Our family participated in the axe throwing and found it a lot of fun. I would suggest you don't do over half an hour for six or less. It's a lot of throwing. We booked it for an hour and found it too long. It's a very clean environment and the employees are helpful and kind. We would probably do it again. Rates it four stars bc we asked if we could exchange a half hour of axe throwing for the batting cages and we couldn't do it without another $30+ charge. No one was there so it could have been easily swapped out but alas .... Not. Oh well

Such a great experience! Enjoyed all the games, the staff and the vibe! I will definitely recommend this place to my friend and family.

No food just snacks and drinks Service self serves but need reservations to get in. Waiver is required before the game . It's pretty full but enough space. It is located in warehouse. Has limited parking . The light outside was not enough kids dark. It's a good place for a new hobby. Just scary

Axe throwing is underrated. Nothing like launching a steel Blade into a 2x4 for stress relief & friendly competition. The venue is what you would imagine it looks like: a metal hanger, concrete flooring, cool decor, cages & wooden targets. They use a projector system to provide a variety of games including tic-tac-toe, zombie head hunter & a classic bulls-eye target. The atmosphere is friendly. The folks who work there are happy to give you pointers on how perform better. Axe throwing itself is $25ish, knife throwing is an additional $5. You have the choice of hatchets & longer tomahawks. It's one of my favorite activities to do, especially in the winter months. Definitely worth a try.

My son and I got to experience the Rage Room at Axe Lair. It was a great way to blow off some steam before his school year starts. Jaden was a gracious host and explained all rules and tips clearly. We both chose 15 items to demolish. It helped that there were fans in there, too. We played some shuffle board, connect four, and some pinball when we were done. We'll definitely be coming back. Thanks again, friends. Rage on!

Book in advance if you want to do more than an hour session/ combo. I tried booking day of online and they didn't have spots available, I called and they said they had plenty of 1 hr sessions of both axe throwing and knives, I found it silly that they couldn't accommodate both. They seem relatively new and still figuring things out. I got there a half hour early and they allowed us to start our hour early, which worked out for our diner reservations after. They mention that alcohol would be available in the next coming weeks or so but I'd be happy without it in this place Great fun place to let some steam off and assortment of games to play on the targets.

different lanes (they have stuff to do while you wait for your lane like corn hold and jenga etc)

Fun Family activity; we bought a package for 8 ppl so 2 lanes next to each other. we absolutely had a blast. when we got there, we had a little bit of a wait. We didn't know about the waiver beforehand so we had to rush to do it. They gave you a quick instruction and demonstration how to do it. We were a group of eight. My parents being over 50 and, my siblings and others were in our 20s. We had fun there are different games that you can play with it. So yeah multiple options on how to play. We really enjoyed the duck hunt. Only thing is it took us almost half the time just trying to get the ax to stick. And we probably just needed a new piece of wood, it wouldn't stick. and we changed axes multiple times! but had fun and would come again

Been coming year for over a year. This place is so fun, a perfect chill date for the competitive couples out there! The upgraded interactive projections add such a fun and unique twist to axe throwing. The workers are always helpful and make sure we're taken care of. Axes, beers and fun!

Ask the Community - The Axe Lair

Wanted to take my husband here Wednesday with our 11 and 6 year old. Are they able to participate or is there anything for them to do?

Hello! Children 10+ can throw at our Upland location. Other little ones are welcome to hang out, we have a big connect 4 and janga, but not too many activities outside of that.

How many people is it to a stall? Can someone come to just observe, not play?

Depending on the busyness, 4-5 people can fit into a stall. And yes! Spectators are welcome.

Hello. I have a 7 month old. Would I be able to bring him with me into your establishment?

    Yes not a problem

Is this outside or inside, and also does it have a/c?

It is Inside and it is NOT air conditioned!

Is there an age limit on kids throwing axes?

    10+

    Do you serve food?

They serve drinks and you are encouraged to bring in food from somewhere else or have it delivered. We had pizza delivered.

Do we have to make reservations?

Reservations are always recommended but walkins are also accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Can we bring our own drinks?

Hello Tony, we sale soft drinks. As for alcoholic drinks, they’re not allowed in the facility as of now.

    Are there drinks served?

Hello Steven, at the moment only soft drinks but we are walking distance to Rescue Brewery

Thank the Lord we were only a few doors down, we never would have made it in our heels. My reservation that I made changed 3 times, only to add more people to our reservation that same day. Never once did they complain or state that they could not accommodate us. Once we all trickled in, it was about 18 people. Our tables were ready. I believe our waitress name was Jude, but nonetheless, she definitely was a jewel. She informed us that they were short staff, but she would take our orders. She accommodated every single one of us, never messing up or mixing up the orders, when ask for extras, she got them out immediately and to add to all of this the food was excellent. If you ever get a chance to stop by Studio Four29 I highly recommend it, not just for the food, but also the service. Bravo to our waitress she was on point. As an avid beer drinker, Rescue Brewery is one of my go-to breweries in the area. It is always clean, has friendly staff, and has great brews and food! Before sitting down, you're supposed to order your beers with the nice beertenders at the front. I usually get the Haze Against The Machine. They also have a good menu and a happy hour! I had ordered their garlic fries and their poke nachos. The beertenders gives you a number, then you can display it at the table of your choice. The atmosphere inside is nice' they have cute string lights placed all around. They're also usually playing modern music or country. It does get a bit loud in there dependent on how many people are inside. Their garlic fries are very crispy and have garlic pieces sprinkled on top. The sauce it comes with is addicting. My favorite is definitely their poke nachos! It has an abundant amount of tuna sprinkled over it with jalapeños, pickled onions, pickled radishes, and their delicious sauce. Their wonton chips are very crunchy, too! I washed it down with my IPA that was super hazy and crisp. I've been here a few times, but forget to check in/do a review. I didn't forget this time! They're always consistent in every aspect, so brewery hoppers, you need to put this on your list!

Good ole' Yelp suggested this place (because our hearts can use some rescuing.) Found parking nearby. (Special note: we had to walk by a center gazebo of some sort that is sitting in the middle of the street. It was empty and seemed out of place because at the time, it was playing Christmas music and it wasn't Christmas.) But I digress... Place is modern industrial but chill and casual. It looked like a popular watering hole with the neighbors as it was full for a Thursday early afternoon. We found a spot near the huge window to feel some fresh air. At the time, the bar was ran by a crew of women and they were so cool. My bartender allowed me to try some samples on tap. You also get to order food at the bar and you get it served to your table. I got the "I'm Your Huckleberry" and the "Mango Blonde". Loved them. They were fresh and crisp and easy to drink . We got the usual suspects to share: poke nachos, chicken pesto flatbread, some fries, wings and a pretzel. All of it were good and it was more than enough for three people. Great spot. Wish I had pictures but we spent too much time talking and enjoying company.
