Visited Saturday evening and as usual, the food did not disappoint. Service was fast and our server was very friendly! They kept everything clean and it was not overly crowded. I ordered chicken stir fry while my husband ordered the beef grapow with mild spice. Everything was perfect. My leftovers reheated well the next day and still tasted fresh. Their prices did increase a bit, but I am going to chalk that up to the pandemic and inflation costs, as they are a smaller business. It's worth it and even carry out is just as good! read more

Used to be great and was my favorite Tai restaurant. They recently changed and are using a chili oil that is disgusting. Panang Curry was my favorite till a few weeks ago. This gross chili oil made this dish inedible. Last week I tried the ol' Tai staple, Pad Tai and they changed that too. Ruined by the gross chili oil. What a shame. I can't say much more than what anyone else has said. The food here is amazing and there is almost too much to choose from. I was pretty overwhelmed. We started with the fried dumplings. They were probably some of the fullest I have had in KC. And the dipping sauce was delicious. My husband is boring and had the chicken Pad Thai, mild plus spice level. It was delicious and spice level was very mild so he would go higher next time. I had the green curry. It was fantastic. Huge chunks of still crisp vegetables and I added shrimp. The use a large shrimp, not the tiny pieces you sometimes see. The rice was a little overdone for me but that worked well to soak up the curry. We ordered a side of fried rice for our toddler. She wouldn't even eat it. It was pretty awful. We took it home to "re-fry". It just wasn't cooked long enough and had nothing added to it. Maybe because it was for her because the other plates of fried rice didn't look like this one. The beer list is more so than I expected. I was happy to try a new Asian beer. And my husband was happy to see his dirty martini on the menu. Prices seemed to be fair on everything and service is outstanding. There is always someone filling a water glass or taking a plate away. But I did feel very rushed. We were asked every few minutes if we were ready. I like to linger with my drink and food and we were in and out in 45 minutes. My absolute favorite go-to place in Kansas City. Very great quality and quantity for its value. We always order within these few dishes that we love: Crab ragoons, Thai fried rice, Pineapple fried rice, Phad thai, Phad sea eaw, Phad kee mow, Thai cashew stir fry. Thai iced tea and coffee are also delicious and NOT watered down at all. The only thing we particularly did not care for was the Spicy ginger stir fry (but it's a VERY strong ginger flavor and I don't actually like ginger that much). read more

Best Thai I've ever had!! My waitress was wonderful filling up my water without me even noticing 4 times. I had got back from soccer and this was the meal I needed. Very nice place. Greeted warmly and seated right away. Started with dumplings, which were very good. The only issue was that my entree, shrimp pad thai was brought before the appetizers. When I questioned it, our server said no problem and took it back. After we finished the appetizers, the same shrimp pad thai was brought back with the plate warmed. I was a little disappointed with this place. I am a Thai junkie and during a recent stay in Overland Park Kansas for a week, I tried several Thai restaurants. The food was ok, but the waitress refused to allow me to add beef to a dish even though I told her to charge me whatever she wanted to for it. We tried this place for the first time today because of all the good reviews. I was happy that the plates were so customizable. You could pick your meat (or tofu) and then choose the amount of heat, including no heat which is not always available at other places!! I am a very white girl and I prefer zero heat on my plates! Sometimes this is not understood when I order! Haha. We got tomato fried rice, basil fried rice, a Thai iced tea and vegetable spring rolls. The spring rolls were amazing. They were fresh and had a very nice herb taste that went beyond plain lettuce. The rice was tasty but somewhat too greasy for me. The Thai iced tea was sweet but not too sweet. The service was very attentive. Overall I give this place three out of five stars. If we come back next time I will get a double order of the amazing spring rolls but nothing else which would be perfect and healthy. read more

I FOUND A F'ING COCKROACH IN MY FOOD! I used to rate this place at 5 stars, but after my experience today with it, I only wish that I could rate it negative stars. I had ordered our regular, pad thai medium heat to go. I ate mine, my fiancé ate part of hers and then reheated the remainder for dinner the same evening. She found a dead cooked cockroach in the left overs. They were apologetic and are refunding the purchase. When I called, I was told by the manager on the phone that it does happen from time to time. If you like it hot, Thai Place is your spot. We discovered via Yelp that Thai Place does Phad Thai for 30% off on Tuesdays, so off we went! We started by ordering Thai Iced Tea. I'm glad we ordered only one. It was much larger than most other Thai restaurants we've been to. It was a perfect classic rendition. We both got Phad Thai with Chicken with the spice level of hot. I almost ordered thai hot. I'm glad I didn't. Hot brings a pretty brutal amount of heat all on its own. If it were any hotter I wouldn't have been able to handle it. It was a nice sized portion. You could taste that it was going to be hot. If you're looking for classic Phad Thai flavor, then don't order it hot or thai hot. I absolutely cleaned my plate, but slightly longed for the classic flavors to come through with the heat. Stage 2 of the thai heat will likely not be a pleasant memory. I finished eating there about 30 minutes ago and my stomach is burnin' like a mofo! We each got 2 small pieces of Crab Rangoon with our meal. Someone else had said in their review that the Crab Rangoon melts in your mouth. That was a perfect description. I have never had Crab Rangoon with that kind of smooth consistency inside. It was quite delectable! We couldn't understand a word our server was saying. She also didn't know their wifi password nor did she try to get it for us. However, her normal flow of table service was on point. The best part was the bill. With the 30% off, our entire bill was $16.28! We were stuffed like turkeys when we left. On a whim we decided to try this place. It's nestled in a little shopping complex down in Overland Park. They have excellent options from noodles to curry, truly something for everyone. We started with the Far East Trio. It comes with spring rolls, Crab Rangoon, and egg rolls. All three were great. The spring rolls were so fresh and had a surprising flavor that you don't get to until bite two. We had first written them off as so so but as we had the second piece they really became the surprise on the plate. When ordering entrees you can pick from a variety of spice levels which is something I greatly appreciate. I like a little bit of heat, but not so much you can't taste any of the flavors of the dish. I ordered chicken panang curry at mild plus. It comes in a bowl with a side of rice. It had a stronger peanut flavor than coconut milk flavor, but it was well balanced. It was the right spice level for me. Little heat and I still had all the flavors of the dish. The bell peppers were crisp and gave good texture to the dish. Gary ordered chicken pad Thai and he picked the hot level. He loved the dish, but it was definitely HOT. He drank so much water and his sinuses were definitely kicked into gear. I had a few bites of his, but couldn't get past the heat. We will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes. Great meal, fast service, very happy with our experience. read more

There are two reasons I dine here regularly: Red Curry Chicken (Thai hot) and the appetizer Tiger Cry Beef. And water. Lots of water. Your glass meticulously refilled by a pleasant and professional wait staff. The burn is pure ecstasy with the sweetness of the coconut and curry flavor mixing with the Thai basil and peppers.
