I just realized I had never updated my review since the first time I went to The Barrel. It was brand new and I tried to not be too harsh. I will tell you that I read a lot of their reviews and the best thing is that you can tell they care about their customers, because they listened. The Barrel is really a great restaurant with top notch service. I have been back 4 or 5 times and have recently joined their Cork Club. I am looking forward to future visits. Sitting on the patio for happy hour was a fun visit. Steak, salad and bourbon cocktails were all delicious. Going for a girls night is a lot of fun. The Ceasar Salad with Steak is a perfect choice with a glass of wine. Our most recent visit was with friends, on a Thursday; Ladies Night. Parker was our waiter and he was very helpful. I tried a friend's pork chop. I am picky about pork chops, but I would definitely order theirs. For our appetizer we shared the tuna wontons. They were very good. The sauce was amazing. They really need to include a spoon to scoop it up. We poured it out of the serving dish onto our plates. My husband and I shared the steak fried rice. It was good, especially with the carrot side. I would probably give an honest 2.5. The appetizers were great, elk crostini and elk tacos were very enjoyable . Ordered the wild boar for a main course, which came out basically raw. I would have sent it back but our waitress did not check in with us after food was delivered. The sides were very underwhelming. When you take one bite of a dish and someone comes to pick it up, it really shouldn't show up on a bill ($42), even told staff that it was undercooked. The food was very tasty, the service was excellent and the ambiance felt to be of people my age between 40-60 not to mention the whole layout of the restaurant and lighting. 8 of us went there for happy hour. Featured drinks were half price until 6. Old fashioneds and other classics were excellent and a great value. Their double hamburger is $10 for happy hour and is a damn good burger. The brussels sprouts app has Asian chile spice. We went back the next week and ordered the same things. Overall great dining experience! We sat on the patio on a chilly night, but they had the heaters on and the sun shades down so you couldn't even tell it was on a patio. Food and drinks were great and they had birthday confetti out for my husband along with a fun sparkler candle. Highly recommend! read more

Everything was amazing! The martini had ice floating which all martini drinkers know is a big plus. The oysters, salad and filet with sides were delicious. Carrot cake was an OMG experience. Wall to wall bourbons & spirits line the back bar as far as the eye can see - right up to the rows of TVs ... just in time for football season. Favorites on the menu were: Oysters. Bone Marrow. A *proper* charcuterie board. Chops. Sea Bass. Scallops. Sides. "Actual Truffle Fries" {worth every calorie and dime on the $25 dollar price tag}. The wine program leaves nothing to disappoint, is well priced, and the glassware is Riedel Cabernet glass - delicate, gorgeous and beautiful. Two months old and they're still getting the rhythms of service down but don't let that keep you away. Pretty soon, you won't be able to find a table in this underserved community. Very disappointed in the food quality. Even more disappointed with customer service. Two of the meats we ordered were nearly impossible to chew. So fatty and so tough. We addressed this to the staff and we were basically told "sorry, you should come back and try again"...... Awesome date night with friends at The Barrel. The whole experience was top notch and what I look for in a good restaurant. We started at the bar and enjoyed several well executed drinks by "Blake" who is also a manager. He truly has great skills. Highlights include stamped ice blocks in the old fashioned and details like burnt rosemary or the ice chips in my Martini. Appetizers were awesome. Bacon wrapped quail, salmon cream cheese wontons, and meatballs were all great. My wife had the pork chop I wanted which came with goat cheese grits. I had a filet which was well executed with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Not pictured were two great deserts. The finishing touch was the espresso Martini. Very good and light. You would think you were drinking a nitro cold brew, very dangerous. I will be back for lunch, drinks at the bar, and definitely dinner again! read more

Had high hopes for this place based on other reviews. Food was solid except for clam chowder which was too thick and lacked decent amount of clams for my taste. My wife enjoyed the wedge and my son enjoyed the meatballs. Our entrees were good and I recommend them; French Dip, Peppered Filet and Pork Chop. Deserts were delicious but small portion; crème brûlée and lemon blueberry cake. Wanted an order of onion rings but told that they were out at 6 pm on Saturday? They also ran out of the bourbon I was drinking. Our server was very nice but as restaurant became busier, didn't see him much. Bar service was too slow. Kitchen staff repeatedly came to our table asking if we ordered the drinks and food coming out. They are in need of training. Manager was nice enough to comp my wife's chocolate martini as it came out after we finished desert. Based on the price of the meal, service needs to be vastly better if we were to consider coming back. read more

SO GOOD! We just found about the Barrel and we've been twice in the last week. The restaurant in itself is really neat and the service is excellent. Every cocktail we've had so far has been amazing and they have a great happy hour. I've only had the deviled eggs and burger so far but both were 10/10. We will be back again and again! read more

While the ambience and decor were very nice, the food was a below average. We ordered a salad and added grilled chicken. At first it came without chicken. This was corrected by just throwing a piece of chicken on a plate. I would have expected a new salad with the chicken mixed and seasoned rather than uncut, barely cooked. First time here. It popped up on my facebook feed yesterday and today I was in the area so here I am. What a gem of a place. Nice sized bar, not big but not too small. Fantastic whiskey wall. I had the goat cheese salad with sliced steak and I've found a new favorite salad. I haven't had (and I have been searching) warm pecan crusted goat cheese in a very long time. Located next to Marty Bs, in the plaza where State Farm and Marty Bs to-go is. Nestled towards the back right. I really like this place and I do appreciate it when they came to our table and asked us for our feedback, given that they just opened a month ago. Here are the pros and cons of my visit with 3 friends! I used Google maps and it brought me to the back entrance, which I had no idea was the back because theres no host table in either front or back door so that was super confusing. But they said they're working on finding a host section. for now, the hostess sits at the bar. The staff here Is very friendly. First it was Parker but then we asked to move to a seated booth table so we were now in Noellas section. Both were attentive but Parker - even tho we moved out of his section, he must've taken notice that Noella was busy and we hadn't taken our drink orders yet so he came by to check on us and got Noella for us. Great job being attentive Parker! Noella was super friendly and great service too. Drinks: Pros: Pleased to See Me - Japanese Whiskey cocktail was so so good. Big Barb Marg - refreshing margarita.. Cons: Tinkle on the Blower - my friend said it was too sweet. Too much juice maybe? Con: just from our observations of their wines are they're priced higher than most restaurants we frequent to. Food: Pros: Ribeye meatballs - super moist and tasty Beef tartare - great flavor and perfect with the toast and parmesan crisps. Charcuterie board - this was amazing. There was something about the fresh honeycomb, the pate and the cheese that was fantastic. Each item was perfectly paired. Shrimp Wonton - I didn't have this but the guys said it was really good. Ribeye steak - perfectly cooked at Medium Rare. Very tender meat. Fantastic Cons: Truffle fries - $19 for a plate of fries that honestly tasted like McDonald's fries. And I say that in a way of, on a rare occasion I might treat myself to McDonald's fries because they are good! BUT, for a nice restaurant like Barrel, I expected more for obvious reasons. I love Truffle. And this is advertised as cooked in duck fat, sprinkled with *secret* fry salt and topped with shaved Truffle. There was no Truffle flavor. Like. At all. This was very disappointing and I think what bothered me most was having to pay almost $20 for a handful of plain fries. Bone marrow - this was also very disappointing. It's been a minute since I've had Bone Marrow and was really looking forward to it. It's suppose to have prosciutto bits, thyme and lava salt (whatever that is) and this had ZERO taste. None. Zilch. Between the 4 of us that ate this... not one positive reaction from any one. When the servers came out asking us how it was, I was very honest. And they said they've heard multiple ppl say the same remarks about my 2 cons. So chef, i think it's time to reevaluate some items! I do like this place. I certainly intend to keep coming back. As you can see, there's more pros than cons. And I know they're still new so there's always room for growth. And l look forward to trying their other items. read more

We had an early dinner here tonight. The bartender that was mostly serving us was Abby and she is delightful. I had the Chicken Fried Prime New York Strip and the plate went back empty with no doggy bag. It was tender and delicious. Mom and Dad split the Trio Dip and really enjoyed it. Being Keto, Mom always appreciates a place that has Chicharrones and theirs were hot and crispy delicious vessels for her dipping enjoyment. My only regret is I forgot to get pictures because there aren't any yet of the dishes we ordered... but we will be back! read more

Our party of 5 thought the food was good. I was excited to hopefully find a new date night spot, but our service was not great. We sat outside on the nice patio, and everyone enjoyed their food. My husband and I would have liked to have had a 2nd cocktail but were not offered one. For having a bill over $200.00 it would be nice to have good service to go along with that. Maybe that is the was it is suppose to be, but it hardly stayed on the chip, it just dripped off. The fries are WAY way too salty for my taste, but good. Deviled eggs, yummy! The crab roll did not have hardly any crab in it...just a huge bread roll. My husband had the rabbit dish, he loved it! He also loved his old fashioned. Mostly we liked our time here. We went for brunch and we loved it. I love the look of the restaurant, the decor is beautiful. The food was outstanding. I had the Texas Scramble and my husband had the crab roll. I had a mimosa and my husband had the resting peach face. We liked it so much we are taking family from out of town this weekend.
