They were awesome! We had to move some of our office furniture and we had this very long 15 feet conference table that would not fit in the elevator going down from 5th to 3rd floor. They made it worked and used the stairs and never gave up on it. I already called my manager to get a circular saw ready in case we need to dispose of it. But lo and behold the crew got it done! Props to Noe and his crew for never giving up! They also disposed some of the tables and fireproof cabinets that weighed a ton. They got it done as promised. read more

During a time that could have been extremely stressful, Crown made our move during the COVID-19 pandemic as smooth and stress-free as it could possibly be! They were in contact with us during the days leading up to our move, and letting us know what time we should expect them. They arrived on time and even called us to tell us they were on their way! Since this was during the pandemic, we did a video walk-through of our house to get an estimate, which was really nice and convenient! A couple weeks after our move, we even got a check in the mail since the estimate was more than what the actual weight was, so that was a very nice unexpected surprise! Our driver, Daniel, was fantastic! He was very personable and the crew that he brought was also very great! We felt very comfortable with our belongings, which is a hard thing to find! They were so thorough and padded all of our furniture so well! They worked hard and were very efficient, as it did not take very long for them to pack, dissemble, unpack and reassemble our belongings. They provided extra padding to our delicate items as well! I would highly recommend Crown, and ask if Daniel is available!! read more

If there was a way to give negative stars, I would! The experience started off pleasant enough. Joe came to our house and gave us a thorough estimate. We explained to Joe that we were moving from CA to TX and needed to have delivery by a set date, to which they agreed. (We will not be available after that date to receive shipment). The movers arrived on time , as scheduled and loaded up the truck. They were all professional and things went smoothly. We were given a contact in their support/logistics department and was told that we would get a confirmation on the ETA the next business day... Now jump forward a week. We are two days away from our promised delivery date and have still not received a call with the ETA. To make matters worse, our support/logistics person is ignoring our calls and emails and we are told she "had to leave early". We are also being told no body else is available to help. Our goods are still sitting in their warehouse in CA and have not even been scheduled for delivery! Given that Texas is a 3 day drive from California, it looks like we may never get them! DON'T BUY INTO THEIR SLICK SERVICE AHEAD OF THE MOVE WHEN THEY ARE TRYING TO WIN YOUR BUSINESS. Select somebody more reputable that will get your goods to you when promised! I don't understand how United can be the number one provider in the nation! UPDATE- it is now over 3 weeks and we finally received 1/2 of our possessions. The remainder are scheduled to arrive tomorrow (3.5 weeks after we left California). Everything has been so over handled (from truck to warehouse to truck to warehouse to truck...) that about 30% of the boxes are damaged. Fortunately only one thing is broken so far... To add insult to injury, they could not be bothered to coordinate the 2 shipments to make things somewhat usable. Instead, they sent us half of the parts to everything (bed frames without mattresses, chairs without the table)... I am amazed that this company can stay in business! I had never hired a mover before at all, let alone for a cross-country move. I originally hired a broker, based solely on reviews, before doing additional research and learning how fraught with fraud the industry is and the advice I read to get quotes from at least 3 different places was absolutely true. (Also part of the problem is how complex a cross-country move is, there's just no getting around it. There are many different ways it can be done and so many people involved. I also think reviewers online are too quick to cry "Scam!" when it was just a matter of screwing up.) So for my move from SF to Detroit, I had originally hired a smaller company with an unknown name, mistakenly looking for a good price. They were recommended by a very visible reviews site as best for budget moves and I think everyone else on the internet of course went straight to them as well. The previous place had a A+ BBB rating and decent reviews and checked all the boxes. Then my contact dropped off the map and when I looked them up again their rating had plummeted to an F. What happened? The pandemic of course. I picked the worst possible time ever to move -- not just the summer, but during a pandemic. Anyway, I'm guessing what happened is they lost employees because of illnesses and couldn't possibly keep up with all the demand. So, horrified and afraid I'd never see my belongings again, or at least intact, I cancelled and switched to another company, going with a recognizable name this time, United; and for the mover at the starting end went with Crown Worldwide. I got the estimate via video and Joe was very thorough and transparent walking me through, explaining everything clearly and even gave helpful tips for packing, especially for an awkward valuable item. He was very responsive when I called later with any questions. The movers themselves were careful with my belongings and even texted me photos of the containers after they packed them back at the warehouse. I had a concern about one thing and contacted Joe, who got it taken care of and they sent me a new photo with the awkward item re-packed. Finally at my destination, I've so far received everything intact!! I did all the packing of boxes and did an awesome job if I do say so (tip: use ENDLESS amounts of paper and packing material! Don't skimp on it!) but all the furniture and outsides of the boxes (and my precious awkward item, a bass guitar in a wardrobe box) are all completely fine! What a relief! This whole move was one of the most stressful things I've ever had to do. Thank you to Joe and Crown Worldwide for making it that much easier! read more

Updated to the comment below: Crown did in fact move us! Suddath was the Tampa franchise that you shipped our crates to and then they delivered the crates. As you can clearly see, that was The way Crown packed the crate. And all of the below comments were based on our Crown experience. Cynthia I find your comment to be another reason not to to business with Crown as you clearly are trying to push blame to company based in Tampa and not CA. Suddath was actually flabbergasted when they opened the crates that Crown packed and even comment about how awful it was done. So that said - all the below comments by me still apply to this rating. You weren't concerned about the experience when you moved us I hardly think you are concerned now. If I could give negative stars I would! My advice to all is stay away. We have moved several times and this was absolutely the WORST experience ever! We moved from San Ramon CA to Florida so it was a big move and we still got treated awful. See below - be very cautious and choose another company as these guys should be shut down. Issues: 1. Was promised a land truck so our furniture would not sit in storage and be moved several times. INSTEAD they showed up with a small truck that didn't even fit our furniture. 2. The driver was told they were just picking up mattresses at that all... so he came completely unprepared. 3. Was told they move pianos all the time, they ABSOLUTELY do not know how to move them. They broke our piano and laid it down on its belly! 4. We took the full insurance and not only did they fight us every step of way and did not give us the value for our broken items. It also took 4 months to get it somewhat resolved - we just gave up! 5. They broke tons of our furniture - piano, table and chairs, lights, playset, plasma tv, desk, bed, 2 pottery barn couches and more... 6. We moved on June 27th they did not get our furniture to us till July 20th. It sat in a storage facility and got destroyed. 7. There was no communication as they just started avoiding our calls once they were late with delivery. 8. They stated that they don't have to pay us the late delivery fee of $100 a day because they got partial shipment to us. That partial shipment didn't even have beds!! Really!!! 10. They destroyed our floors and walls moving the furniture in and out of the house. 11. They did wrap or protect anything - they just threw it in a truck. See pictures! 12. They lost our shipment- took them a week to even find it. 13. The movers were smoke pot during the move!! They kept going to the back of the truck and taking a hit. My neighbors complained it was so bad. 14. They were supposed to be done moving in 6 hours it took 3 days of this craziness because they were such a mess!! 15. I hired Crown to move EVERTHING not everything BUT the refrigerator....Please Read! I hired Crown to move us from Folsom, CA to Gilbert, AZ We sold our home and had to move into an apartment while our new home was being built in AZ. I had Crown quote our move 2 ways, 1. moving us into our apartment and then also into our home, and then 2. Just moving us from our apartment to AZ. That's the service we chose, just from the apartment to our home in AZ because of the cost. I had Crown out to our home in Folsom and Jorge, who has 20 years experience with Crown, saw the refrigerator (actually twice) and NEVER mentioned any possibility that there could be any problem in moving our refrigerator. And though the team did an excellent job in moving us when they were delivering our furniture the driver would not move our refrigerator into the house. He felt "uncomfortable" taking the dorrs off to get it through our front door. So Crown had a 3rd part contact us to move it in and it cost us and addition $230.00. Taking the doors of a refrigerator to move in or out of a house is NOT unusual. Best Buy did it to deliver the refrigerator, and the local moving company we hired to move us from our home to the apartment also took the doors off and reassemble with no problem. I contacted the main United office in Fenton, MO about this and they will do nothing about it. PLEASE have a discussion regarding this situation so you are not hit with a surpirse bill!! I truly can't imagine managing to move my entire company within 8 hours without the crew we had. They not only were quick and efficient but they made it less miserable. We recently moved from St. Louis to the Bay Area. The first part of our move was pretty severely botched by the company sending our things from St Louis (reviewed separately). Crown Worldwide handled our California delivery and did a very nice job: 1. The start of the move-in was a little rocky, apparently some people called in sick and we did not get started until mid-day (planned for a morning start). This is the reason for the 4 Star review (versus 5, which is "perfect" in my book). 2. However, they rebounded nicely sent our 4 great movers: Sieño, Joge, Rafael and Miguel. They were courteous, professional and efficient and did an exceptional job with the move into our apartment. Later in the day it became clear the move would be going into a second day and Melissa, the coordinator, sent out 2 more people to help. Ramon went the extra mile to help find parts to try to re-assmble our bed as parts box could not be located the first day. 3. The next day we moved the second shipment into a storage unit. The team maintained continuity with Sieño and Jorge, which was very smart as they were already familiar with our belongings. The team also included Joey and Carlos, both top-notch movers, courteous and competent. They were very careful to account for all our items, and also pointed out damaged items as things came off the truck. They ultimately found the parts box, hidden away in an unusual location by the St. Louis team, and they returned to our apartment to assemble the furniture. In summary, we had a very good moving experience with Crown and would recommend the company to our friends and family! read more

I heard good things about Crown from someone who had moved with them recently, so I contacted them for a quote. During the email exchange, VP of international moving confused us with another customer several times, forwarding me details on their move and sharing with them details on my move. Even after I asked to never mix customer emails, they still kept doing it. Yet we wanted to give them a chance, so we made an appointment for a site survey. No one showed up after I took the afternoon off from work. This was a result of another mix up with a customer. After we finally settled on a site survey, I emailed them a number of questions. Their response was again strange, just sending me a PDF of the list of items that they surveyed. I asked again about the questions, and no one responded. Summary: they are terrible at communicating and coordinating with customers. I wouldn't feel comfortable entrusting our personal belongings to them. read more

Avoid at all costs. Literally. Cons: - Approximately 1/4 of my possessions were lost in the move from San Francisco to Texas. When unloading, the movers didn't tell me I would need to inventory every box. It would be months before we realized how much was lost. - While unloading, we realized a large shelf was lost. The mover said we could buy a replacement and get reimbursed. We sent a receipt to Crown promptly and never got reimbursed despite about 10 emails to Alicia Rosas. - Joe Colburn is a snake oil salesman and flat out liar. After knowing I was packing all of my own belongings, Joe upsold me on expensive (~$500) insurance plan that wouldn't cover items I packed myself. When we claimed our lost/damaged items, nothing was covered. - Among a few other items, an iMac computer was destroyed in the move. It was labeled and marked very clearly, but when we put in a claim, we were told we were out of luck because the movers didn't pack it themselves. Pros: -Nothing. This was overpriced. We would've been better off hiring movers and renting a POD. read more

Had a good experience with Crown moving overall. The estimate was in line with the number of belongings I had (some competitor estimates I received seemed to over-estimate the number of belongings I had, possibly to 'be safe'). Movers day-of were communicative and respectful -- Joey M, Mario J and Enrique N. One point of improvement could be the communication of the coordinator. Her emails were rather sparse and not overly detailed and communication not really proactive. She didn't tell me until I wrote to her when my movers were arriving - this was less than 24 hours before I was due to have my things moved. On the other end, moving in, movers again were efficient and did the job. All in all, things went smoothly and for a reasonable/competitive price. read more

We have worked with Crown Worldwide for our moving from San Francisco to Paris. We first had a survey with Joe Colburn who was very professional and very responsive even during the week-end. The quote we received was one of the best among five competitors. All our requests have been fulfilled: special styrofoam boxes for the wine bottles, wood crates for the artwork, container loading at origin and no shuttle... Our moving team: Efrain Garcia, Jecson and Fausto were very nice, efficient, and professional. They did a great job at packing our 2500cu ft and left our house very clean. The whole job was done in 3 days. Jennie Peterson, the moving coordinator was also very helpful with all the technical and practical details. Communication was very easy and she manage to have some extra crates done overnight. After filling the 40HC container, we were hoping to have the container sealed on site in front of our house, but the crew was missing the seal.... So I call Jennie and she told me the container will be sealed upon arrival at the warehouse the same day. She even sent me some pictures of the sealed container. Now we have to wait for the unpacking in Paris in 6-8 weeks..... We also choose Crown because they work with Grospiron Moving in Paris, a company we already used and liked. read more

I wish so much that I could leave a glowing "they handled my claim like a champ" review, but, unfortunately I cannot. In fact, I would now drop Crown's rating to a zero if that was an option here. After much correspondence with Crown's risk management manager, Larry Richter, we have ultimately been told that we cannot prove our missing items were ever packed or stolen by Crown personnel and that Crown, therefore, is not responsible for them. He explained that the items were not numbered on the packing inventory sheet and so cannot be claimed. Never mind that: - the only items that were numbered were large pieces (dressers, sofas, etc) and that none of the wall art, home decor, kitchenware etc was numbered, (certainly had we known that only numbered items would be covered we would have made sure all five million items were numbered!) - that the Crown estimator admitted the packers should not have been emptying dresser drawers where the jewelry boxes were (and were all the clothing pieces listed on the inventory sheet?!), or - that we paid for the most comprehensive insurance they offered... Nope! According to Mr.Richter, "you cannot prove [it]!" Consumers beware! As has been noted by others here, this organization lacks integrity from the top to the bottom! We moved out of our home into temporary housing and a majority of our items were placed in storage. After 2 months we completed the last leg of the move back into our new home. Both moves the movers brought too small of a truck which wasted hours of playing physical tetris with our furniture and boxes to get them to fit as much as they could in the small truck. Once we completed the final move our carpets were soiled (they had nothing to protect the carpets and stairs) broken dining chairs, desks, coffee tables and more. It took us over 5 months of going back and forth and working with their claims adjuster to get our money back from the damaged furniture. It was very unfortunate that John Falconi and Cece Guajardo couldn't resolve these issues more quickly and neither of them took ownership of all the mishaps. They are all very good at pointing the fingers at one another. We were hopeful that when all of this occurred with the first move that it was a fluke. Unfortunately the 2nd move was worse and definitely not a fluke. In the end we were finally reimbursed for the damage but never repaid for the days and hours we've lost calling, meeting and emailing to get the claim resolved. Will never use Crown again. read more

Like many others here if I could give negative stars I would! Crown was hired to move our furniture into storage and then deliver it out of storage when we found a new home. They picked everything up in August 2020 and moved it into storage. In this process they left a rug and chandelier in the gutter that was supposed to go into storage and we had to call them to come back the next day to pick it up. When they delivered the stored items on March 31, 2021 they allowed an ex-employee onto our property. All of the furniture delivered had some type of damage or missing pieces. Not one piece of furniture escaped damage. Swing set and trampoline had missing pieces and could not be used as a result. 35 boxes were missing that they said unless I know exactly what was in them I'm out of luck. Initial claim was put in on April 1, 2021. Thirty days later nothing had happened and it was turned over to another claims adjuster on May 3, 2021. Both times they sent someone out to review the same damaged items. Today is July 25, 2021 and we still have not reached a settlement. I have $96K of damaged furniture, for which I paid for FULL REPLACEMENT value. They offered a lousy $38K, which doesn't cover the damages (some items I can't even replace). They have been the rudest and most unprofessional people I've ever encountered - from the CEO to the movers - terrible customer service. DO NOT use them under any circumstances - they are awful. Recently moved to SF from the east coast and i was so happy with the services from Crown moving me into a rental apartment, that i specifically went back to them for the move into my first home just 6 months later. Carlos / Mario / Joseph were consummate professionals especially during these difficult times of COVID. They were meticulous, careful, polite, and made every effort to prevent any damage to the apartment i was moving out of, my possessions, and most importantly my new home. For example they laid down cardboard to protect my floors and wrapped protected everything appropriately. If you have the chance to hire this team, do it. I didn't even price shop bc if you look at one of my earlier reviews, i have had some bad experiences and its not worth the 10-15% you might save to deal with the nonsense. WORST moving experience EVER- we used Crown Moving/United Van Lines. We were moving from a five bedroom home in SF across the country. The sales guy, Joe Colburn, estimated the weight of all our belongings and came in a couple thousand dollars under the other movers so we hired Crown Movers- big mistake. The day of our move (which was supposed to take only 1 day) they sent only a few moving guys. The guys were friendly and polite, but weren't wearing COVID masks and we had to keep asking them to put them on and they were moving at a slow pace compared to other movers we've used. We kept asking Crown Movers to send more guys and finally they sent a couple more guys at around 6pm. Halfway through the day Joe Colburn called to say he'd underestimated the weight and they would need to charge us an additional $3 to $4K- huh? Classic bait and switch- we should have hired one of the other moving companies like Allied Van Lines. At 11pm the movers still weren't finished but said they had to leave- we gave a large cash tip because we felt bad that the guys worked all day. They said they would send a full crew early in the morning to finish up quickly. The next morning (day #2 of the move) at around 10:30am TWO guys from Crown showed up. Mario and his co-worker worked hard all day while we kept calling Crown and asking them to send more people to help. Finally at around 7pm a couple more guys showed up and they worked until 11:30pm for a second day. We gave another large cash tip. Finally after TWO DAYS we had everything moved out. Thought that was the end of the nightmare, but when our stuff arrived at our new house and we started unpacking things it was a disaster- they had taken apart beds and many parts were either missing or thrown into random boxes. Also electronic items were packed with liquids, things were randomly thrown into boxes. Lots of scratches on our furniture and damage to our breakables and scratches on picture frames that were not even wrapped up. Also the guys who packed up threw random stuff in the boxes, like loose cardboard pieces and used rolls of tape. The crew of movers who moved us in to the new house were still unloading at 11pm and our kids had to go to sleep so we just told them to bring everything inside and we'd move it to the proper rooms ourselves- still, we gave them another large cash tip. Overall, it was a disastrous moving experience and I would not wish this on anyone else. You are better off hiring another company- don't use Crown Moving and United Van Lines. TERRIBLE! read more

If you have absolutely zero time pressure, endless patience, and plenty of money, Crown could be a good choice for you for your cross-country move. I had time pressure on both ends (moving out of and into elevator buildings with a short window of usage for the freight elevators); I was changing jobs, halfway across the country; and I only had a one-bedroom apartment to move. So, I knew going into this move that I had some complications and I would need to make some compromises. I realized that I was not going to fill up a semi, so my little move would be combined with others, to get a full load. I got three bids and I didn't choose the cheapest bid, because I wanted to work with someone with decent ratings and a local mover who would presumably know about road restrictions in and around Oakland. My husband and I have moved from Tennessee to Ohio to Connecticut to Illinois, to North Carolina, to Texas, and then to California. So we know how to pack, and what is entailed in a cross-country move. We packed our own stuff. We provided Crown's estimator with a detailed list of our furniture items and updated him with a revised box count, several days in advance of loading. At every step of the process I reminded each person that our window of time for the move was on this date, at this time, and that we were in an elevator building. No problem, they said. We do this all the time, they said. The moving day comes and I am 100% packed with the items I was planning to take myself on the plane, segregated into a closet so there would be no confusion about what was going on the truck. I had been told that the movers would arrive between 8 and 10 am; I had reminded the move coordinator that our window to use the elevator was from 9 until noon. Around 9, the driver called to tell me he was delayed but should be there by 10:30. I reminded him that we had to be done by noon. He said no problem, he had a big crew. The driver arrived at 11:10, without any crew. He said the crew was right behind him. Then he said they got lost, but would be there soon. The crew arrived at 11:40 and consisted of two men and two women. I have nothing against women working any jobs they can do, but these women appeared to be older than I am (I'm 56), so I was worried about how much they were going to be able to lift. I helped the crew out as much as I could by helping to put the stickers on the boxes, helping them shift small items, and provided a steady supply of water bottles. They worked hard, but they were not physically capable of moving very quickly. Noon came and went (obviously) and the move coordinator for the building kept checking on us and reminding us that he had another party planning to use the elevator from 1:00 until 4:00. No problem, our driver said, we'd be done soon (wrong). The second moving crew arrived and we were sharing the elevator with them (they needed it going up, we needed it going down). The second movers were finished around 3:30, at which point my crew was just deciding to disassemble an Ikea daybed. They finally took the last load out at 4:45 after dropping a tall bookcase with glass doors, against a living room wall and making a dent in the drywall. Fortunately, no one was hurt. I had been told to expect delivery in Texas between 5 and 17 days after loading in California, and that I would get an updated delivery schedule several days after loading. I was also shipping my car with them, on a separate vehicle transport; they said it would likely arrive sooner. Okay, fine--I made plans to get to the destination, and to camp out for a few days in the new apartment, without my stuff. Then I waited. The furniture was delivered on the 11th day, so within the window, and the delivery driver (his shirt logo said Buehler as the company name) did arrive timely for the delivery, and got it done within the time slot for this building. However, the delivery driver told me he could not reassemble the daybed, as it would take too long. He told me to call the move coordinator at Crown, and that she should be able to assign a third party to do that (I'm assuming Taskrabbit). Of course, he had left before she returned my call, and she told me he should have done it and she couldn't pay for that. My furniture and boxes were loaded and unloaded off of smaller, rented vans; I never saw the semi they traveled on across the Rockies. So the stuff was reloaded a couple of times, which is never great. Several of my boxes were absolutely trashed in the process, but so far nothing has been broken (I'm not completely unpacked yet). Still waiting on the car at this point though, and had not received any update on its status. When I asked, I was told "I'll check on that." Crown was contracted by another moving service for origin packing during my most recent move. Let's just say this was a bad experience all around and I'm sure not indicative of Crown in general, but I will avoid using this company in the future if the chance arises. To summarize the set of problems: 1. They showed up over 5 hours late. 2. The van that showed up did not have any paperwork related to my move. 3. The guys doing the pack and load did not even know my name. 4. While they did a pretty good job at packing my personal affects, one item in particular - a piece of furniture -- they only wrapped in moving paper secured with tape, then proceeded to to bang it against the walls and doors when it was being moved out of the apartment. read more

We moved from France and our French Moving Company Biard uses Crown as their California agents. After spending 2 months in their storage facility the items arrived last Tuesday. We are missing 26 cartons. I had to go to the store to buy sheets, 4 dishes to eat from, 2pots, glasses etc. I started calling Wednesday to say there was a big problem with no response. I even left a message on the emergency number since it was a holiday weekend......only response was to file a form and the French Company would have to deal with it. My husband was on site when the container arrived at Crown storage and they opened the container (he witnessed the seal being broken) and everything that was put in the container arrived exact state as when container was sealed. Crown is more interested in using insurance than finding our thngs. Many items are family heirlooms and cannot be replaced! BEWARE!! read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Don't touch Crown Moving and Storage, or United Van Lines or any affiliate. It seems the military is more important than the commoner. We used Crown for a move middle of July. We thoroughly researched all moving companies and we liked the fact that Crown did a video walk through of your home and they were aligend with a large carrier. They came in at a MUCH higher rate than most other brokers, but with the expectation that the quoted 7-10 days for a move from Sacramento to Georgia would be no problem. When the packers showed up on Monday, there were only two guys to pack a 5100 ft2 home. By the time the moving truck showed up on Wednesday, 14th of July, the packing was still not completed and we were down to one packer at that point. The garage had not been touched. They proceed to start loading the goods and of course it didn't all fit into one truck. Not a problem we thought. It had our beds, pots and pans and dishes. We could make do! Boy were we wrong! About Crown and United Van Lines and everything that was promised! We jumped in our vehicles Friday and drove to Augusta, GA in 4 days, expecting the moving truck to show up in Georgia the following week. Well we are now 15 days post goods pick-up and still, no goods. I called the local United Van Line agent in Augusta and they said the goods are scheduled for unpacking on the 10th of August! Also, we were told that the goods, including a grand piano and guitars, was sitting in 110F Reno for a week. Now apparently it is going to sit in 85% humid Augusta for another 2 weeks. Had we know we would receive such shoddy service we would have gone with a much less expensive moving broker. At least you know what to expect. Our move was completely misrepresented and frankly the entire industry needs a revamp. A $1,000/day penalty for not delivering goods on time should be the standard penalty. I bet goods would show up when promised. Don't waste your money on these fancy pants moving companies. They are a waste of time. Use the less expensive brokers and expect your goods in 3-4 weeks from pick-up. read more

We had a positive experience and are happy with our decision to trust Crown/United Van Lines/Lint with our move. The estimate and scheduling process was easy and efficient, thanks to John Falconi and Alicia Rosas. The crews arrived on time for loading and delivery and were careful with our belongings. The driver (Scott Daly) was professional and had good communication throughout, which we really appreciated. All of our items arrived in good condition, including the piano, and within the agreed date range. (On the first date of the range, which was even better.) I used Crown for a one bedroom move from San Francisco to Denver and was very very happy with how quickly and efficiently they got everything together and moved into the truck! Chuck and Kevin managed expectations throughout the whole packing process and were extremely helpful when my building neglected to put up moving padding in the elevator. My job is relocating me from CA to AL. The crew from Crown showed up promptly at 8AM on the appointed day and immediately got to work. To say we have a lot of "stuff" is putting it lightly. We have a 4 bd, 3BA home, that is packed to the gills with stuff. In 6 hours a 5 man crew managed to fully pack up our house, with the exception of the master and den per our request. We needed help packing up and storing part of our household so that we could put the house on the market. Crown's team did a wonderful job with estimating (thank you, Joe Colburn), scheduling, and performing this task. They came one day to pack and the following day to remove the boxes and selected furniture to storage. Both days Alicia called to confirm their arrival time and followed up twice during the day to see how the work was going and if we had questions. The team was patient and helpful as we made some last minute decisions on what to store, and helped with moving remaining furniture to new places in our home. The bottom line is that in my experience Crown Worldwide provides absolutely amazing service. I was supposed to be moved from one part of Stanford University's campus to another part a couple of weeks ago. Despite claiming that they would do the whole move, Stanford's own moving services informed me right in the middle of the move that they would only be moving books and furniture and none of our other personal items. As you can imagine I was rather distressed. I called Crown Worldwide at about 5:30 in the evening when the Stanford movers informed me that they were stopping. I called Crown because one of their management team, Rick Hosea, had done an excellent job arranging a move for me 5 years ago and had sent a very professional team to do the job then. I told Rick my rather desparate situation of being half moved and within an hour and a half Crown had a moving team at my place (Rick drove personally to meet the truck to make sure they would have the paperwork etc.). The team's packing was incredibly efficient and careful. They did a very impressive job and were polite, friendly and courteous throughout despite the fact that they were having to work late into the night. The packing was eventually finished in the early hours of the morning. The move too was very well handled. The floors were carefully protected. They were very attentive and made sure that boxes, etc. were placed where we wanted them. (How they got the elliptical machine through the requisite doors still amazes me--surely some law of physics got violated on the way!) The work was eventually done at 3 in the morning and the team remained polite, friendly, and efficient through the entire process. Simply amazing. As I told Crown, their team did an absolutely superb job and I would be happy to be used as a reference. I don't want to leave my phone number here on Yelp but I've told Crown that they should feel free to give my phone number out to their customers if anyone needs a reference--that's how good I think they are. read more
