    Massaman Curry
    Christy S.

Great food, quiet ambiance, and good service. I went with some friends, and we enjoyed all of our selections. I ordered Massaman curry for the first time, and it was so flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I would definitely eat here again.

This place is amazing! I had the lava chicken and wow! It came recommended from a friend who frequents this place and it did not disappoint. It may be somewhat unassuming from the outside as it's nestled in a shopping center but step inside and you'll find a fantastic restaurant with great service, good atmosphere and most importantly, great food!

I'm gonna start with the positive, and then the minor negatives, and by the end it's going to be an outright tirade. So, I guess consider this your warning if you wanna skip the whole thing. [] The Good [] The Spicy La Moon Stir Fry was delicious. They were incredibly chintzy on the meat, so I was eating mostly carrots/cabbage, but those carrots and cabbage were able to really do the work of keeping me happy because of the great sauce/flavor. [] The Average [] Prices are kinda high. It's going to be a minimum of $15, but likely more once you include tip and stuff. [] The Bad [] The Pineapple Curry was nothing but "Heat" and "Sweet." I've had Pineapple Curry before where there were also savory elements. But this was just spicy (which I asked for it, so I wasn't opposed to that) on the front end, and then it was really sweet at the back end. Like a weird spicy dessert... [] The Outright Clown-Make Up Level Customer Service Fail [] My friend asked if he could get some hot water instead of ice water. They said sure. Then at the end when I paid for the meal, I noticed on the receipt that they had added $0.75 for hot water. I asked them about it because WTF to charging for hot water? The server tells me that it's because they had to use electricity to boil the water. I think I was stunned by the stupidity of the logic there. I think my face also communicated my annoyance about the whole thing. But I always struggle with walking that fine line of being like "yo, this is not okay" and not ending up being an outright Karen about it in the process. But the kicker was that after I paid, the server comes back and effectively said, "We got this restaurant from someone else, and we didn't know that they charged for hot water. But the next time you come, tell us and we won't charge for the hot water." Okay, there are so many layers of the trash-levels of service recovery to unpack here, but I'm going to do it regardless: 1. He straight told me that he was going to pass off the cost of electricity (which is absolute nonsense and nowhere near $0.75) for boiling some water on our behalf. 2. He waited to charge my card, before then blame-shifting to the previous owners on why it happened. 3. He lied about how he was unaware that their system charges for water, like I was going to forget that just 10 minutes earlier, he was really quick to come up with the nonsense about electricity costs when I asked him about getting charged for hot water 4. His attempt at service recovery was not to offer any form of corrective action. Not an offer to refund me. Not even a statement saying they will remove that egregious hot water charge from their system. The most magnanimous thing this tightwad business owner was offering to do was to comp me for hot water (IF I ASK), the next time I visit. To quote one of my favorite memes: "The Lion, the Witch, and the Audacity of this B..." The receipt they provide recommends 18%, 20% and 30% for gratuity. At some point, you're not interested in running a restaurant. You're interested in ripping people off and doing it through food (or hot water).

Pretty good quality Thai food in an authentic interior environment. Good Khao Soi or curry noodle soup. The cheese rolls are also not bad. Got take out so didn't get a chance to experience their service however. Recommended!

The office decided to come here for lunch and it is a great spot to eat!l I've been here multiple times just have never reviewed. I absolutely love this place! The flavors are clean & fresh and the lunch menu has great choices. On this particular visit I had the Lava Chicken Stir Fry with a heat level of 3 out of 5. Could have gone higher. The portions were good for the price which is why I love coming here!

My wife and I wanted to try something new and to open our sinuses haha. This place does just that, from being tucked in the corner of other store fronts, to the quiet cozy atmosphere. We ordered pick up so the service did take sometime but by golly was it worth it. We split the lava chicken stir fry with miso soup. Along with the out of this world Mexican sushi rolls.

Great Thai spot! Locally owned by wonderful folks. Here's what we ordered: Kao Soi Noodle Soup w/chicken- Egg noodle with carrot, onion in yellow curry topped with crispy noodles. This is a family favorite. The soup base is made of coconut milk. It's creamy, sweet, sour and salty with a very slight kick. Got a little of everything you're craving. :) Duck Noodle Soup- Crispy duck and carrot cabbage, onion, bean sprout in a dark broth with rice noodles. This dish is a favorite of my son. It's not my favorite because this rendition is more sweeter than I'd like. You can really taste anise or something in the Chinese 5 spice mix. My son loved it! We get this at another restaurant and he actually thought this one was better. Very warm and comforting food. Duck Fried Rice (special)- Tasted very much like a basil fried rice with duck. Very good. I don't know if having duck made much of a difference. I think any protein would work. My wife thought it was perfect and I thought it was a little saltier than needed. But it was still good. Our entrees were preceded by bowls of salad. The entrees seem pricey but it's comparable to other places. BUT you'll be pleasantly surprised of the quantity. You can easily split all the entrees listed above!! It's HUGE for one person. Very kind, welcoming people with a nice vibe, clean interior and fast service. This is a must try for sure!

    Chicken basil noodles

I came here twice and both times very disappointed. I got pad thai the first time and basil noodles the second time. Both are not good. I see the reviews on Yelp are mixed and I wanted to judge for myself. Maybe I ordered the wrong things but the items are pricey and when I didn't eat much because they're not good I can not afford to come back to try other things. I would not recommend and will not return. Very sad and disappointed though.

The building entrance is kinda weird if you're not entering directly from the side of the street it's on, but it's definitely something you can figure out. My husband and I got the Monday special- 2 for $32 and it was a perfect serving of food for us. We got the bayou mix butter/seasoning which had a little bit of a kick- good for me but on the spicier side for my husband. One thing I would recommend is watching a video on how to open the crab legs up prior to coming. We figured it out eventually with the tools they have but it took some practice. We also asked the staff there and she said she didn't know how to either which was pretty strange for that being a big item on their menu. Overall we enjoyed the food.

The fried shrimp had the slightest of kick (I'm admittedly "Born to be Mild") but not too hot even for me. The shrimp were crispy and flavorful and the fries were very crispy, reminding me of the curly fries from a roast beef chain. I didn't even bother with ketchup. The food was reasonably priced, hot without any grease, and arrived very quicker than expected. We will definitely be back!

It was warm if it was any hotter outside it would've been uncomfortable and I would've got up and left you eating seafood and then you're sweating in the hall no Bueno. We had the seafood boil. Basically you start out with. They had a Wednesday special which was a pound of shrimp and a half pound of snow crab we add a half a pound of snow crab and we added two eggs. They brought that bag to about 53 $57 I believe yeah so a family of 4 boils and the Kids plate came to $300. FYI we had the calamari appetizer which was so good crispy and then some little squids with bodies was up in there as well. We did the crab Rangoon's order of 12 those were so delicious crispy made fresh. I love the little sweet spicy sauce dividend Yum chef's kiss crab Rangoon's are my guilty pleasure. I could've ate every single one of those. They also have different options besides the seafood boil which we went there for the crab legs. They have fried shrimp fried fish, fried chicken nuggies you know those options as well as oysters really beautiful layout. in there is a full bar where you can sit there and have cocktails drink Ladies Night today night really cool Asian decor inside. See my pictures. I posted. Server didn't come over about six or seven minutes that was disturbing I'm sitting there waiting and waiting she is like would you like something to drink? I'm like of course we would like to drink you know there's no AC and we are thirsty, but she was really pleasant once she got there, sweet tea was on point, diabetic Sweet, just enough yes! they bring you utensils to crackers the claws, the bib, the gloves she brought extra gloves out I went with just the butter garlic butter sauce, mild flavor I didn't want heartburn. The kids got the royal crab special, which is like a mixture of all the flavors. They said that they got the medium spicy and that was hot and they like spicy so be careful on the spice levels they're hitting with that. They got the Thai Chili's up in there. Yeah the food came out. Appetizers came out quickly once we got the order going then we got our boils, but my boil came out and she walked out the owner. I believe she was Asian. She was like your bag has extra claw in there and I was like huh and so my daughter was missing a claw basically a half pound and she was like can you open the bag? I was like what like she wanted to reach in the bag and pull the claw and put it on my daughter's bag and I'm like oh my God what anyways they messed up and they actually gave me an extra claw on my daughter was shorter the claw and you know I'm already in my bag digging yes starting to eat and she literally brought the bag out was like can you just give her claw out your bag I did but no ma'am excuse me you need to replenish that claw that is you guys mistake I've already started cracking claws eating on this and then you want me to hand her something out of my bag. I'm already digging in mind you I had one hand with the glove and one hand without a glove yeah my daughter, but if it was anybody else like I don't want their germs and they don't want mine that was a little bit of gross but you're that hard up for one claw nasty nasty. I hate to see the kitchen like for real if you actually dropped the claw on the floor. They're picking that shit right back up. I know you're eating what's inside of it but it's still just a thought of it. Just a thought of it anyways Parking is fine. It was never busy but I said it was hot the food 10 out of 10 Service seven out of 10 the lady asked me to get the claw out of my bag and hand it to my daughter zero out of 10 ma'am, no thank you

This was my first visit, and I came away impressed. We started with the Calamari and Blue Crab Dip, and both were excellent. The Blue Crab Dip was the standout for me--rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. My only suggestion would be to serve it with crispier crostini to add a little more texture. I also ordered the White Balsamic Bleu Salad. It was fresh and enjoyable, but the blue cheese crumbles and candied pecans were pretty sparse. A little more of each would have made this a much stronger salad. For my entrée, I chose one of the daily specials, the Peruvian Seabass Tacos. They were beautifully presented and very good. I paired them with the Street Corn, which unfortunately was the one item that missed the mark for me. It looked great but lacked the bold flavor I was expecting and could have used more seasoning and a bit more punch overall. One of my dining companions ordered the regular Fish Tacos, and we swapped one taco just to compare. Surprisingly, I actually preferred the regular Fish Taco. That's definitely what I'll be ordering on my next visit. I also had the chance to sample the Gumbo, and it was outstanding. Rich, hearty, and full of deep, comforting flavor--it really stood out as one of the highlights of the meal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ordering a cup to start your meal. My wife chose the Fish & Chips, and they were another excellent choice with flaky fish and a light, crispy batter. As a side she had fries crispy no seasoning!! Excellent! A special thanks to our server, Cy, who was friendly, attentive, and kept everything running smoothly throughout our meal. Fish City Grill isn't quite a five-star experience yet, but it's very close. The seafood was fresh, the service was excellent, and there are plenty of menu items I still want to try. I'll definitely be back.
