I have tried ordering food here 5 times. I have never actually gotten to taste anything. 1. They only accept 2 take-out orders per half hour, and never within an hour of your calling. I have driven by when they said they were at capacity, stopped, liked in the window, and seen a completely empty dining room. 2. They are always out of basic menu items. I have tried ordering fresh rolls (out), duck rolls (out) Buddha dumpling (out - also really stupid name considering they have chicken in them), tom yum soup (out), and green papaya salad (out). The staff is always completely surprised when you react to their insane method...like you're the idiot. Apparently their business model is to serve less than 20 people a night, and only the things they feel like cooking. Not even worth the phone call. read more

Small outdoor patio. I had the papaya salad and George had the fried rice with shrimp and chicken. The papaya salad was amazing and filling though it only had 2 shrimp. Food is great, very good in flavor. The only thing that sucks about this place is the service. Every time I go it's a wait about 10 minutes just to get help. Another 40+ minutes for the food to arrive. On top of that another 10 minutes for the check.They have only one server for the place, mind you its not a big restaurant but the server is in charge of everything. He hosts, takes orders, and is a busser. Place can get somewhat busy and 1 server can't handle it by themselves. Either train your staff properly, hire more staff, or hire a waiter that is fast and efficient!!! This place is on Canyon Road!!! To receive such poor service is insane!!! read more

we ate inside during 25% capacity. it's nice to finally have a thai restaraunt in santa fe! tasty and fresh food but a bit overpriced. they also were very busy taking to go orders and it was quite loud (coming from kitchen) which didn't make the ambiance great. we will come back given the lack of thai food here in santa fe and the quality of the ingredients. read more

Dinner here was sublime. Amazing food; our family of 4 shared 3 entrees and it was the perfect amount. Food looked beautiful and tasted amazing: fresh, colorful, delicious. Our two boys tried some new things and continually remarked upon how amazing everything was. This is well above the typical Thai place. The space was pleasant, peaceful, quiet inside, with tables well separated. Waitstaff was kind, friendly and attentive, never overbearing or pretentious. Precious Thai On Canyon sits on Canyon Road near the top of where the shops and galleries are. A bright, peaceful interior in a historic adobe building. JJ uses fresh, very rare ingredients in her recipes (many of which come from her mother who is in Thailand). She does not cut any corners and this is not your standard, "takeout" pad Thai. Sit down and order something new! You can never go wrong with her delicious daily specials which she is constantly switching up. After eating here once and getting takeout twice, I am confused. The first panang curry was exceptional, the second had an entirely different flavor. The yellow curry was described as having "chicken (leg and thigh, bone in)," but was instead served with those generic, small, flabby pieces of meat. The waitress said, "Oh yeah, we changed the menu," and that was it. Over a month later, the online menu at least is not updated. The taste of the yellow curry itself was wonderful but the potatoes and carrots were hard. The wanton soup was hot and delicious. The fried rice was greasy. Visiting Santa Fe and wanted to take a break from the New Mexican cuisine, so I searched for a Thai spot close to my location. I am glad I found this place. Friendly and quick service. I got to enjoy some great dishes. Papaya salad, pad see ew chicken, tofu eggplant stir fry, spicy cashew nut chicken, and sassy chicken wings. Everything tasted fantastic fresh thai cuisine, flavorful, colorful, and most of all delicious! I would visit this place again. However, the pad see ew noodles were overcooked and tasted gummy. They added extra chicken, veggies, which made up for it but that is my only con to my experience. Really loved food and vibe here and would consider eating in-person if I am ever back in town. The owner knows what she is doing and gives you a quality product. Admittedly service is not always the best but they are having staffing issues like all restaurants in town. One thing this restaurant ISN'T is consistent! Once in a while the food is really good and then the next time or two it's just plain bad. We've asked the owner why that is and she had no answer. Tried it again and is still a 3. Take out is cumbersome with changed numbers, mass confusion and no parking. The flat noodles were sent in 1" mushy pieces. The eggplant and tofu was missing the rice. I tried it twice to be sure, and this is just mediocre thai food. The Tom Yum soup was just drowning in chili oil, as if that was what that dish is all about. The papaya salad was too hot, no sweetness, and just had these giant chunks of not very good tomatoes, not cherry tomatoes. The Pad See Ew was okay, but not very flavorful. I'd like to like this place, but I really can't recommend it. If the best thai I've ever had is a 10, this is about a 4. So, for me, it's still worth the drive out to El Dorado to Thai Bistro. read more

First time trying this place on a Sunday afternoon. Was it the cooks day off? I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp. The shrimp was mealy and bland tasting. The Pad Thai had none of the accompaniments you would expect such as fresh mung bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, extra chili flakes that normally come with Pad Thai. Flavor wise, it was rather off putting, thick with a sauce that had a bit too much fish sauce - really rather terrible. Service was okay. I am Thai food lover, and we have Exotic Thai restaurant in place where I live (southern California) and many other Thai food restaurants around. So naturally me and my wife decided to try Thai food in Santa Fe. Bad idea. I ordered Wonton Soup ( my favorite item forever) and got container full of unflavored hot water with thoroughly cooked ingredients also with "0" flavors. Very dull 16 oz dish. Next was Fresh Thai rolls (2), it was taste like someone cut grass next to the road ( I tried this item before in different Thai restaurants) with addition of small container of no more than 1/8 " of sauce, maybe even less, which after 2 dips it's gone. And last was Pad Thai with Shrimp for my wife and me ( 2 plates). Can't judge ingredients, everyone has own recipe, but shrimp was in refrigerator probably 2 years (just kidding), and was very old and everything else under shrimp was super dry with minimum flavors... We got everything "to go" and start eating in less than 10 minutes. So supposedly everything was still fresh from table. I read very nice reviews about this place, it's fine with me, but we never gonna come back to eat in this place again. read more

Wow! Great Thai food that tastes and feels authentic. Since moving from the east coast we have missed authentic Asian cuisine. What a gem for our Southwest area. We chose to sit inside due to the wind, but the outdoor area was very inviting as well. We enjoyed the Fish Cake, Mixed Veggies with Tofu, and Pad Kee Mow with Tofu. This place is a total hidden gem in Santa Fe. No wait with friendly and fast service. Parking is a chore since the city lot across the street is currently closed, but we parked on Alameda and enjoyed our 5 minute walk over. Once I walked in and they said they couldn't accept a takeout order... reason was somewhat vague, but they seemed to think they were too busy to accommodate any more orders. The location was good and the waitstaff friendly. The food, on the other hand, was mediocre at best. Not terrible, but I think the worst restaurant Thai food I've had, and I've had a lot. We had their house dumplings, which were okay but nothing special. The Pad Thai had a heavy sauce that we didn't like and chicken that tasted old and freezer burned. We ate maybe 20% of it before giving up. The Thai iced tea was okay. I ordered the Kra Pow chicken for takeout. What I got was a mash-up of chicken with an assortment of vegetables including mushrooms, broccoli, and lettuce (really) that aren't even part of this dish. Like they were throwing in all of their leftover veggies. I just hope it wasn't scrapings from people's dishes. Eww. It was a hot, disgusting mess and tasted nothing like Kra Pow.
