Came here for lunch time and found out that they have salad bar open for lunches! What a pleasant surprise! They have eggrolls and spring rolls at the salad bar as well two different options of soups! We ordered pad thai and yellow curry they were both delicious but we were already getting a little full from the salad bar so we had to take our curry to go! Service was good, there were many servers there to accommodate for the busy lunch crowd! Nice place! Would like to try other items on the menu as well!
First time coming to this Thai restaurant. We ordered pad Thai and curry they were pretty favorable and got texture especially on pad thai! What I also liked was salad and soup as well as some other side dishes and sweet buffet! I really enjoyed the vegetarian soup! To me, that was the best thing out of all the items I tried! Lunch special is definitely recommended time to go there! Cheers
We enjoyed very friendly, fast service on an early Friday night. The food was very tasty, came out piping and large portions. The food and service was great, the improvement points would be in regards to curb appeal and look. It could a little refresh but overall a great experience.
Ordered lunch to go from here and overall really enjoyed my meal. I also appreciated how well they packed everything to make sure nothing would leak out. That being said, I do wish the portion size was better especially for the price.
Hunger strikes during a shopping trip and we are around research boulevard, Anuya gets a craving for Thai food, so the first thought was Thai Ladda on Parmer. Then I realized that we haven't tried a new Thai place in a while. Luckily Thai cuisines was in the same direction and closer and there was a mention of buffet on the side which was intriguing so off we went. They have nice shaded outside seating although the metal table and chairs could be better, inside is nice too. We got the cashew chicken and Pad kee mow with fried Tofu. Lunch meals come with the salad , soup and dessert buffet station which was awesome. The soups were very good, the salad choices were decent and the pearl pudding was delicious. Our main course dishes were good too. One warning though, spice level 2/5 can be spicy still, its safe to go with 1 if you are not sure. The service was good and we are going to be back here again.
During weekday lunch, you can easily make a meal from the all you can eat soup and salad bar at Thai cuisine. It costs $12.95 as of April 2025. On my Wednesday visit, they didn't have my favorite items on the bar, but it was still very good and a good lunch. For soup they had Tom Yum and Tom Jerd, which I hadn't tried before, but it was very tasty. They had spring rolls, both soft and fried, both of which had tofu inside. There was a decent salad with nice fresh lettuce, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, dried cranberries, carrots, etc., along with peanut sauce, honey mustard sauce, and an unmarked sauce that was sweet but complex. The dessert is a sweet tapioca pudding. It seemed to me that they had dialed down the heat on the Tom Yum soup and perhaps on the Tom Jerd. That's OK by me, but some people might prefer the spicy versions. Apparently, they rotate the soup/salad bar items on weekdays. I talked to a server, who told me that a couple of my favorites, Crab Rangoon and Tom Gha soup, are on the buffet bar on Tuesdays, so I'll make a point of coming back some Tuesday. The entrées that I have ordered here in the past were good, I thought, although to my taste, I've had better Thai here in Austin, and certainly in Thailand. This place gets busy around lunchtime, but the servers are friendly and efficient, and the noise level is not terrible.
I would say that I like the space here. The inside is spacious and nice for like a casual sit down. Comfortable vibes. Our server was super friendly. Had the fried tofu, egg rolls, and pad Thai. I would say that the sweet and sour sauce for the tofu was a little watery for me personally, could pack more of a flavor punch. I think the pad Thai was pretty tasty! The egg rolls are great too.
I knew I've been here in the past but wasn't sure so we came for lunch one afternoon about 12:30ish. It was moderately busy and patrons kept coming. We placed our order then went up to the side bar. I started with the daily soup that was very flavorful, and also tried a spring roll, took 1 bite and couldn't eat the rest, the eggroll appeared very thin with very little filling that was obvious. The sauces were not worth mentioning but did enjoy the soup. When the entrees arrived I the pad Thai portion was generous however the shrimp and soft tofu did not have any flavor, the flavor wasn't bad but could have used more flavor. The seafood combo my husband had were very skimpy, the squid was very chewy, it's the frozen squid that you see at the Asian stores. I was embarrassed for him since it was not much food at all for a man. Luckily he had some things from the side bar to help satisfy his hunger. While he was finishing up he pulled out something hairy or just eerie looking, I immediately grossed out or lost my lunch! I could not make it out so when we flagged the staff, we asked her what she thought it was, she acted just as perplexed as we as I was obviously still, super grossed. She took it to the kitchen and asked. She came back and said it was from the mussel shell, said it was seaweed like what looked to me like a leggy cricket or some sort of insect after that, somehow we didn't feel very confident with the cleanliness of the food. I immediately responded with "so it just wasn't cleaned well"? As she walked away with no apology. End to this experience. I have better establishments to frequent and will continue to remain in my comfort zone. Free doesn't necessarily mean good.
Tried this place out for lunch. They have a bar available that has all you want of two soups, a type of fried roll, spring roll, salad, toppings and some rice pudding looking thing for dessert. I ordered pad ke mao. I got half spice which has a nice kick. Everything tasted pretty good! Tom kha had a chicken grissle, but it happens. Still good!!! My entree came out really fast. People working there seemed really nice. I will definitely come back. Lunch special is a nice deal with alot of options!
My friends have raved about this place, especially for the unlimited soup and salad buffet. The unlimited soup and salad is only available during lunch, but they do offer lunch during the weekends which is nice. I was slightly hesitant to see how good this food was because most people talked about the value of this place. I ordered the Pad Thai with spice level 1 and was pleasantly surprised how good it tasted. I really liked the flavor and the spice level 1 was pretty spicy for me. If you are not a huge fan of spice, I would recommend no spice because spice level 1 was more spicy than I had expected. I thought the portion size was pretty good and the staff were super friendly. There was plenty of space on a Sunday afternoon and I'd come back to try their other dishes! I had the Tom Kha Gai soup from the soup and salad bar and it was really delicious. Spicy but the flavor was great.
I have gotten delivery and eaten here in person and they make the best Mussuman curry I've ever had. The tables are clean, the staff was kind. I saw them accommodate a table of 10 people with ease. Food comes out pretty quick and delicious. We are regulars and I don't know of any place that makes the mussuman curry as rich and flavorful as Thai Cuisine!
The pad soo wen had Raw eggs. Manager would not take it off the bill. The server said she would have to pay it if I didn't. So I was charged for a soup and one spring roll $14. The server was very nice. The soup and salad comes with the meal. I couldn't eat the meal at all. So if you went to a place like olive garden and the main course was inedible would they make you pay 12.95 for this? Terrible today. I've never had a bad experience before here.
We had a great time and great food here! We shared the pad see ew with beef, panang curry with tofu, and chicken teriyaki. The rice came in the shape of a heart, which was really cute. I liked the pad see ew the best. It was a perfect sweetness level for the sauce, and the beef tasted great. I also liked the panang curry and chicken teriyaki, although the portion for the chicken teriyaki was slightly smaller than I would expect. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and kind. Parking in the plaza's lot was full, but we found parking behind the restaurant. The restroom was clean.

Came here for dinner and wasn't all that impressed by the food. The green curry was just okay as was the veggie delight. I have been here for the lunch buffet a long time ago and remember liking it, so it might just be a dinner thing. read more

I'm Thai and from LA and usually hate getting Thai food in the outside of California because it's all messed up for American tastes. Even Thai food in California is usually very hit or miss, but this place does stand above the rest in Austin by being a normal family restaurant similar to the many solid ones in SoCal. Most other Thai restaurants in Austin are usually decorated extremely orientalist to cater to a certain type of non-Thai crowd. I gambled on eating here after being seeing a 1 star review complaining that the Pad Thai here was too dry. Most Americans think that pad Thai should be some kind of spaghetti soaked in sauce, so if someone is complaining that the Pad Thai is too dry then that's a good sign. Well, I was finally not disappointed. Pad Thai at 99% of all the Austin Thai restaurants are sad soupy spaghetti and this one was actually dry like it should be in Thailand. And yes, it's a bit lacking on spice and sourness which is why they give you lime and dried chili. In Thailand you'd also get sugar and fish sauce so you can customize your Pad Thai however you like it but I didn't have to ask for it here. The flavor in this Pad Thai one was good before but even better after customization and the noodles are nice and chewy because it isn't overly sauced. There's also a decent amount of vegetables but is missing the chives and fried tofu that should be here. But to be fair nobody in Austin includes chives and fried tofu. I also had the Tom Yum soup which was exactly like how my Thai dad makes it. Highly recommended to get it with shrimp which was cooked perfectly. And the Khao Soy here is also good if you're looking for something off the beaten path. Pro tip you can take the extra curry soup home to eat with rice, just add some sliced meat. I'll definitely be coming back again to try some of the other dishes and fried appetizers, which look awesome. read more

Come here during their lunch hours! They give you a very well priced entree which tastes amazing with an entire appetizer bar. The bar consists of salad, egg rolls, soup, and more! This is one of the best value for money thai restaurants I have been to as long as you come during lunch. It can get a little packed and parking is a struggle but that is always expected from a high quality restaurant. I would still recommend Titayas or Muang Thai though if I was going to go out for dinner. read more

Very good! Must try the tom kha! It's subtly sweet and creamy with mushrooms and light lemony hues, perfect with a glass of white wine. So delicate yet rich. Best Thai food I have ever had! I'm new to Austin from Houston and Thai is my favorite type of cuisine. I have been on the hunt for a new Thai place that I liked as much as my favorite place back home and LET ME TELL YOU, Thai Cuisine is WAAAAAAY better. Literally nothing compares. My search has ended and I will forever be a loyal customer! I recommend the panang curry as well as the Tom Yum soup but I'm sure the entire menu is delicious! read more
I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken. This is one of my go-to dishes when I go to Thai restaurants so I was disappointed by the food I received. My dish lacked flavor and the only substance of taste it had was a subtle kick. It was the kind of spicy that burns your mouth but doesn't taste like anything. We also ordered the Tom Kha. This was definitely the most disappointing tom kha I've ever had. The tom kha was bland and watery. It didn't have a thick broth like tom kha soups I've had At other Thai places. The soup tasted heavy diluted with water and lacked any flavor. Thai Cuisine is more expensive than some of my favorite Austin Thai places. If the food was less pricey, I would be less disappointed by the mediocre food I had. Thai Cusine was the most disappointing Thai place I've tried in Austin. Next time I eat Thai food, I'll be sure to go somewhere else. My advice: Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that tastes better and has better prices. read more

Wow! This place is real gem! It's almost impossible to find Thai food buffets! It's not really a buffet, but they do have all you can eat appetizers with the purchase of a meal. Anyway, the service was fantastic. They were courteous, and very fast with our order. Even when it was super packed, they'd walk around refilling our water. The food is fantastic too! I got the pad kee mao, and I wasn't disappointed! The serving was a tad bit smaller than most thai places, but who can complain with the amazing appetizer bar. This place even has a great selection of vegetarian option, and they don't forget them at the buffet either. They even have free dessert! WOW! I'm definitely recommending this place to my friends and coming back again! 10/10 read more

Thai Cuisine is traditionally themed, but their menu is somewhat modernized. Entrees and appetizers are marked not only as to their spiciness, but for their availability as vegan or vegetarian. They also have an appetizer bar, which wasn't open when we dined there recently. We ordered a bowl of Tom Kha to start, which unfortunately sports button mushrooms instead of the Asian variety, but was otherwise tasty. It's a big enough cauldron to share, BTW. The curried dishes are fabulous, and like other popular entrees, are offered on rotation on certain days. This forces you to try other menu items, much like eating at your mom's house. I found it hard to narrow down my choices, because so many of them sounded tasty. I loved the Pineapple Fried Rice with the brown rice option. The frying was light-touch, and the flavor combination of the scallions, cashews, peppers, curry and pineapple was delicious. Service was quick and polite, and the decor is tastefully Thai. You can get most of your favorites here, but if you're going for lunch, try to go early. The restaurant isn't very large, but it seems to have a large fan club. read more
I was pretty close to "South Dallas" the other day (also known as North of 183), for a work function, and found myself with a long forgotten luxury of time to go out to lunch with a colleague. Trying to steer away from her first choice of Tex Mex, she mentioned she liked spicy. I suggested a Thai place. Then I quickly pulled my Yelp search up on the iPhone and voilà, Thai Cuisine magically appeared. It was less than two miles away with an average rating of four stars from nearly 150 reviews. With the decked stacked in our favor, it did not take a genius to ascertain that this was likely to be a good place to have lunch. Armed with the "directions to business" button, we were there in less than five minutes. It is an easy place to miss on Parmer Lane, as it is in a strip mall with so many other businesses. Once inside, we were quickly seated. The average price on the lunch menu was $7.95 with the most expensive item being $9.95. I ordered the Pad Thai with Tofu and extra vegetables and my colleague ordered the Tuesday special, the Spicy Green Curry Chicken. All lunch entrees included the all you can eat salad and soup bar which had a nice selection of fresh salad fixins' as well as some nice starters: egg rolls, spring rolls, their Wildflower, two soups (Tom Yum and Tom Kha Gai) and purple rice pudding. This "more than a salad bar" was the Thai version (only much yummier) of Chips and Salsa at a Mexican restaurant, because we were close to full before our entrees arrived. My Pad Thai was a good lunch-sized portion, not too much, and it had triangles of batter fried tofu (not those square fried rubber balls some places serve) and fresh vegetables including zucchini, carrots and snow peas. The Pad Thai sauce was perfectly seasoned and it had just enough sprouts, nuts and egg to compliment without overpowering all the Thai goodness. My colleague loved her Green Curry so much. She had never had green curry and loved the spiciness. The portion was so generous, she took the rest to go and they gave her some fresh rice on the side to take with it. The service was friendly and prompt. The lunch customers resembled a mini United Nations, which lends itself to the credibility of their food. From the time we left the office, sat down, ate, paid the bill and left, it was about 50 minutes. So if you find yourself in the Parmer Lane vicinity of Austin's South Dallas area with a hankering for Thai food.... I recommend you give Thai Cuisine a try. read more

The first time I ever actually ate Thai food was in Australia and there's something about the noodles and curry there that I have a difficult time finding other places. I like to think that was the most authentic Thai food I've had just because Australia is so close to Thailand. Thailand's noodles and curry were just "ok". JK I've never been to Thailand. Anyway, I've had other Thai dishes that are also really great, but they can never quite match the flavors I've had in Australia. Thai Cuisine came pretty close to it. My husband ordered the Red Thai Curry with Tofu and I had the Pad Kee Mao with Tofu and extra veggies. They were both almost too hot for our poor little sensitive pallets, but the flavors were still really freaking good. I loved my noodles and veggies. The brown sauce was strong and delicious and the noodles had just the texture I was craving. Strangely enough I found that the Red Curry dish was even better the following day, along with the tofu! The flavors were bold and delicious and I really want to go back there again. Next time I'd try a milder curry and a less spicy noodle dish. Please keep in mind that I'm really not into the whole spicy thing, so perhaps these wouldn't be spicy for you. Whatever, Thai Cuisine was amazing and I hope to go back soon. read more

Finally I have found decent Thai food in our area! The food itself is good, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars, but what puts them over the top is the all you can eat bar. For lunch the bar is included in the price of your entree. I don't know if that is the case during dinner. I got the tofu pad Thai and it was only $8.50. While waiting for it I had two of the vegetarian spring rolls with peanut sauce and a cup of soup from the bar. The spring rolls were good but the soup I wasn't crazy for. I was hoping they would have Tom Kha today but no luck. The one I got had tofu, cabbage, and rice noodles and it was a little boring flavor wise. Still though, I love the concept of having the bar. We always order spring rolls to start and here you don't have to pay extra to do that. I've never seen anyone else do this and I dig it. There are all sorts of other things on the bar as well. Salad, toppings, dressings, regular fried eggrolls, crab rangoons, and even rice pudding. All have separate dipping sauces too which is cool. My husband ordered cashew chicken and liked it. You really can't beat the prices and portions here. Be careful when you say you want it spicy. They have mild, medium, and hot levels. I got the medium and added sriracha and phew!! It packed a good punch! Definetly don't think I could try anything on the full hot level here. The servers are nice, the food came out in a flash, and everything is kept clean. I'm glad I have my go to place now when my Thai craving hits. read more

From 5 pm to 9:30 its dinner time, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The wait time was 12 minutes. The Tom Ka coconut soup came out steaming, after the first taste of the soup I was hit by a delicious new flavor, it is one to not be forgotten. The Fried Rice was delicious, zesty, and flavorful. One order is enough for two people, if you also order a POT of the soup. read more
Thai cuisine is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Austin. It may not be the newest/hippest/trendiest Thai joint in town, but the flavors and prices are spot on. Pad Thai here is awesome. My GF loves their panang curry. Their Thai bbq pork dinner entree is pretty solid as well, although a little inconsistent. Their tuna tower appetizer is very tasty as well, although some people may complain that it's too heavy for a starter, which is a valid criticism and I can't disagree. But it is still very delicious nonetheless. Thai Tea and Thai iced coffees for $2 each in a large glass? Hell yeah. Thai tea being ridiculously priced is one of my biggest beefs with Thai restaurants, because regardless of how dumb I feel ordering a $4 glass of Thai tea that does not come with refills I STILL do it. Haha. So thank you Thai cuisine for having a gentle heart and charging a reasonable price for your awesome tea. read more

Their shrimp lard na, pad thai, and their coconut ice cream are all so so so so so so so good. We tried this place with a Groupon deal but turned out we found a neighborhood gem thanks to Groupon! I heard their lunch is pretty awesome, too. Will definitely give that a try soon!! read more
