First timer (at this location)! Saturday lunch, arrived a little after they opened, no wait. Very clean, food came out pretty fast, great service from every single person we encountered. Andrea and the rest of the staff were very attentive, friendly, and communicated wonderfully. This location provided exceptional service to us. I went to put my name on the list so I can enjoy a dinner with my family. I literally sat there for a whole hour and three tables were dirty and not cleaned for about 15 to 20 minutes. If I could give 0 starts, I could. Extremely disappointed with our experience. We waited nearly two hours for a table, and 15 minutes before the issue happened, we had already checked in and were told there were only four more people ahead of us. When we went back to ask about our table, we were suddenly told they couldn't find us in the system. We spoke with Manager Elsy, hoping for a resolution, but instead of listening to our concerns, she completely misunderstood the situation and made us feel as though the mistake was somehow our fault. There was no accountability or attempt to make things right. Long waits can happen, but poor communication and dismissive customer service are unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, and I hope the restaurant improves how they handle situations like this in the future. read more

Today was our first time at The Boiling Crab and it was Amazing. The food was so delicious and the staff were great. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We were a large party of 12 and were accommodated quickly with a setup outside which I liked. The weather was great and the outdoor seating has view of the grove and people walking by. We had a bag with shrimp, sausage, corn, and all the sauces combined. That combo was delicious. In another bag we had 1 pound of King Crab (85 dollars per pound) just fyi the shrimp was (18 dollars a pound) and Snow crab, I believe that was 35 or 37 dollars a pound. Also had the plate of fried calamari and lemon pepper fries. The fries were super delicious! I love how the table cloth is paper and you just pile everything in the middle out of the way. Lastly our server was great and offered great insight on good menu items. My family and I will definitely be returning soon. Also we drove 2 hours to eat here and would do it again. Love that it is next to a free parking garage and lots of shopping also. Give them a try! 10/10 read more

I love the boiling crab concept and I think this location is great. My friend and I joined the Yelp waitlist before arrival so we were seated immediately. Some locations don't do the waitlist so this was an awesome perk. I usually get the shrimp and some locations can be hit or miss when it comes to that - sometimes the shrimp tend to be overcooked. At this location, the shrimp was cooked to perfection! The service was also fantastic. Our server checked in several times during our meal and even volunteered to itemize our receipt, which was super kind. Parking in the lot was also relatively easy on a Thursday night. I'm very disappointed with the service I received today. I waited for three hours, only to be removed from the waiting list. To make matters worse, I then decided to order takeout, and it turns out I was given someone else's leftovers. Inside the bag, there was a half-bitten corn and a chewed-up potato. This experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Apparently, according to the manager Alfredo, this was not leftover food. He claimed the corn looks like this when it's overcooked. However, the picture doesn't lie. Please don't come to me with that explanation. While he did try to offer credit and make things right, he would not admit that this appeared to be someone else's food and instead insisted it was simply overcooked. read more

Very disappointed with our visit. We waited almost 2 hours, even though there was a table sitting empty for 15-20 minutes with no one being seated. Eventually, they seated us at that exact table - meaning we could have been seated much earlier. During the entire wait, we were stuck in a stuffy waiting area, with no water offered and not even a door opened for some fresh air. Once seated, we had to ask just to get menus. We specifically requested non-spicy food, but it came extremely spicy. The staff insisted it was the mildest level, which was absolutely not true! We've been to this restaurant many times and know what the food should taste like. Our mouths were literally burning, and afterward we had stomach pain. They offered to remake the dish, but what was the point if they believed what we received was already the mildest level of spice? It was already around 11 PM and the restaurant was closing, so waiting another 30 minutes made no sense. We were hungry and had no choice but to eat it. Overall, a very unpleasant experience and no enjoyment at all. read more

We usually arrive about 8:45-9pm and were added on the list and told we may not be seated, understood, but this time the guy managing the list did not even attempt to add us and was told there were 50 parties ahead of us which 8/10 don't show around that time, but he didn't even try. Next we were told we can order to go, which we did due to driving 2+ hours to get there, the girl who helped us was very nice and detail oriented but when we got our food, it was so dry, almost to no sauce in our 2lbs of shrimp whole shabang. We usually love coming to The Boiling Crab for my oldest daughter's birthday, but this visit was disappointing. After a long day at Universal Studios Hollywood, we chose this location because it was the closest on a Saturday. Unfortunately, the food quality wasn't up to par. Our shrimp bags arrived, but some of the shrimp were undercooked, and a few pieces of corn were still cold on the inside. The service also fell short. Our waiter was mostly unavailable, didn't check in on our table, and we had to ask other staff for refills and items we never received. We understand it gets busy, but basic table check-ins would have made a big difference. The ambiance was okay, but overall this experience didn't meet our expectations. We'll be sticking to our usual location moving forward. read more

Typically not a huge fan of coming to The Boiling Crab these days given that the menu is limited compared to other seafood boil restaurants and the line is always long. But my friend wanted to do her birthday here, so we came. Waited nearly two damn hours before sitting down, but what can you do. Anyways, got four pounds of shrimp, one pound of clam, some sausages, and some potatoes with The Whole Sha-Bang. Wasn't feeling like paying premium price for king crab. Shrimp was fine, plenty of flavor as expected. I'm not really a potato guy, but they were actually pretty good with the sauce. And of course I always love me some sausages. Service is great here. They made sure to keep filling up our waters and bring gloves over, which you will need many of since the oil actually seeps through the gloves. Definitely were taken care of. The food is always going to be good here, and you will never leave disappointed. It's just the wait always sucks. read more

If you are looking for a place to celebrate family, this place isn't it. (Our group was 9 people which would be just two tables connected and two chairs at each end to accommodate). Put our name on a waitlist at 7:50 pm and was notified our table was being prepared at 8:35pm (45mins past). 8:55pm comes around and we ask what the hold up is and the two male hosts are saying they are waiting for tables to open up to put together. However, I go "use" the restroom to see what the table situation is looking like and there are plenty of tables open and unused. At this point since our "preparation" notification, around 20 other people were seated (including a party of 7 who had just walked in to say "party for 7" as we were sitting right in front of them after asking multiple times about our wait). We asked multiple times what the hold up was and the hosts kept different things from "the table being prepped", "waiting for people to check out", "we're trying to get people to leave", "does your family want to split up in two tables"...not professional whatsoever. I noticed them saying this and then when they went to "check", I noticed a lot of standing and watching the World Cup game that was occurring. Should really have a sit down with the two male hosts working the front and their capabilities of running it. I would like to also add that there seemed to be clientele bias as the people who had just been walking in were getting seated right away. That is all I will say on that note. Essentially, do better with communicating with customers and be straight up...leaving a group of people waiting for over 30-40 minutes after check in is unacceptable. If you are not going to properly accommodate a group of people at a seafood boil restaurant then perhaps that job is not for you. read more

Waited over an hour 15 to get seated on Tuesday, June 30th 8-9:15PM. They let everyone sit there for hours watching the soccer game given the 90 minute eating limit. I get it important world cup soccer game but this is a restaurant not a sports bar. We were a party of 9 and were told once that "our table was being clean" then 20 minutes later that "they were waiting for a table to pay their bill" and 15 minutes later that our table wasn't ready and they were "trying to bus near tables that were still there to have them get the hint and that it was out of their control". Customer service was absolutely terrible. The two male hosts were telling us different things and told us for 35 minutes that our table was getting set up for more people to just get seated, big parties too (one of 7 people). The hosts did not take accountability and did not apologize. All they had to do was plan the tables to eventually put two tables together but they just kept letting people in and making us wait. Terrible experience. Train your employees better on service and how to do their job. Response to your response. We were all there by 8:35pm. And it was not busy enough to not be able to accommodate 9 people. There were at least 5 tables open but employees just didn't arrange customers correctly in a way we could be seated. You also blatantly ignored the fact that your employees lied to us and told us different things at different times. Thanks very much. read more

One of the staple places for shrimp boil, and I'm so glad I visited this location in LA. Located in a shopping plaza, there is plenty of parking in nearby lots and a lively ambiance to walk around. They started to fill up around 12:30pm on a Sunday, and my large party of 10 got seated in 15-20 min. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a handwashing station (comes in super handy for a big party!) My go to order is a pound of shrimp, the whole shebang, mild (5/5), and this location delivered. Food was out for our party in about 20 min. We also got the Cajun fries (5/5), side orders of rice, and potatoes and corn on the inside of our bags. I love dipping my peeled shrimp back in the sauce, and in the lemon, salt, and pepper mixture. Once we sat down the service was great, the servers were all attentive of our wants and needs. WE decided to come here for New Year's Eve dinner and not surprisingly, it was packed. We put our name down and walked around for a bit as we were told the wait would be 45 minutes. No big deal. We said we'd take the first available table which turned out to be outside. It was a bit cold but we were summoned back after about 30 minutes. We ordered king crab and shrimp with the medium spicy sauce and some corn and potatoes. In only a couple minutes of big bag of seafood arrived. We gloved up (I brought my own latex gloves as the loose plastic ones provided aren't quite as good.) and we hunkered down. The crab was tasty and big and the shrimp were nice. The corn seemed a bit overcooked but still pretty nice. The potatoes were good too. All in all it was 130 dollars including the tip but of course, seafood is expensive. Service was friendly and ambiance was nice even though it was a bit cold on the patio. Happy New Year! We'll be back again someday soonish. read more

Took my husband and the family to Boiling Crab yesterday for the first time in a long time. I had been going to a competitor for a minute I guess avoiding the long evening wait. I decided to go to the Burbank location because I thought we'd have a shorter wait but no, that was not the case. My family put our name down at 6:33 and was called at 8 to finally be seated. While waiting we did some shopping to pass the time. We were seated pretty quickly. The table was outside and it was a little chilly but prefer to be where there is fresh air. The table was covered in plastic wrap and we ordered. Our server was Honey and her and the other staff were really nice. They brought out the sauces, lime, salt etc. All of our food had made it to our table within twenty minutes. We ordered onion rings, fries, king/snow crab, corn. My husband and I got the whole shabang, and the kids, plain butter. The food was all good and so was the service ! No complaints from my family.
