. The only reason why I gave the 3 stars is due to service. I've visited this place earlier in the week and service was slightly slow but chalked it up to lunch time rush. Today I ordered 2 items, a sushi roll and spring rolls. Nobody else in the restaurant bur me. I waited 7 mins before someone came to ask me for my drink. At the time of my drink order I also gave my food order. Needless to say the drink came out with my spring rolls and sushi roll came out 10 mins later.
