Love this place! Better then all 5 of the Thai places in Santa Cruz. Food was legit delicious. Pad Thai was tasty, not too saucy but tons of flavor. This place is OK. I've ordered take out from this place a few times and the food has been fine, but not great. I don't recommend the Pad See Ew. Each time we've ordered it, it has tasted very bland. Also, if you're calling in an order I would add an extra 10 minutes to the time they said it would be ready. Each time I've ordered from there I've had to wait about 10 minutes. Delicious food- veggies so fresh, they individually add to the aroma of the delicious curry. I can smell basil through the take out bag. A couple owns and runs this place and they're two of the kindest, most sincere people I've ever met. Toys for kids to play with if you sit down for dinner with your family. While coming back from the Henry Redwoods state park, me and my group decided to stop by this place, our friend had recommend it because it was close to her hotel, and her and her bf had tried it the night before. Our waiter was very kind, an older gentlemen. The food tasted very fresh. We ordered the yellow curry, roasted duck, roasted chicken, hot and sour soup, pineapple rice, pad thai, and this beef salad(didn't catch the name) I've had duck before, and this one had a very strong taste, a little salty. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for duck but the FLAVOR was definitely there. Not bad, but just strong. Everything else was great! I really liked how the BBQ chicken had the sweet chili sauce on the side, and it was more like grilled chicken, with very very light BBQ sauce. The pineapple rice had plenty of pineapples. read more

This is my favorite Thai place to eat at. The business is family-owned and very nice and friendly. On top of that, their food is amazing! We always get take-out and find the food to be fresh and hot. My favorite is the eggplant tofu dish, but they have many other great options as well. Like other Thai places, there are many options for vegans, but none come close to Thai Heart. What a great spot! I pulled in while passing though town and was presently surprised to find this place. I had the phad Thai with tofu. I was excited as soon as it came out as it was served with limes which is the best way to eat it in my opinion. It was very affordable, $9.00 and delicious! My family loves Thai food and we have been going to Thai Heart for many years because the food is superb. The quality of the chicken, seafood and vegetables is exceptional. Our favorites are the Pa-Nang Curry, the Pumpkin Curry. Pad Thai, and the Poh-Taek seafood soup. The serving size is far larger than most Thai restaurants. Because every order is made after the order is placed, it can sometimes take up to 30 minutes (or a bit more on a busy Saturday night) to be served. I have witnessed customers complain about the wait time and I can only assume that they have no idea what goes into making a homemade Thai dish from scratch. If you need super-fast service, go to Panda Express. If you want high-quality homemade Thai food prepared by an incredibly friendly and gracious husband-wife team, then go to Thai Heart and tell them Donna sent you. We moved to Scott's Valley a few months ago. Not really Thai food fans but, our friends kept telling us we had to try Thai Heart so, we did on a whim while passing by. WOW! We are Thai food fans now! The food tasted so fresh and flavorful. We LOVED the Three flavored fish dish and the Pad Kee Mow noodles. Fresh Pineapple and veggies that were soggy. The portions are large enough we had left overs to eat the next day and it warmed up really well too. I'm interested to try the spring rolls next time judging how good our first impression was. read more

Such a disappointment. We got fresh spring rolls and found a hair on one. The filling was 50% ice berg lettuce. The peanut dipping sauce looked congealed and had oil floating on top. We are super basic and always get Pad Thai at thai restaurants and this was the absolute worst I've never had. Tastes nothing like pad Thai. The sauce was bright orange and very sweet but also sour. Tasted like a bottled Sweet & Sour sauce. No cilantro, green onion, peanuts. Sad. Also smells like sewage inside. read more

I'm currently staying in a hotel in Scotts Valley and was craving some really good Thai food. I typically have one restaurant I go to in Santa Cruz but didn't have any real motivation to drive out of town to order food. But I am so happy I didn't as Thai Heart Restaurant did not disappoint! I only wanted to order pad see ew. One down side they do not sell food with beef. BUT the chicken pad see ew was so yum!!! It was a huge portion. I was thinking it would be served in the little white boxes, but instead it was portioned well...lots of left overs for next couple of days. The dish was full of flavor and settled my cravings! We have eaten at Thai Heart a dozen or so times. The people who work there are extremely sweet and friendly, so this is a difficult three star to give. The food is ok'ish. It's definitely not top notch Thai food...far from it. It is as good or better than the other options in the area, which is kind of sad honestly. The thing that really makes this a three star review is the horrendously slow service. The last time we ordered take out we were told 30 minutes. I ran a few quick errands and showed up just about 30 minutes after ordering....and proceeded to wait another 30 minutes. There were maybe 3 tables in the restaurant occupied; so they were 20% of capacity and it still took them this long to cook some noodle dishes and curry. An hour to make so so Thai food? I didn't say anything because the guy at the front is so nice, but this is ridiculous. We will likely not be eating here again, primarily due to the obnoxious wait times. read more

Definitely one of the most underrated restaurants in the area. This is my favorite Thai restaurant i have found in this county. I personally enjoy this place more than the other local Thai restaurant in Scotts Valley. The food here is amazing and the quality has never gone down in the 5 years I've been going. The owner of the restaurant is very friendly and the overall service is great. The one downside is that sometimes the food takes a little longer than expected, however I think this is acceptable when there is only chef working. read more

This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the entire country. (I've not been to Thailand.) There are some good Thai choices around Santa Cruz area but I always find it is worth the drive to Scotts Valley to enjoy the excellent Thai cuisine at Thai Heart and enjoy the quiet surroundings of their patio. The owner is super nice and attentive. They serve brown rice as a choice, and when it gets cool in the evening I like to have hot tea which they do very well at serving hot with plenty of water. The portions are generous and I think everything on the menu must be good. Everything I have ordered has always been delicious.
