This is one of those small hole in the wall restaurants that has regulars. It is a gem hidden in a small strip mall. I arrived around noon just in time for the lunch rush. We had a party of four. FOOD: There are a lot of different dishes on the menu, which represent a variety of cuisines. They have Filipino, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai (to name a few). To start, I got some Vietnamese shrimp spring rolls, which were served with Hoisin and peanut sauce. We ordered a few different dishes, which were pretty solid. (I can't remember which ones due to the itus that I got after eating so much.) My one complaint is that it felt a little heavy on the oil. All in all, a pretty good choice for lunch. ATMOSPHERE: This is definitely one of those places where the locals go for Asian food. You can tell that the regulars come and order the same dishes. When I came, it was busy until about 2:30 p.m., but there was a solid stream of customers. SERVICE: Decent! They weren't overly friendly, but we were there for the food. Decided to try this place in the recommendation of a friend, I read the reviews on Yelp and Friday night we had dinner, and we're so glad we did. Finding good Chinese, Vietnamese food in Palm Beach County, much less Wellington is a challenge and Haos Asian Cuisine delivered. Small, tucked away in an older plaza, your sense of smell awakens as soon as the door is open. The setting is older but it's clean and well maintained, the service is efficient and the ladies are very pleasant and attentive, so far so good. Had to use the ladies as soon as I came in, gave me a chance to see what everyone else was eating, and it all looked good! We started with Spicy Kimchi (I love it but it's hard to find) and spicy Szechuan Dumplings. The tender, juicy little dumplings were sitting a pool of spicy sauce, they were succulent, hot as in heat, just cooked in the kitchen, really good. My son ordered the Duck Noodle Soup and I ordered Beef and Crispy Rice. How do you get crispy rice might you ask, well I now know the answer, it comes to you in A smoking hot little cauldron (stayed Pipping hot and sizzling till the very end of my meal). Topped with tender beef stir fried with green onions (Mongolian Beef), it was really delicious, similar in crunchiness to the rice found at the bottom of a well prepared paella. Now to the duck, perfectly roasted duck with crispy golden skin, in a simmering hot broth, brimming with vermicelli noodles. Well, he ate it all and would order it again, as would I. I only ate 1/3 of the beef (yikes I ate most of the dumplings ) and crispy rice, brought it home and had it the next day at lunch and it was just as good, the mark of good food, good leftovers! I was stuffed but my son felt like trying a drink, a frozen coconut something with chunks of herbaceous jelly at the bottom. Smelled and tasted good, texturally a bit odd, reminded me of jello and ice cream we had as kids years and years ago. Haos we're coming back, I have to try the spicy seafood pho, and so many other dishes and I'll do take out as well, since it's closer to work than home. I can't tell you how long Emily T. has been wanting to take me here but just like I am always craving Chik-fil-A on Sundays we always end up trying to go on a Wednesday and I live hella far. Well the other day I finally got to go with her and all that raving she has been doing was on point! First off, I was highly impressed by their menu. It was huge. Usually pan-Asian restaurants do not have this many choices of every cuisine but they did. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in and two of their specials of the day were two of my favorite Filipino dishes: Crispy Pata and Lechón Kawali. And there wasn't even a single Filipino worker in sight! I didn't even up getting that or anything Filipino because I can always get that but it still made me super giddy. The next thing that surprised me is how good the food was. So I have this theory, when a menu is extremely large the food tends to be mediocre because they aren't specializing in just a few things (think Cheesecake Factory) but boy that is not the case whatsoever here. What we ordered: Korean spicy seafood noodle soup but with Udon noodle and Korean short ribs (Galbi). Let's talk about the soup first. Let me preface with my disdain for spicy food. I am a little B and cannot handle spicy. But it hurt so good I could not stop. It was loaded with so much seafood too. They did not skimp. The Udon noodles was such a good choice (props Emily T.)! It wasn't soggy and perfectly chewy and al dente. I've been dreaming about it for days now. The Galbi was good. Not the best I ever had. Certainly better at an actual KBBQ but still really good. I'll probably try something else next time. The other best part: extremely affordable! The same portion of Galbi at a KBBQ joint would easily be $20+ and it was ~$12. This place has a little bit of everything. They have quite an extensive menu. Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese is just the tip of the iceberg. This place is in a fairly quiet strip mall on Forest Hill Blvd. If you blink you might miss it. Haos is one of my favorite Asian restaurants because it offers so many different cuisines but doesn't comprise on the taste. That's really important to me. I know that's hard to do on such a large menu. But I always know that if I ordered the pho or the miso that both will come out excellent. My favorite dishes here are the Korean short ribs and the beef stone bowl. You can't go wrong with neither. This place is pretty laid back. I like coming here for me time. I enjoy a leisurely lunch while listening to some novel on Audible. The servers don't rush you and are reasonably attentive. This family run restaurant is under new management. The new owner couple bought the joint from their friends. Great selection of dishes trying to cater to all tastes; but they do not stick with any genre of Asian cuisine and mixed items from few cultures together. I had the spicy Korean beef noodles. It tasted okay, not really authentic or unique taste. It's more along lines of instant ramen you buy from Costco: only they serve it to you so you don't have to boil the water yourself. I had expected couple slices of bulgogi but it's just boiled sliced beef. The ma po tofu also lack the authentic flavor coming from the Chinese pepper corn. They conflate flavor with spice level. It can taste great while the spice numbs your gum, but sadly, this is not it. The place looks dark from the outside and the place smells a little weird. Hygiene is questionable and I got little sick after coming here :/ Overall, they should just stick with what they are growing up and keep cooking great Thai food and not try to appease every Asian pallet. read more

When I was there, it wasn't that busy so service was fast. I order the Vietnamese Spring Roll, that I don't suggest becAuse the rolls weren't very big for the price they were. The ingredients were fresh but it wasn't all that great. The Pho Special was good. Broth was very close to being authentic. Smell was on point. Great on a cozy day. The Shrimp and Chicken pad Thai was good. Big jumbo shrimps was delicious. The chicken was a bit rubbery but all in all it was a great meal. I don't suggest the Thai ice tea, a bit watery. Perhaps it was just a bad night, but I've had an extremely disappointing to go order from this restaurant. I'll break it down by dish. - Chicken Fried Rice was probably the worst I've ever had. From the rice to the chicken, everything was horrific. The chicken tasted like plastic and the rice was completely flavorless, it didn't even taste like fried rice. It just all had little taste, texture was terrible and although I am usually a fan of this American Chinese dish, I was really disappointed. - Steamed dumplings were disappointing as well. They were massive and again, I simply did not like the taste. The meat was very low grade, tasteless quality and I could hardly eat them despite the hunger. - Seafood wontons were the only ok item here, but even with that being said, I wouldn't get them again. Given the severe disappointments on the food front and the otherwise high Yelp reviews, perhaps I had an off experience that night. Even trying to be subjective, the preparations were so tasteless and bland, I don't know how one can like it. The dishes I got were not anything elaborate, but rather simple Chinese American staples and were prepared significantly below average. Every time I dine, I attempt to pick out new dishes to try, but I always resort back to my favorites as they are just delicious & "Mmm" worthy. I love the Udon Seafood Soup - it's so big, I usually have to take the rest home. My mother got me hooked on the Korean Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup; another one that offers a large enough serving to take home for later. My dining companion is in love with the appetizer "Lumpia Shanghai" - not sure exactly what they are but from the looks of it, it's little fried spring rolls that are filled with meat (so they're not spring rolls, I know.) They spruced up the menu with photos of the food, so if you're daring, try what looks good. It's always going to be great - no worries! :) Also, they added online ordering (no photos, sorry!) and I tried it last night. I was able to order, pay AND tip... all from my computer. I would say that Haos Asian Cuisine is the most authentically "Asian" Asian restaurant I've been to in Palm Beach County. The first time I went here, about a year ago, I made the mistake of getting take out and so I was only offered the take out menu. After reading all of the great reviews, I was a little shocked to be handed a menu that featured such authentically Asian items as sweet and sour chicken and kung pow shrimp. I may as well have been in City Wok. But lo and behold, I soon realized the error of my ways and was itching to try again. Fast forward a year and my friend is the Duke of this establishment, holding court many times a month and every so often I am lucky enough to join him. I've had many dishes at Haos Asian Cuisine and they all have been straight fire. A few stick out in my mind... The Curry Soft Shell Crab over rice, in a stone bowl is one of the coolest looking dishes I've ever eaten. The crab is cooked in the curry sauce and it is exactly how soft shell crab should be. It has just the right mix of crunch and tenderness, and the curry sauce that coats the crab is a perfect compliment. Everything is served in a hot stone bowl that magically stays scalding hot for over an hour. The Rare Beef Noodle Soup (pho) was a bit of a curveball for me. I am used to a pho that has a clear, sweet broth. This soup was a bit different and it caught me off guard, but I soon adjusted. Haos's pho is a bit more on the savory side, with a bit of oil in the broth, and a toned down but still there sweetness. The beef is indeed very rare and all the ingredients in the soup come together perfectly. The menu is filled with pan-Asian delicacies, many of which you will not find in any other restaurants in the area. How do I feel about Haos? Let's just say I've added an item to my bucket list: Eat my way through the entire menu here. 5/5 stars. read more

This used to be a take-out restaurant called Tin Tin. The owners recently expanded the restaurant into an eat-in and take-out called Hoas Noodles Pan Asian Cuisine. This is a very good find considering the lack of good authentic Asian restaurants in the area. Make sure you ask for the special Asian menu that features all the Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Korean dishes. They also have a Chinese-American menu for those that don't want to venture into unfamiliar territory. For an appetizer, try the Vietnamese spring rolls. I grew up eating Vietnamese spring rolls and these are delish. It comes with a traditional "fish" dipping sauce. It sounds weird, but worth trying. Definitely try their Pho (beef noodle soup). The flavor of the broth is really what makes the dish standout. I also really enjoyed the Beef Chow Fun. I know it can typically be found in most Chinese restaurants, but it's one of my favorite dishes and the Hoas Noodles couldn't have made it any better. I also enjoyed the pineapple fried rice, especially since the rice comes in a hallowed-out pineapple. They have fresh fruit freeze drinks too. I always get the avocado freeze. If you want to try a traditional Vietnamese drink, get the triple color freeze. It's layered beans (red, green, yellow) with jelly and coconut on shaved ice. The price of the food is not expensive either. The most expensive item on the special Asian menu is $12.95. I've been here several times and its the first time walking in the restaurant and the scent of cigarette smoke hits you hence why I rated this restaurant 3 star instead of 4 star. Years ago we frequented Haos because it had some interesting dishes. Notice I didn't say great or even very good. Relocating to Florida decades ago I realized that I had given up tasty favorites- Chinese, Italian, bagels, pizza, etc. I've literally eaten foreign foods in their country of origin and around the world. That's the problem. I know how it should taste. We visited Haos every few months more out of nostalgia than anything else. Also, because the restaurant is a good 40 minutes away, there was no rush to go out of the way. Nevertheless, we were going to be nearby so why not? We decided to place an order for pick up. After going over the order we asked, to confirm, the prices. The woman taking the order said that the menu pricing on their site was a few days late in "updating." I guess this happens so we let it pass. Upon arrival to the restaurant, 40 minutes later, we were told that the order wasn't "quite ready yet." In NYC, when you call in a Chinese food order, the delivery person is at the door before you can hang up. Okay, we've gone this far and didn't want to have to spend more itme so we waited. While waiting I picked up the current menu that was just used by patrons already seated. I noticed that there was no "upgrade" of pricing. I asked the woman why was that? She was obviously embarrassed, didn't address that she tried to cheat us out of a few dollars more, but gave the "I really don't mean it" smile and said that she would give us the lower price as a special gift! This, in itself, is a deal breaker for us. The food was barely passable. We ordered the Pad Thai, Beef Chow Fun, and Moo shu pork to compare. Had it not been for the stuck together noodles (not fresh) in the Chow Fun and the added vegetables in the other dishes, we wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
