A great location right off of Mass Ave, that I walk by all the time. When we walked in we were greeted and told to sit wherever we liked. The restaurant is spacious and tables are spread out. To start, I believe my experience of this joint should be a 3.5 stars but unfortunately, half stars are not an option. We arrived on a cold night where the snow was still melting, in search of Asian food in downtown Indy. We love the Thai places back home so I figured it couldn't hurt to try one in a new place! To start, I ordered a cocktail while my partner ordered a beer. Upon taste, I could tell it was made with cheap liquor as it tasted like rubbing alcohol and the flavors did not pair well together. We also requested the calamari and spring rolls as appetizers. The calamari was honestly average and I felt that I could've gotten the same flavor from getting a frozen bag from the store and putting it in the air fryer. The spring rolls were not the freshly rolled ones we thought they'd be and tasted like the ones you get at a Chinese restaurant which are premade. To be clear, we did not order the spring rolls until after we put in the calamari and we asked the server if they had spring rolls which was not clarified to be egg rolls deep-fried. The spiciness of the dishes was apparent my our water cups constantly being empty and we ordered only a 3 on a 1-6 scale. There were huge chunks of vegetables that took over my Pad Kee Mao as well as tough, not very flavorful hunks of beef which brought down the good flavor of the noodles. The "sauce" on both noodle dishes could've been more as well as it was not flavored intensely. Thus, I took the risk of trying a new place that was not recommended to me and feel as though I over paid for what I got which was about $69 with tip. I'll just have to try again. read more

This was our first time ordering food from Thaitanium and it'll be our last. My husband brought the food in and it smelled like rotten trash! The "crab meat" looks like tuna and smelled so bad. I called the restaurant immediately and asked for a refund for the fried rice only. We also ordered pad Thai and spring rolls. A man got on the phone and said we had to bring the food back for a refund. I explained we live 30 minutes away and should not have to bring the food back. He said he wanted proof. I told him I'd send a picture but that wasn't good enough either. I informed him I would be writing a negative review and he said I should do what I need to do. This was my third time here and I love it every time! The staff is always so excited to see people enter and the food is spectacular! This is for sure my favorite Thai place in Indy. We ordered an appetizer for the first time and it was served quick and fresh. Our food came out quick too, I would say less than 15 minutes. When we were there, they only had two servers for the whole place and they were killin it. Some things to think about, it is on Mass Ave so parking was tricky (we went on a Saturday night so we didn't find a close spot) and after we arrived it got extremely busy. Wow Thaitanium was so incredibly good! My partner and I stopped by for dinner tonight during a quick trip to Indy. We love Thai cuisine and basically try Thai everywhere we go and this little place was so great! We sat at the bar and shared Spring rolls, Mussaman curry and Sweet and sour. To start, the service couldn't have been better. They were kind, helpful and so very nice! I ordered a beautiful bottle of Oregon Pinot noir to drink. I couldn't believe such a little place had such great wine. All do the food was so incredibly good. The Mussaman was a little sweeter than normal but I really liked it. We came to this Thai place for some lunch on the weekend. We ordered some appetizers and a large Tom yum soup. It's definitely shareable! The taste wasn't quite like what I was expecting compared to other soups I've had in the past. The dumplings were very dry and hard so I wouldn't recommend them. The crab Rangoon were good though! (Seriously, s/o to the server tonight for making my food so quickly even though this was MY mistake!!!!) This is the kinda restaurant you can dress up or dress down. What does that mean? Great location in the center of Mass Ave and close to the other bars. It was easy to get a table, even on a Saturday evening. The staff is friendly and provided good recommendations. Service was also quick, we had an appetizer at the table within 15 min of sitting down. The pork dumplings were delicious. Also really enjoyed the green curry with chicken. They offer 6 different spice levels and I had medium (3) which was spot on. I did notice they could improve on the drink availability as I tried to order 3 different ones but they said they were out. I've been here a few times and have enjoyed my meal every time. The flavor and food quality has been consistent and the decor is clean and sleek. I was shocked at how much i got for the lunch special and think it's a really good deal. If i lived closer, I'd probably order the lunch specials frequently. I told her I wasn't looking to eat, just wanted a drink and asked if I could sit at the bar. She told me no as it was closed, not sure if it was closed due to COVID or something else as they were closing at 10p, but she said she had a table for us. At this time, the worker confirmed we just wanted drinks because the kitchen had closed. She gave us the drink menu which had tasty cocktail selections that was hard for me to decide, so I asked for her advice. She said if I liked sweet, go with Thaitanium punch or pineapple dream. I went with Thaitanium punch. The drink was cute and right up my alley, sweet and yummy. My man loves moscato, so if it's on the menu that's the drink for him. This has been my favorite meal so far while in Indianapolis. Our Airbnb host recommended it and we wanted to check out Mass Ave. as well. Street parking is free after 8pm on Saturdays which was nice, Mass Ave. was packed but we found a spot down the street. We ordered the fresh rolls, with chicken, to start. It came with a peanut dipping sauce, which was fantastic, and also a clear-looking sweet chili type of sauce. I had the ginger dish, with chicken, which was very tasty, and my boyfriend got Pad Thai, with beef. We both really liked our dishes, and $11.99 for dinner is reasonable, too. I was sold by the clever name. Atmosphere: Located on the ever-popular Mass Ave, we'd driven by here lots of times and finally added it to our bucket list. Food: I have tried the Pad Thai with chicken and the Sweet and Sour entree with chicken. I loved both (there's not much Thai food that I don't like). The Pad Thai was yummy, but I preferred the Sweet and Sour dish. The sauce had a great, sweet taste and was stir-fried with baby corn, carrots, PINEAPPLE, and some other assorted veggies. I've found a new favorite Thai spot! While still on my quest to try various Thai spots around the city in preparation for my upcoming trip (and because I simply love Thai food), I heard of this new spot on Mass Ave. Upon walking in on a cold Saturday night, I was seated right away and started with drinks. I was going to try their Thai iced tea but noticed they had Singha beer (a Thai beer), so I happily ordered and was very pleased with the taste. I ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer and it was delicious with the sauce. For my main dish, I ordered my favorite yellow curry with chicken with a medium hot spice level and my boyfriend ordered the basil chicken rice dish with medium hot level. Once we got our food, we were impressed by the large portions and dug in. That medium hot is no joke! It was spicy, but still enjoyable. The curry was amazing - I could eat it daily. The person I was with enjoyed their basil chicken as well, but it was very spicy so he would probably go down a level next time. We had leftovers that made a great lunch the following day, which is always nice. Our server was great and even gave me a few tips for my upcoming trip. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. For about $9.00 I got a huge entree (I took half of it home), spring roll, and soup. Such a good deal!! I went for a very late (1:45pm) Friday lunch. I was the only person there and my food arrived about 5 minutes after I ordered it. Two other folks came in after me, and they also got their food quickly. The spring roll was probably the best I had. The soup was good, but Bangkok's is better. The pad Thai (mild) was definitely good. Service was solid. I've been here at least 20 times at this point and can honestly say it's a dependable staple. The location is right on Mass next to Mesh & usually has no wait times. The decor is pretty random but all seems to flow, for some reason the right side seems more intimate for dates and the left side seems more chill for platonic homies. The food is usually decent, I won't call it good unless I qualify that it's good by Indiana standards. The beef pad kee mao and beef pad see ew (wide noodles) are my go to dishes. The green curry is also dope, but sometimes they suck at making rice, although fried rice here is dope. Most of the appetizers are never worth it. The soups are all pretty decent just get them at a medium spice or hotter otherwise you're paying a lot for broth lol. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I used to really enjoy when it was newer but over past few years has transitioned to be more americanized in taste and lower in overall quality IMO. The portions are large, prices fair, but the food is hit or miss. Certain dishes such as the thai custard for dessert and chicken satay app are above average but the entrees seem to fall short for one reason or another (stir fries too saucy, larb/other salads way too sweet, Tom yum noodle soup not authentic thai style). It is not bad, just do not feel that the food quality measures up to where it could be and indy market has shifted. I always order a thai iced tea, because it is so delicious, refreshing and not something I would ever make at home. My husband and I usually split an appetizer and main or a main and dessert.
