    Menu 6/25/24

Lively interior. Staff is kind. Dining room is a bit cramped. Menu is abundant and provides a wide variety of options to vegans. Red curry was okay. Tons and tons of vegetables (I subbed veggies instead of tofu or the other mock protein options). The carrots were extra delicious and sweet. The curry itself was a bit more on the savory side which I why I call it okay vs great. The consistency was on the thicker side which my palate prefers. Side salad was fair, nothing special. Bathroom needed some serious attention. TP missing, sink faucet isn't oriented for correct operation. Paper towels empty. Wait time was acceptable. IMO, prices are a bit high for some items. Didn't depart planning a return asap, but would consider it again and try something else.

    Bring on the food!

After ordering take away the last half dozen times, we finally decided to dine in. And as good as I thought their food was after sitting in an Uber-eats delivery vehicle for 15-20 minutes, it's even better fresh from the kitchen. I continue to be impressed with the quality of their vegan "meat." It brings substance, flavor, texture and protein to the dish. This time I ordered a large noodle dish. The noodles were perfectly cooked and well coated with sauce. The veggies were properly stir fried--cooked and crisp at the same time. The food is quite spicy but the heat did not overpower the rest of the ingredients. A quick squeeze of lime added some acid to cut the richness and brighten the overall flavor. I'm in town for a month--so I'll be back!

Thai Vegan was delicious and one of the best vegan places in Albuquerque. But also, it happens to be one of the best Thai places I've had in Albuquerque. We were surprised we hadn't had this place before but it's tucked away and a bit hidden off of the main road. There's not too much seating but we had no trouble getting seating for a group of 6 right away at dinner time!

Happy Songkran Festival here at Thai Vegan! Shrimp Spinach Noodle (2 orders), Oad Thai (2), House Salad, Spicy Eggplant, 4 Thai Iced Tea, 1 Chrysanthemum Tea, was exquisite, pretty display, ample portions, very good-tasting. I loved the flavors of lemongrass, ginger, sauces, most excellent. May the Kingdom of Siam be blessed. Much blessings to Thai Vegan! My friends were very very happy during three (3) hour lunch. It was most relaxing, great conversation. I want to move to Bangkok, Thailand but this food changes my mind! We have the best Thai food in America!

Don't overlook this place just because it has vegan in it's name. By a friend's recommendation, we dined at Thai Vegan and I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I ordered the dinner combo which includes an entree of your choice (limited options), a side salad, and two eggrolls. The portion size was large and I could not finish my entire meal. I had the Pad Thai with tofu and it was absolutely scrumptious. I love that this dish was far from bland. I got to try the chicken (soy) satay and you wouldn't even know it wasn't real chicken. Although I didn't have the curry here, I saw my friend's husband order it and the rice comes in a heart shape - just a cute little touch! We ended the night with coconut ice cream which was a dream. Not too sweet, full of coconut flavor, and the icy goodness just melts in your mouth. The only reason for the subtraction of one star is service. We had to wait quite a long time in order for our bill to be given and processed. Overall though, the staff here are very friendly! Definitely would recommend - it's a solid Thai place!

The last time I was here was over 4 years ago. This visit brought back memories :) On this visit, I had their yellow curry with soy chicken. It was tasty and did the dinner combo which came with a salad, brown rice, and spring roll. Although the spring roll was fried, it was good. I'm just used to the Vietnamese spring roll which is fresh. The food was tasty and the service was good. Apparently, they take reservations now, which was good to know.

Food is fabulous, fast, reasonably priced and vegan! Decor and sound track give a nice ambiance so I come here as often as I can!

Now that's red curry - big delicious flavor!

12 years... 12 years I've been driving by this place just passing it by... What the hell was I thinking? I finally stepped in last night and this Has to be one of the best thai places in town... Unbelievable! And yes the proteins here are all vegan-based, but you won't miss it. In fact, it's probably better for all of us anyway...to do vegan a few days a week anyway... But what do I know :-). Congratulations Thai vegan... You are now our number one choice for Thai food in Albuquerque, period. Also well worth noting... I stopped in at 5:15 on a Friday evening and I was walking out the door at 5:40... And mind you, they were very busy... There must've been half a dozen to-go orders lined up on their table... This place serves up extremely delicious Thai food, fast and with a smile. Well done!

Such a pretty place!! Can't wait to eat!

An escape to Thailand as soon as you open the door. (Well, truth be told I've not visited there but it's what I'd imagine.). It's very inviting and the staff is friendly. I also feel it attracts friendly guests, as well. While I do not eat chicken, beef, or pork - I have not sought out vegan places as I thought they may lack flavor. I was impressed with every morsel and it was so fun to look at the entire menu without having to read the fine print (for flesh)! Give it a try whether you're a vegan, omnivore, or what have you. Thai Vegan won't disappoint!

I went in thinking I wanted the falafel wrap on a Dosa, but I decided to try the cauliflower tacos instead, on their Chapati. These tacos were amazing, and I can't wait to try other menu options. It was so inviting that I'd even want to try to consider being vegetarian. The lady at the counter was very nice and talked me into the tacos over the falafel. It was a great choice, but I will have to try the falafel next time! This place was very cute, and welcoming with beautiful live plants living in a comfortable atmosphere. We came around 3:30pm so we could catch the masala chai happy hour. I love masala chai and rarely have the chance to get freshly made dairy-free chai. I was disappointed basically from the first moment after walking inside. The server greeted us by announcing, "We are out of vegetables today." I didn't know how this was possible; eventually, she explained that they had run out of the "veggies of the day" that come with certain dishes such as the yogi plate; they were still able to provide vegetables in other dishes like the kitchari. But I was shocked, since I love vegetables, and their veggies of the day are so prominently advertised. I asked if the other location had vegetables available today. The server was unable to tell me. We decided to place our order anyway. I had some questions about the baked goods, since I rarely get the chance to have desserts that are vegan and seed oil-free. I was curious if any of the baked goods was entirely oil-free or at least free of coconut oil. The server seemed very unmotivated to help me figure this out. When I asked about ingredients, she just repeatedly pointed me to the labels on the cookies that denoted the type of sugar each one contained as well as certain allergens, but did not have full ingredient lists. I asked if the chef or manager might be available to clarify certain ingredients, only to be told that "the chef usually only works in the mornings." I was at a loss, and eventually, with some obvious reluctance, the server went into the kitchen to ask one of the cooks about the ingredient lists. The server returned saying "Yes, the majority of the items have coconut oil." Ummmm the majority? Which ones, exactly? At this point, I gave up and just did not order dessert. I tried to order an iced chai which they were out of. I ended up getting a hot chai as well as kitchari and dal. The chai was pretty average. It wasn't particular spicy nor particularly hot. The kitchari and dal were actually incredibly delicious. It's rare to find a restaurant that doesn't use excessive salt; these dishes were perfectly seasoned with warm, nourishing spices and very little (if any?) salt. Even the fact that they were served basically lukewarm didn't detract from how much I enjoyed them. This place seems truly special and I don't know if my experience was an exception. I really wanted to love them, but they made it pretty difficult, despite having great and healthy food.

It's in a historic area but the inside is chic, modern, and lively. Bold paint colors, unique bar and table sets, and they even have chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The only caveat is that it is LOUD. Between the noise of eating, talking, and the music, it is difficult to hear each other. The service was excellent. I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout-out. He was knowledgeable about the menu and had great suggestions for drinks, appetizers and main dishes. He also, was friendly and funny, and took care of us without hovering but was somehow always there when we needed something. The food was excellent, with large portions, great flavors, clean ingredients and fresh new takes on a lot of dishes. I had the Sourdough Gnocchi with onions, brocolini, and added salmon. It was truly amazing! They had a blackberry shrub, which is non-alcoholic, that I was able to add alcohol to and it was delicious! We also had the calamari for an appetizer and it was beautifully done, perfectly cooked, with light breading, and excellent sauces to dip it in. We took a table in the entry way, not in the main restaurant. It was a quaint spot overlooking the patio section out front of the restaurant. A server met us, took our drink order, and we placed a few appetizer orders. We got some chile con queso, and the chicharron. They initially brought out the queso in two small plastic to-go containers. I was not very thrilled with that. Then, when we polished them off, they brought out some more in a small serving dish. Why we didn't get the dish in the first place is beyond me. The queso was good, but I didn't think much of the chicharron. My husband like it though. The server did an excellent job keeping our drinks filled. We placed our order, and it wasn't too long that our orders came out. I got the combination plate, red sauce, ground beef taco. My husband thought he ordered the enchilada plate, but the chile relleno plate came out instead. He told them that was fine. The ground beef taco was so delicious. The chile relleno was pretty good, and the cheese enchiladas were okay, even though it was like they were barely there. The pinto beans, not refried beans, were also enjoyed. What really set them apart was their papas - those potatoes were soft and super flavorful. Their red sauce was spicy and flavorful. The server brought out two fresh and hot sopapillas. We poured honey on those things bite by bite. I honestly think those were the best sopapillas I've had. I also used the restroom before we left. It might need a little updating, but it was certainly clean.
