Larb salad with chicken and no red onion. My gosh this flavor is insane and I am so happy to know that there is an amazing option for Thai now in the Davis Hwy area. At first I thought the pricing looked a little high for Pensacola and not being downtown but now I know why. Besides the devastation the food industry has endured and just opening a new place during a pandemic I encourage you to look past the price of the meals and support this new restaurant. There is so much flavor and fresh ingredients being used that I look forward to trying more dishes from here. I did have the fresh spring rolls with rice paper and they were delicious also. Okay so truth be told, I live less than an hour from Las Vegas. I have access to some of the most amazing chefs in the world. With that said, if you are in the area, you must eat here. I did not have high expectations for this place because it is in a semi failing mall. I ordered the garlic edamame, cucumber salad, drunken noodles with chicken, plain fried rice with chicken and drum roll...the Panang curry roasted duck! YES, it is the chefs special and oh boy is it ever! YES it is 28 bucks! Did I mention the skin is crisped to perfection and the meat is super tender. I don't care about the price and neither should you....order it or you will always be wondering! It is amazing. My hubby said the drunken noodles were a five star as well. Me and my daughter came here yesterday, we were craving crab ragoons. We also decided to get some coconut shrimp. The restaurant itself was very comfortable and our waitress and other staff were all sooo friendly. We got the boba, we weren't too crazy about the boba (the taste seemed a little watered down) but not so bad that we couldn't drink them. The coconut shrimp and crab ragoons along with the sauce was sooo amazing! I would definitely come back for that, I would just skip out on the boba. read more

Back at Thai Rice again! This time we ordered the Veggie Egg Rolls, Pot Stickers, Pad Woon Sen and Chicken Larb. We both loved the egg rolls, but Helen did not like the pot stickers. She is funny about meat and it threw her off. I thought they were delicious and had a nice crunch to them. That is unusual for pot stickers. We ended up switching our large plates. She once again took issue with the meat and did not like the chunkiness of her Larb, and I did not mind it. She pretty much loves seafood so my shrimp Pad Woon Sen was right up her alley. I think that the chicken meat grind was too large for Helen and it might have been velveted (shaken in corn starch and then fried or browned in wok). I love velveted meat so no real sacrifice here but the Pad Woon Sen was better. It had a ton of large shrimp too! Service is always prompt here and we had no complaints. The only issue at all is the server was so anxious to get our order she kept coming and asking, even though we clearly were still studying the menu. Why do so many servers not know this? I will put my menu down and close it when I am ready to order. No big deal in the grand scheme of things I suppose. This isn't a Michelin starred restaurant. read more

Yes, it's the real deal, and yes, I'll bet you they have awesome off the menu meals. Thai Rice is staffed with the kindest servers around, they were very helpful and provided great insight. There menu covers the gamut of Northern Thai cuisine to Southern Thai dishes. There portions are huge, we ordered the papaya salad appetizer, pork red curry, and the boat noodle soup. Easily these three items could feed six. So, we were stuffed and satisfied. Amazing dishes, again yes, the real deal. They have American heat and Thai heat, be adventurous order Thai heat. Three star Thai heat in the papaya salad was good enough for me, it was a flavorful sweat. I really enjoyed my time there, and look forward to going back. read more

Stopped by for lunch and tried their pad thai because I've heard it's the best in the area. I enjoyed the flavor of the pad thai and appreciated the size of it. It was a bit pricier than I expected but I can only imagine how difficult it must be getting all the necessary ingredients to Pensacola. The service was wonderful! The waitstaff was always available and made sure our water glasses were always full and made sure that our orders came out as expected. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would come back to try other dishes on the menu! read more

Worst Thai food I have ever had and I have had a LOT of it all over the world since it is my favorite cuisine. Everything we ordered tasted overly salty and like it was covered in nothing but a hefty amount of soy sauce. The place looked clean as far as we could tell but that didn't make the food any better. We ended up not finishing our food because it tasted so awful but given how much we love Thai food and the fact that we were starving we just kept trying to force it down hoping it would get better. Given that all our meals were so unusually bad we didn't think exchanging for a different dish would likely improve the situation. In hindsight we should have just sent the food back and asked not to pay but we saw it as a lesson learned and won't be returning. Unfortunately the prices were also noticeably higher than average for Thai food so the low quality food was even more disappointing. The Thai restaurants in Pensacola are in general not extraordinary but this one stands out as actually being shockingly bad. read more

New Review Time: Thai Rice Last Sunday, we decided to try some new Thai cuisine. I have been trying to stop by this new restaurant for a while now, due to some strong recommendations from a friend of mine. My mouth was watering, the closer I got to the door, since the aroma was wafting all the way outside. Let's see if this will be a new location for me to get my fix of Thai, which is much closer to my house than Gulf Breeze? A small clean Thai influenced décor restaurant with a wonderful staff, since a blessing was happening today it took a little time for us to get our food. I am not complaining, because it was an amazing experience. I am always interested in all different aspects of religion. The Buddhist monks were there to enjoy a meal and say a prayer for the employees. Let's just start this review by saying FRESH, FRESH, FRESH. Every ounce of the ingredients didn't have a single wilt, which beautifully popped on every plate. The Garlic Edamame is the best I have ever had in my life. The sweet garlic sauté sauce dredged on the edamame was absolutely out of this world. If you don't like garlic, save the rest for me. I'll be there to pick it up later. The Chicken Fried Wontons were crisply fried with a tasty light ground chicken cilantro stuffing. For entrees, my other half decided to try the amazing Mongolian Beef, which was super tender with a light brown sauce. I loved my Beef Salad with the young celery pieces, but I would have loved a little more lettuce. The green apple dressing was perfectly acidly sweet. We also shared the Chicken Pad Woo Sen, which was loaded with fresh crispy veggies, tender chicken, and a beautiful mild sweet taste. All of our dishes were ordered medium spicy, which was perfect for us. We love some heat, but not so much where we are sweating. Being new to the area we found this place on accident. I have to say the food was so good! A quaint restaurant with cute decor. The restaurant closed at 9pm we got there at 845pm. The staff was welcoming and willing to help us with the menu and ordering. They were very patient and professional. Again the food was great. We ordered this fried rice American number 3. We've been excited to try Thai Rice but were having a hard time getting there based on their hours. The hours are understandable, but difficult if you don't keep it in mind - closed between lunch and dinner and on a week night. The food was...expensive. But pretty good. We got a smoothie and a tea, both with boba that was a good consistency and not too sweet, a fried rice dish, a chicken dish, and a small appetizer. Spice level was higher than I anticipated based on their scale. I'd say whatever spice you think you'd want, go down a level. We're used to some other local spots where for less money we've gotten similar quality food that lasts two full meals. That wasn't the case here. read more

This is a great little place! Chicken Satay was some of the best I've had - and the generous amount of peanut sauce was just what I needed. The Panang Curry had great flavor. Absolutely the best Thai I've had in the area. Food always comes out TOO HOT and TOO GOOD. I've never had a mediocre experience here, whether it be the food or service. The restaurant is steadily clean, as well. I typically get Pad See Ew, and it's always fantastic. Be aware of the spice levels; I enjoy a 3 (it's described on the menu as Thai Medium) but it does cause my head to sweat and nose to run...in the best possible way, and I wouldn't try a 2 (American Medium), as I feel the dish wouldn't be as good without that enjoyable spiciness level. We got the vegetable egg rolls, and coconut shrimp. Both great and piping hot with a sauce on the side. BF got Sweet and Sour Pork, which was DELICIOUS. He typically gets Pad Thai, also delicious, but branched out and was extremely pleased with the different choice this time around. Thai Rice was absolutely great! We have travelled - a LOT - including Thailand - so have a pretty fair idea of what Thai is supposed to taste like. Thai Rice has that taste - and, the same friendly feel! A bit off the Thai path, but the fried wontons (I chose chicken) were incredible - service is very fast, so ask them to give you some extra time so you can savor these! Our party had three mains - all just excellent - outstanding, even - especially for Pensacola! I have no suggestions to offer - and usually I do! Second time coming to this place and it was just as good as the first! I genuinely love this place so much. I got the yellow chicken curry and it was super flavorful and just the right amount of heat. My husband had never tried Thai curry before and he got the green chicken curry, and he really enjoyed it! He will probably go up a spice level next time. The service was fast and friendly, the same as before. On our first visit we got the larb (which is my favorite Thai dish) and I would highly recommend that dish too! We can't wait to return. read more

Papaya salad was very very bland couldn't taste any of the fish sauce, limes or peppers. Had a hint of orange flavor, maybe it was because of the garnish that was used. Pork larb had the consistency and texture of canned dog food.. again no flavors or fish sauce or mint this time. Was odd they chose not to serve it with lettuce or cabbage had to ask for that. The fried chicken with dipping sauce was.. an afterthought because the one thing that did taste good was the sticky rice. In an area that doesn't have a wide variety of south East Asian food.. they are doing a good job serving below average Thai food to a predominant non Asian customer in this area. I'm south East Asian and have had my fill of it growing up, I cannot recommend this place. read more
