I really wanted to like the food but it was terrible. The person on the phone and their COVID procedures were great though. We got the green curry with tofu dinner combo, pad see-ew with tofu, and the wonton soup. The only thing edible was the wonton soup which was full of fresh veggies and had a nice light broth. The green curry was gelatinous and way too salty. The pad see-ew was greasy noodles drowned in some weird brown sauce. There were a couple of small sad pieces of American broccoli drenched in the brown sauce. There was nothing resembling the fresh, delicious, crisp tender Chinese broccoli that is the star of most pad see-ew dishes. The tofu was also gross. The texture was not pleasing and again it was drenched completely in sauce. read more

Food was okay but not great and pricey for what you get and service was slow. The Pad Thai sauce tasted like it came from a jar with lots of sugar and salt. No peanut taste at all and the flavors don't resemble traditional Pad Thai in any way. The curry was decent but also tasted very salted and sugary. The food here just seems low-quality-- I'd be curious to learn what ingredients they use as the dishes we got didn't taste fresh. This is a great option for vegan Thai food. I appreciate that it is all vegan so you don't have to worry that you accidentally got something not vegan in your meal. They also are super accommodating for gluten free diets, just make sure to ask them which items they can make gluten free when you order. Would recommend! read more

Great vegan place! We came here for the first time since we were visiting Albuquerque and it didn't disappoint. I had the green curry and while delicious, it was also very salty for my taste. My husband had the wonton soup, which was large and the broth was very bland, so we ended up swapping plates half way through. I've mostly stuck to the classics here - pad Thai, Tom yum soup (amazing, delicious and generous portions), colored and massaman curries. Lately I've tried a few menu items that seemed more adventurous, or at least it was hard to guess what you'd get based on the name and menu description. This has been a little hit or miss, I tried the Praram's plate which was great. Another time though I tried another, more non-descript menu listing and it was rather bland and bad. Wonder if maybe they should consolidate the menu, and focus on strengths? Not sure, but I haven't been put off trying more dark horse choices, yet - it's all vegan, so how wrong can you really go? read more

I hate writing a review for the restaurant when I've only been able to order food for pick up. Even in the best case, the food is 15 minutes out of the kitchen. Food taste best when it's hot off the stove. This was overall a great meal. Little disappointed by the appetizers. Was expecting more then reheated frozen. The Tom Yum soup was excellent. Nice and spicy which is hard to find in ABQ. The Pad Thai and PET was very good. Pick up service was fast and well thought out. Friendly service. My family and I ordered from this restaurant via their mobile order at 7 PM...it is currently 8 PM when i'm writing this review and no food! I came into the restaurant at the pick time of 7:20 PM and they had not even received my order. This was incredibly disappointing since I always speak highly of this restaurant and it's food quality. Regardless, the food is delicious and as a vegetarian I enjoy the quality options that Thai Vegan offers, just beware of their mobile order system, it is not the best - BUT i will say their receptiveness was positive and they made (my rather large order i must say) ASAP once receiving it, so I appreciate their service. I would like to preface this review by saying I am definitively not a vegan, but this is my favorite Thai restaurant in Albuquerque. The food is fresh, light, and delicious. We came here on a Saturday during the lunch rush, and were served speedily. We started with the ginger hot tea, which was spicy and sweet and a perfect start to the meal. We also got the Freshy Rolls, their version of spring rolls with basil, carrots, bean sprouts, and tofu... and are basically amazing. I had the a la carte Fresh Ginger with soy chicken, which is spicy from the ginger and garlic but still a light and fresh meal with onions, carrots, celery, and mushrooms. Definitely my favorite dish. Emily got the wonton noodle soup, which is a large soup dish with rice noodles, broccoli, carrots, veggie wontons, zucchini, and onions. She says "it is very tasty"- this is high praise from her (the family vegan) The veggie stock is particularly delicious. Definitely a place to try, even if you are not a vegan!!! read more

wow! Honestly, I enjoy vegan food but had not imagined it to be this good and this varietal! Thai Vegan is even more than just the food! The decor is so eclectic that my eyes not only feasted on the beauty of the food, but I also feasted on the decor! The folks who take your order, cook your meal and attend to your needs are as pleasing as the food and the decor - a triple win! And the real surprise was that they have French fries! Not just French fries, but excellent ones. Move over McDonald's. Thank you, Thai Vegan, for helping make the evening a pure joy as I had brought my dear friends there who were visiting from Seattle. Thai Vegan Osuna in Albuquerque used to be our go to for good vegan Thai food. Not so much anymore. I ordered pad Thai with vegan chicken to go. This is not the same dish as I used to get. It was a bunch of rice noodles with a sauce that tasted like straight out of the bottle hoisin sauce. Very heavy and the sauce was drowning out any other flavors. It was really terrible. Traditional pad Thai has a light tasting sauce. Where were the green onions, carrot curls, mung beans and cilantro? Typically pad Thai comes with the aforementioned even if the veggie option isn't ordered. I'm disappointed and it seems like the restaurant isn't what it used to be. I'm a local. Wow. Heard forever about this place but finally went for first time tonight, motivated by a Doctor saying to eat more "plant-based" foods. Gotta say, this place was a total home run. I had the garlic combo dinner (soy chicken) and my wife the Pad Thai plus fresh roll. Every single bite and every single sauce was amazing and I'm extremely picky (according to my wife). Wife is just as happy and she's got enough food for 2 days now. This place beats all our regular haunts and we can't wait to go back in-person once Bern County goes green or turquoise. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious and is some of the best Thai Food you're going to find in Albuquerque. With a large menu, there is something here for everyone. They have everything from curry, noodles and salads to burgers (for those feeing less adventurous.) The food feels so indulgent and hearty that it's easy to forget that it's a health-centric menu. I have to admit, I've never enjoyed less than the best at this place. And I'm a carnivore. The owner/chef is one of those people who, as long as he has a minute, comes to talk with you. His wait staff ogles your little baby. And then the entrees arrive, they're unbelievable, Thai and then some, part traditional, part inspired, 100% artistic and delicious. I've tried the Mint Leaves, Garlic Pepper and Red Curry with soy chicken and "shrimp" as well as the pepper "steak" sandwich. I dedicate this review to my Yelp bud, John S. A few years ago we had dinner at the RIP Green Papaya in downtown Berkeley. When Mr Rinky and I were in Albuquerque we ate here THREE times in less than a week. With each bite we thought of John and all of our other Vegan buds, well actually ALL of our friends who like Thai food PERIOD! Not only was Thai Vegan the BEST vegan restaurant, but also the BEST Thai and possibly the BEST restaurant we had ever been to. This is very high praise since we have gone to at least two DOZEN Thai restaurants. The first dinner we had there we thought maybe it was just a fluke or that we were really hungry. So when we returned to Albq after our week or so trip to NM and Colorado we ate here two more times and would have eaten here four or more times but that would had involved canceling our flight back to Oakland. Each meal was as good as our first. The menu is huge and the prices are very reasonable for generous portions. I almost forgot to take photos of our food since I was so busy diving into our dishes. Among the dishes we had at our three different meals: Fried spring rolls--so tasty and greaseless. Grilled Veggie Dumplings---super tasty; perfectly seasoned. Tofu Satay with fantastic peanut sauce Crispy "chicken" nuggets---over lettuce--yum! PET--pumpkin, eggplant and tofu in garlic sauce with bell peppers, basil and chili. Garden Power Salad-- was GIGANTIC! It contained romaine, tomatoes, carrots, avocados. red cabbage, cucumber, edamame, red onion, walnuts topped with tahini dressing (there are several other choices). All for $7.95! Lentil Loaf--which wasn't too loafy but so delicious Pad Thai--rice stick noodles that were light and tasty Yellow Curry--with tender vegetables in a silky sauce Thai Ice Tea--perfect; not too sweet or too strong Pineapple Fried Rice--brown rice, curry,pineapple, onions, tomatoes, cashews and raisins--heavenly! Banana spring rolls drizzled with chocolate syrup.-----so many we shared them with some other diners. Everything was absolutely perfect ! On our first night we asked about the chef. Our server said he had been in a monastery for 30 years before cooking at a nearby casino. We talked to the chef on our second visit and thanked him profusely. He was so humble but pleased. On our third visit he came to our table and thanked us for coming. He also sang "Happy Birthday" to a customer while a karaoke soundtrack with visuals appeared on a tv screen. One nice feature is that you can get individual combo meals for lunch or dinner for under $10 which includes a generous entree serving with salad, rice or spring rolls. The service was friendly and fast even on our third visit when every table was filled. We talked to a couple who said they were regulars and had eaten almost everything on the menu and said everything was GOOD! The restaurant is smallish--maybe enough room for 40-50? The ambiance is so comfy and relaxing even when the dining room was full. Don't be misled by it's location in a strip mall. Once you enter Thai Vegan you'll be magically transported to tranquility. The chef and servers are all very sweet. Special thanks to Hannah for making us feel so welcome. Now that we're home i still look longingly at their menu. I'm not vegan, but Thai Vegan is the best Thai restaurant that I have been to in Albuquerque. I usually order the spicy eggplant or the pad thai. Both are flavorful and not greasy. My pet peeve is greasy and overly saucy Thai food because it really shouldn't be. The servers here are very friendly and we usually are in and out relatively quickly for dinner service. I also like that they have combination options for dinner and not just for lunch. Best of all, they don't ask you if you want chopsticks. Chopsticks are not used in Thailand! read more

With all the Mexican food I've eaten, and the fast food, and the not so grand food, this is the best food I've had in Albuquerque. You see, I'm picky. I don't eat steak...(blech), I do eat sea food, sometimes cheeseburgers and ground beef in tacos, and at times chicken. But, I will pick the vegetarian option, if it's there. I love vegan food. Fake meat, bring it on! I would and could easily live on tofu, and seiten for the rest of my life, if my work didn't travel me everywhere. When I saw this restaurant on yelp, I knew I had to try it. And Oh my god, it was delicious! I had the pineapple fried rice with tofu. I was starving and finished my plate. It was so worth it. There were enough cashews, enough spice, but not too much, and the tofu was kind of breaded or battered. The rice was delicious. Seriously good food. The service was great. The ice tea superb. I have always loved Thai Vegan on Osuna Such great food and a really sweet owner.....Although the food is still great, the ambiance needs some fixing. Such as the pile of boxes in the hallway to the bathrooms and the woman's bathroom door with the clunky replacement lock......and the piles of stuff in the attached room which can be viewed from the sitting area.
