I am a regular here and enjoy the food until today. It is New Years Eve and I get everyone is low staffed but that is no excuse to not provide good customer service. I was eating my crab fried rice and usually I find a crunch or two because humans cannot remove all the crab shells but this crunch was unlike any other. I spit it out and it turns out that there is a piece of metal in my food. It was a small piece probably from A package or pull to open package. I called to complain, but they didn't care that this happened to me and brushed it off like I was lying. I even asked if I could email or text them the picture and she refused. Ive been going here for years. I took the food to a friends house and they are making me bring it back to prove it. I understand there are untrustworthy people out there, but this will be my last time after years of spending holidays and birthdays at this restaurant. Worst service ever! Order the Thai Place Fried Rice, Red Curry and Tom Yum soup. Received my soup within 10 mins of ordering. The lady walks over with a to-go box and I still haven't even receive the rest of the food. I told her kindly that I am still waiting for the rest of my food. Waited 30 mins for the rest of my food to arrive and in between that time three tables received their food and were already getting ready to pay. Had them pack the food to go, but what I really should have done was tell them that I did not want it anymore. I do not recommend this place for their awful service. Tom yum soup was mediocre. The bowl was just full of soup and did not have enough chicken, tomato or mushrooms. For that price I would skip out on it. There is also a $6 up charge for a hot pot, which I feel should be included especially when you pay $11 for 3 pieces of chicken, 3 mushroom and have a tomato. I also order this spicy and it was nice Fried rice was not well seasoned at all. Brought it home and recooked it with more seasoning. I don't know if they rushed my order just to get it in or what. Red curry was made spicy and I did not ask for it to be spicy. Assuming the waiter got my orders mixed up because he did not write anything down. Great Thai place that has been around for as long as I can remember. The food is amazing! The best crab Rangoon that I have ever had with the thin crispy shell and small enough that you can pop one in your mouth and experience the crispy texture and the cream cheese, crab and scallion surprise! We typically get the basil fried rice, pad see eaw and the tiger cry beef which is super spicy and delicious! The ambiance is beautiful. Very classy. Best Thai food I've had in awhile! They did gluten free very well. My husband is celiac and didn't have any issues! The dishes come more spicy than anticipated, so our medium pad Thai was pretty hot compared to other places we've gone. The flavor was amazing! Their food is always good here! I usually come here with my siblings. The restaurant has two sections, which is great when it gets busy and is perfect if you plan to come in as a big group. The servers here are super nice and welcoming. They are very quick and always comes around when you need something. We like to order medium-spiced Basil Wings as an appetizer. For an entree, I usually get the noodle dish - Combo Pad See Eaw or the rice dish - Beef Kah Lhad Nah Grapow (Mild/Medium spice level). The Pad See Eaw is large flat rice noodles with Chinese broccoli, bell peppers, jalapenos, onions, and Thai basil in sweet dark soy sauce, finished with an egg on top. I really like this dish only at Thai Place. I've had this dish in other Thai restaurants, but it doesn't taste that great than the one I get here. It tastes even better when there's sriracha or red chili peppers added to it if I get the mild spice level. For the Kah Lhad Nah Grapow, it's a chopped meat stir fried with garlic and Thai basil over rice and topped with two fried eggs. I usually get the beef meat - the flavor is amazing! I also tried their hot and sour soup which is really good and filled with bamboo, mushrooms, and pork. Normally in Chinese restaurants they have Hot & Sour soup that tastes too sour, which I don't like. However, the soup at Thai Place is filled with the good stuff and doesn't taste that sour. Saw the raving reviews and had to try this out myself! Restaurant is currently only doing takeout due to covid, but I walked in a placed an order and it was ready within 15 min on a Friday night. Staff friendly, all wearing masks and clearly taking the necessary precautions. 1. Far East trio- three appetizer sampler with 3 spring rolls, 3 egg rolls and 4 crab Rangoons. Delicious! Loved the sauces. The spring roll would've benefitted from more veggie (kind of just a big bite of lettuce) but still good. 2. Phad kee mow, veggie, medium spice. HOLY DELICIOUS. This was SO bomb!! Such a good variety of vegetable. Actually true to the spice scale- good kick of spice without slapping you in the face with Thai heat. I love spicy though so I might not be the best judge of spicy. But still SO SO GOOD!!! I will crave this. Yum. And huge portion. 3. Crab fried rice- actually pretty terrible. There's like no crab, it just tastes like fishy rice without any crab meat and didn't have much flavor beyond that. Would not recommend. Wish I could give 3.5 stars. Went here for lunch after my wife had a meeting. Had a large group (10 people) and even tho they were busy had no problem seating us. Also split the checks and didn't add extra gratuity, which is a rarity! Descent menu with lots of typical options. I settled on the Thai Spicy plate with chicken. Must give kudos to the kitchen - the food came out very quickly! All 10 of us had our meals within I'd say a max of 3 mins from the first people getting their food to the last. Meal came with soup or a "salad." I opted for the salad which was the most disappointing part. Some iceberg lettuce, a few tomato pieces and some cucumber, with a peanut sauce. Could have done without. The Thai Spicy chicken I ordered medium heat but must say there was not a lot of kick. Had a few condiments on the table and was able to spice it up a bit. Overall good flavor and a good lunch portion size - not too big and pretty much everyone at the table was able to finish their plates without being overwhelmed. Reasonably priced at $12.95. Overall a good restaurant and if I'm in the area I would go back, but I would not go out of my way to eat there. read more

Wow! Wandering Words are so happy they found this little gem! It's located in a little shopping center so very unassuming BUT what a wonderful surprise when you walk through the door. Has an authentic Asian/Thai aesthetic! Loved all the decor. Restaurant May look small from the outside or when you first walk in but surprise there is another huge room off to the right. I had the vegetable pad Thai and my husband had the red curry and we shared the vegetable spring rolls!!!! EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY MOUTH WATERING DELICIOUSNESS!!!! At one time there were a number of Thai Places around the metro, but that time has come and gone. Life has come full circle. This location is the first and the last. It also, in my humble opinion, serves the best Thai food in town. I've mentioned in previous reviews that I like the basics. That hasn't changed here. My go-to is the Chicken Pad Thai served Mild+. It's full of flavor a packs a little punch. If I'm in the mood for something a little different then I order the Grilled Pepper Steak. I like the Crab Rangoon too. If you noticed in the above paragraph, I said that I liked my dish served Mild+. The restaurant offers the following spice levels: Mild, Mild+, Medium, Medium+, Hot and Thai Hot. I thought I liked hot spicy dishes, but I found my match at Medium. I've moved down to Mild+ and I think hits the spot. I recommend ordering a level down when you first visit. I know there are several places to go for Thai food, but this is still one of my favorites. Their curries have the most coconut milk, and their heat is spot on. We came here for my birthday with my group of friends, and this place doesn't disappoint. This place is always busy, and I believe they are now down to just one location. Their portions are generous and so tasty. The 3 mushroom stir fry with a choice of protein is so satisfying with a ton of button, shiitake, and oyster mushrooms. The brown sauce that comes with it is amazing. My seafood curry came with lots of different seafood, and the broth was so fragrant. I absolutely love their curries. If you've not tried this place, do yourself a favor and go here. To be fair, I've not really found any bad Thai restaurants here in KC, but this one is my favorite. This restaurant is my go-to when I'm in the mood for Thai, as it's consistently good and well priced. I've been to other Thai restaurants but they were always lacking something, either in taste, price, or amount of food given. Not only can I get two meals out of my dish (regardless of it being lunch or dinner), but it's well flavored and isn't all noodles. My favorite dish is the chicken Pad See Ew; at lunch, it comes with a soup or salad, and two small crab rangoons for $10. However, one should be warned of how spicy you want your dish to be: for one who likes spicy food, a "medium" is all I can comfortably handle, and that's being accompanied with Thai iced tea with cream. read more

It has shrimp, pineapple, raisins, scallions and roasted cashews.It has plenty of each, not just 2 pieces of shrimp and one cashew like I've seen at other places. Every flavor fit together perfectly. I came in last week at 9 walked through the door wanting thai food and this blonde asian girl didn't even bother come to greet us. She made the motion of cutting her neck and shaking her head. Since it was lunch it also came with soup or salad and crab ragoon. I don't eat crab so I passed on the ragoon but the salad to start was delicious! Didn't look like much but the dressing was really good, a little sweet and all the veggies were fresh. The serving size was a little smaller, but perfect for lunch. Sometimes curry is real liquid-y, but this one was nice and creamy which makes for a delicious curry. Super flavorful too! I got mild and it was a tiny bit spicy, just right for me. Very quick service too, even though it was busy during lunch and looked like not too many people serving. My mom got yellow curry with chicken and she liked hers too! This has always been my go to Thai place, but I'm now searching for a new one. I ordered the pad Thai to go and when I got home started eating it. I immediately bit into a crunch and spit it out. It was a clump of egg shells. I thought okay... it happens ... and continued eating. Then another bite with egg shell and then another. So I sifted through the dish and found about six more pieces/clumps of shell. I called the restaurant to ask for a refund. The manager essentially told me that they are busy and these things happen. He offered to give me a new plate, but I just wanted a refund. He refused and said he had 40 more orders in the kitchen and he needed to go. Will not be returning. read more
