Probably my favorite Thai restaurant in Naperville, a hidden gem for sure. The food is great and the service is amazing. Our waiter definitely knew the ins and outs of the menu and always made sure we had enough water in our cup. The style/decoration suited the setting of the restaurant. The appetizers and drinks are a little overpriced, but it's a small problem when compared to the quality and service you get there. This place is perfect for both casual eating or nice date. I would highly recommend trying this place out for Thai food! read more

We ordered the pepper steak and green curry. Both seem to be underseasoned - lacking in fish sauce for the curry and some salt on the pepper steak. The vegetables on the pepper steak are fresh and still crunchy which is good. The steak are also tender. The green curry on the other hand seem to be watered-down. The sauce is not as thick as I expected. Also, it lacked the spiciness of Thai food. Maybe a little bit of Thai chilis would be nice. There is just one server so the service wasnt as good. read more

Thai Medallion is one of the few Thai restaurants in Naperville that has very authentic Thai food. Their appetizers are unlike any other. We especially loved their Thai chicken and veggie curry puffs because we know how difficult it is to make and not many Thai restaurants places make or sell them. We were very happy with the food and service, on a Sunday evening. The place had only 3 or 4 parties, but it didn't feel deserted. The food is different from what you find at most Thai restaurants there days. It is more interesting and very nicely but gently spiced. They ask you how spicy you want it. There is quite a variety of appetizers, soups, salads. But the house specials are the really outstanding items - dishes I haven't seen at other area Thai places. The food is moderately expensive, but their top quality justifies the price. The main dishes are $12 to $18 each, and are adequate, though not huge, for a normal appetite, especially if you add an appetizer, which you should, since they are really outstanding. For example, we ordered spring roles which you'd think are pedestrian, but not at this place. The spring rolls are delicious works of art, on a tangy sauce, like top quality sushi rolls, and you get two large rolls cut into bit seize treats. read more

So let me begun by saying I'm a Thai food snob. I've had Thai food all over. I've tried every Thai restaurant in Naperville area. This restaurant has become my favorite. It is super authentic just like the Thai food we had in Bangkok and elsewhere in Thailand. It is better than any Thai restaurant I've found in downtown Chicago and I lived there for over 10 years before moving to Naperville. One recommended dish out of the ordinary is the Kua Kling with Chicken. Very very spicy but excellent. Give this place a try next time you have a taste for real Thai food. read more

The waiters were nice, but we waited for 30 minutes for our drinks and then another hour for our food. I could understand if it was busy, but there was maybe one or two other tables in the restaurant. We were patient and kind. When the bill came out, I was surprised to see nothing was taken off (I've been a waitress for years) and asked to talk to the manager. He was extremely condescending and asked "is there a problem with paying the bill?" and then was extremely rude to us. I asked if it was par for the course to wait 30 minutes for drinks and he told me "you should have canceled them and just not drank them" as if it was our fault we were in this situation. It was implied that we were trying to cheat our way out of paying which is not at all the case. I'm extremely empathetic with all things in terms of restaurant issues, but I have always rectified the wrongs with the customer. We were trying to be cordial and realistic and were met with negativity and hostility. We ended up getting 1 drink taken off. This is not what customer service should be. read more

The server did not take our order or give us water for 45 minutes. The plates were dirty. Asking didn't result in the requests being met and frustrating seeing people who came in after us getting served way before us. The first dish finally arrived and isn't what we ordered, but waiter disappered for 25 minutes so we ate it. The appetizers ( which came 20 minutes apart) were not to our liking at all. There were 4 people in our party and each person had to eat by himself because no 2 people's entrees came out together! The whole ordeal took over 2 hours and there were only 5 occupied tables. The entrees were all fair to quite good. Overll, it was very unpleasant due to the worst service imaginable. We paid full price. read more

I am a self proclaimed foodie. This place rocks! I had the red curry w chicken. I would also suggest trying green curry and ask them to spice it up. I am going back tonight for more. Nice ambiance so hope they will get more traffic inside the restaurant. read more

Been here a few times now, but the last time was awful to the point that I may never come back again. Every other time I came the food was fresh and had lots of flavor. The last time was very bland, greasy and tasteless. This is a hard location to own a restaurant and I wish a good one would stay there, but to start serving bad food is not a good idea. They may have just had a bad night or the chef called in sick, but I am not about to waste my time and hard earned money on bad food. read more

Food was great when we went a couple months ago. Unfortunately we went back and had a horrible experience! Took forever for the server to come. We placed our order for egg rolls and Tom Yum soup. The server specifically asked if we wanted meat in our soup. We said no because we don't eat meat. He didn't think about that apparently when he ordered our egg rolls. We first received spring rolls, which we did not order, so they returned them, and brought out MEAT egg rolls. While waiting for the recook, I had mentioned that we were still waiting for our soups. The "manager", the owner's 21 year old son, made a snide remark about how it was working "unless we wanted to go back and fire his father", who I guess was cooking. We were there for 40 minutes, still had not received soups, and our appetizer was wrong. At this point we were so hungry and frustrated we said to forget the soup. He said "Please don't come back". Argh! I expressed to him the poor service and my disbelief at his responses. He waved me out the door while sticking his tongue out at me?! Really?! Will never go back, and recommend you don't even step foot in the door. read more

Having returned from the Gulf of Thailand last month my husband and I were eager to have another taste of delicious Thai food. Thailand Medallion did not disappoint. I ordered the Penang Chicken Curry and my husband the See Ew. The portions were just right and the food was well prepared. I like the way they brought to our table an assortment of 3 condiments to add spice/heat to the meal. I assume that is standard operating procedure with whatever meal you order. My favorite was the red Thai chili sauce. I like food spicy so that suited me. We topped off the meal with Mango Sticky Rice , a dessert we enjoyed from street vendors in Bangkok. It was good too but would have liked it swimming in more of the yummy coconut milk sauce. It was also fun watching the action at the train station as we sat by the window. Tried the Thai Medallion for the first time last night. Started with a Chang beer. Forgot how good it was. The chicken satay was tender, juicy and flavorful, and the curry puffs were outstanding. Our entrees of stir fried cashew with chicken and shrimp Pad Thai were the best we had in years. Finished with the fried banana with coconut ice cream dessert which was delicious. Pretty good food and service! I've been here several times, and have always enjoyed what I ordered. I would especially recommend the khu kling, a delicious spicy chicken dish, and thought the other dishes were very different. Like the other reviews, I think this is a must if you are dining in Naperville with one of the best things being you can PARK right outside their door! This is the second time I have been to the Thai Medallion and they did NOT disappoint. I went with a large group mixed with parents and kids. The service was great, the staff worked with the kids at their table and us adults shared several appetizers, salads and main dishes at ours. The salmon salad was delicious, drunken noodle is my go to and it was very good, the presentation on the spring rolls was amazing. We were not rushed on a Saturday night, they have a great bar area and the atmosphere is clean and cool, not over done. Pricing is very reasonable, everything is fresh. Avoid the crowds of downtown and take a walk to the Thai Medallion, you will love it. read more
