I stopped here on a whim, needed a quick snack got the "fresh" spring roll and chicken dumplings. It was personally a huge miss and a waste of money. The rice paper that was wrapped around the veggies wasn't very edible and my dumplings tasted as if they'd been refried or overcooked. So unfortunate because the restaurant it self was cute inside and had good seating areas. Might still come back to give the noodles a try but will see.

Decided to give them another try and I'm so glad we did. Either their quality control improved or the original chef is back because my pad Thai was delicious. It was perfectly spiced with the right balance of sweet and tang and not overly salted. We ordered online and picked up with ease. Husband also noted that his spicy noodles were really good.

Paid by card. I went here on a Sunday night for dinner with 4 people and was seated right away since no one was inside. There were a lot of takeout orders though. Thai Ladle is located in a plaza and offers a lot of plaza parking. My party and I ordered Pad Thai with tofu, green curry with shrimp, and papaya salad, all medium spice. Medium spice is not spicy at all. The total was about $40 before tip. Cheap! The taste of the dishes was average and the portions were small. Most likely I won't go back.

We came here from the bay area. I know they have a lot of thai restaurants around the areas that I haven't tried. But this had always been my go-to place. The staff is so friendly and very organized. I was craving for Thai food so we FINALLY ordered food. I thought you guys were open on Christmas eve but they were open on Christmas day. Not on Christmas eve. That was even better for us. They have these new drinks now with boba. It is definitely fresh. We need to come back here again before we go back home.

Ordered pad Thai lunch special and chicken satay. I can't believe it's tiny portion for $15.00. Presentation was bad, too sharp and kinda dry, 4 shrimps was hard, salad on the side was limp and looks like a day old and fried items was not crunchy, oily and soggy. The chicken satay was hard with no taste, again could be a day old. What a waste! The worst Thai food I ever had.

Service here is great! I visit often to pick up a meal to bring to a family member. Food: 4.5/5 Service and Setting: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Thai Ladle is my favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego at the moment. I used to have a grudge against them because they replaced my local Indian buffet, but all is forgiven. I have not gone into the store for such a long time, but they are the best for delivery and always do an amazing job. They are my favorite Thai restaurant not because their flavors are on a different level, but because they are very consistent and use great ingredients which unfortunately is not the case for many other Thai restaurants here (no shade to anyone in particular). Side note, the best protein here is definitely their beef! Chicken Satay: 4/5 This dish is not very special and I would even say that it is even slightly on the dry side; however, there is something very addictive about it. Is it the shape, the sauce? I have no idea. The satay sauce that they give you is not too salty and is slightly sweet. While it is not complex, I definitely have a hard time replicating it with the same feel at home. I wish that the portion was a little bigger for its price, maybe another skewer or two? Pineapple Fried Rice: 4.5/5 This by far is my favorite pineapple fried rice. I know that I said that beef was the best protein and this is shrimp, but their shrimp is very fresh and large, a solid runner up. They put the perfect amount of ingredients while I feel that many other restaurants are very stingy, especially with the cashews. The curry flavor along with the sweet pineapple makes this a must get to share or for just yourself! Tom Kha Soup: 4.5/5 I normally don't get soup, but my friend gifted me some delivery and I am so glad that he did. It is similar to some of their curries but has a distinct sourness that makes it refreshing. The coconut gives the soup a slight sweetness while enhancing the savory notes of the broth. This is a great companion for any of their dishes for a splash of moisture and change of pace to refresh your palate, highly recommend! Papaya Salad: 4.5/5 An issue that I have with some papaya salad is that the fermented flavor is crazy. Though I know lighter versions may not be as authentic, something about eating fresh fruit and veggies with funk gives me weird vibes. The papaya salad served here is super fresh and appetizing with a perfect blend of sweet, salty, sour, and savoriness. You definitely get some kick with fish sauce but it's not paralyzing powerful. A must get! Thai Tea: 4/5 Getting thai tea at a restaurant versus a boba shop always hits different, you know? Their tea is sweet, rich, smooth, smokey, and has warm notes of vanilla. I have seen thai tea being made and I know that there usually isn't something special about the ways people make it, but I say Thai Ladle's thai tea is good and a great way to wash down some spice.

I ordered from Thai Ladle to have it delivered to my home and im so glad I did. I ordered the papaya salad ($8.75) and pineapple curry with tofu ($11.75) with a side of jasmine rice ($2.00). Everything tasted great. The papaya salad was super spicy (i asked for the "hot" spice level) and it definitely delivered! I couldnt even finish it because my mouth was on fire. The pineapple curry was piping hot and flavorful. I finished all of it! The rice was perfectly cooked as well. I cant speak about the service or anything about the physical location since I got delivery but im assuming everything was clean and the staff is nice! The prices were a little higher than some other places Ive been to but not by much. I would definitely come back to Thai Ladle!

I ordered their pad thai lunch special and had my order within 10 mins, that was nice. The pad thai was too sweet and chicken meat was barely any. The other thing is that they used pho noodles vs pad thai thicker noodles, so it was really soggy. I probably would try other items next time. not pad thai.

Initially wanted to try Joyee but they were madly backlogged and some of the items I wanted they were sold out so we Yelped around and found this alternative within the same plaza. I'm usually not a fan of Thai food in Socal as they have been very mediorce at best. The reviews here looked decent so we got takeout here and we were pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality. I did not expect decent asian food in Poway of all places. I got the beef pad -see eww and the noodles were cooked very well. Not too oily and the beef was cooked well, nice and tender. Some places tend to over sweeten the whole dish but they did it just right here. I would order this item again in a heart beat. I also tried their chicken panang curry which comes with rice and that was also pretty delicious. I will definitely come here again for any future Thai cravings.

Okay Thai food with good price. Got the pad see ew and pineapple fried rice. I gave four stars because the flavor of the dish is weak for me personally. I imagined the sauce on pad see ew and the sourness of pineapple to stand out a little bit more in the dishes. Might just be my personal preference. The pickup was fast. Order your food at the spicy level of HOT! My fiancée got the medium and she said her food was bland. I got mine at hot and it was amazing. I got the cashew dish. Super delicious. Service was good, the female Def Leppard shirt wearing girl was nice and friendly. Fast service and the food came out fast. They were able to make accommodations to the food also (change from rice to noodles). Great experience. read more

As a disclosure, I ordered my food through Uber Eats. This establishment used to be opened under a different name, however same menu same page design as far as uber eats go, but let me tell you; IT IMPROVES over 9000x better! Kudos to the new owner and the new kitchen staff! It is so good, I actually called them after I finished my dinner to express my gratefulness, I was so delighted for their complete turn around from the former establishment. I really hope they don't change the pricing as it in the sweet spot, it works for most people. GOOD JOB GUYS! KEEP IT UP! Maybe someday I will actually sit down and eat in the restaurant. 10/10 will order again. read more

Not great. We ordered (2) thai teas, pad thai, and pad see ew. Pad thai was requested as thai hot. You could tell the peppers were low quality and not spicy at all. We were so disappointed. We came due to the great average rating and will not return. PCU was bland. Thai teas just didn't have the right combination of tea, sweetness, and cream. read more

I fell in love with Thai food on a Navy stop in Pataya. This is the closest place I've found in 10 years to what matches my fondest memories of genuine Thai food. Tom yum had just the right amount of veggies and perfect lemon heat. Tom kha was even better. Stir fry, curry, fried rice and iced coffee are some of my favorites, but my wife and I have decided to go through the whole menu to try everything they offer at this gem. read more

We found this place in a random search for Thai food. With 4.5 stars we thought it surely couldn't be terrible. Did not expect to find our new go-to Thai place. Every dish we got was amazing. Chicken pad Thai, Thai fried rice and the pineapple fried rice, both fried rice dishes we got with chicken but you could choose your own protein. Can't wait to try more, but the pad Thai is a step above all we've tried In San Diego so far so we'll be coming back for sure!!! read more

Located in a strip mall, this gem prepares delicious Thai food at reasonable prices. Portions are generous. I ordered fresh spring rolls, chicken sate and Rama stir fry with mock duck. These dishes were so yummy, especially the peanut sauce. I will definitely order from them again! read more

Amazing! I've been to some Thai places before and they have been more of a miss but this place was super tasty! We ordered the edamame steam (they put the salt packets on the side) , Tom Kha soup (mushroom and coconut milk soup) , chicken fried rice and pad Thai. All items came out pretty quickly. The soup was absolutely delicious as was the pad Thai!!! The restaurant is small bit clean. And the server was friendly and attentive. Thai food is one of those things I can always eat no matter the occasion, so I've tried many Thai restaurants in the San Diego area. However, this place blew me away! Their pad thai was saucy, not dry like many other places, and well balanced between savory and tangy. The papaya salad was very good, nothing crazy out of the ordinary. The panang curry starts at medium spicy so there was a kick to it, but it was very flavorful, and delicious over the jasmine rice that came with it. Can't wait to come back. read more

Hot new restaurant! Food was freshly cooked and delicious. Being a vegetarian; options are always limited. Thai restaurants usually have good selection of food but vegetables are never freshly cooked. So, they taste chewy or dull. This was an unexpected find. We will be back for sure. read more

This is a perfect place to get Thai food if your family can't quite handle a lot of spice. They are one of the few Thai places that offer a not spicy option for a lot of their menu items. Everything tastes great here. Some of my favorites are the massaman curry with beef, the pad see eiu and the eggplant dish. Full of flavor and delicious every time! read more

I remember seeing this place as I waited in the Starbucks drive through a few weeks ago and thought I'd give this place a try for lunch today. I phoned in and placed my order (with a nice woman) so that it would be ready when I arrived and I was not disappointed- there it was on the table- packed up, utensils and all! Ordered my lunch special (Thai Basil with chicken) and chose "Thai spicy" heat and it was yummy! I would definitely come back to try different dishes. read more

Like that it's easy to place an order by phone and stop by within 10-15 minutes to pickup. I order lunch from them at least once a week . The employees are always welcoming . It's also vary close to where I work . Parking is not bad either . read more

Oh my!!! I had no idea they were here. I now cry thinking about how many marginal meals I had driving right by. They're set back in back of Starbuck's. I had the lovely larb salad with mock duck and a mango ice tea. Amazing!!! Can't wait to come back!!! They also have a gluten free and kids menus!!!! Yay for Poway!!!! Finally a decent restaurant. They're on a small space but have three large booths, and several tables. Check out their lunch specials!!! So happy I found them!!! Ann was my server - she is wonderful!!!! read more

Did you get a different chef? The first time we ordered from here we loved it. This time, we hated it. We ordered yellow curry and the potatoes were not fully cooked. The eggrolls tasted funny. The Pad See Ew tasted like boiled chicken and plain noodles with no flavor. I'm not sure what happened between the last time we ordered and now, but this was not a good experience this time. read more

All were okay with the exception of drunken noodles that were unbearable for me to eat.

Even when you dine in, they give you small to go containers for the chilis. I just ordered $75 worth of food and asked for the green chilis in vinegar. I got ONE mini cup. I ordered 4 entrees. Come on, train your servers better if you're gonna charge an arm and leg.

Pailin Thai is in a shopping center that absolutely gets bonkers during busy hours, mostly because of the obnoxiously skinny parking spaces and the incredibly large cars trying to cram their way into them. We ordered our lunchtime meal online, taking advantage of their lunch combo specials. I got the See-Eyew Noodles with chicken ($13.95) and my husband got the Spicy Noodles with pork ($13.95). Because these were the lunch combos, each meal also came with a small serving of the soup of the day, a small salad, an egg roll and a fried wonton. The menu said you're also supposed to get steamed rice, but we did not. I'd rank the items in my lunch combo this way: the soup (not sure what kind it was, but it was coconutty and citrusy and there wasn't enough of it, in my opinion); the fried wonton; the salad; the noodles; the egg roll. Not that I didn't enjoy the noodles, they were just not the best I've had (and those who know me know that Pad See Ew noodles are my go-to Thai entree.) These noodles were lighter - in color and flavor - than I prefer, and too sticky to easily shove in my face with a plastic fork. The flavor was okay, if a little lacking. My husband's meal was supposed to be spicy noodles, but the container was labeled "Drunken Noodles", which I'm pretty sure is a different dish. But, he ate it all up and said he enjoyed everything about it. Though he did say the serving size was smaller than expected (I reminded him it was a lunch combo, not a full entree, and for what we paid, it was a good deal. I think he agreed haha.) I'd be willing to give them another try, because I love Thai meals and we seem to be lacking in good Thai restaurants anymore.

The orange chicken was the standout--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. My search for the best orange chicken in San Diego might be over. The garlic shrimp with jalapeños had nice flavor, but the shrimp fell short. The light batter would've worked well for a salt-and-pepper dish, but with the sauce, it became pasty. As for the chicken with cashews and the kung pao chicken, both dishes tasted very similar due to the same brown sauce, which unfortunately lacked depth and flavor. Will definitely go back to try other lunch special dishes here.

This place is a hidden jem! Delicious food, nice atmosphere, friendly service and great prices. My co-worker and I went there today and ordered off of their lunch menu. I ordered the garlic & pepper chicken and he ordered the Spicy noodles w/ chicken. They give you a salad with an egg roll and a dumpling to start that are freshly made and really good. Our meals were both delicious and you can tell that they are made fresh. We both said that we are so excited to go again and try other meals! I will be bringing my family back here maybe tonight! I get to go from here at least once a week, food is delicious!!!! I highly recommend the veggie rolls with the thai peanut sauce they are amazing! Spicy Noodles and somosas are great as well. Friendly staff, however they do get super busy and sometimes they are understaffed, so just try to be patient. Definately worth it. read more
