I haven't tried a great variety of food here, but what I have had has been a 3.5 out of 5. We always get good service though so that's a plus. We loved coming here with our toddler so he could play in the sand box, but was very disappointed with our last visit. There was older kids left unsupervised throwing sand at other kids in their face and claimed all the toys. No parents in sight. Backyard Grill is a great local family dining spot. Great home style eating, and a very unique interior design and experience. Never had a bad plate of food. Try the Prime Rib Sandwhich, as it is excellent! Chicken Fried Steak eaters better come hungry! Great food, and nicely priced. I hear the owner is a very charitable and community driven person, so that just makes it even better to support this establishment. Just moved to the NW area and was looking for some good restaurants to try other than the typical chain names. Decided on The Backyard Grill due to it's success on yelp. The overall experience was pretty good, although the food wasn't what I was expecting. The menu had a lot to choose from, and maybe this was the downfall since they couldn't specialize in a certain area with more quality. Quantity doesn't take priority over quality. I spent a quite of bit of time looking at the menu trying to decide what to order, and eventually settled on a burger. An establishment, in my opinion, can always be graded on the quality of it's burger. I believe I had the bacon cheeseburger, and while it was good, it wasn't anything special. It got eaten and I was full, but I just didn't have that "that was the best burger ever" feeling afterward. Maybe the BYG will get another chance in my book and I can try something else to base my review on. However, the wait staff was excellent. Our waitress was probably one of the most top-notch servers I have had in a long time. She was very friendly, quick, attentive, etc. The service alone is worth at least giving this place a try. read more

I took my family there to eat two weeks ago. The service was horrible and un-attentive we waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. When it finally came out our food was cold. The manager came out and apologized for the poor service and food quality and gave us a coupon to come back. Well last night we went back to give them another try. Both my son and I LOVE BACKYARD GRILL!!! I can't decide if his favorite is the corndogs or the sandpit. My favorite is the burger on the jalapeño bun. I recently used Backyard Grill Catering for my wedding. The food was great however, I am disappointed in the customer service provided to me. I am not a wedding planner so therefore, I do not know all that encompasses having food catered for a wedding. I should not have to just stumble upon information. I feel as though the job of a caterer is to provide necessary information and requirements for both parties however, this was not the case. When I first approached them for questions, I was sent an email with the menu. No problem, I reviewed the menu and emailed them saying I would like to talk about a couple of items. Jennisa called my husband and I to go over the package we were interested in. Jennisa then sent us a quote via email. I approved the quote and was then sent over a CC authorization form. We paid half of the total. As we got closer to the wedding, numbers and items were adjusted to fit our needs. This is also when I was told our bartender needed an entire hour (out of the 4 hours we elected) for set up and clean up. This is something that should have been covered initially. We were told the 4 hours included set up and break down but not that it would be an entire hour of the time we paid for. Jennisa recommended we account for children with full size plates as this would cover adults who eat more than their provided portion. We took her advice and added these. Backyard Grill Catering arrived on time and the food was great however, at the end of the night we noticed we did not have any leftovers. Considering we had some guests that did not show up, we were confused by this and wondered if someone took our food. I reached out to John with Backyard and asked how much leftovers we had. He said they served almost all of the food. My husband questioned how this could be as we had about 13 extra servings due to no shows. Jennisa then responded saying their insurance does not allow them to leave food behind because they do not know what happens as far as refrigeration after they leave. I find this odd since they left the vendors food on the counter when they left (not refrigerated). I then told Jennisa we should have been provided this information. She then told me the terms are posted on their website. I did not design their website nor do I work for Backyard Grill Catering. How am I to KNOW that I need to go to a specific page on their website to view their terms? I would have if I was instructed to do so. No apology was given that we were not provided this information. Instead, it was OUR fault. I then went to the website to try and find the terms they were referring to. The terms have an initial line at the bottom of each page meaning this is something I should have been given, initialed, and returned but that was not the case. I went through all communication provided to me to ensure I did not miss this and I was never sent this information nor instructed that it was my responsibility to go to the website, sign the terms agreement, and return. All in all, yes the food was good. They did arrive on time and we had enough food but the customer service made this a lot more stressful than it should have been. read more

This place was phenomenal. From the chips and queso to the Chicken Fried Steak. My boyfriend ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and his sister ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with not one, but two slices cheese and a lot of bacon. The seasoned fries are a must. The bread pudding is the best I've tasted thus far. Prices are extremely reasonable and Trinity was the best! The service was phenomenal. We are definitely coming back. Great family restaurant. Nice atmosphere. I always get coupons here from the school I work at and I live close by, so I end up coming here if I don't want to cook. My favorite dish is the chuck wagon!! It is a tasty pulled pork sandwich. It is my go to when I come here. Their burgers are delicious too. I feel that they need to step up their service. A few months ago I ordered a beer and had to wait over AN HOUR to actually get it! Meanwhile the bartender that was working kept walking past my table with huge margaritas but could not seem to open a beer and hand it to me. Our server left us there and we didn't see her, so another server started helping us out. When my beer finally came they apologized and gave us a free dessert. My companions and I stopped in for dinner. Past experiences with the steaks here have been pretty good so we ordered them this time, too. One of my companions had the sirloin and I had the ribeye. She said the sirloin was tough and gristly, not a good cut of meat. I ordered the ribeye medium-rare and it was served medium-well. Was tough, too, but still juicy. My companions and I decided to split two dessert: Peach Cobbler and the Triple Lindy. The cobbler was just okay. The Triple Lindy, however, is a toss up. It is a brownie topped with a chocolate chip served ala mode with chocolate syrup drizzled over top. Total chocoholic's dream on paper but very rich and liable to send your blood sugar levels through the roof. read more
