Pretty disappointing.. Lacking flavor, small portion size and again the protein was annihilated. Some of the chicken was so chewy and rubbery I think it was most likely microwaved. Also, ordered a side of jasmine rice cuz I hella love white rice. I mean who doesn't. Check your white rice privilege boi! Just give me a bowl of hot rice anytime and I'm going to town. While this review is based on take out, I couldn't imagine more than 3-4 people eating within the restaurant. It is tiny so be prepared that you can't go with a larger group. The food was really delicious. We ordered the red curry noodle soup which is one of the things I order whenever I see a Thai place offers a noodle soup and this one was spot on. The veggies and tofu were cooked really nicely, my only complaint was there was hardly any broth - which is the whole point of the soup. We've been ordering from Thai Soup since it opened. Virtually every meal has been delicious and it has kept us from exploring/revisiting other nearby Thai spots. Tonight, however, was a real disappointment. I ordered the Pad See Ew with duck as I have for pretty much every meal since they opened. Unfortunately I could tell on the first bite that it was exceptionally spicy. I tried to power through - my wife had arrived home late and we were eating late and I was hungry - but I ultimately gave up. After a while I was still hungry so I called Thai Soup. I mentioned that my pad see ew was really spicy only to be told that I ordered Drunken Noodles with Duck. This was the first time I even knew that such a dish even existed which I told the woman on the phone. While sour, she eventually relented and agreed to replace my meal. I brought the spicy drunk duck noodle thing back and handed it off for a new pad see ew - which is pretty good. However, the woman was terribly rude not just on the phone but in person too - wordlessly flinging the replacement bag at me. I'm in a client service business - aren't we all? - and if I made a mistake and then treated a years-long customer like I was treated tonight I would expect to get a one star review and see that customer go elsewhere - which is exactly what has happened today. So, loyal customers of Thai Soup, remember that Andaman isn't that far and the people are really nice. And for the employees of Thai Soup, read some Danny Meyer and learn to apologize. read more

I would say this place is good overall but have a mixed review for this place based on the three items I ordered delivery. (Would give the appetizers a 4.5, virtually inedible green curry a 2, which makes it about a 3.5 overall) The appetizers were great--seafood soup and steamed shrimp dumplings tasted fresh and high quality. If only the main course was as good, il unfortunately the green curry fell very short I ordered the veggie option medium spicy. It was runny and very very intensely spicey--it kind of tasted like runny grainy jalepeño sauce (and I'm Mexican and can handle spice). I also ordered it with veggies and the vegetables were a bit sad--no baby corn or pumpkin or extra vegetables like I requested. It was under cooked brown rice (which I paid extra for) and undercooked carrots in a very disappointing waste of $11. Hungry and exhausted, I started looking for chicken noodle soup delivery before my flight took off, but couldn't find any traditional versions. Desperate for something comforting and easy on my stomach, I ordered the Jerd Noodle Soup when I landed and am so glad I did! Like a garlic Asian version of my mom's chicken soup. The broth was very mild, but still flavorful. So just the facts. The food is often great. Especially the classics like Thai spring rolls, curry puffs, Drunk Man Noodle, Tom Yum Soup. They are generous with the proteins all the veggies are impeccably sliced. They also get the heat levels of heat correctly. Basic is flavorful without being spicy. Medium has a little heat. Spicy is pretty caustic. The Red Curry Noodle soup at $10 just isn't worth it to me as the curry sauce is watery and the are about 5 pieces of string bean and one half moon of eggplant along with whatever protein. I'd like to see some carrots and other typical red curry veggies and a less watery broth. The stars begin to fall of when it comes to anything experimental. Tom Kha Soup & Num Khon Soup - spicy coconut milk based soups with too much funk. You get lost in the fish sauce and the overly sweet richness of the broth. They used to have a Tom Nuer Soup which they took off the menu - maybe. It was a black murky mess of a soup with huge dry hunks of cubed beef. Bah BLACK soup?!? I get shivers just thinking about it!!! - Larb Gai (minced chicken in lettuce wraps) is soooo dry and fishy tasting with too much onion. Gross. The Duck salad comes with toasted rice that will break the enamel on your teeth. And, yup, they are rude. I don't think they mean to be though. Maybe it is the closet like quarters. Or, maybe just different social customs. Like in my family we don't know how to whisper below volume 30. It's just that with 10 aunts, three uncles and 120 cousins, just on my mom's side you need to speak up to be heard. So flavorful, perfectly spicy, good portions, really very good. I ordered delivery and it came very promptly and all the food was still very hot. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls, pad kra prow and tom yum soup. I think the soup was my favorite (go figure the restaurant has soup in its name) - tons of chicken and veggies, good broth (slightly oily, but not bad), and piping hot. The spring rolls fell apart a bit, but contain lots of fresh veggies. The pad ira prow was a flavorful sauté that I would definitely order again. i am SOO glad our hood has this restaurant. Had a lunch special drunken noodle most recently and good level of spicyness and plenty of food for $8 and change. I am only giving 3 stars because I find it somewhat dishonest to advertise a lunch special that comes with soup and an appetizer where the soup is a very small container of broth (not soup...broth) and the appetizer is one small springroll on a piece of iceberg lettuce. So what the menu should actually read is lunch combo - comes with some soup broth and 1 spring roll.. Finally!! A place that truly delivers spicy food when you ask for "really spicy". I have a high tolerance for pepper, so I usually have to ask for extra even after I am delivered a "spicy" meal. There was no such need here. I ordered a Beef Drunken Noodle and while it was not the best Thai I have ever had (I eat a lot of thai), the spice was so good that I ordered it for lunch the next day too. The delivery is also quick and they delivered to me very close to their closing time, so that is such a plus. WARNING: do not go here expecting to sit down and eat. This restaurant was NOT what I was expecting at all. Judging from the reviews and pictures, I thought this was going to be a dine-in area. However, when I walked in, there were random boxes piled on top of boxes and I was a bit deterred. Nevertheless, my friends and I decided to give it a go.
