Small Tom Kha Kai way overpriced for what you get, especially when you compare to nearby places. Watery, bland soup. Blown out mushrooms. Tough, outer layers of onion thrown in. My favorite thai restaurant in the area! The food is consistently delicious and I often place my to go orders over the phone. The wait is usually about 20 minutes for a phone order, which is always perfect for me. The portions are pretty generous and my favorite dishes are the papaya salad, pad thai, and mango sticky rice. Don't forget a cup of the thai iced tea, which is made in house daily! They often have coupons in local publishings and participate in the five star rewards program, which keeps me coming back! They have ample seating for small parties, both upstairs and downstairs. Luckily their parking lot doesn't get too crowded, and I've never had a difficult time finding a spot to park. Thai Spice has been one of my favorite places to get food since a friend of mine who goes to IVC has recommended it to me. The people who work there are pretty cool and their Pha Thai are THE BEST, they always serve it hot and have lots of chicken in it! I would not recommend their regular fried rice, though, because I've ordered it once and found that it was pre-made, and there's not much stuff inside, pretty much just rice with yellowish color, we threw it away without even finish 1/10 of it. Also, I don't really like dining inside because it is a little crowed and lots of people walk around, and the manager asked us to pay for a new one once we accidentally spilled our drink but wanted a new one, I guess it is our fault but usually people would just give you a new one for free. read more

When I go to a Thai Restaurant, I always get the Pat see ew. I must say that I'm pretty impressed by this place. It was pretty good. It came with baby corn, brocolli, and some other veggies. But honestly they need to give people more veggies because this plate didn't have as much veggies as I would like. not bad thai food, though I've had better. Prices are cheap and service is pretty quick. I had their pad sew ewe that was yummy! Ended up with leftovers so took that to go for dinner. My roommate got a garlic shrimp dish... but it ended up being way too saturated with sauce and oil so she couldn't finished it. They have a happy hour here... 2.99 for a chicken teriyaki bowl! cheapcheap! wonder if its any good though. Did the whole family style thing with five other people and we got the: -Pad thai - pretty good, tangy and noodles were cooked well -Papaya salad - not too spicy, enjoyable -Pad see ew - nice sauce and vegetables were tasty -Tom yum soup - lackin a little spice and sourness -BBQ chicken - portion kind of small, without the sauce it was meh -One of the fried rice - decent Overall, it was nice to have variety, so I suggest you share if you bring more than 3 people, it'll be like eating a feast! It's a fast food thai place so don't come in here having high expectations. I used to have cravings for their pad thai, with their chewy noodles and flavorful sauce. I knew it wasn't authentic, but I still liked it even though I would feel slightly sickly after it. Then there were times where the sauce would be slightly more watery and not as appetizing. Their portions got smaller, and their prices raised. Eventually, the bad experiences outweighed my fond memories of this place, and I haven't been back in a long time. Plus, you can get authentic thai food in Orange for the same price and a larger portion. I would suggest Thai Chili if you want a tangy good pad thai dish that fills me up each time. read more

Their pad thai is my favorite because it contains chicken, shrimp, tofu and egg - all the things I want in pad thai. Many places don't have all those ingredients, but this place does! Came here to eat dinner with the boyfriend before we went drinking. Everywhere else was really crowded so we decided to come here. What a mistake. We ordered the pad Thai because on their menu it stated that it was a popular item. The portion is decent for the price, but the taste isn't that great. Thai spice in general gets about 4 stars, but the Jeffrey location gets about 2.5 stars. I have ordered from them multiple times and they never seem to get my order correctly. I don't ask for much aside from light basil on my Thai spice fried rice (delicious, BTW) and medium hot sauce. I have had multiple instances of either no sauce being added, or a much hotter sauce being added while it was still heavily laden with basil. Generally speaking the food is good here, but they don't do a great job with actually giving you what you order. I prefer to go to the location in Tustin if I have the time. However, this is a good alternate if you're dealing with a time crunch, have a craving for some type of fast Thai food, and don't mind if you are a bit surprised by the spice level and random quantities of ingredients in your meal. read more

This is my go to place for take out thai. It's a bit on the pricier side, but it's seriously soooo worth it. I usually get the penang chicken, pad thai, and a thai ice tea. Their curry portions are HUGE, and I almost always have leftovers if I'm eating it by myself. Their chicken is so tender and flavorful my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Plus they give you a good amount of bamboo shoots with it which is my absolute favorite. Their thai ice tea is pretty expensive. It's almost $6 for a large, but you get a huge cup of it. I love how it tastes, the flavor is really strong but it doesn't leave a weird texture in your mouth after like it usually does. I am somewhat particular about Thai food and last time i quit going to any Thai Spice was because it was too Americanized instead of sticking to the root. I went to the shop hoping that much has been changed. Initial impression was very encouraging. Lots of customers inside waiting for food and two ladies were speaking each other in thai. Ordered fried rice and spicy basil chicken. It took a somewhat long wait to get my to-go order and had very positive feeling. I was disappointed with both. First time ever seeing bean sprout in fried rice,and i can make better fried rice at home with a regular stir fry pan. I usually look forward to burning wok taste in my fried rice, and i did not get it. Spicy basil has lots of bell pepper and hardly medium spicy as ordered and barely specks of basil. I came here with a buy one entree get one free, my boyfriend had pad Thai and I had the shrimp pad Thai. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal but however the people who made my food added a surprise to my pad Thai! Rocks. Three, to be exact. So I told one of the workers and he offered to make me a new one. I had green curry in Thailand (after the ping pong show) and I had green curry here, and it''s THE SAME. Very reasonable price + very authentic food = 5 stars from me! Food of the Gods, Thai Spice me!.. oh yea, one more thing. This is really a lunch place.. Just do it for lunch and get your curry out of the steam trays that are ready to eat. That's when they get their curry on and Mamasan is overseeing everything. Ordering at odd hours off the menu could be a gamble.. Walked in around 2pm and ordered Pad Thai spicy & Pad see ew & Thai ice tea. Pad Thai was too spicy it's so hard to eat, I could only taste the hot pepper, nothing else! I like my pad thai spicy, but this one was REALLY spicy! It's also so oily & soggy/wet. Not authentic Pad Thai. The same with Pad see ew, it's so dark and oily that it didnt look inviting. The boyfriend took me here for dinner last night, and we both LOVED it! We were craving some typa Asian cuisine; took us a while to decide based on distance and business hours (it was already after 8pm) but we were so glad we picked this place! Mind you, it is of course "fast food" Thai so if you're looking for something super authentic and fancy, you may be disappointed. But we really thought that both the food and service was great. The guy at the counter who took our order was really nice, as was the server who brought us our meal (who was also kind enough to bring me a pair of chopsticks when I asked). The restaurant itself is a cute little place with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. It also seems that they have an upstairs patio, which we hope to check out next time. But anyway, on to the most important part of the review: THE FOOD! We ordered the veggie spring rolls, the pad Thai (no egg, medium spicyness), and the vegetable curry with tofu. The veggie rolls were fantastic. Perfectly crispy, perfectly cooked, great flavor. The pad Thai was great as well. The tofu was cooked nicely, the green beans had a great crunch, and the mix of mushrooms, baby corns and broccoli was excellent. The only regret we had was not ordering it spicier! And the curry - OMG. Perfectly sweet and spicy. Oh, and we also got a Thai tea (the large is LARGE) with boba, and it was some of the best boba we'd ever had. Perfect texture! Seriously, the food was good. And after I finish this review, I get to have the leftovers for lunch. #winning read more
