A friend and I were staying in the area and after a quick review of the local restaurants we selected The Aviary and boy were we happy with our choice! From the moment we walked in were greeted with such hospitality. The restaurant is beautiful, but the gardens and outdoor seating were amazing and they had heaters above every table-perfect for fall in New England. The appetizer, drinks, food, and dessert were all outstanding!!! Additionally, I am gluten free and the server was very knowledgeable about what options in the menu were safe for me. This place is worth a visit and we just wish it was closer to home!

Great experience with lifelong friends visiting from Sweden. We were informed by our excellent waitress Linda? That they have a new chef, new menu, farm to table using the best/freshest ingredients possible. They delivered, excellent meals that were delivered with an inspiring look and great taste. We wish we lived closer. We will be back!! We were fortunate enough to eat outside in their beautiful garden area.

I haven't been here in a while and nothing really excited me on the main menu so I ended up ordering two appetizers and they were SO good. I got a bowl of clam chowder and the mini crab cakes. The chowder was very yummy but kind of had a lot of potatoes in it (more than I would usually like) but other than that tasted delish. The crab cakes although small were so filling and tasted amazing. Whatever that little mixture is on top really made the whole dish.

We enjoyed a beautiful birthday meal by the fireplace. It was so beautifully welcoming, perfect for a date night. We shared crab cakes which were good but not as good our main course. My husband had the seabass and I devoured a filet with brandy cream sauce, loaded mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was cooked perfectly and the portions were perfect to leave you with a little room for dessert. He had the vanilla bean creme brulee and I had the layered chocolate cake. And while I thoroughly enjoyed it, my husband tried both and said I should have ordered what he had. But only after he had eaten it! Lol. Wil definitely be back!

    Scallops and Risotto

The Scallops with Corn Risotto was incredible. The scallops were cooked perfectly, with a very nice amount of caramelization. The corn flavoring of the risotto was addictive. We sat outside during sunset, and it was very beautiful.

Had a late dinner at the Aviary tonight ( Wednesday 7:30pm). So glad I decided to treat myself after a long and difficult day. Our server Lori could not have been nicer and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We were presented with warm fresh rolls and butter, so a good start. We split the crab cake appetizer which consisted of two large crab cakes, and the spinach salad that the kitchen kindly divided into two portions. The portions are ample and delicious. The atmosphere near the bar was quiet and subdued, which is exactly what we needed. We look forward to returning when in the area again. Well done Aviary and thanks again for your hospitality. We were excited to eat, so no food photos lol. Before our meal appeared, I did snap a shot of the cool chandelier near the bar.

    cod fish dish

The food was amazing! I had the cod dish and my husband had a chicken dish. We both loved it! The chowder was excellent! Really hot and so tasty! Not too creamy. Just right! The bread basket was delicious! That is an xtra charge but so...... worth it! The server was excellent and the ambiance is awesome...

The menu & reviews looked promising. I'm glad we had reservations, as they were packed on a Saturday night. I was pleased that we were seated within 5 minutes. I was also pleased that their huge booth fit 4 of us comfortably & they were happy to add a chair at the end for our 5th guest. A basket of warm rolls was immediately placed on our table. The large menu had something for everyone in every price range. We started with drinks, all of which were good. My companion & I shared a bottle of Clean Slate Riesling ($33) which we enjoyed. She & I both ordered the baked sea scallop special, which came with 2 dinner sides for $24.99. The scallops were delicious but I would have been happier if my baked potato & steamed broccoli had been cooked just a few minutes longer. They were edible, just not quite as soft as I prefer. Our friends enjoyed their meals... citrus swordfish (also one of the specials), French onion soup & salad, and a chicken salad sandwich. My companion & I shared a piece of lemon meringue pie for dessert, which was good. It wasn't as big a serving as at some restaurants, but it was enough. I have no idea of the cost as prices are not listed on the dessert menu, a practice I dislike. I also didn't like the fact that I asked for a fork as I don't like eating cake or pie with a spoon & was told I couldn't have one as they were all needed. Our friends enjoyed their peanut butter pie & coconut cake. Our server was adequate. We had to chase her down to ask for water, lemon, etc. I understand she was very busy but a smile would have been nice. I do appreciate the fact that we were not rushed out, and we were allowed plenty of time to catch up with our friends. Also, the hostess was gracious enough to take a photo of our group as we were leaving the restaurant. This restaurant used to be the Country Inn on Market Street in Warren. They have a decent sized parking lot, although it seemed barely sufficient for the amount of volume they do. I would rate this restaurant a 3.5 if I had that option. Will I return? Probably not.

Everything came out hot fresh or cold and fresh. He ate the whole thing which is like amazing cause he had ever finishes wherever we get someplace else I got the clam cakes and white chowder. It was very good. The chat was nice and thick just like I like it. The clam picks were big as you can see from the pictures. I only got three, but I couldn't even finish the three that I had. And that was $12. We ended up being able to sit beside the river and you watched it was beautifully cooling and nice breeze was coming by. It was very peaceful and it made for a good dinner ride from a motorcycle group. They close at 8 o'clock. We got there about seven had no problem being served. Like I said the people that they had super friendly after we came in and we knew they were closing at eight still three more cars came in you know and still they saved wide open and served everybody. The last time we went, we somehow got in line before about 40 people lined up behind us. I like how they've updated the line and put a cover over it with QR code menus. The long line is generally for all of the regular food on the menu or that you can go to the quick pick up line and order things like chowder, stuffed quahogs and chowder. Also beer and wine. I don't think that people know that they can go to that other window! My wife got the fish sandwich and it was cooked perfectly. Their french fries are really great, they always have been. I got the lobster roll and as always, it was great. They have a larger one, but I don't think I could finish that after trying to eat the largest lobster roll in the world. That gave me perspective. They have a daily menu, and I've had some friends suggest this place as their favorite restaurant. We parked blocks away due to the lack of adequate parking. Once we walked in, we were greeted with pleasant smiles from the staff. The menu was short, which we attributed to a focus on quality. We ordered a French onion dip and a littleneck entree as an app for the table. We were served with lukewarm water, neither cold nor hot. The apostle John might have been somewhat disappointed (Rev 3:16). The dip was decent but was somewhat lacking in great onion flavor. But nothing to complain about. The little necks were served in a small bowl and lacked a bit of salt. Rather pricey for $26, but this place charges $6 just for bread and butter, so maybe it's just inflation? Enter the entrees. They apparently were short on chicken legs so they asked to substitute chicken breast. Two of us got burgers. First the $20 burgers, which were served with an aioli with no offer of ketchup or other condiments. In short, both burgers were terrible. Far worse than we make at home. It's always a disappointment when you realize you're paying all this extra for food you can make better at home. The buns were shockingly flat, like someone smashed them by hand. Or in a McDonald's box. Come to think of it, the flavor was similar, though overall the hamburger was somewhat bitter, salty and lacked an appetizing flavor. Wow. We all agreed they were terrible. The fries were also burnt and over salted. My daughter quit on her $30 chicken, so I tried it. The sauce wasn't bad, and it was served with a decent brocollini. But the chicken was some of the driest I've had in a restaurant, with no crisp skin and a uniformly poor texture. No wonder no one finished their entrees. And I hate wasting food. So, as much as we would have wanted to give this place a great rating, we just won't be back. The service, although with a smile, was slow and terrible. Our candle burnt out in the middle of dinner. It was never relit. Our glasses were empty halfway through dinner. No refills on the tepid water. The entrees took an hour and a half before they came out (we were warned the chicken could take 30 min). Generally a very disappointing experience. Hard to explain the rave reviews but our Saturday dinner was a sad bust. The cold wet madeleines they provided in a doggie bag didn't do anything to help. Oh well. Hope y'all have a better experience if you go here.

We were having a lovely dinner in Warren and stopped into Bywater for a quick after-dinner drink. It was a bit cooler out but since they had no seats in the extremely limited bar area, we took the plunge and sat outside near their fire pits. They did not have many wines to choose from BTG which was disappointing. The one I had which was Cinsault was just ok. I had to dump out most of it since I did not enjoy it but that was my fault since sampling it I thought I liked it. My friend had the bartender make her a cocktail with grapefruit since they did not have pineapple. She was looking for a French martini but seemed to enjoy what they made her. My husband's espresso martini was very good I thought and light but could've used some bailey's. We already had dessert so we did not plan on anything else but I know I am interested in returning for dinner. The restaurant is very small inside but I loved the warm lights and decor. It was a very sexy and attractive vibe! If you are ever in Warren I highly recommend coming here for either drinks, dinner, or both. Dress warm if you plan on heading outside to sit near the fire...it does not give off that much heat! Cheers!
