Food: I ordered the mommas burger. It has 2 smashed patties cheese lettuce tomato onion pickles. It was bomb I really enjoyed it. Everything was fresh and the burger was juicy. It was big and I thought I couldn't finish it but it was so good that I did. I also loved that they were pet friendly so I got my dog 2 patties (each $4) and she enjoyed it Ambience: there's indoor seating and outdoor patio seating which overlooks the street and lake behind. I really enjoyed sitting outside. Service: was A1. I should've got my servers number but he had glasses and a beard, I think medical and tall with dark hair. He was awesome. Very friendly and attentive. I was also contemplating between 2 beers so he brought out both for me to sample out. This def heightened my experience here I was actually craving a burger so I yelped for 30 min and bookmarked 4 places and kept going back and forth indecisive of where to go, but finally decided to come here and so glad I did. Overall I really enjoyed everything here today for lunch. So much that I recommended it to my friend who has a cabin here. And will recommend to other friends who visit big bear. I will definitely come back.

I was looking for a place to watch the Mexico World Cup match and man am I glad this place popped up. The draft list was maybe the best restaurant beer list I've ever seen. Highland Park Brewing, Trillium, Cellarmaker, and Monkish?!?! How do you choose? The vibes were strong and they had a great drink menu too. The service was so friendly and quick. They have a military discount as well. Can't wait to spend more time here when we visit.

This is the 3.5 in my eyes, the things that it has going for it is on the outside of town before you hit all the madness. If you're looking for an easy meal with adequate Parking, then it's probably it Now onto the food, $5.50 for a soda is way too high priced in my opinion, yes, its served in a bottle, but still can't warrent that price tag. The rest of the food is OK, my son opted for the chicken tenders and tater tots which came out hot and he said that they were pretty good. I tried to Smashburger with the steak fries, which was good but it's a frozen burger patty and it's hard to cook it to a preferable temperature so it seemed like it was overdone. The fries were great though. I also tried to meat lovers pizza, which was good, but the sauce was canned and it was acidic for sure. Not the best pizza in the world. The people that owned the place were super cool and friendly. The server was also super friendly and helpful which I appreciated. They do not bring water to your table and you have to fill your own water cup at the door which if I'm paying a tip I don't really like Everything here is fried it's bar food. Yes it's a tap room I know but maybe after five beers the food would taste better than if you were sober. Hope they do well up here as it's one of the few spots that you can get in and out of without hassle.

We had lunch here before checking into the cabin. The Bear Trap has an outdoor patio which is pet-friendly and we had two of our doggies here. I ordered an OG burger and split that! It comes with two patties and caramelized onions, pickles, melted cheese, and some secret sauce. They have a lot of different types of burgers and we also got wings, tater tots, chicken tenders, and French fries to share with our party of six. Service was fantastic and our food came out with the quickness! Overall, I would highly recommend visiting here and enjoying some delicious food!

They have yummy food here. If you're visiting big bear and want some yummy finger foods and beer they have it here. We tried the garlic bread and the nachos. That was one of the best garlic bread we ever had I love how much garlic they put in every bite. The nachos were really good too my hubby liked how the chicken was seasoned on it. They put a lot of nacho cheese, jalepenos, and guacamole, it was enough food for 4 people. But we killed it all. The customer service was great too. Thanks guys

Just stopped in for a quick drink and snacks after walking around Big Bear Lake. This place had the most friendly staff, great food and an impressive selection of beers on Tap! Steven (one of the owners I believe) took the time to chat with us for a bit and told us about the different selections of beers they acquire from different breweries. The atmosphere paired with the beautiful weather and view of the lake will make this a permanent "must stop" whenever we're in the area. If you're looking for a spot just a bit further away from all the crowds and tourists this is your place! Thanks to TBT & Steven, we had a great time!

The Bear Trap just opened earlier this year and it seems to be a great addition. The establishment, which is modern and very cool, features both indoor and outdoor spaces; the latter having some lake views. I was in town with a buddy last month and we had stopped in a couple times while staying nearby. We had a nice time and enjoyed the outside patio! Food wise the menu is made up of various shared and small bites (chips and salsa, nachos, wings etc), smash burgers, pizzas and salads. They also have a full bar serving beers (draft/cans/bottled), wines, and various cocktails. We enjoyed the food and some great hazy IPAs. Drink: Bear Trap Hazy - Refreshing, flavorful, good citrus and smoothness to it. Food: The Garlic Ness Bread Monster - Mozzarella, provolone, garlic butter, pesto, house marinara. This thing in fact was a monster and very filling; loved the pesto drizzle and the cheesy-ness. I thought the marinara for dipping tasted good as well. Bear Trap Nachos - Nacho cheese, jalapenos, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, choice of chicken or steak. The nachos were huge, good amount of ingredients. The service was great, employees we spoke to were nice and owner Miguel and his family (it's a family affair here) are so great. The parking situation is easy as there is a good sized lot. The prices are fine and reflect the times and location.

We happened to go on their 1 yr anniversary. Not knowing what we were getting into we had no expectations. They were highly receptive with us sitting right away and having amazing service. The OG smash burger was AMAZING in its own right. I added back and the chop it up so that you have bacon in every bite and one bite won't rob you of an entire strip. The Tots are crispy and the fries perfectly seasoned. Even the beer choices and the ability to get 5 oz to create your own flight is great. Will definitely be coming back again on my next trip to Big Bear.

everything here from the service, food, and drinks was absolutely amazing! we got the big momma burger and it was so so delicious. the boneless wings were also a star! our favorite was the garlic parmesan sauce. my favorite cocktail of all time was the lavender buzz with their house made lavender syrup! a star if you like lavender. lastly, service was so amazing! owners are incredibly personable and nice. my partner and I had a difficult time finding a good place for quality food on big bear, so finding this gem was a huge relief! read more

Wondered in here after walking around the main DT area of Big Bear. The bar experience was great. Bartender was super friendly and attentive. Selection of libations was top tier, fortaleza tequila is my favorite and to find it all the way up here in Big Bear was amazing. Didn't eat food but we sat next to the kitchen and it all smelt great, next time we come we will definitely make this our first stop for food and drinks. read more

Took a Spontaneous drive up to Big Bear and found a gem called The Bear Trap. Food, Drinks, Service and the view were all amazing. Before you knew it 3.5 hours had gone by and it felt like we had just sat down there, it was so relaxing to just sit, play some games and enjoy the amazing food Table service is awesome and the staff was on top of things. My fiance and I are locals and we were excited to hear about this new spot. We stopped in today with our doggies and hung out on their patio -- lake views were awesome. I can already see them needing some more seating as the days warm up, because it was shady and cool out and still full! Food was SO GOOD. The photos uploaded so far don't even do it justice. My new favorite burger in BB. Wings were good too. My fiance asked for a few customizations and they were accommodated which was nice, as well. Customer service was top tier. Food came quick, staff checked on us when needed. We're excited to come back for more! read more

My husband and I stumbled upon this brewery in Big Bear during their grand opening! The decor was great, everyone was so kind and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the drinks were awesome! (The wings were so good I forgot to take a picture until they were almost gone)! Going to breweries is one of our favorite pastimes, and this hit the mark! This will definitely be one that is in our rotation! We also got to meet the owners who were giving out free mead and samples, along with decorated cookies! read more

Everyone here was so welcoming and kind! My husband and I ordered our food to go, but we couldn't resist having a glass of the Bear Trap Hazy while we waited. It was so light and refreshing, we almost didn't realize how strong it was! By the time we sat at the restaurant for about 20 minutes and even made a 10-minute stop at the convenience store for snacks, our food was STILL warm when we finally got back to our cabin. The fries were served with ranch without me even having to ask,HUGE wins all the way around in my book! read more

Received Great Food and Great Service! A casual diner/bar with quick and friendly service where we felt welcome. My son accidentally ordered ale that was too sweet. They graciously took it away and replaced it with lager. We shared salad, mama bear burger, and meat sweat pie, and everything was very tasty and pleasing to our tastebuds. Had no idea such a great brewery existed! Amazing and comprehensive selection of beers. Knowing it was owned by a wholesome family made this place even better! Service was very attentive. If there weren't cars in the lot it's hard to tell this place is a business. Small sign out front but nothing on the large building front that I saw. However, if you love an excellent beer selection,great food, and a great outside deck, you need to go here. Family joint that are doing it right. I had a great dark lager and my buddy had top shelf whiskey and coke. We also had their OG smashburger with tots. Really spectacular. My new favorite in Big Bear. Cheers to the owners. Brand new spot in big bear, just opened 3 months ago. The owners are literally the sweetest people and they take good care of you. The food is amazing? The nachos were LOADED!!! The menu includes beer pairings for all the food which is a very nice touch. They also have tons of board games and an outdoor patio overlooking the lake. Pet friendly as well. Highly recommend!! read more

Service was okay, our waitress was very sweet but not very attentive. she never came to check on us to see if we needed anything nor if we wanted an another drink. They charge 25% gratuity over parties of 10 which is okay if they actually committed to their job. The owner Miguel was condescending, asked him for what the surcharge was for and just said we do that here. I work service industry so technically/legally that's not allowed. If you want frozen food served on cardboard this is this spot for you read more

Ambience and service were great - seat yourself and order at table with QR code. Games were a nice fun addition. We really wanted to like this place but the food is subpar. Pizzas were sour and had too much dough; dough was bland. Nachos looked good but taste was off. Nice and relaxing environment and good to stop by if you're not picky. read more

The only decent service of the night. Another plus was food did not take too long, but the dishes were nothing worth returning for. The staff who came to take plates spoke to us with an irritated attitude. Not sure if the poor service had to do with the diversity in our group, but it sure felt like it. Yup one side of a hot dog bun with garlic butter and a ketchup cup with sauce to dip it in. I do believe, I'd give them a second chance if I'm being honest but my first visit is the only mulligan they'll get. Next time I will not accept a pizza made incorrectly or order the garlic bread.

We were actually here when that party was here. It looked like a big party ( more than 10 people). So gratuity was understandable. (We were a party of 8 and didn't mind our gratuity fee). Lots of cocktail glasses on their table as well as food. Also saw the owner hook them up with free birthday shots. Not sure what the problem was because when they were leaving, one of the girls in that party flipped chairs and stormed out! (Total house wives status!) The owner handled the situation very well.
