I visited for lunch and of course sat at the bar. The restaurant was very quiet but i was excited to be able to watch Sportscenter in peace along with 3 other patrons. I opted for the lunch special and chose 2 rolls ( spicy salmon and California) along with a small salad with ginger dressing. Everything came out super quick and was super fresh. The server was a one-woman team but she managed us all very well. The restaurant is pretty small so I would try for lunch like I did! The menu had rolls of all kinds and prices were decent. My 1 small complaint, I ordered a glass of red wine that tasted like it has been uncorked for a month. Other than that, 1126 was fantastic! read more

After moving back to Ohio from California, one thing I had been craving was top notch sushi. I was blown away. I ordered Volcano Roll, The I-270 Roll, Sunshine Roll, American Dream Roll, Fire Roll, White Dragon Roll and all of those rolls were fantastic. The fish tasted fresh and the rolls that were spicy were just right the level of spicy. The rolls that were lightly fried, were fried perfectly. Most places over fry and it makes it super dry. I drove 2 hours to Columbus, and I will definitely do it again. 100% worth the trip. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good sushi place. read more

So happy to have a good sushi place in this area! The happy hour is incredible and every roll I've ever gotten has been fresh and delicious. I am hoping this place survives for a longggg time, which is why I do have some constructive criticism: 1. The menus are gross. They are paper tied together with twine and by now they are all stained and wrinkled. Not very appetizing. In a place where a sauce goes on everything, you need to have laminated menus. It's a non-negotiable. 2. The service is inconsistent. Multiple times we have waited quite a long time for someone to talk to us or to get our drinks, despite sitting at the bar and we have not been given plates or chop sticks on multiple occasions. It's never been that busy so I don't think that's an excuse for the slow service. Overall I will keep going back but I hope they can tighten up their act a little bit to take it to the next level. We booked a reservation at 1126 to celebrate a friend's birthday. When we arrived we were promptly seated but it was 20 minutes until a waitress came to take our drink orders. Another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive and TWO HOURS for our food to arrive. None of the orders arrived at the table together. The poor birthday girl's dinner was the very last be dropped off. The restaurant itself didn't have that many people in it. We could see to-go order after to-go order being taken past us. So it seems this restaurant has placed its focus on uber eats and could care less about the patrons that actually came to eat at the restaurant. The food was acceptable but nothing really good about it. I don't often review restaurants but this one did so terribly I felt it warranted a warning so people know this place is just going to eat up your time and it's totally not worth it. I can't go on enough about how much we love this restaurant. The customer service is phenomenal, the menu is large (both drinks and food), and the atlosphere and location are great! My only recommendation is definitely to call ahead. Even if they can't make a reservation at the time, if you tell them an idea of when you would like to eat they'll put your name down, call you when a table is ready, then hold it until you get there. We usually do this and hangout at standard hall until our table is ready. You really can't beat it! read more

I work in the Short North and decided to try this new sushi spot because I've been eager to find a place to frequent for my sushi cravings. I went on my lunch break for which I obviously have limited time. They open at 4:30 on this day and I arrived a bit early (4:20) so I waited outside, no problem. Then a woman who I got the impression was the manager flipped the closed sign around to say "Open." It was only 4:26 but since the sign was switched I assumed it was okay to enter. I went to the bar and told the woman I was on my lunch break and asked if they did carry out orders. Her response was "We actually don't open for 4 minutes." So I sat at the bar and waited. She handed me a menu and said "since you're getting carry out i'll make sure not to give you the specials" which is totally understandable but very poorly communicated. I already knew what I wanted to order from their online menu so I just sat and waited for 4:30 to roll around so I could place my order. Time went by and customers came in and were greeted and seated while I continued to wait. I was the first customer in the building, mind you. Eventually, at 4:35, the woman said "Oh its past 4:30 now, you can order." I ordered a couple sushi rolls, paid, and continued to wait. 30 minutes went by and finally the woman acknowledged me and said "Let me check on your order" and low and behold, 30 seconds later she comes walking out with my food. I worked in restaurants for 10 years so I am not oblivious to what poor customer service looks like. I not only was treated poorly on my 1st ever visit; but waited 30 minutes for 2 sushi rolls when my order was the first order they had taken. I didn't even have time to sit and eat it after I got back to work. Thankfully the sushi is above average but based on the service I received it would take some significant convincing for me to ever return to this restaurant and if the same woman was working I would likely turn back around and take my business elsewhere. Receipt says server name was Linley. The woman who assisted me was mid 40s or so and seemed to be the manager so I'm not sure if the name matches the person who assisted me. read more

First, I've been looking for a sushi place like this in the Short North and I don't know if I've just been missing all of them or if this is the first one but I'm so happy it's finally here! Affordable & high quality! The first time I came here, the sushi was perfect (Manhattan roll and salmon/avocado roll) but the second time, the rice on the same rolls was a bit hard/dry so it wasn't as good. Not sure if it was just an off day? Both days the wait for food after we placed our orders was about 45 mins so plan ahead, but the wait is worth it because the fish is good quality and the rolls are made very well. This is my boyfriend and I's favorite place for date night. Cocktails and food are amazing and we always have great service. The pacing is perfect for the food once we finish one item we shortly thereafter have the next. If you're going for dinner though make a reservation! It's a nice place that's in demand and if you're upset by the wait because you didn't make a reservation that's your fault. Watch out Aki Hana, there is definitely a new competitor in town! What was once the parlor room, now has transformed into the best sushi restaurant in the short north. Customer service is incredible, super friendly staff, and food came out so quickly. Definitely try the lobster tuna roll, it's a lobster salad mixture wrapped in tuna, topped with tobiko and edible gold flakes surrounded by an avocado cream sauce. My boyfriend and I then tried the spicy scallop roll, I 270 roll, volcano roll, and rainbow roll. We couldn't stop eating, it was absolutely delicious. The owner is very personable and welcoming. Hands down one of the greatest new surprise in the Short North, simply unpretentious but very New York style type of restaurant. This new gem is beautiful inside, with a great bar serving incredible signature drinks, best SUSHI in Columbus,Ohio. We came with 17 of us and they were able to give us a private area that was absolutely perfect for any large gatherings! The best part they are really reasonably priced. This spot has incredible sushi, good service, follows COVID safety procedures but what's with the loud mainstream music?

My girlfriend and I used to love this place. So friendly, so welcoming, and obviously incredibly delicious sushi. Unfortunately, this place has changed significantly. The staff were pushing us out of the door before we even sat down. After we were encouraged to leave we sat down and ordered an appetizer. Immediately after, we were asked to order our entrees before the appetizers came. That didn't bother us until we realized every time we ordered something the server checked their watch. When we asked about a sauce that we could get on the side and the chef laughed at us and said it was impossible because it was rare for customers to ask for it. We didn't get the sauce because we already felt like a nuisance and when our entrees arrived they were mediocre. Nothing like what we remembered. We used to bring our friends and families here when they visited the short north and unfortunately I don't think we will ever come here again. TL;DR - used to love the place. Now has become the most uncomfortable dining experience we've had in ages. read more
