Honestly, probably the best Thai food I've had in Arizona. The Tom Ka Gai soup, hands down was my favorite soup I've ever had - something to order for a "death row meal"! The only thing we disliked was the avocado wontons - we wouldn't order them again but the soup and the entree were delicious! Was around the neighborhood and wanted to try this place based on the other reviews. I ordered to go, got there 10min later and the order was ready. The place is small but clean and there are indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a pad woon sen with beef. I wanted to try something different than the stuff I usually order at thai places (tom kha soup and fried rice). The noodles were cooked nicely. But I was expecting more flavor, especially from the meat. Maybe I just chose the wrong thing to try. Thai on Demand delivers just as their name implies... I was at Mountain View Park with my kids on a recent Monday evening. I looked down at my watch to realize it was dinner time. Instead of driving home and making dinner, I decided to conveniently order food for takeout on my way home. Thai on Demand to the rescue! I ordered the following: - Steamed Veggie Pot Stickers -Fried Pad Thai Spring Roll -Panang Curry with chicken done medium + steamed jasmine rice -Pad Si Ew with shrimp done medium -Yellow Curry with Chicken done hot with coconut rice It was ready upon arrival (even earlier than promised), and the service was super friendly... The Spring Roll and the coconut rice were my favorite things of the order. Unfortunately, we found that the food didn't have a ton of spice or flavor... neither curry dish was great. I was excited that the panang curry supposedly included "bell pepper, egg plants, and carrots," but there were only two small pieces of eggplant to be found. On a positive note, the servings were a good size and we had plenty of leftovers... If we order from TOD again, we'll definitely try some different dishes and go for a higher spice level. Girls weekend in Scottsdale, found this place on yelp, and now I wish they delivered to Modesto! The reviews were good, but I wasn't expecting anything near the deliciousness that I received. I guess I'm always taking everything with a grain of salt, expecting great reviews to be so-so and bad reviews to turn out better, but this really was legit: GREAT Thai food! We ordered in, because we didn't feel like heading out, so I can't say anything about the decor or restaurant. This is only about the food. Food was PHENOMENAL!! There were a variety of palettes in our group, so we chose either mild or slightly spicy to accommodate all. I could taste the difference in the spiciness, so they definitely do adjust their spiciness based on what you say. I've been to places where this is not the case, so I really appreciate when it is accurate. Tom Ka Gai-Super!!! Perfect balance of coconut milk, lime, chicken, cilantro... Just the most delicious soup!! We ordered double, and I just wish that I could've had it for breakfast as well, because we ate it all the first night. If you are a vegetarian please do not go there. I went twice and asked every time to make sure my food is onlh vegetarian. Last time when i went i ordered green curry. Similar instructions given.the food came and i start eating and found a piece of chicken in my curry. I reported but the lady at the counter just came and picked up my plate. Got takeout here for the first time last night! Was happy to see all of the vegetarian/vegan options! I had a hard time deciding what to get. Also decided I needed multiple appetizers haha. My boyfriend ordered avocado cream cheese wontons and red curry with chicken. He said his food was good! We both loved the avocado cream cheese wontons, they were delicious. I got veggie dumplings and vegan yellow curry. The veggie dumplings were very tasty, but the curry wasn't great. Maybe I should've ordered it with more spice, I got mild like I normally do at other Thai restaurants, but it was incredibly bland. I would totally come back but I don't think I would order the curry again. People here are really nice! Both on the phone when ordering and in person. I got super lost in the parking lot trying to find it, so I called and they were helpful and patient with my directionally-challenged self haha. Went for the lunch special. The lunch soup tasted like diluted soy sauce with stir fried vegetables. The flavors were not like any other Thai places that I've tried. The drunken noodle dish was too sweet and watered down flavor; noodles were thick and standard packaged noodles. They have limited menu but they do have the most common Thai faves such as curries, pad Thai, drunken noodles, fried rice and chicken basil, etc. The restaurant is small with limited seating. I think most people do to-go. We came in around 745pm not realizing they close at 8 but they still serve us without any attitude! We felt bad but that's just good customer service example. We ordered the Chicken & Eggplant with Basil but took out the eggplant cuz the hubby doesn't care for it. I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp. Reliable standards (panang curry for me) and some less common (feed my soul!) make it a sure hit for me. Yesterday it was the lunch special: full entree with soup for $10.95, which let me enthuse over crispy fish with tamarind sauce for the first but surely not last time. My friend was happy with her big heap of chicken fried rice. Sitting on the pleasant patio was a plus, and service was fine out there. We got takeout from this Thai restaurant last night. I have eaten at enough Thai restaurants and gotten Tom Ka soup to be pretty proficient in judging good from bad. Theirs had almost an excess creaminess to it, like added cream that made it very heavy and really bland. The Panang curry was really bland as well. I ordered medium spice and was minimally spiced. The veggies and the chicken were good. Brown rice was cooked well. My father got the drunken noodles and he said those were really mediocre too. We ordered the tom ka gai soup spicy medium and it was a delicious balance of sweet coconut and tangy lemongrass. For main dishes we ordered pad thai with chicken and pad key mao (drunken noodles) with chicken, both spicy medium. We do not like overly sweet orange Pad Thai. So asked for the pad Thai less sweet and still needed to add lime and the jalapeño vinegar to balance the flavors to our taste. I'm astonished by the bad and not so great reviews. This is by far the best Thai food that I've come across in all of AZ. Every ingredient is authentic and vegetables are bought fresh, from local markets. If you prefer an americanized version of Thai you will not like it. If you don't like something, or the temperature isn't up to par, just ask the owner Chris and he'll revamp whatever you want to your liking. The best Thai flavor is accentuated at a spice level of 2-3, if you go too low it will be bland because of the dilution of the peppers & their flavor. I've been here a few times. Food is freshly prepared to order with fresh tasty ingredients. The chef and owner Chris is a very nice friendly guy. He will specialize your dish however you like. I have had the noodles Curry's and some of their specialty dishes. I would recommend trying some of their house special dishes. I especially liked the crispy Chilli Chicken. Solid Thai food and friendly staff! I ordered take-out for some weekend lunch with the wife. We chose Thai On Demand based on the Yelp reviews. We had the pad thai and yellow curry both with medium heat. The dishes were pretty good, but were more mild than a medium heat. Next visit I'll order the dishes with the next level higher as I do enjoy the flavor/heat with Thai food. The staff member I picked up my order from was very friendly and wanted to make sure I had everything I needed for my take-out order.
