Stopped by during their lunch special hours and ordered everything but what was on the lunch menu. Overall the service was great.it was an older woman that took my order and delivered it to my table. She was nice & friendly, and didn't get upset when I kept adding things to my order after already ordering. I opted for to-go and brought some food home for my partner. I got the curry with noodles, the basil fried rice, curry puffs, mango stick rice, and another dish for my partner. I was excited to go home and eat everything. Decided to give this place a try after I got an offer from an app for 20% my order. I went with the vegetable spring rolls, drunken noodles and a Thai iced tea. I thought for the price of the rolls I would receive three or four but I got two small ones with a nice dipping sauce. The drunken noodles were very spicy, even though I selected mild. Unfortunately, my experience at PaPa Thai was not that great. For my to-go order, I selected the Beef Pad Thai, Chicken Noodle Soup, and Veggie Dumplings. Much to my surprise pretty much everything was inedible. Some issues with the items: the pad thai noodles were soggy as if they were microwaved and the beef was a bit rancid; the soup had a sour aftertaste; and the dumplings simply were gross. I called the restaurant to inform them about the quality of our food, but they were closed by the time we tried the food. Since I picked up the food near closing time, perhaps, that's a reason why the food was very subpar. Actually, no that does not make sense because the beef (and to some extent) tasted very old. In an effort not to get sick, we pretty much threw out the food after a couple of bites. Looking at some of the reviews, I guess my experience seems pretty on point (unfortunately) for this restaurant. read more

Food was not bad. I especially like their Thai Iced Tea. They made it extra creamy with a good amount of sweetness. For the entree I got Pad Kee Mao drunken noodles with beef & chili sauce and it was savory, noodles were soft, & the chili sauce gave it a tiny kick with each bite. My husband got the Pad Se Ew. Their vegetables in this dish was bitter and tasted odd. I initially thought he was just being a picky eater, but then I tried one and had to spit it back out and was like whoa something is going on with those veggies. Also got their Mango Sticky Rice for dessert and again, it was okay. Mango wasn't as fresh or tasty. Overall food was not bad, but not the best Thai food I've had. The decor here enhances the cultural experience, and the friendly staff made me feel right at home. I decided on the spicy Pad Thai, with a side salad. The salad was decent, and included tofu and peanut sauce. The Pad Thai was delicious, although lacking in good chicken portions. This is a hit, as it is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to eating out. The staff here was friendly throughout, and the place was decorated nicely. I am astounded that this place is in business. My group of five came in here and were seated right away. We placed our orders (5 lunch entrees, 4 drinks and a glass of water) and proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. Nothing came out, not even the drinks, not even the soup appetizers. I finally flagged down the older lady working and asked her to at least bring out the drinks. She said okay. Shortly thereafter, our drinks and soups started to arrive, all at once. The person who had asked for water, was given a bottled water that she clearly was going to be charged for. We were all confused. She was going to ask for an ordinary glass of water, but once the entrees started showing up, it became clear that expecting any competency or mistake correction from this place would be futile. One member of our party ordered the drunken noodles with chicken, another with tofu. Both were brought out with chicken. Two people had ordered basil fried rice. One was brought a basil fried rice, another one was brought a Thai basil dish with plain rice served on the side. I ordered pad Thai and asked for no bean sprouts. It was brought out with raw carrot and raw beansprouts covering it. So to recap, we got two correct orders out of five. The truly baffling thing is that the girl read our orders back to us after taking them down, and it was all correct. So how the back end screw up so badly? Who knows. My pad thai was severely under spiced, as were the drunken noodles. To top it off, later in the meal, we were served regular glasses of water. WOW this food was bad. I rarely see Thai places in Harlem so I was craving it and saw Pad Thai listed on delivery.com so finally decided to give it a try. How bad could it be? I got Tom Yum soup and chicken Red Curry. I didn't see the option to specify shrimp or chicken while ordering the soup, so it came with no meat, just lots of mushroom. No spice, no real flavor. Same for the curry - lots and lots of eggplant, no spice, no real flavor, a little too sweet. This is probably the worst "Thai food" I've had. The crispy chicken spring rolls were alright as long as they weren't dipped in the overly sweet dipping sauce. My husband ordered the chicken pad Thai and said it was good (after pouring soy sauce on it). He said he liked that there was a good amount of chicken in the dish. So.. Their $10 lunch specials are a steal since they also are valid on the weekends! The lunch special comes with a soup or salad. I had the tom yum soup which was alright. It had a decent balance between sweet and sour. My main was the pad kra pao. The flavor was okay, but the cabbage in the dish was very hard and tough to eat. Typically this dish is made with long beans instead - which I much prefer. The bell peppers and Thai basil were good though. My wife had the drunken noodles and I think that dish was a lot better in comparison. If I go back I will try a different dish and probably opt for one of their noodle plates. read more

Since it was pretty much empty, the waiters were great. They were always filling my water. For my main dish I had the chicken green curry. It comes with rice and a small bowl of chicken and veggies. Called and was told there was an issue with delivery staffing. That's fine, but another 45 minutes after that still nothing. Realize they had at that point closed their Grubhub for delivery after I called. No updates, nothing. Had to contact Grubhub for a cancellation.
