This place was phenomenal. Seriously one the top restaurants I've been to while traveling. So first off, the service here was absolutely top notch. The waitress could not have been more personable. She checked in the right amount of time, seemed to enjoy being there, and was so sweet. The food portions were great compared to the price. We got a massive desert portion for what we felt like was a pittance. Lastly, even if you don't like, or don't think you like Mediterranean food, give it a try. I visited the Acropolis with a big group (26) on a Saturday night. We were seated at 3 separate round tables of 8-9 by the windows. I wish we were able to sit together but there just isn't room in a restaurant that size for a big party. We were given 2 waitresses who shared the 3 tables (I was a little confused by this because it would probably have made more sense for each table to have their own waitress). We tried a wide variety of the menu and were very impressed overall! The bread that they brought to the table to start was very good! We all ate way too much of it while we were waiting for our food to come. We then ordered the Saganaki (flaming greek cheese with lemon juice) which was so much fun! They bring a piece of cheese to the table and light it on fire right in front of you! I enjoyed the cheese but it was a little saltier than I would have liked. Most of the people at my table then ordered main dishes, which came with a salad of your choice. I ordered the salmon, while other people at my table ordered the salmon, fish and chips, an eggplant parmesan type dish, and a lemon pasta dish. All of the salads were brought out first. Most of the table got the greek salad and I got the southern pecan - these were small starter salads but had good flavor. Next came the main dishes. We all really enjoyed what we ordered! The salmon was served in this great butter sauce and melted in my mouth, the fish and chips were light and not overly fried, and the pasta and eggplant parmesan were both delicious as well. The prices were around $20, which was reasonable for the quality of food and the size of the dishes. After dinner we grabbed a babka cheesecake to go and OH MY GOSH it was amazing! It tasted like a mix between a pecan pie and a cheesecake, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! I highly recommend you trying the babka cheesecake when you visit! Beautiful inside, I haven't been here in awhile, but it has been remodeled since my last visit. Went for lunch on a Thursday and it was busy, but not too crowded. Our server was very prompt and accommodating! I ordered the ravioli la crema, it's my favorite and it was delicious as ever. They had a good lunch menu and I want to come back for dinner! Oh my god i love this place! The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere without that traditional gaudy medditeranean decor. Light and bright with white rock walls and white table cloths... All the while being REASONABLY PRICED. The food was so good i got some to go above my gift certificate. I had the greek anti pasta which had a little of a few different things. Moussaka was really good. I love greek cuisine and I've Had it all over the country. Spinach and cheese pies were yummy little deliciousness. I got a falafel pita but was too full after my sampler. Chicken rice AVRO LEMONO SOUP was to die for! One of the best I've ever had! Rice pudding yummy too... The dessert case looked amazing and they are all house made. I will be back again FROM ATLANTa! Fabulous service! Always. Best calamari light and airy breading. The Greek egg rolls are so delicious. The fish tacos were superior and the Reuben sandwich (My husband said was the best Reuben ever. Food was delicious. Waited 20 minutes for drinks because the server clearly forgot and tried to say, "oh they should be out soon." And then brought us two sweaty watery drinks that I'd been staring at sitting on the bar for at least 18 minutes. Server was polite enough... and food came out quickly. We each paid individually... which should not be a problem for any server in the year 2018. By the end of her taking our cards two of us had been charged twice for amounts that were different from what was on the bill. Luckily Push Notifications from your bank are a thing. The manager on duty was completely useless, didn't even apologize for the mixup... just said... oh it will come back. It's not a question of whether or not the charges will be credited back to my account... it's the 3 days that I will be out $80 because you are incapable of training your wait staff. If you're going to keep the register in the front... have your guests pay there. When the manager on duty and her wide open eyes and mouth (seriously... this woman was dumb as a bag of tongueless tennis shoes) couldn't fix the problem she called the condescending d-bag Manager or Owner... He decided that rather than telling me how he would fix the problem, he would attempt to explain to me how Temporary Bank Authorizations work. His response to his staff's inability to do something as simple as resolve a billing error was to insult the intelligence of the customer who they stole $80 from. I was raised to eat at The Epicurean. I will certainly never make the mistake I made last week. Never met a Greek who doesn't know how to pour a drink... you people need Gordon Ramsey and NEW MANAGEMENT. read more

My mother and father in law had reserved a table for lunch last Sunday, my husband and I were stuck in traffic but only 5 minutes away. The restaurant staff refused to allow my mother and father in law to sit at the already set up table that was reserved for us. The problem we have is that my 74 year old father in law is diabetic and his blood sugar was dropping. All he needed was to sit down (at the table that was already made for us) and a bite of bread... something. They refused to let him sit down- there are no seats in the waiting area. This is not the first time that we have had bad service here but that was the last straw. Train your staff better. Elderly, diabetic patrons should not be made to wait. We used to go to acropolis regularly and spend atleast $200 every time. Never again. read more

The Dining Divas went to lunch at The Acropolis Grill at Hamilton Place on Wednesday February 19th. There were 9 of us and we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is very pleasant and comfortable. Our servers, Darla and Braydon did an excellent job. They attended to our very need and even brought us complimentary bread and cinnamon butter. The manager/owner come to our table to inquire about our lunch. The food was delicious and the portions were tasty and large. It is a very good value for the price. There were no complaints as everyone rated the restaurant as high of score as possible. We gave The Acropolis Grill a 5 out of 5 rating. If you have not been or if it has been a while since you have been, we all agreed you owe it to yourself to go here and have a great meal. read more

Ordered curbside pickup for Mother's Day! Ordered at 0900 am! Was told food would be ready for pickup at 5pm. Had to wait 36 minutes before meals were brought out!! Thought we would support a local restaurant. Knew it would be busy due to holiday so ordered online at 8:30 in the morning. Husband went to pick up at 5 pm, waited 30 minutes. He got mixed grill- miniscule pieces of meat. He requested no asparagus- got asparagus. They forgot his salad. I got Greek sampler- a mess. Couldn't tell what was what. The food was cold. When he called me to say order wasn't ready I called the restaurant. I was told I would be transferred to someone else which never happened. Finally called and asked for the manager. Yes, times are difficult. You are a restaurant. If you can't handle delivering food to a multitude, then don't do it. If you are running late in orders notify people so they don't wait in your parking lot. Also, peanut butter pie was horrid- whipped cream on a chocolate crust and I threw it away. read more

Don't recommend. I had the Greek lemon chicken and the moment I bit into the chicken I immediately didn't like it. The chicken had a weird flavor to it and the pasta tasted so bland. My dad was not satisfied with his meal either. He said the beef was super mushy and had a very odd flavor to it. It tasted like a frozen meal from the grocery store. Had great expectations for this meal and while the food wasn't bad, it wasn't particularly great either. The best part of the meal were the dolmathes: tangy, warm and delicious. The Greek salad had tired lettuce, squished olives and a couple of token cheese cubes which honestly was a letdown. The lamb shank was very tender but didn't really taste like anything; I LOVE lamb shanks and it was sad that it didn't really stand out in any way. The risotto was sticky and gloppy which happens when it's left out too long. The waiter started out enthusiastic but seemed more interested in other tables/diners and as a result kept forgetting silverware, bread, etc. I've been a server and you can tell when someone's just not very interested in you as a customer. Great ambience and customer service. A little on the pricey side; especially for an American Greek restaurant. I ordered the Lemon Pesto Angel Hair Pasta and I wasn't impressed with it; but nor did I dislike it. It was just your typical pesto pasta dish with vegetables. The noodles were a little dry, and there wasn't as much vegetables as I hoped for on the dish. Overall, I didn't dislike Acropolis, however I didn't love it. Delicioussssss! Whenever I visit Chattanooga I tend to always stay in the Hamilton place area and Acropolis is def a must-visit while in town! Best fried pickles I've had to date.. perfectly matched with house made dipping sauce. I've enjoyed the veggie lemon pasta, and devoured the eggplant stack. I'm a vegetarian and both were superb! Always end my meal with a key lime pie slice even though I tend to eye down the strawberry cake! It looks soooo good but the key lime wins every time! Nice atmosphere for decent Greek Food in East Brainard. Food and drink prices are reasonable (spent $85 for three people; two starters, two soups, three entrees, three cocktails). Service was prompt and friendly. You must get the flaming cheese plate. It's fun to see and delicious. They have a bar to the side with sports on TV, but it's not intrusive into the main dining area. They charge good restaurant prices, but serve frozen food. I have went twice because we love Greek. Seriously, the mall food court Greek place is better over in Hamilton place a quarter of a mile away. Service is not bad, but both times we went, someone at our table got food that was not cold, but frozen in the middle. When we said something to the manager they guaranteed they did not serve frozen food. Then explain this...they could not. I also had a ton of floaters in my beer, which they blamed on cleaning the lines. It was gross. We don't go back to acropolis anymore, which is a shame because Greek food is so good. read more

Filthy plates, dirty silverware, sticky tables, the walls were cornered with food and smudges and the floor was also sticky. I kept asking myself what the kitchen must look like. I heard from a lot of people that it is a great place. But I wasn't impressed at all. Also, I couldn't even eat inside the restraunt because I have a service dog and they said dogs were allowed inside. So. It's illegal to deny service dogs access to public places. I just wanted to have a normal dinner with my family. My dog was out of the way and in a down stay under the table. Super disappointed with this place read more

Came in after a bunch of sales calls for a late lunch. I got the Gyro with chicken & rice soup with sweet tea. First of all the sweat tea was perfect. They gave us bread and honey butter when we sat down. The bread was amazing. It was soft and warm and the butter made it taste like a little slice of heaven. The soup was also a bit of perfection. Just the right amount of chicken and rice. Great flavor and the temperature that it was served at was right on. The Gyro was a very generous sandwich with a perfect side of sauce. The meat was very flavorful. Finally I have a price of baklava cheesecake. I don't know how to describe it. It was like the best price of cheese cake and the best baklava all in one bite. I haven't eaten at Acropolis in a long time. I went to eat with my husband, god kids and best friend. We were seated right away and they were accommodate our party which went up from 3ppl to 5ppl plus a baby. I got my favorite meal there, the grouper with Thai chili sauce. It was as delicious as I remembered. The Greek salad was bland today but the southern pecan salad was delicious. My husband got the gyro dinner plate. I thought it would be dry but it wasn't, it was really good. We had to get dessert of course. The strawberry cake was delicious. I love the sugar free and full sugar versions. My husband got the baklava cheesecake. He thinks they taste better separately. Our server started out ok but I guess it got busy and service went downhill fast. We had to ask about my God daughter's salad which finally came out after most of us finished ours and we had to ask multiple times our sides that came with the meal.
